Our team LOVES listening to podcasts so we figured why not start our own!? We plan to discuss market trends, market stats, dos and don'ts, highs and lows and as usual, put the "REAL" in the real estate business. We hope you join us weekly! Live Well!
Welcome to 2024! In this brief episode I outline where we are taking this podcast in the new year and share some of the things we have in store. I've never been more excited to create these fun episodes for you and we look forward to releasing more soon. Happy New Year!
Honored to know her and proud to call her a friend! My Hoboken loft exudes unique luxury and style thanks to this gorgeous and talented new mommy and her ability to take my sometimes ridiculous ideas and make them a cohesive reality. She's successful, strong, talented and a force in the deisgn world and now she's here talking all things aesthetic and new mom for your listening pleasure. What's in, what's out and what's just begun in today's deisgn world. Listen up!
Today we sit down with one of the best mortgage brokers in the business and my dear friend Baret Kechian. Baret's decades of experience, and ability to lead his branch and team in any market, gives him the ability to share his insight into our current market and where we go from here. It's been a pleasure to work with him all these years and I'm excited to share his expertise with you on here. Now If only we had a nice Merlot.
Buyers often tell us in Hoboken/JC they are also considering Brooklyn so you can imagine my surprise when I found out just how different our markets are! This episode is a deep dive into the Brooklyn market with the legend Donald Brennan who owns 3 Engel and Völkers Shops there, is a 30 year resident of the desired Brooklyn Heights and a dear dear friend. It's a tough decision for Manhattanites to leave their island. Hopefully this episode makes the decision to jump to Brooklyn or NJ a tad easier. Enjoy! (And bare with some technical difficulties! We put the REAL in real estate haha)
First episode of 2023 kicks off 7,000 feet above sea level in one of our gorgeous feeder markets: Park City Utah. Tune in as we speak with EV Agent Karen Stone as she shares details and market stats of her home mountain locale.
@evjoeyd runs market data reports for us @evhobokenjc every week and now he's breaking down the data so we can learn from the past and plan for the future. Don't miss this deep dive into the current real estate market! As always thanks to my dear friend Joe for being such a positive force in my life and in the lives of our advisors. We love you Joey!
Our company provides a global platform to promote properties all over the world and work wherever your heart desires. My good friend, and agent Alex and I grab two stools at our neighboring steakhouse to have a much needed martini and discuss the markets in his three specialization areas: Boston, NJ and the UK. We hope this episode gets you thinking bigger about your own business and how you can expand your markets. Big thanks to Alex for taking the time to share his knowledge and I personally thank him for being such a great friend all these years. Listen up!
We just let it fly in this hilarious discussion about working in the real estate industry and all the craziness that follows. Disclaimer: bad language in this one!
I've used Marc exclusively to move both my own properties as well as my clients, celebrities, and politicians. I never had the chance to sit and pick his brain about the moving industry past, present and future so we did that here all while laughing at his hilarious industry stories. Take a listen and enjoy!
We sat with Terry Darling the home inspector to talk all things post COVID and what we should prep our buyers and sellers to expect during their home inspection.
Today's triumphant return to podcasting post COVID is with a lovely friend Randi from Two Rivers Title!
I hesitated publishing this but in my consistent attempt to lead with authenticity I decided to feel the fear and do it anyway. So here it is. A recorded clip of our last sales meeting of the year. A raw emotional audible love letter to my company and the agents and staff that rode the waves the sea that was 2020 so effortlessly hit us with over and over again. We were one of the positive stories but so many of our fellow small businesses weren’t so lucky and that breaks my heart. And frankly should break yours. It’s difficult to see the world from the eyes of an entrepreneur unless you are one. On one hand the world is constantly your oyster, and endless exciting sky of opportunity to create and thrive on your own terms. On the other a much darker lonely place that terrifies you if you let it. You need a strong heart and an even stronger stomach and living for the journey instead of the outcome is the only way to survive. You can’t call out sick, or come in late, or even take a proper vacation to be honest because there is always something to do, manage, create, solve, extinguish, or analyze. The thing is people who aren’t entrepreneurs don’t get that we wouldn’t have it any other way. We happily traded the “Sunday scaries” for a consistent pit in our stomach that makes us feel alive and keeps us going. Our businesses are home and our staff and employees are family. This year was far from easy for a multitude reasons but I’m leaving it a better human, a stronger leader, and far more aware of what’s important to me and I owe that entirely to my crew @EVHoboken. So to my staff, global network, agents and clients, thank you. I’m proud of you. Well done. See you next year.
This year has certainly been one for the books but despite all the obvious turmoil there have been some lessons learned and positive outcomes. We have one month left, and another lockdown looming, so perhaps instead of focusing on the obvious negative, shift to the positive and come out of 2020 with something you can be proud of because if you exit this disaster without a single lesson learned you did it all wrong. LISTEN UP!
Today two of my fellow brokerage owners and rockstar agents in their own right join me to discuss our path to brokerage ownership, the good, the bad, the ugly and the inspiring. These women helped me get through purchasing the brokerage by helping me find my strength and providing their constant support. Truly inspiring conversation from two powerhouse ladies I’m proud to call friends. Amazing things happen when women support women in business. Enjoy!
This isn’t advice. This is a warning. Listing poachers are out there and the sooner you realize how they operate the safer your business becomes. Some people spend their entire day trying to take others’ listings. It’s a sad but true reality of our industry. This podcast will open your eyes and prepare you for battle.
Today we go beyond the brokerage and sit with my dear friend Hoboken Restauranteur, Investor, & former Red Sox Pitcher Pat Light as he shares his insight and advice on entrepreneurship, the parallels with playing professional sports, Hoboken business ownership and where we all go from here. I should state we tend to take a positive outlook on this disaster and we by no means want anyone to think we are making light of a terrible time. Our goal is simply to inspire people to move forward in any way we can. I want to personally thank my buddy for always engaging in these animated discussions on the road less traveled both on and off camera. A true inspiration and true friend. Grab a nice scotch/tequila and enjoy everyone!
Being quarantined means my husband can’t escape my nagging requests to be a guest on this podcast. As one of Hoboken’s favorite and most sought after attorneys he gives his take on the effects the crisis has on this market from a legal perspective, what we can do in the meantime, and where we go from here. Listen up!
We are certainly in unprecedented times and the effects of this will ripple out to almost every industry. We tackle our initial thoughts on how this will effect real estate but the fact of the matter is, we just don’t know. Stay calm. Make a plan. Be well & listen up!
It’s time to focus on doing the right thing. Ethics in business will keep you around for the long game. Reputation is everything. LISTEN UP!
If you think you just pass the real estate exam and start Selling It Like Serhant you are sadly mistaken. Let me share some reality with you...aggressively. lol
STOP THINKING SMALL! We tend to focus on the day to day tasks and lose site of the big picture. This episode talks about why that big goal needs to stay top of mind.
I recently realized how important it is to be able to navigate chaos well and handle the stress associated with the inevitable mayhem life, and entrepreneurship will throw at you. Get comfy in chaos and watch the magic happen!
A social media macro strategy!
Because markets will shift, pipelines will falter but your integrity will give you staying power in this industry.
Why you should be tuning out the noise and focusing on your clients now more than ever!
Here I sit with “BOB” a dear friend and long term financier and we discuss recent market dips and how it’s affecting local real estate sales! Dive in!
This is a bit of a rant but that’s only because I’m so passionate about everyone I care about working for themselves! After receiving a Top Female Entrepreneur award this month from Leading Women Entrepreneurs, I finally felt a sense of accomplishment and wanted to share my story. I hope it helps!
Latest episode of Breakfast with Brokers: BRANDING! Why you should be hyper focused on your personal brand in order to survive the market shift. Here we go!
We flew down to Miami to meet with our Engel & Volkers partners in the Coral Gables office and received a really fantastic snapshot of their market, how it relates to the New York area and where it's heading. We see many buyers in New Jersey consider the move to South Florida due to NJ being so highly taxed so it's always great to be able to learn more about the market trends there so we can inform our curious clients here. HUGE thanks to our team there for being so welcoming and always taking great care of our referrals. Here's Miami!!!
I get asked this question almost daily and with markets potentially shifting we figured it was an appropriate topic. Warren Buffet said “Only buy something that you’d be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.” I think that's a great general rule of thumb. Markets correct, prices rise and fall, but good investors are always in the game. We hope you enjoy episode two!
This is our first attempt at this podcasting thing! Today's episode is dedicated to new agents. The real estate industry has been "glamorized" in recent years due to hit reality TV shows and very lucrative local markets and while enthusiasm for real estate sales is awesome the need for proper training in apparent. We dive into what our advice would be to new agents interested in really making this their career as well as hopefully inspire aspiring agents on the fence. So pour a cup of coffee and join us. Thanks and live well!
