Running. You might say it's like walking but faster... Now imagine running for 26.2 miles! That would be a marathon, right? Sure. Now double it. 52.4 miles!? That would qualify as an ultramarathon! But we're not stopping there. Special guest, Cabe Waldrop, tells us a little story about a man named Gordy Ainsleigh who ran 100 miles (in a race for HORSES) to see what the human body, some buttermilk, and a little gumption could do. We're talking about the FIRST ULTRAMARATHON! Plus, the Mouthgarf Report and I See What You Did There! THE IRONCLAD GUARANTEE OF THE GOSPEL (1 Corinthians 15:1-8) Today, on this Easter Sunday morning, I want to talk to you about The Ironclad Guarantee of The Gospel. Easter is not about bunnies, and baskets, and baked hams. Easter is about the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am not saying that we cannot celebrate Easter with candy and easter egg hunts. To this day, as old as we are, my wife loves to hide eggs for our grown kids and grandchildren. I feel the same way about celebrating Christmas with Santa Clause and presents. However, I am saying that when we do celebrate these very special religious holidays, we need to remember, and make it a priority, to celebrate the real reason for the season, the birth, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the great and wonderful things about a study of the gospels is that every sermon that Jesus gave, every parable that Jesus used, every miracle that Jesus performed, and every teaching moment that Jesus had with His disciples, was pointing toward the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the reason that Jesus stepped out of the throne room of God and became God incarnate in man. The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit had planned this event from the foundation of the world. And this is the culmination of that plan. The death, burial, and resurrection, of our Lord form the foundation of our faith. It is imperative that each of us understand the importance these events have on our salvation. For without the death and burial of Jesus Christ, our sins would not be forgiven; And without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, death and sin would not be conquered, we would not have eternal life with God, and we would not have Jesus Christ as our High Priest sitting on the right hand of God. The amazing love and power of the one true God is on display in these events as nowhere else in the Bible. Forget, the splitting of the Red Sea, the daily miracles displayed by Jesus as he walked on this earth, or Jonah being swallowed by the whale. When God sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins, and then displayed His awesome power in the resurrection of His Son, just so that we might be able to live with Him forever, that was an act of true love and power. Nobody has ever, or will ever, love you like God loves you. Click on the play button below to hear a message on the ironclad guarantee of the gospel message of Jesus Christ. This is a live recording of The Master's Class Bible Study at LifeChange Church Wichita, KS. Amen.

It can work, but it's so much easier when you release the parking brake (limiting beliefs). When we start asking questions we can start finding solutionsMetaphor - the Santa Clause effect. We once believed in Santa and thought we had sufficient evidence that he was real, but then we began to question that belief and realized there was another explanation. Then it was easy to stop that belief. Likewise, we create stories about ourselves and the world that we believe. Years ago, I knew a priest with a long gray beard. People referred to him as the Santa Clause priest. He was very inspirational. Soon after I was ordained, I talked to him about my early struggles in the priesthood. For example, when I got yelled at because the youth group got into the bingo... In this episode, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1999 to pick a teen high school romantic comedy loosely based on one of the more controversial plays by history's most celebrated playwright, William Shakespeare. Now, Shakespeare is of course ubiquitously revered as the greatest writer the English language has ever known, but it's worth asking from time to time, did any of his plays contain motorcycle stunts, ska music, outdoor paintball, high school students inexplicably dressed as cowboys, Seattle's Fremont Troll sculpture, a large penis drawn on the face of the head elf from The Santa Clause, or Larry Miller rattling off hip-hop slang? Tragically, no, they did not. But, luckily for literature lovers the world over, the writers of The House Bunny and the director of the Martin Lawrence vehicle Black Knight eventually came along to correct these grievous oversights on the Bard of Avon's part. In recent times, David Krumholtz has appeared in Oppenheimer onscreen and Leopoldstadt on Broadway…but Jessie and Leonard first became fans watching him in films like The Santa Clause, Liberty Heights, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Slums of Beverly Hills. He is the very definition of a working actor—on stage, film and television (where he spent five years as the star of NUMB3RZ), with a healthy outlook on his profession and its peccadilloes.

Does believing in Santa make kids act better? A study at Oxford, Durham, Edinburgh and Leeds Universities has some shocking results. With Christmas just a few days away, the 633rd episode on this Have You Ever Seen channel is the right time to talk about one of the funniest holiday movies. The Santa Clause is not just a consistent laugh-getter. It's also touching...and those are 2 good reasons the flick has been so rewatchable. Tim Allen made his film debut in John Pasquin's blockbuster and it's like we said about Galaxy Quest: cast him in the right role and it's hard to think of anyone better. He's the bad dad who's forced into being the jolly man in red...but was it all a set-up? We talk a lot about that. We also talked a lot about The Santa Clause 2, since we watched that a few days later. So bring your broken family together at the holidays, call off your amber alert (not "orange" alert) and use a snow globe to get your dad to come home from work as we have a good old time yapping about The Santa Clause. Order some Sparkplug Coffee for your New Year's party...or just because it's good and the holidays don't need to determine your drinking options. Our "HYES" promo code will save you 20%. So it's "sparkplug.coffee/hyes". Rate and review our podcast and subscribe to it in your app. Look for us on YouTube. It's "@hyesellis" in your browser. Email us (haveyoueverseenpodcast@gmail.com). Contrary to what you might believe, the origins of Santa Clause go WAY back further in history than Saint Nicholas. In today's episode I'm going to uncover many of the modern traditions of Christmas, along with explaining how December 25th is actually the birthday of the oldest pagan God. And - spoiler alert - he's also connected to Santa. The holiday season is upon us, and everyone's misbehaving! This week, Trevin kicks things off with a festive TV show recommendation perfect for any Christmas binge, while Amanda shares her struggle after buying an Elf on the Shelf so small it could hide in a snowflake—meet Frost Pips! Before diving into the chaos, the crew exchanges Christmas presents, where Amanda receives a fun surprise, and Trevin delivers a gift so huge it might just steal the show.Next, the crew unwraps a Top 5 Holiday Edition filled with bizarre and petty Christmas facts. Was there a prequel to The Grinch Who Stole Christmas? What's the surprisingly petty history behind Christmas caroling? And did someone really write a Christmas song about... pooping presents?Story Time delivers two shockingly selfish holiday crimes. Amanda tells the tale of Shaina Hudson, a mother of five who woke up to a Grinch-like thief stealing her family's Christmas gifts. Trevin follows up with the story of a mischievous South Carolina kid whose quest for a GameBoy Advance SP takes a hilariously selfish turn. Both stories reveal just how far people will go to steal—from themselves—during the holidays.Don't be a ho ho ho this season! I addition to our year end Christmas Music spectacular game we are pleased to bring you our review of "The Christmas Chronicles" movie starring Kurt Russell. This movie may portray the coolest onscreen Santa ever...and he even knows how to drift a Challenger! This review originally aired in KF Show #281 in 2023. Movie Summary: Two kids who have lost their dad to tragedy are on the very edge of tragedy themselves…the tragedy of not believing! Teddy the older brother is turning to crime, and Katy the younger sister is innocent. They catch Santa in the act at their house, jump in his sleigh, scare the bejesus out of him, lose the reindeer and the presents, crash the sleigh, steal a red 2009 Dodge Challenger, jump it, end up in jail, then a chop shop, and then have to get it all back together by Christmas morning or the world explodes. Even worse, during the chaos they also lost Santa's magic hat, which is the think that makes the sleigh fly! At the end though they make it just in time to Save Christmas and Santa finally reveals (in the coolest of Kurt Russell moves) that the hat was a ruse. As Santa Claus himself could (of course) fly the whole time and the whole crazy night was to show Teddy - who was suffering from the loss of his dad - how regain the belief in something himself, and something far bigger. If you're only in it for the cars, the Challenger shines wonderfully. We believe Four Star Motorsports did the prep....and we THINK we have identified the Canadian stunt driver too! In this episode of Normal World, Dave Landau, 1/4 Black Garrett, and Angela kick things off with a lively debate about Christmas movies like The Santa Clause, Die Hard, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, leading to wild tales of theater mishaps and rowdy audiences. Dave shares gritty memories of growing up near Detroit, painting a vivid picture of the stark divide between affluent suburbs and crumbling neighborhoods. A chilling story about discovering a dog's severed head in a waterway underscores the harsh realities of life in the city. The conversation dives into Detroit's infamous corruption under former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who misused city funds to finance his lavish lifestyle. Scandals like the alleged murder of Tamara Green, a stripper linked to Kilpatrick, reveal the darker side of his administration, as detailed in Charlie LeDuff's Detroit: An American Autopsy. The episode shifts gears to lighter moments as the hosts explore Jamie Foxx's Netflix special, where he opens up about his stroke recovery, dating white women and puts to rest bizarre internet rumors, including speculation about his connection to P Diddy. Thanksgiving is over and now we're heading into Christmas season! Today we touch on financial planning, likening it to solving a maze by starting at the end: envisioning life goals and working backward to build a plan. We talk about the concept of a "Misogi" or a major annual goal to focus on, aligning it with strategies like bucket lists and planning retirement activities early to maximize fulfillment. Financial freedom isn't just about amassing wealth but about enabling experiences and meaningful life choices and these choices are even important during Christmas! Today we discuss... Time is the most valuable resource because it cannot be created or extended, unlike money. Social engagement and new activities are crucial for mental well-being, especially in retirement. Retirement follows five stages, from anticipation to reflection on health and family as priorities. Over-spending is common in the early retirement phase due to increased free time and enthusiasm. Financial planning should begin with identifying life goals and working backward to achieve them. A "bucket list" approach helps ensure meaningful experiences are prioritized early in life. Start financial planning by envisioning retirement goals and deconstructing them into actionable steps. Inflation, taxes, market volatility, longevity, liquidity, and spending are critical risks to consider in financial planning. Longevity compounds other risks like inflation, taxes, and volatility, making it crucial to plan for extended lifespans. Extending working years is another strategy, but it is subject to factors like health and employment opportunities. Spending adjustments are a common way people adapt to financial limitations, underscoring human resilience. Behavioral finance plays a significant role in managing wealth and mitigating emotional biases. Leveraging Bitcoin or other assets on a company's balance sheet can offer growth opportunities but requires careful risk assessment. Many financial planners fail to address college and housing costs effectively, leading to unnecessary wealth loss. A long-term focus and proactive planning are essential for achieving financial and familial goals. Were pleased to bring you our favorite review on the only Dukes of Hazzard Christmas episode, S3E9 title the Great Santa Claus Chase. This review originally aired in KF Show #247 in 2022. Christmas Dukes Review: Somehow, an episode that has next to no General Lee in it…..is so endearing and charming it must be due to Christmas magic! In this episode they choose to re-enact the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. This is the tale of "Scrooge Hogg" stealing Christmas trees from Hazzard citizens and the Duke boys and Crazy Cooter stealing them back to deliver them in Santa Claus suits. Not good enough? In a nod to childlike happiness, the three bad guys in the episode also wear Santa Claus suits….meaning there are 6 Santas onscreen at one time. When the bad guys in Santa suits get caught, Cletus calls them "Merry Men!" The Boars Nest is decorated, proving that Christmas decorations at dive bars make them extra cheery. Better yet, there are carols, hot chocolate, and this episode ends on a message of what Christmas is all about; unconditional forgiveness…..topped off by some jingle bells flying overhead by (possibly) a certain jolly old Elf. In today's episode of the Atheist Experience, Forrest Valkai and The Cross Examiner, walk Jackie through some thought processes of his own before encountering questions of existence with some New Age sprinkles.Jackie in MS was not able to answer Forrest's question of whether he has any of his own thoughts. It goes absolutely nowhere when this happens. Jackie agrees not to mention the names of philosophers and to answer the hosts' questions. He argues that the existence of metaphysical things associated with religion are the reason for religion being a positive thing. What is an example of a good point you have made regarding these things? Why do you think people listening to this conversation will become convinced to believe in a god? Why do you believe a god exists? What created god that is more complicated than god? Why does the universe need a god to do what it does? Not knowing how something could have happened is not a basis to make a conclusion in the version that you like. Not only is there a magical explanation, but you know the dude that did it, and believe we must hate trans people! This could be a product from your environment, and Jackie, you deserve better than this. George in Bulgaria claims that god is pure existence and we are eternal beings. What does pure existence mean? If we agree that things exist, how do you get from there to a god or to eternal beings? What would happen to existence, if a person was born that never reacted with anyone or anything else? What does your god want you to do? If god is asleep, why should we care? What is the evidence for our consciousness producing reality? Why is this better than just saying reality exists? How can your belief be falsified? A god that does not interact with the universe is indistinguishable from a god that does not exist. What can be gained knowledge wise by testing this?Ibrahim in the USA, converted to Islam, and wants to know the strongest arguments against god. Would you say that the burden should be on us to prove things like Santa Clause are not real? When you get into the business of arguing about god, you get into different versions of god. If this god does exist, what kind of god is it? If half of the things that the Abrahamic god is said to have done are true, he is a monster. The amount of evil and suffering this god has allowed is atrocious. This is not a religion of morality, but a religion of threats. Why would somebody believe something that is not true when there is harm associated with it? If someone could convince you to believe in absurdities, they can also make you commit atrocities. The real danger sets in when you think you know what that god wants; this is when we start seeing cults, the Crusades, and the Dark Ages. Why does god not fix the suffering in the world and why did he not choose to create a universe where this did not need to happen? The hosts are joined by Ben Clodfelter to close out the show. Thank you for tuning in this week! Question of the week is: What is an underquoted scripture at a funeral?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-atheist-experience--3254896/support.
