There's no Ezra this week, beloved listeners, so Helena and Matty decided to use this time to catch up on what we've seen in a very long overdue What We Sneep episode! Matty goes first (as they have less to cover, per usual), which includes covering their month of renting multiple dvds before watching two movies back to back that were so bad they just stopped watching movies full stop. They also played a lot of Skyrim, which they do not recommend. Helena goes next, covering a much wider group of films across a variety of genres, most of which were actually good and didn't make her stop watching movies. This does include several Looney Tunes shorts, which she DOES recommend! Alan Mack flew Chinooks for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment for seventeen years. Chief Warrant Officer 5. Senior MH-47 pilot. Flight lead. Instructor. He was the pilot in command of Razor 03 on Takur Ghar — the aircraft shot up trying to insert a SEAL element on top of the mountain that became Roberts Ridge. He has logged over 6,700 flight hours, took rounds through his cockpit on Anaconda, ran fog approaches into walled compounds in Iraq, and helped write the procedures the Night Stalkers still use to land in zero visibility. No other band with roots in Swedish death metal did it like Comecon. Not even close. We find a few similarities to Carbonized, but generally, this band is unique, special, and underappreciated enough that we had to come to their rescue for a little over an hour. Headed by brainiacs Pelle Strom and Rasmus Ekman, Comecon cycled through three different vocalists over three different albums (L.G. Petrov, Martin van Drunen, Marc Grewe), and if you have any interest in death metal with a distinct difference, please give this episode a listen… Note I: Listener challenge!!
