This one simple practice that I call “Eyeballs” can make your afternoons easier and add powerful connection to anytime you reunite with your child. It only takes a few seconds and very little effort, but I know it will make a huge difference in your home. You'll Learn:What the Eyeballs tool is and how to use it (it's gonna change your life!)Why connection doesn't have to be complicatedMy favorite phrase for reuniting with my kidsI love this so much because your child wants to be seen by you. They desperately want to feel loved, accepted, and safe. And they get this from you when you simply take a moment to acknowledge them and say hello.--------------------------------------------------Moments of Reunion MatterA moment of reunion can happen anytime you've been apart from your child. Maybe it's first thing in the morning, when they get home from school, or after a sporting event or play date. When you are truly present in moments of reunion, it sets up the rest of your time together in a way that feels connected and calming. It feels good to be greeted warmly. Think about when you walk up to a hostess in a restaurant or check in for an appointment. How much nicer is it when they make eye contact, smile, and welcome you? It makes you feel lighter, more compliant, and you probably smile back. This is the kind of moment you're trying to create with your kid. Especially at the end of the school day, kids are really tired. They're waiting for that moment when they can relax and decompress. It's time for them to take a deep exhale, and they want you to be a part of it. How To Do EyeballsEyeballs is all about connection. I call this strategy Eyeballs because I think it's funny

QUOTES FOR REFLECTION“Hospitality means primarily the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy.”~Henri J.M. Nouwen (1932-1996), Dutch priest, professor and theologian.“Here in our house you'll find a royal welcome; Have supper first, then tell us what you need.”~From Book 1 of Homer's Odyssey“What you leave behind is not engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the lives of others.”~Pericless (495-429 BC), Greek general“Christian hospitality has much more to do with good relationships than with good food. There is a fine line between care and cumber. In many instances, less ado would serve better.”~Kevin DeYoung, American pastor and theologian“The focus of entertaining is impressing others; the focus of true hospitality is serving others.”~Tim Chester, British pastor and authorSERMON PASSAGE3 John 1-15 (ESV) 1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. 2 Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 5 Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for these brothers, strangers as they are, 6 who testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. 7 For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. 8 Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth. 9 I have written something to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority. 10 So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church. 11 Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. We also add our testimony, and you know that our testimony is true. 13 I had much to write to you, but I would rather not write with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. 15 Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends, each by name.

Ben Albert, founder of Balbert Marketing and host of Real Business Connections podcast, shares his belief that there's no single key to success - instead, every business has its own unique combination lock. He reveals his nearly 100% effective strategy for getting video testimonials by asking during emotional high moments, and explains how childhood experiences between ages 8-13 often shape the core values that drive our businesses. Ben also shares practical exercises for identifying what makes you "better versus bitter" and how to shift your time and energy accordingly. Key Takeaways Success is a unique combination, not a universal key - Every business has different skills, clients, locations, and team members, requiring their own specific combination of strategies and approaches Ask for testimonials during emotional highs - The best time to request video testimonials is when clients are already feeling positive and engaged, not during random outreach Use the Better vs. Bitter exercise - Draw a line on paper and list what makes you better versus what makes you bitter, then systematically shift time from the bitter column to the better column Your origin story shapes your business values - The experiences and relationships from ages 8-13 often determine the core values and mission that drive your entrepreneurial journey About Ben Albert When Covid hit, Ben was furloughed and feeling lost. He hesitantly opened his MacBook, began reaching out to strangers on LinkedIn, and that one step launched his entrepreneurial journey. Ben has collaborated with industry giants like Chris Do, James Altucher, and Jordan Harbinger. There is no one magic pill to solve everyone's problems. There is no key to success, resilience, success in your video business. It's a combination lock." - Ben Albert "When's the best time to ask for a review or a video testimonial? It's during that emotional high." - Ben Albert "I felt disconnected. So I didn't realize this. I was developing a deep, almost necessity for connection." - Ben Albert "All you got to do is take something from the bitter column, do a little bit less of that, and then take the same amount of time in the better column and allocate that time to the better column." - Ben Albert "Each business, each person has their own little combination. Have a question you want answered on the podcast? Send us a text! Here's the replay from today's Meet & Greet! It will only be up for a couple of days, so tune in while you can to hear from 3 of our members about their experience with Zivli and progress so far.One participant asked a question that I know you may relate to:*“I just discovered Zivli and am interested in joining. I have tried so many ‘diets' and lost weight but always felt so restricted, deprived, and overwhelmed. With that I have regained weight over and over. I have spent lots of $$ on programs that aren't sustainable. So I guess my questions are:1. How does this program differ from the restrictive diet culture?2. Is it sustainable and worth the investment?3. How much weight do members typically lose?”* These are the exact kinds of questions we love to address—because Zivli is not another diet. You'll hear directly from members about how our program is different, sustainable, and truly worth the investment in your health and future. One member in the chat said: "On WW, I was taught to lead with carbs (usually the lowest points foods) and I always fought sugar cravings and food noise. Zivil taught me to lead with protein and healthy fats (usually a higher point food under WW, and thus discouraged) and my sugar cravings have decreased significantly and I always feel thin! This has been worth the price for me."Another member said..."What I have learned from Zivli is that it is not always about what you are eating (food), it is more about what is eating you (emotions/thoughts)."And yet another member had this to say to the new members in attendance... "Welcome to all of the new members. This is a great support group. Dr. Nolte and her team are very helpful and encouraging. I am so grateful that I found them. Getting clarity on tools that I can use step by step to make advancements for my health both mentally and physically is making a difference. My husband and family are so grateful too for the goodness this program has brought into my life."Resources From This Episode >> Insulin Resistance Diet Blueprint - https://www.zivli.com/blueprint?el=podcast >> Free Low Insulin Food Guide - https://www.zivli.com/ultimatefoodguide?el=podcast >> Join the Zivli Program - https://www.zivli.com/join?el=podcast >> Test Your Insulin at Home - https://www.zivli.com/testing?el=podcast Have a question? QUOTES FOR REFLECTION“To have Faith in Christ means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you.” ~C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity“If you believe what you like in the gospel, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself.”~Saint Augustine “All people know the same truth. Our lives consist of how we choose to distort it.”~Woody Allen, film director SERMON PASSAGEHebrews 13:20-25 (ESV) 20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. 22 I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly. 23 You should know that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom I shall see you if he comes soon. 24 Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who come from Italy send you greetings. 25 Grace be with all of you.

ALTARS NOT PLATFORMS Stewards of the Kingdom 8.10.25 We live in a world that craves a platform, but the gospel of Jesus Christ calls us to an altar. Clearing By Martha Postlethwaite Do not try to save the whole world or do anything grandiose. Instead, create a clearing in the dense forest of your life and wait there patiently, until the song that is your life falls into your own cupped hands and you recognize and greet it. Only then will you know how to give yourself to this world so worthy of rescue. Romans 16:3–5 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. Greet also the church that meets at their house. 2 Timothy 4:19 Greet Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus. The Marks of Kingdom Stewards (from the life of Priscilla and Aquila) Radical hospitality Faithful partnership Quiet influence Sacrificial living Open-handed generosity Kingdom stewardship Kingdom stewardship is living in full submission to King Jesus, faithfully managing everything He has entrusted to us so that His purposes are fulfilled through our lives. Being good stewards in the kingdom of God: Jesus is the King. The King establishes how His people live. We can choose to accept or reject His rule. To follow His way is to live in His kingdom. To reject His way is to live outside His kingdom. As stewards, we carry His rule (kingdom) into every sphere of life. Why did Jesus talk about money and stewardship so much? Because money reveals the heart Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Because the love of money is a major stronghold 1 Timothy 6:6-10 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. Basics of Kingdom Stewardship: Everything belongs to God. I'm a temporary manager of what He's entrusted to me. One day, I will give an account. Extravagant Generosity: when you become so overcome by grace and undeserved love, you lavishly reorient your life around giving and Kingdom impact

Today, I'd like to talk about Japanese greetings—like ohayou gozaimasu (good morning), konnichiwa (hello), and konbanwa (good evening). These might seem simple at first, but the expressions you use can change depending on the time of day or the situation.Once you get used to choosing the right greeting for each moment, your Japanese will sound much more natural!

Titus 3Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. 9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. 12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. 14 And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. 15 All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

“Grace Fueled Church” Philippians 4:14-23 August 3, 2025 Pastor Nathan Currey ----more---- Philippians 4:14 Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. [15] And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. [16] Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. [17] Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. [18] I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. [19] And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. [20] To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. [21] Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. 391 Stories and Connection It is vital to our own communities that we remember our stories and share them with one another, not to dwell on regrets and what ifs, but to reach out and connect with one another so that we all can learn and grow together, and hopefully create more grand stories on the paths we walk together. In this revisited episode, Sarah Elkins and Lee Keylock discuss their own stories and how they have healed through sharing stories and listening to the stories that others share with us. Highlights Connecting with people through sharing stories. Healing from trauma through stories and the community that sharing those stories creates. The changing paths our decisions create and how we should live in the moment and not dwell on what ifs. Greet the world and the challenges offered with open minds and a willingness to learn. Quotes “No regrets. Life is sliding doors right? If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.” “We're perpetual students, right? I've never approached anything I've ever done as an authority on anything.” “It's not enough to just hear stories. That can be brilliant and beautiful and life changing and you can have those moments, but when we work with youth we want them to think about how they can use stories to think about themselves, their communities, and the world and their place in it, and how they can become agents of change.” About Lee Lee Keylock is Director of Global Programs at Narrative 4 and oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of N4's ongoing programmatic development. Originally from Britain, Lee immigrated to the United States in 1989 and taught English at Newtown High School in Connecticut for thirteen years. He has served as an adjunct professor teaching Creative Writing and Composition at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, where he also earned his MFA in Creative Writing. Connect with Lee on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram! And make sure you check out his website Narrative 4! About Sarah "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. The audiobook, Your Stories Don't Define You, How You Tell Them Will is now available! Included with your purchase are two bonus tracks, songs recorded by Sarah's band, Spare Change, in her living room in Montana. Be sure to check out the Storytelling For Professionals Course as well to make sure you nail that next interview!

Salespeople ask me all the time: “Jen, do you still teach the 10 Steps to the Sale?” The answer is YES — but with a modern spin for today's showroom and remote selling environments. In this episode, I break down the first two steps: ✅ Meet & Greet — Creating instant comfort, using body language, and ditching robotic openers. ✅ Build Rapport & Discovery — Going deeper than small talk with powerful, curiosity-based questions. Plus: I share real-world examples of salespeople shifting their approach and closing more deals by simply changing how they say hello. Whether you're on the lot or behind a phone, this one's a must.
From ‘howya lads' to ‘hiya girls', Irish greetings reveal a lot about our social norms and changing gender dynamics.
