It's the end of 2025, so naturally we're settling scores. The gang kicks off revisiting what we somehow rated the highest this year and arguing whether those scores still hold up. From anime to TV, movies, and games, we run through our favorite 2025 recommendations—and a few picks that definitely say more about us than the media itself. We dive headfirst into a full spoiler discussion of the Plur1bus finale, breaking down what worked, what didn't, and whether the ending actually earned its big swings.Izzy gives his take on the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, wrestling with nostalgia, shot-for-shot faithfulness, and the uncomfortable realization that it might actually work.Mox checks in with Another World, spotlighting a lesser-talked-about animated film out of Hong Kong and why it stood out visually and thematically.Gibbs unloads by suffering through—and reporting back on—a pile of truly awful Christmas movies, because someone had to do it, and it definitely wasn't going to be Izzy. Finally, we close out 2025 by diving into a full review of Battle of the Sexes as part of the ongoing Emmaverse, unpacking its themes, performances, and whether it deserves its place in our ever-growing Emma Stone–adjacent cinematic journey.End-of-year chaos, Emmaverse commitments, strong opinions, questionable rankings, and absolutely no restraint. See you in 2026.Support us on Patreon!
Czabe welcomes PAUL CHARCHIAN, who needs advice on how to teach his non-golfing wife how to golf. Even though he sucks too! Advice for moving to a "warm Christmas" state. The 49ers are the T2000 Terminator. They just keep coming. Aaron Rodgers sucked on Sunday, and a 14-year-old kid in his basement did the full tape breakdown. Could Malik Willis become the next "Vegas QB Wedding" victim of a short sample size? They remade the "Battle of the Sexes," and it once again pissed off feminists. Voting has begun in the opening phase of Myanmar's heavily restricted general election, the first since the military seized power nearly five years ago in a coup, an act that sparked civil war. The first round of voting takes place in around a quarter of the country; two more rounds are due to take place next month. Also: we look at how deportation fears in the US are driving money transfers to Honduras. A Siberian tiger gives birth to a record five cubs, it's China's first documented case of a tiger having quintuplets in the wild. Research suggests that a mysterious force called Dark Energy - which drives the expansion of the Universe - might be changing, in a way that challenges our current understanding of time and space. And Aryna Sabalenka takes on Nick Kyrgios in what's been dubbed the 'Battle of the Sexes' tennis match. We look at why it's polarising opinion. The Global News Podcast brings you the breaking news you need to hear, as it happens. Listen for the latest headlines and current affairs from around the world. Long before the trans athletes in women's sport debate became as toxic as it has, there was a far more jovial contest over the sporting supremacy of the genders called The Battle of the Sexes, with female tennis superstars taking on men in big televised exhibitions. Margaret Court lost to Bobby Riggs in the first back in 1973. Riggs then sensationally lost to Billie Jean-King later that same year, with a TV audience of 50 million.Riggs was by that time 55 years old, 26 years older than King. And then the great Martina Navratilova lost to Jimmy Connors in 1992, putting the debate to bed for good... until now. The world's number one in women's tennis, Aryna Sabalenka, will take on the world's number one in tennis tantrums, Nick Kyrgios, on the 28th of December in Dubai. Both of them join Piers Morgan to discuss the contest and more.Piers Morgan Uncensored is proudly independent and supported by: ExpressVPN: Right now you can get an extra four months of ExpressVPN for free. VOICES ON ART - The VAN HORN Gallery Podcast, hosted by Daniela Steinfeld
In today's episode, my guest is Felicity Korn, Head of the 20th/21st Century Collection and Deputy Director to FelixKrämer at the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf.Art has always been Korn's driving force. After her studies in Glasgow and Karlsruhe, she gained formative experience at institutions such as the ZKM and the Städel Museum Frankfurtbefore joining Felix Krämer at the Kunstpalast. Having worked on major exhibitions—from „Battle of the Sexes“ to Emil Nolde—she reflects on the diverse workings of museums, their collections, and what it means to lead a collection rooted in a strong local yet internationally connected art scene. We talk about Düsseldorf's vibrant cultural landscape and themuseum's mission to stay relevant for everyone: newcomers and art lovers alike. Korn shares how the Kunstpalast offers new perspectives through storytelling, rethinking the “white cube,” and creating meaningful, welcoming experiences. With museums competing against streaming platforms and shrinking attention spans, Korn discusses how she and her team adapt to shifting cultural expectations. We explore her path into art, her hands-on learning philosophy, and how contextual storytelling shapes her approach to exhibition-making—past, present, and future.RecordedOctober 2025, 55 min., language english. The UK response to Covid was "too little, too late" and led to thousands more deaths in the first wave, an inquiry into government decision-making has found. The report said lockdown may have been avoided if voluntary steps such as social distancing and isolating those with symptoms along with household members had been brought in earlier than 16 March 2020. A minister during the pandemic years tells us some of the criticism is "unfair".Also on the programme: as Spain marks 50 years since the death of dictator Francisco Franco, a leading historian of the country on why some young people are growing more favourable towards him.Broadcaster Terry Christian reflects on the passing of his friend, The Stone Roses bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield, who has died aged 63.And turning a tennis match into opera. George Bellshaw, Calvin Betton and James Gray unpick another "complicated" week of tennis news - because nothing is ever straightforward in this sport! They discussed... - A date has been confirmed for a new "Battle of the Sexes” with Aryna Sabalenka vs Nick Kyrgios set for 28 December in Dubai - Elena Rybakina wins the WTA Finals and is then determined to embarrass WTA boss Portia Archer over her role in banning coach Stefano Vukov - Aryna Sabalenka loses another big final and ends up in tears - Jack Draper says players need to stop talking and start doing over complaints on the gruelling tennis schedule - Novak Djokovic wins title No 101 in Athens, ripping off his shirt in celebration and becoming the oldest man to win a title in 48 years. It took him all of three gruelling hours against Lorenzo Musetti - whom he then told at the net that his defeat was meaningless and the Italian would still qualify for ATP World Tour Finals because Djokovic was pulling out - Learner Tien beat Cam Norrie in a fine Metz final to claim his first career title and confirm a top 30 debut. Breakthrough player of the year? - And finally, many congratulations to Ons Jabeur, who has announced that she is expecting a baby boy in April Learn more about your ad choices. It's a packed Monday on Nothing Major. The guys kick things off with the upcoming Battle of the Sexes in Dubai — plenty of curiosity (and a little doubt) about how seriously Kyrgios will take it. Djokovic's 101st career title takes center stage next, with the crew debating his decision to skip the year-end finals and what it means for the tour. There's also a shoutout to Learner Tien's title run in Metz and Venus Williams grabbing a wildcard into Auckland at 45 — still swinging. Then it's time for an ATP Finals breakdown, as we all agree one group is stronger than the other. On the WTA side, Elena Rybakina caps her season with record prize money and a clear message for 2026. To wrap things up, two teases you don't want to miss: Maldives Watch and the mission to help Danielle Collins find a husband. ----------------- 00:00 Intro 00:36 Battle of the Sexes: Sabalenka vs. Kyrgios 03:15 Novak Djokovic's Home Victory 09:35 Learner Tien's Breakthrough Year 14:19 Venus Williams' Wild Card Entry 14:52 Speculations on Player Participation 15:33 Breaking News: Sebastian Korda's Engagement 15:38 ATP Finals Overview 16:07 Shelton vs. Zverev Match Analysis 18:27 Alcaraz's Performance at ATP Finals 21:57 WTA Finals Recap 25:42 Upcoming Topics and Teasers 27:45 Goodbye!
In another episode that was already released as a video overnight for our Patreon backers, Ben and Tumaini wrap up what was a very busy Saturday in the world of tennis, including three simultaneous finals. We start with the WTA Finals in Riyadh, where Elena Rybakina won a very high-quality, high-level tournament that still looked small. How is the WTA going in Saudi Arabia after two years? Should they extend their stay there? Read Tumaini's column on the state of the WTA for more. We then discuss the down-to-the-wire (down-to-the-netcord?) drama around the race to Turin, where Novak Djokovic made Lorenzo Musetti and Felix Auger-Aliassime sweat it out until the last possible moment before withdrawing from Turin. Was that fair or foul? We also discuss the newly announced "Battle of the Sexes" between Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios, which we both think is a bad idea (but for a different perspective, read Ben's interview with the organizer, Stuart Duguid). And then for a fun finish, Tumaini waxes lyrical about his love for 1 Point Slam, which is returning in Melbourne next year in a much bigger form. Thank you for listening! Our Patreon is back up and running to ensure NCR keeps going and stays ad-free, and we hope you can join in supporting NCR! And we especially thank our GOAT backers: Pam Shriver and J. O'D. And please check out Ben's new writing home, Bounces! And Tumaini's work at The Guardian!

How can Christian men and women live faithfully in a world confused over sexuality and gender? The answer is simple — amidst the moral chaos, embrace God's beautiful design for manhood and womanhood. Hosts Scott Brown and Jason Dohm discuss this subject with pastor Michael Clary. Clary's new book, God's Good Design, is a compelling call for men and women to reject the world's dark vision of sexual madness and fall in love with the way God made them. Today's young people are crying out for truthful answers of who they are, and this book gives an oasis of hope, explaining how God wonderfully creates each person as “male” or “female” (Gen. 1:27).
