Priyanka grew up in a country that had minimal motorsport exposure but soon found herself in a deep immersion when she started a job at Motorsport Australia.Priyanka is the National Participation Lead for Motorsport Australia and part of her role is the Ricciardo Racers program and the FIA Girls on Track program.We had a chat about how she ended up in Motorsport and then went for a dive into the FIA Girls on Track program which has undergone some big changes in the last 12 months.

Justin Hunt may be a name you recognise if you've been around motorsport and events for a while in Australia, or perhaps not. He's been involved with some of the biggest motorsport events in Australia at various levels including the never to be repeated Rally Australia super stages in Perth, Western Australia, Australasia Safari and more.Now, he's bringing to life an event in Joondalup, Western Australia called the Joondalup Festival of Motoring.We caught up with him to chat about his history, get some funny tales from before things got so strict, the logistics put into running an event like the Safari and of course we hear about the Joondalup Festival of Motoring and what one thing about the event is making it all worthwhile to put his reputation (and more!) on the line to put this event on.

Perth Motorplex's Speedway manager Gavin Migro jumps into the guest chair this episode for a chat about his 20 year race career and now 20 plus years in administration and promotion of Speedway.We find out about his early experience in some form of racing and some news about the upcoming speedway season.

Sam Dicker joins us for the latest episode almost fresh off the back of a championship win at Puckapunyal where he battled with James Golding. A look bat at his karting history, his other motorsport endeavours and what led to him being relegated to 55th on the Behind the Sport podcast grid list!

As we come off the back of the Supercars weekend, we caught up with one of the many volunteers who make events like the Perth Supercars round possible, Nathan Green.Nathan has been volunteering for some time and gives us an insight into how to get started, what volunteers get to do and see and some favourite moments from his time so far as a marshall.Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer motorsport official should get in touch with their local motorsport club.

19 year old Gianni Lutzu went from karting into the Arise Driver search where he placed second with mentoring from Nick Percat and BD Soutar Dawson, he then competed in the Arise camp in an F1000 for an interrupted 2020 season and then the following 2021 season.He has now turned his hand to sim racing and we caught up with him a chat about his journey so far.

Motorsport and Events Manager of the WA Sporting Car Club joins us for Episode 5 of Behind the Sport to discuss all things Marc and the car club. The WA Sporting Car Club owns and operates the Wanneroo Raceway circuit in Perth, Western Australia and is a regular feature on the V8 Supercars circuit. Marc has worked in the middle east in motorsport management at circuits such as Yas Marina and was part of the team responsible for the first ever sanctioned motorsport event in Bangladesh. This week we chat with Jackie Russo about the upcoming Driftability event at Wanneroo Raceway. Started in 2018 by the then D1WA president Andrew Murphy, Driftability was formed to allow special needs persons 16 to 25 years old to get strapped into the passenger seat of high performance drift cars and get taken for hot laps with an experienced drifter. Andrew was inspired to get the event off the ground by his relative Elijah who has special needs and may never get to experience something like this. This year over 200 participants are registered and a combination of drift cars and supercars will be available to them to enjoy live in the fast lane for at least one day.
