Welcome to the Lead. Learn. Grow. podcast, where we explore the intersections of busieness, education, technology, and personal growth. I caught up with my friend Paul Mylott, a veteran in higher education and the co-founder behind the innovative AI-driven startup Oblio. Our conversation dives deep into Paul's journey, the birth of Oblio, and the profound impacts of personalization in education and beyond. Paul Mylott brings over three decades of experience in higher education, having served as a vice president in several institutions. His work primarily focused on the advancement side, but his roles have also covered admissions, giving him a holistic view of the student journey. Paul's latest venture, Oblio, is an AI inbox tool designed to enhance engagement and communication within higher education. Oblio emerged from Paul's realization of the fragmented nature of the student experience in higher education. By combining his insights into behavioral chain philanthropy and the potential of AI, Paul aimed to create a solution that ensures a seamless journey for students from admission through to alumni engagement. Oblio's mission is to increase enrollment and foster a more personalized connection between institutions and their students, ultimately leading to a higher yield of engaged alumni and donors. Leadership Lessons Reflecting on his career and life experiences, Paul emphasizes the importance of aligning personal and organizational goals, the value of mentorship, and the transformative power of personal challenges. His story is a testament to the impact of innovative leadership and the potential of technology to transform traditional industries. Listeners interested in learning more about Oblio or exploring potential collaborations can reach Paul via LinkedIn or directly through his email at paul@oblio.ai. *** You can connect with Robin Green by emailing him at robin.green@sandler.com or connect with him on LinkedIn. *** You can subscribe to The Huddle, a weekly leadership newsletter, by visiting here.

Buddy Biancalana is one of approximately 1,600 players that have been drafted in the first round since the draft began in 1965. With the weight of expectations, pressure to perform, and the demands of being a professional athlete, Buddy quickly rose through the Kansas City Royals minor league system - from Rookie League to the Major Leagues - in five years. As a part-time player, Buddy was what the baseball world calls a "good field-no hit" player, playing the demanding shortstop position. Then, late in the 1985 season, Royals manager Dick Howser inserted him in the lineup late in the year, and he played the best baseball of his life. He was a key contributor in helping the Royals win their first World Series. As he shares in our conversation, the pressure of the World Series was immense. Literally, the entire world was watching. Yet, as you'll hear, Buddy says he was as calm as he'd ever been. And he played flawless defense and hit better than he'd ever hit before. Later, he realized that he'd had an "In the zone" experience. This experience, along with a childhood incident that Buddy shares in our conversation, led him to begin to study the brain-body connection. Now, as the founder of Zone Motion, he helps athletes and executives have "in the zone" experiences in a more intentional way, rather than by chance. You can buy Buddy's book, The 7 Secrets of World Class Athletes, here. *** You can contact Robin Green at robin.green@sandler.com. *** If you like this podcast, you may also like Robin's weekly leadership newsletter, The Huddle. Join me as I speak in a great conversation with Jenn Drummond of Park City, UT. A car accident in 2018 left Jenn awestruck and emboldened. Rescue workers couldn't imagine any scenario where she came out of it alive, but she did. That's when she realized you don't get to choose when you leave this life…but you sure can choose how you live it. Strengthened by this awareness, she set out to live in a more authentic and adventurous way. Inspired to climb a mountain for her birthday, her son raised the stakes by suggesting Mount Everest. Not one to back down from a challenge, she accepted the pursuit. During her training, her coach upped the ante and proposed that she go for a Guinness World Record and become the first woman to climb the 7 second summits. The pursuit matched her desire to live a life of significance, not just success. Today, Jenn is a world record holder who elevates others to master their own summit in life. She's a successful business owner and mom of seven kids who, as you will hear, inspire and brazenly challenge her. She's also an international speaker, author, and host of the "Seek Your Summit" podcast, which focuses on inspiring others to go beyond success to a life of significance. You can find out more about Jenn at jenndrummond.com. On this week's edition of Soaring Child, Robin Green shows us how an ancient Chinese healing technique can help kids with ADHD. Robin is an author, speaker, educator and founder of Pediatric Healing Arts, as well as a pediatric specialist in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. The unfortunate reality is that kids are getting sicker today instead of healthier. Much of it has to do with unprecedented levels of toxic exposure in our environment including EMFs, poor food quality, and pollution. This affects our kids' ability to get the sleep and nutrients they need, which in turn affects their overall health. Toxic exposure shows itself behaviorally and emotionally through hyperactivity, aggression, defiant behaviors, and ADHD. So how do you get the nervous system to come back into balance? Acupuncture and acupressure are great ways to restore the flow of energy and re-align the body so those negative behaviors and emotions neutralize. The healing techniques of acupressure and acupuncture have been around for more than 3,000 years. Applying pressure, or inserting tiny needles at meridian points in the body, helps to restore balance and relieve pain. For kids with ADHD, acupuncture and acupressure trigger that relaxation response that helps a child get balanced again. These treatments can relieve headaches, regulate the nervous system, and help a child focus. You can also tap or press on the area between the eyebrows to relieve tension and stress in your child. When kids get a little older, pediatric needles are very effective, and kids don't even feel them because they are so tiny. Phototherapy patches can also be helpful. Finding a doctor who uses an array of these modalities is ideal so treatment can be tailored to your child specifically. Key Takeaways: [9:14] How acupuncture works [10:47] Using acupressure on the ear with ear seeds that are like jewelry [17:34] Wave phototherapy patches for kids and how they work [19:03] How families determine what modality is right for their child [20:03] What to look for in an acupuncturist [21:14] Licensing for acupuncturists [21:59] Finding your child's power foods [23:22] When to start treatment [25:07] Avoiding gluten and eating healthy foods How To Connect With Robin Green: https://www.robinraygreen.com/ https://www.robingreenacupuncture.com/ https://www.acupuncturepediatrics.com/ https://www.healthyseminars.com/bio/robin-ray-green https://www.instagram.com/pediatrichealingarts/?hl=en Memorable Quotes: “We're seeing unprecedented levels of toxic exposure, of EMF exposure, which can in even tiny amounts affect the developing brain and affect our children's ability to get a good, deep restful sleep.” “We're also experiencing dramatic changes in the quality of our food. The food that's supposed to be nourishing our bodies, even when we're eating organic, is just not giving the nutrients we were getting even 20, 30 years ago.” “Using acupuncture and pressure stimulation is a very gentle, easy way that children can accept that will be very balancing to their nervous system.” “Ear seeds are a perfect way to stimulate the meridian points, balance the nervous system, and address conditions in a ‘set it and forget it' way.” “Children's bodies have so much energy because they're growing and developing, so just a tiny amount of stimulation is required to get the desired results. So with those tiny little pediatric needles, we just tap it in and take it out immediately.” “Before puberty is a really important window where we can have a dramatic transformation in their health and behavior and really change the trajectory of their entire life for the better.” Dana Kay Resources: Website - https://adhdthriveinstitute.com/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/adhdthriveinstitute Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/adhdthriveinstitute/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/c/ADHDThriveInstitute LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/74302454/ Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/adhdthriveinstitute/ Tiktok - https://www.tiktok.com/@adhd_thriveinstitute International Best Selling Book, Thriving with ADHD - https://adhdthriveinstitute.com/book/ Free Reduce ADHD Symptoms Naturally Masterclass - https://info.adhdthriveinstitute.com/25min-webinar-registration ADHD Parenting Course - https://adhdthrivemethod.com/adhd-thrive-jump-start-parenting-4-adhd ADHD Thrive Method 4 Kids Program - https://adhdthriveinstitute.com/packages/

AHO TRYBE!!! Well-Come Back as we continue to unpack, uncover and unleash the idea of our own inner pains, traumas and suffering. Another episode with Spiritual Fitness where we dig deeper into our subconscious to elevate our inner-standing of how we operate in our adult life that may have been strongly shaped by events in our past or from our childhood. This episode we have an amazing spiritual friend of ours Mr. Robin Green, which is a certified Reiki healer and has recently picked up and left his entire old life behind in the United Kingdom to live in the beautiful Costa Rica where we are. As we discuss this topic of 'LEVELING UP through our Suffering' we are going to look at how our past circumstances or events could have programmed us to think, act and believe the way we do in our current adult state. Now as adults we have fallen custom to our subconscious habits and rituals not knowing that we are acting and reacting off of our past. Opening the doors to our darkest closest allows us to let the light of healing, forgiveness and love shine in so that we may choose a new path forward that's more suitable for our desires. Suffering doesn't have to be an addiction we just get use to, we can and more than deserving to break free from our past to open the cage to spread our wings to fly amongst greatness. Some Main Topics we discuss in this episode: Initial stages of healing and/or suffering How our personal narrative creates negative perspectives or darkness Noting that festering thoughts turn into mental/emotional poison The programming of our early childhood mind The perception of our circumstances shapes our internal world Finding ways to heal that fit us Keep in mind that a festering thought, a past retreat, a rehashing mindset will only stir the pot of internal poison that keeps us locked in a ruminating, self-loathing, lacking frame of living... YOU DON'T DESERVE SUCH A LIFE!!! We are always here to listen, take in feedback and invite your support in the TRYBE. Please continue to join us and provide your insight on how we can all become greater being within the collective. We love to work together to motivate and inspire each other in this journey we call LIFE! So, if you have an idea for an episode and you would like to join the podcast, reach out and lets manifest that into reality! Episode 027 is a bit different. Robin takes to the mic solo and offers some insights from his clients on Best Practices for leading through tough times. With the COVID-19 virus literally changing every aspect of our lives, how do we respond as leaders?
In this episode, Terra and Alex speak with Robin Green, president and head of research at RGIdeas, an independent research and consulting company in the financial services industry. Robin also happens to be a former colleague and dear friend of ours. From the very beginning, Robin has charged ahead with a joie de vivre that had her destined for great things. A self-described bulldozer, we see Robin as a woman who drives hard toward her goals, refusing to let obstacles slow her down. But her edges are softened by an unyielding positivity and genuine care for everyone around her. Robin has been an inspiration for both Terra and Alex and an example of how a woman can dominate in a male-dominated industry while staying true to the kind, uplifting person she is straight to her core. We're excited for you to meet Robin so let's get to it! Here is our interview with Robin Green! Music by Jennifer Szakolczay Editing by Brittany Waltmire

From the publisher: Kenneth Charles Springirth (born 1939) is a United States author, activist, politician, guest-speaker, photographer, and railroad historian. Detroit's Streetcar Heritage is Ken’s photographic essay of the Detroit, Michigan, streetcar system. Replacement of slow moving horsecar service began with the opening of an electric street railway by the Detroit Citizens Street Railway in 1892. By 1900, all of the Detroit streetcar systems were consolidated into the Detroit United Railway (DUR). Following voter approval, the City of Detroit purchased DUR in 1922, becoming the first large United States city to own and operate public transit under Detroit Department of Street Railways (DSR). Between 1921 and 1930, DSR purchased 781 Peter Witt type streetcars. Although DSR purchased 186 modern Presidents' Conference Committee (PCC) cars between 1945 and 1949, many streetcar lines were converted to bus operation. The last streetcar line on Woodward Avenue was converted to bus operation in 1956 with 183 PCC cars sold to Mexico City. Detroit's Streetcar Heritage documents the city's streetcar era plus scenes of the PCC cars in Mexico City, the Washington Boulevard Line which operated from 1976 to 2003, and the QLINE streetcar which opened in 2017 on Woodward Avenue linking Grand Boulevard with downtown Detroit. Martin’s interview with Robin Green was recorded on January 15, 2019.

From the publisher: In 1971, Robin Green had an interview with Jann Wenner at the offices Rolling Stone magazine. She had just moved to Berkeley, California, a city that promised "Good Vibes All-a Time." Those days, job applications asked just one question, "What are your sun, moon and rising signs?" Green thought she was interviewing for a clerical job like the other girls in the office, a "real job." Instead, she was hired as a journalist. With irreverent humor and remarkable nerve, Green spills stories of sparring with Dennis Hopper on a film junket in the desert, scandalizing fans of David Cassidy and spending a legendary evening on a water bed in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s dorm room. In the seventies, Green was there as Hunter S. Thompson crafted Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and now, with a distinctly gonzo female voice, she reveals her side of that tumultuous time in America. Brutally honest and bold, Green reveals what it was like to be the first woman granted entry into an iconic boys' club. Pulling back the curtain on Rolling Stone magazine in its prime, The Only Girl is a stunning tribute to a bygone era and a publication that defined a generation. Martin’s interview with Robin Green was recorded on October 2, 2018.

Women have been battling their way through Hollywood sexism behind the scenes for decades to get us to the point where more women than ever are now making television shows. This week we talk to two heroines of the male-dominated past. First, Mary Tyler Moore Show writer Susan Silver, whose memoir Hot Pants in Hollywood details her days as a writer on some of the best sitcoms of the 1970s, her mentorship with Garry Marshall, and a jaw-dropping TV Guide profile on her headlined “The Writer Wore Hotpants.” Then, we chat with Emmy and Golden Globe-winning writer and Blue Bloods co-creator Robin Green, whose fantastic memoir The Only Girl traces her career from being the only woman on staff at Rolling Stone magazine in the ‘70s to being the only woman writing for The Sopranos in the 2000s.
The Emmy hosts were dreadfully boring as was the rest of the show. Guest is Robin Green, author of "The Only Girl". Julia is very nervous about her stand-up routine at Project D&D.
A rowdy and vividly dishy memoir by the only woman on the masthead of Rolling Stone Magazine in the 60's. Stories of stalking the Grateful Dead, sparring with Dennis Hopper, scandalizing fans of David Cassidy and sleeping with a Kennedy in his dorm room….just to name a few. But this memoir is recklessly honest about being a young woman in search of her way which makes it powerful & poignant. Robin's story also takes you on her journey to writing for TV (Northern Exposure), writing and producing for 5 years of THE SOPRANOS (she wrote Tony!) and creating Blue Bloods with her husband & writing partner. 5 out of 5 stars
