My name is Alex Gardner and I am a young Queensland race car driver about to make my next step on the motorsport ladder. After a successful career in junior karting, I made my first step into circuit racing in 2022 in the Hyundai Excel series and had my first exposure on the international stage. At 15, I was one of the youngest drivers selected by Motorsport Australia and the FDA for the 2022 Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) Asia Pacific Selection Program at Sepang International F1 Circuit in Malaysia, where I made the top 6 drivers. Since first placing a wheel on track in karts, I have been schooled that off-track communication is as much a part of racing as my results. My communication to sponsors through monthly newsletters, regular personal visits, product testing, events and social media place me at the pinnacle for junior drivers in Australia. Some of my achievements to date include:- Final six in the 2022 Ferrari Driver Academy Asia Pacific Selection Program- Winning the Championship in the KA3 Junior Karting for 2022- Ron Duffield Gold Memorial Award for Best and Fairest driver 2021- Top level experience in the Australian Kart Championship competition- Multiple awards, lap records and achievements in Club Championships My aim is to be the best I can be. To make the most of every day, learn through each training session, each experience and to apply those learnings. All of this I do with the aim of being competitive at an international level, leaving mark on the sport, and inspiring future champions to chase their dreams in my wheel tracks.
