Go Flick Yourself!
It's Christmas here at 5GFA because time isn't real
We're wrapping up this Spooktober with some old friends. Jason Voorhees is back killing camp counselors and Janna is back peddling a new business that's a cut above the rest.
Car's breakdown AND people breakdown - if you're feeling broken and in need of a pick me up - give this a listen! It's guaranteed to make you yell uncontrollably or chuckle a couple of times.
For everyone begging us to do a Jerry Orbach episode - you're welcome.
My god we made it. 69 pods. If you ever listened to one of our episodes in passing or laughed at one in earnest we thank you and humbly request you show your appreciation by purchasing a Top Gun branded 5GFA hat for $19.99 at 5gfapod.com now or we'll stop doing this. Thanks!
Ice-T plays a homeless man who is hunted for sport by Rutger Hauer, John T. McGinley, F Murby Babraham and Charles S. Dutton from Rudy on a very special 311 day episode. Come for the middling 90's action movie but stay for the 311 hits.
Would you pink or stink mackerel pasta? Find out on this episode that we did for superfan Andreas Brunvoll.
We're talking stuffing pitas and Hatsutashi. Merry Christmas.
What do the Wizard of Oz, Hereditary, Robocop, Dumb and Dumber and Valentine's Day have in common? They're all mentioned in this episode about Hocus Pocus. Plus Dan Miller returns for his 3rd consecutive Spooktober and Magic Mike phones it in - literally and figuratively.
Spooktober is back and Jerry O'Connell has long hair but wouldn't it be neat if Ali Larter was bald?
On this week's very special Bastille Day Special we are talking about 1997's Anaconda. We also discuss if Pollard could let a bear murder him for money and peepees. Lots and lots of peepee talk. So what're you waiting for - click Play now and you might even hear Brandon do an impression of Jon Voight.
Joseph Gordon Levitt stars as an orphan.
Former Wagon Wheel busboy, Steven Seagal, is an ex-special forces cajun chef. Tommy Lee Jones is an ex-CIA blues harmonica player and terrorist. Gary Busey is Miss July, 1989, and Colm Meaney is just happy to be invited. What happens when these titans tango? Go Qball, Go Cueball, Go! Go Qball, Go Cueball, Go!
The third and final chapter of the Home Alone saga takes a dark turn off a cliff in Maine. Elijah Wood wears a kangol hat and David Morse is a stone cold fox. Suck beach, bitch.
Grab a glass of wine lady cause we're talking about Under The Tuscan Sun!
There is a bomb in Centennial Park - you have 30 minutes....to press play on this episode of 5GFA or we will do more Clint Eastwood films.
On this weeks episode we mostly listen to bad music and skip categories.
Count all the songs used in this episode and then email your guess to 5guysflickingaround@gmail.com to win a chance at a shout-out on our next episode.
Twarnold Twinzenegger and Twinny DeVito play twins. One of them absconded with a German scientist to a remote Pacific island, but remained a virgin, while the other banged a nun. There's lots of twinning around, rules, and a whole lotta chains. You don't try to renegotiate with old beetroot, and you don't try to shoot Kelly Preston in the arm. 1988's Twins.
Get on your knees and tell me your not excited about this Christmas classic made even more special by the fact that one of us knows the Bird Trainer on the movie.
Tom Cruise and Elizabeth Shoebags star in a Heywood Gould production where the Beach Boys got a golden globe nomination for best original song for their cover of the Muppets classic "Kokomo"....and have ya seen Robin Williams dick?
John Travoltcember rolls along as he plays a rogue fighter pilot in an all-time great villain performance who hijacks a nuclear weapon and holds the southwest ransom. Did we mention Bob Gunton and Howie Long are in the film? Finally, on a serious note, we apologize in advance if Brandon's lack of respect for park rangers is offensive.
The movie is sometimes confused with the 1980 film Hog Wild, despite having significantly different plots and themes, though both movies do feature motorcycles.
Midgets, pickaxes and the dying coal industry. Spooky.
Road Head + Dead Gypsy = Thin Curse & Brandon Osorio classic.
Spooktober is back! And what's spookier than some high school students getting brainwashed so that they are smart instead of being cool and doing drugs. Well lots of things but at least this movie has an albino in it.
Stay cool, bird boys. This week we're doing 1997's Batman and Robin. Take a listen, inhale those pheromones, and don't cancel the pizzas.
Lotta shark talk. Even more Michael Caine talk.
Sex, drugs and insurance. Nobody likes Ed Helms but John C. Reilly is a cool guy.
Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Oscar 21 times - her performance in "The River Wild" is not one of them. The good news is that Kevin Bacon and John C. Reily are in this movie and who doesn't love them?

From the vault: This episode comes from a deep dive into the 5GFA archives - similar to what Nic Cage does in the National Treasure movies and he was also in this movie from 1997 with longer hair and a lot more to prove.
How many blind swordsmen does it take to cut down an entire cornfield full of benchmen? Only Rutger Hauer knows for sure. He plays Nick Parker in this action movie that straddles the lines between 80s cheesiness and 90s complexity; between full on adventure and self-aware comedy; between Over The Top and Roadhouse. Also, he's blind?!
1995’s Tommy Boy is a nuanced and foreboding examination of the dying auto industry and the corresponding communities who depend on it, set against the challenges created by nepotism in a capitalist society and a sprinkle of managing adults with diminished capacity in the workplace. Chris Farley and David Spade’s performances buttress a film which 25 years later resonates as a warning sign we all missed but can still learn from.
In this 1993 Rowdy Harrington film Bruce Willis plays an aging cop with a knee brace and a drinking problem. When his father who is also a cop is murdered Bruce rats out of his partner and ends up on river patrol where he discovers all his old girlfriends are being murdered. He has sex with his partner, does cocaine, is constantly reminded of his drinking problem and wins the Detillo cop of the year award.
Twinsie Lohan, Dennis Quaid, and Chessy The Maid star in this 1998 Disney classic remake which explores what happens when two extremely affluent family's deepest secrets come out while also celebrating red heads.
When a man's daughter is murdered he goes to a cliff a year later to murder the man who killed her. While there 4 teens run him over with their car and stupidly try to cover it up - only the dad didn't die. The next summer the dad kills 3 innocent civilians while attempting to unsuccessfully kill the 4 teens who tried to cover up their wrongdoing. Also Pete Sampras's wife is in it.
Love is in the air and by love I mean not really love. Have you ever wanted to go back to 2010? Well you’re in luck because Valentines Day can take you there!
John Travolta is definitely a stalker and he gets creepy and weird. Devon Sawa plays a very successful movie star (that HAD to hurt), Dora's dead, it might be raining, lots of sniffing stuff, and also this movie was written and directed by Fred Durst, so there’s that. The run time is like 90 min and we ended up talking about it for three and half hours. So much stuff. Enjoy!
Bradley Cooper stars (much to Mike's chagrin) in this 2021 movie about a man who gets addicted to pills when he bumps into his ex-brother in law on the street which makes him more smarterer. We discuss at length the famous Van Loon Van Luncheon and do our best Men In Black impersonations.
When the court tells Robin Williams he can’t see his kids, he does the logical thing and: disrupts his ex wife’s attempt to hire a nanny, dresses up like a 60 year old British woman, uses inside information to dupe his ex wife into hiring his alter ego as the nanny and tries to kill James Bond.
In this movie John C. Reilly plays a divorcee with a kid who can't act, John Hawkes is in love with Rusty Schwimmer, William Fitchner does his best McSullivan impression, Mark Whalburg can telepathically communicate with Diane Lane, George Clooney tries to bed Dr. Linda Greenlaw and prove he CAN in fact catch fish - and finally we know you don't care about Juan Pierre but he was also on the boat and he....dies. Talk about a Perfect Storm
A who's-who of 5GFA regulars star in this ivy-league, secret-society thriller. The ultimate mystery to be solved: do Joshua Jackson and Paul Walker have the same butt?
A 9 year old boy with a penchant for shoplifting and torturing burgalars befriends the neighborhood diddler in this Christmas classic.
