She earned the respect of her colleagues by knowing when and how to be direct or tough, vulnerable or sensitive. She has never apologized for who she is, like when she proudly stood shoulder-to-shoulder with an Ivy League grad questioning her worth as a Slippery Rock alum, and she has never compromised on what she knows to be right, like when it comes to managing people with integrity.
