Stan D. Gaede (Ph.D., Vanderbilt) is currently Scholar in Residence at Gordon College, Wenham, MA, after completing ten years of service as President and Provost at Westmont College, Santa Barbara, CA. He is a past professor of sociology at Gordon College. Gaede is the author of numerous books and articles; is a frequent speaker at colleges, conferences and churches; and has been a regular speaker in chapel at both Gordon and Westmont. His books include An Incomplete Guide to the Rest of Your Life and When Tolerance is No Virtue: Political Correctness, Multiculturalism, and the Future of Truth and Justice, both published by IVP.

Michael Shasberger joined the Westmont faculty in 2005 after a distinguished career in higher education and church music. A graduate of St. Olaf College in Minnesota, he earned a doctorate in choral music, vocal performance and church music at the University of Southern California. He has extensive experience as a conductor and soloist in a wide variety of musical performances, including opera and classic works. Dr. Shasberger's endeavors here at Westmont include conducting the Westmont College Choir and Chamber Orchestra, private voice instruction, working with the office of the campus pastor, and developing artistic collaborations with the Santa Barbara arts community. He is also the Artistic Director of the Denver Bach Society, Founder and Director Emertitus of the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra of Denver, and sings with the Santa Barbara based Vocal Scholars vocal ensemble.

As senior pastor of Community Covenant Church in Goleta, Dennis Wadley and his wife, Susan, started Bridges of Hope International in 2002. A year later, they moved their family to South Africa to create an effective and reproducible model of holistic community development in areas ravaged by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. This model has now been adopted in communities in South Africa and Swaziland. The Wadleys plan to return to Santa Barbara in 2008 to direct Bridges of Hope.

Francis Chan is the best-selling author of books, Crazy Love & Forgotten God, and the host of the BASIC.series. He has also written the children’s books Halfway Herbert, The Big Red Tractor and the Little Village and Ronnie Wilson’s Gift. Francis is the founding pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, California, and is the founder of Eternity Bible College. He also sits on the board of directors of Children’s Hunger Fund and World Impact. Francis now lives in Northern California with his wife, Lisa, and their four daughters and one son.

For the past 29 years, Reed Jolley has been one of teaching pastors at Santa Barbara Community Church. An avid surfer and a Westmont Alum, Reed exclaims that he is: "the proud father of three and an even prouder husband of my first wife."

Shirley Mullen is currently the President of Houghton College. She previously was the Provost at Westmont College, a position that she held from 2002 until 2006. While at Westmont she received the Outstanding Teacher Award three times. She has also held positions in a multitude of organizations, including being president of the Conference on Faith and history. She is a well published author, both having written her own book, as well as having authored articles in several Christian journals.

Barry and his wife Tere live in San Francisco. After 25 years of serving in local churches in NYC and S.F., Barry spends his energy in teaching, mentoring, speaking at retreats, and working with non profits. He served in an interim position in the Westmont in San Francisco Urban Program. His passions are city living, biking, barbeque, and his adult children (Benson and Liz).

Dr. Dan B. Allender received his M Div from Westminster Theological Seminary and his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University. He taught in the Biblical Counseling department of Grace Theological Seminary for seven years (1983-1989). From 1989-1997 he worked as a professor in the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling program at Colorado Christian University, Denver, CO. Currently, Dan serves as President and Professor of Counseling at Mars Hill Graduate School in Seattle, WA. A therapist in private practice he is a frequent speaker and conference leader. He and his wife Rebecca are parents to three adult children.
