There's no Ezra this week, beloved listeners, so Helena and Matty decided to use this time to catch up on what we've seen in a very long overdue What We Sneep episode! Matty goes first (as they have less to cover, per usual), which includes covering their month of renting multiple dvds before watching two movies back to back that were so bad they just stopped watching movies full stop. They also played a lot of Skyrim, which they do not recommend. Helena goes next, covering a much wider group of films across a variety of genres, most of which were actually good and didn't make her stop watching movies. This does include several Looney Tunes shorts, which she DOES recommend! The episode takes a turn at the end to complain about fandom, capitalism, and how media companies really just want your money and won't really give you what you want in the end because they just see you as money making machines. Yippee! Our duo also watched Anaconda (1997) together. No they have not seen the remake. Yes they do spend a lot of time this episode talking about Anaconda. Brace yourselves.

On this episode of We're No Dam Experts, Rebecca and Shannon welcome back Megan Sanford, Archives and Operations Manager at The History Museum & Research Center, to discuss her new book, The Anaconda Copper Mining Company of Great Falls. From 1892 to 1982, Great Falls was home to one of the most important copper smelting and refining operations in the world. Megan shares the story of the plant's impact on the community, the people who worked there, and the legacy it left behind. She also offers a behind-the-scenes look at the research process, revealing how photographs, artifacts, and personal accounts helped bring this fascinating chapter of Montana and American industrial history to life. In this episode of Partnerships Unraveled, we sit down with Barry Russell, Senior Vice-President of Partnerships at Anaconda. Barry helped build AWS Marketplace from a two-pizza team into a global business, spent time at Microsoft and several data-space startups, and has spent just over a year at Anaconda translating that experience into how AI solutions reach enterprise customers at scale.Barry opens with the principle he carried directly out of AWS Marketplace: remove as much friction as possible between where the customer is and the outcome they are trying to reach. At Marketplace, that meant letting customers try software quickly before committing to a multi-year contract. In the AI era, he sees the same dynamic: enterprises want to deploy agents fast, prove they deliver the outcome, and move confidently into production. Anaconda ensures that the open-source components developers use to build AI applications are secure by default, so teams can move from experimentation to production without hitting security roadblocks along the way. What is actually breaking between POC and production comes down to two things: system dependencies that work in a dev environment often do not match what production needs, and CISO teams flagging vulnerability concerns in open-source components. Anaconda addresses both by ensuring the assets a team uses in experimentation carry into production unchanged, with ongoing visibility into vulnerabilities. Barry draws a practical distinction: it is completely fine to discover that an AI application needs a different model or some adjustment. What organizations cannot afford is releasing agents carrying underlying security vulnerabilities. Getting the foundation right from the start is what makes fast, confident iteration possible. With 95% of the Fortune 500 already using Anaconda for data science and machine learning, the company arrives at the AI moment as a trusted workflow layer, ready to help customers close the gap between experimentation and production at the pace the market demands._________________________Learn more about Channext

This episode is part reptile rant, part movie review, and fully opinionated. We're sharing our thoughts on the new Anaconda movie and breaking down all the wild stereotypes and misinformation it pushes about anacondas and large snakes in general. From exaggerated behavior to the classic “giant man-eating monster snake” trope, we talk about what the movie gets wrong, why these portrayals matter, and how they shape public perception of reptiles. Then we switch gears completely and review The Devil Wears Prada 2… which, unlike the snake movie, we absolutely loved. We talk favorite moments, characters, fashion, and why it somehow managed to live up to the hype.Get early access to episodes: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-wild-type-podcast/subscribeFollow the podcast: - https://www.instagram.com/thewildtypepodcast/- https://www.tiktok.com/@thewildtypepodcast- Merch: https://the-wild-type-podcast-llc-shop.fourthwall.com/Follow Neptune the Chameleon:- https://www.youtube.com/c/NeptunetheChameleon/- http://instagram.com/neptunethechameleon- https://tiktok.com/@neptunethechameleon- http://facebook.com/neptunethechameleon- https://www.neptunethechameleon.comFollow Lyssa's Lizards:- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmZaN6Q4yOt1j36J0-Ml6LQ- https://www.instagram.com/lyssaslizards- https://www.tiktok.com/@lyssaslizards- https://m.facebook.com/p/Lyssas-Lizards-100064470381677/- https://www.lyssaslizards.comSponsors:- https://www.pangeareptile.com/wildtype- https://coldbloodedcaffeine.com/- https://symtonbsf.com/- https://reptilekages.com/- https://thebiodude.com/- https://reptilinks.com/- https://frostbitefeeders.com/- https://arcadiareptile.com/?utm_source=the_wild_type&utm_medium=podcast

Alan Mack flew Chinooks for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment for seventeen years. Chief Warrant Officer 5. Senior MH-47 pilot. Flight lead. Instructor. He was the pilot in command of Razor 03 on Takur Ghar — the aircraft shot up trying to insert a SEAL element on top of the mountain that became Roberts Ridge. He has logged over 6,700 flight hours, took rounds through his cockpit on Anaconda, ran fog approaches into walled compounds in Iraq, and helped write the procedures the Night Stalkers still use to land in zero visibility. After retiring, he commanded the flight detachment at West Point and spent a decade running emergency management for a New York county. He is the author of Razor 03 and the upcoming Chinooks in the Dark. We cover the new Medal of Honor awarded to a 160th pilot and what it actually takes to earn one. The Anaconda shoot down — RPG, lost hydraulics, three cans of fluid, and a crew chief pumping a t-handle to keep him in the controls. Why he chose to dive at a Dishka instead of climbing. The myth around Extortion 17 and why the conspiracy doesn't hold up. How the unit trains pilots to fly through real lead. Air refueling at night in the weather. Cutting hoses with rotor blades. And the lessons every pilot — military or civilian — needs to internalize before the aircraft starts shedding systems on them. From Owen Wilson's early acting missteps to Ice Cube's scene-stealing commentary, nothing is off-limits.     Along the way, they share hilarious personal stories, behind-the-scenes reflections, and why this film remains a must-watch for anyone who loves chaotic, nostalgic entertainment.     If you love over-the-top thrillers, accidental comedy, and pure 90s energy, this episode is your perfect excuse to put your books down and press play.

Update on our week: This week on FreeFormNetwork Radio, the crew dives headfirst into a mix of nostalgia, controversy, and the future of entertainment—and trust us, it gets wild. Noel kicks things off with a deep dive into underrated horror, spotlighting Summer of '84 and the OG Black Christmas (1974)—breaking down what makes these films stand the test of time and why old-school storytelling still hits harder than modern slashers. From eerie small-town paranoia to chilling phone calls, this segment is a must for horror fans. Daniel brings the laughs with a review of the unexpected comedy twist in the new Anaconda film, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd. Is it a worthy successor or just a nostalgic cash grab? Plus, the guys take a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about their own homemade movies and creative beginnings. Gaming gets its shine as Noel finally conquers Super Mario Bros. 3, sparking a conversation about classic games, replay value, and why some titles never lose their magic. But things take a turn when the Andy tackles some heavy topics:

Wow… this week on the Scary Spirits Podcast, we're sliding back into the jungle for a seriously wild celebration of the 1997 cult creature feature Anaconda—yeah, that Anaconda—which slithered into theaters on April 11, 1997, starring Jennifer Lopez and a whole lot of oversized snake energy. It's one of those late‑'90s horror-adventure movies that just makes you lean back and go, “Wow… they really don't make 'em like this anymore.” Join Karen and Greg as they kick back, talk man‑eating serpents, jungle paranoia, and all the gloriously over-the-top moments that helped make Anaconda a staple of '90s horror films. And because it's Scary Spirits, they're pairing the episode with a dangerously fun, themed “Blue Anaconda” cocktail that's as bold and unforgettable as the movie itself. So grab a drink, hit play, and wrap yourself around this laid‑back, laugh-filled deep dive into one of the most memorable creature horror movies of the decade. Wow… trust us—you're gonna want to listen. Blue Anaconda • 2/3 oz coconut rum• 2/3 oz vanilla vodka• 1 oz blue curaçao• 1 oz milk/cream Instructions: Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well until chilled. Strain into a glass (typically a coupe or cocktail glass). Source: Common Man Cocktails A Brief Synopsis: Filmmaker Terri Flores is traveling deep in the Amazon jungle looking for a forgotten tribe. Terri and her crew, which includes an anthropologist and a cameraman, come across Paul, who is stranded on the riverbank. He offers to help them find the tribe, but his secretive behavior puts everyone on edge. They realize too late that he’s using them to find a legendary anaconda that’s worth a fortune — if they can catch it. Some of the topics discussed and highlights of this episode include: Naturally, we learn all about anacondas. Dr. Karen (the geography expert) tells us all about the Amazon River. Tragically, we hear about the Candiru catfish. We will never forget. Does dynamite detonate if it’s wet? tune in to find out. Our rating of the film: This movie was OK. No other band with roots in Swedish death metal did it like Comecon. Not even close. We find a few similarities to Carbonized, but generally, this band is unique, special, and underappreciated enough that we had to come to their rescue for a little over an hour. Headed by brainiacs Pelle Strom and Rasmus Ekman, Comecon cycled through three different vocalists over three different albums (L.G. Petrov, Martin van Drunen, Marc Grewe), and if you have any interest in death metal with a distinct difference, please give this episode a listen… Note I: Listener challenge!! As mentioned in this episode: if you have a solid working knowledge of Comecon-related bands The Krixhjalters and Omnitron, assemble a 10-song episode, 5 songs each band, about 2 minutes per snippet (you can just send us titles and time codes). We'll do an episode on it! We are sadly ignorant of these bands, but really should know them, given our love of Comecon. ALSO: Enter the Hunt isn't directly related to Comecon, as Jeff surmised. It did feature Pontius, of Krixhjalters, and indeed, two members of Candlemass from our beloved Dactylis Glomerata/From the 13th Sun period. We still have so much to learn. Note II: Speaking of having much to learn: we're not exactly up on the entire vinyl reissue scene, because we didn't know Comecon's Fable Frolic was released with the original logo, as Jeff mentions in this episode. Lookie here! https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/30811545 Note III: Jeff's Voivod book, ‘Always Moving: The Strange Multiverse of Voivod,' is now available. We examine these creatures and talk to the researchers studying them.Joining us on this week's show:Terry Cullen's career in conservation began long before he stepped into a university lecture hall, sparked by a childhood fascination that saw him conducting fieldwork by age 13. By 17, he was already navigating the ecosystems of South America and the Caribbean, gathering the field experience that would define his life's work. In the summer of 1964, Terry founded the Dragonwood Wildlife Conservancy, a visionary project that has evolved over six decades from a modest sanctuary into a massive 400-acre Florida nature reserve supported by four satellite facilities across the United States. To complement his decades of hands-on experience, Terry pursued formal degrees in Zoology and Environmental Science, cementing his status as a leading expert in herpetology. His influence now spans the globe through senior roles in prestigious organizations like the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group and the Species Survival Commission (SSC). From pioneering crocodilian DNA research to leading the Philippine crocodile conservation initiative, Terry has spent over 60 years bridging the gap between adventurous exploration and critical scientific preservation.Dragonwood Conservancy Websitehttps://www.dragonwoodconservancy.org/Click that play button, and let's unravel the mysteries of the UNTOLD!
