In Part 2 of Episode 21, I'm joined by a truly fascinating first-time guest—certified hypnotherapist Paul Salter. Paul helps us explore the power of the mind and how hypnotherapy can free us from the fear of judgment on the golf course—especially when standing on the first tee with eyes all around. Whether it's your buddies, a crowd at the club championship, or groups waiting to tee off behind you, we've all felt that pressure. Paul breaks down where that fear comes from and how he works with golfers to eliminate it for good. Then, one of my favorite people on the planet, PGA Tour legend Hal Sutton returns to the show to share updates on his latest course design, the Darmor Club outside Houston, and why—for the first time ever—he's endorsing a putter. It's not because of a paycheck. Hal explains what impressed him about Makefield Putters, their precision fitting process, and how they get the ball rolling faster and truer than nearly anything else out there. If it's good enough to go in Hal's bag, you'll want to hear why.

Tune in as Brett Salter (Irish Salt) jumps back onto the program to break down the 2019 sci-fi thriller movie Synchronic, which follows a couple New Orleans paramedics as they get caught up in the mystery surrounding a new designer drug and the reality-altering impact it's having on its users. Anthony Mackie's flair for dark comedy, puzzling out the stylistic choices for elements like nonlinear storytelling and color grading, and the theory that perhaps this film should have ran along a Steins;Gate-esque road comprise a few of the topics for this episode.Directed by Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, Synchronic stars Anthony Mackie, Jamie Dornan, Alexia Ioannides, Katie Aselton, Ramiz Monsef, Bill Oberst Jr., Carl Palmer, Betsy Holt, and Shane Brady.Spoilers start at 20:20Create your podcast today! #madeonzencastrHere's how you can learn more about Palestine and IsraelHere's how you can keep up-to-date on this genocideHere's how you can send eSIM cards to Palestinians in order to help them stay connected onlineGood Word:• Brett: Into the Badlands• Arthur: Things Will Be DifferentReach out at email2centscritic@yahoo.com if you want to recommend things to watch and read, share anecdotes, or just say hello!Be sure to subscribe, rate, and review on iTunes or any of your preferred podcasting platforms!Follow Arthur on Twitter, Goodpods, StoryGraph, Letterboxd, and TikTok: @arthur_ant18Follow Arthur on Bluesky: @arthur-ant18Follow the podcast on Twitter: @two_centscriticFollow the podcast on Instagram: @twocentscriticpodFollow Arthur on GoodreadsCheck out 2 Cents Critic Linktree

I'm not sure about you, but I did not get a lot of training in self-management when I was a graduate student (but cut me some slack... I was in an EAB program!). If you're in the same boat as I am, then you're in luck. In Session 288, I'm joined by Katie Croce and Jamie Salter, and in our conversation, they provided their unique strategies for fostering self-management using the Self and Match system. We get in to how they developed their unique approach to self-management, how they've refined it over time, the relationship between self-monitoring and accountability, research supporting these practices, and lots more. If you want to learn more about this approach to supporting individuals to become more independent, sign up for their mailing list, or consider picking up a copy of the Self and Match manual. With Australia's commitment to end gender-based violence within a generation, yet concerning increases in sexual violence and domestic homicides, this timely discussion explores why traditional prevention strategies focused on changing social norms and attitudes have fallen short.Key points discussed include:The limitations of measuring prevention success through attitude surveys rather than actual reductions in violenceWhy structural interventions and accountability are essential alongside education effortsThe need to focus resources on high-risk scenarios and populations, particularly traumatized youthHow systems often fail to provide practical help when survivors, especially young people, disclose abuseThe importance of shifting from "calling out" to "calling in" approaches when addressing harmful behaviorsWhy prevention efforts must acknowledge the reality that most people have been impacted by violence rather than assuming a "clean slate"Related episodes:Season 2 Episode 12: How Coercive Control Harms Child Safety & Wellbeing: An Interview With Jess HillAdditional Resources:See What You Made Me Do: Power, Control and Domestic Abuse by Jess HillChildlight Research Centre - University of New South WalesJoin us in-person or online 18-20 March 2025 for the Safe & Together Institute Coercive Control and Children Conference. Are home movies the grecian urns of the twentieth century? Today's poem says, “sort of.”Poet, editor, essayist, playwright, and lyricist Mary Jo Salter was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She grew up in Michigan and Maryland, and earned degrees from Harvard and Cambridge University. A former editor at the Atlantic Monthly, poetry editor at the New Republic, and co-editor of the fourth and fifth editions of the Norton Anthology of Poetry, Salter's thorough understanding of poetic tradition is clearly evident in her work. Salter is the author of many books of poetry, including A Kiss in Space (1999), Open Shutters (2003), A Phone Call to the Future (2008), Nothing by Design (2013), and The Surveyors (2017). Her second book, Unfinished Painting (1989) was a Lamont Selection for the most distinguished second volume of poetry published that year, Sunday Skaters (1994) was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award, and Open Shutters was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Salter has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation and taught for many years at Mount Holyoke College. She is currently the Krieger-Eisenhower Professor in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University. Get full access to The Daily Poem Podcast at dailypoempod.substack.com/subscribe
America faces its toughest economic challenges in decades: record-high inflation, a staggering $35 trillion federal debt, and heavy-handed regulations that threaten to stifle growth. Today's poem is Home Movies: A Sort of Ode by Mary Jo Salter. The Slowdown is your daily poetry ritual. In this episode, Major writes… “With so much of our treasured moments digitized on servers, it seems we've lost physical evidence of our lives. Yet, we own thousands more photos of ourselves than our parents and grandparents. Like many, I wonder what will happen to the virtual record of our existence once we depart the earth.” Celebrate the power of poems with a gift to The Slowdown today. Daniel Salter worked for over 20 years with the US Air Force before joining the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in 1968 due to his expertise in electronic communications and tracking UFO activity. He spent over ten years working with the NRO, where he was part of a team of covert operatives whose task was to persuade witnesses not to talk about their UFO-related experiences. After completing his NRO career, Salter decided to go public in 1997 with what he had learned. One of his initial disclosure activities was communicating with others to discuss events at a Deep Underground Military Base near the town of Dulce, New Mexico, where a hierarchy of negative extraterrestrials ran operations that included human captives. The subsequent Dulce Files were eventually found by Salter's two grandchildren, Daniel and Derek, who were investigating his personal files which they inherited after his death. The Dulce files reveal Salter participated in discussions about different extraterrestrial organizations competing with one another in influencing humanity's evolution and controlling the Inner Earth. The Dulce files also reveal that American Presidents since Grover Cleveland (1895-1899 & 1893-97), have visited Telos, the capital city of an Inner Earth Civilization deep under Mt Shasta to conduct secret negotiations. The files also reveal the nefarious role played by high level Freemasons who have surpassed the 33rd degree initiation level known to the general public. Freemasons who have achieved 33+ degree levels interact with extraterrestrials and the Inner Earth. 33+ degree freemasons have also played a significant role in fomenting civil and international conflict both above and under the planet's surface, and reached agreements with the Draco Reptilian Empire to escape predicted cataclysmic surface events. While the Dulce Files were written 26 years ago, their relevance to events unfolding today cannot be discounted due to many similarities in conditions and many of the same forces maneuvering behind the scenes. Daniel Salter's career in the USAF and NRO provides a rare bird's-eye view of extraterrestrial organizations, Inner Earth civilizations, and secret societies that are essential to learn about today as similar conditions can be found all over the planet. Daniel and Derek have their own podcast (Shred the Veil) where they discuss their grandfather's knowledge and other witness testimonies on UFOs/ET life. 00:00:00 - Introduction 00:01:25 - Chapter 1 Investigate Daniel Salter's (grandfather) covert service record 00:04:53 - Chapter 2 Shifting from NRO Operative to Disclosure 00:07:45 - Chapter 3 Nazi UFOs & agreements with Draco Reptlians 00:09:47 - Chapter 4 The Dulci Files 00:13:52 - Chapter 5 HQ Interplanetary Phenomenon 00:20:03 - Chapter 6 Groom Wars of 1975 and Dulce Wars of 1979 00:22:49 - Chapter 7 Different ET organization discussed in the Dulci Files 00:25:54 - Chapter 8 Draco and Orion Subterfuge to take over the inner earth. 00:28:46 - Chapter 9 US Presidents who have visited TELUS City 00:31:07 - Chapter 10 Once Upon a Time - Inner earthers and Surface Humanity ... 00:32:58 - Chpater 11 33 degree Freemasons, Draconians, agreements, wars … 00:41:55 - Chapter 12 UFOlogy Today 00:46:11 - Chapter 13 NRO, CIA, SSP, Space Force 00:50:12 - Chapter 14 The Cash-Landrum UFO incident 00:53:51 - CHapter 15 Integrating Religion & Science & the Urantia Book 00:58:06 - Chapter 16 In Terms of Today's Controled Disclosure Naratives 01:06:34 - Chapter 17 What's next in Daniel & Derek's research, discovery and disclosure efforts --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/exopoliticstoday/support

When there are too many tabs or applications opened, a computer tends to hang. Just like computers, your brain experiences the same thing. Cognitive overload or info paralysis happens when you take in too much information than your brain can handle. In today's media circus, your brain works double-time to separate what's important from unimportant, the facts from fiction. Fake news runs rampant in social media, especially now that the elections are dwindling. It would help to be extra vigilant about the information you see and believe in. You need to be aware of suspicious accounts spreading misinformation and trolling. You should seek facts from reliable sources only. We are all in luck because today, we have Chuck Salter, the President and CEO at The News Literacy Project as our special guest for The Ripple Effect Podcast! The News Literacy Project or NLP is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 that aims to teach media literacy to the next generation, so they can go out into the world as well-informed, critical thinkers. The NLP not only helps students but also educators. With years of experience working in the education sector and fighting for a future founded on facts, Chuck Salter touched on various important topics about disinformation and news literacy. Growing up in a family with a military background, his parents instilled the sense of being of service to people. Chuck took those values as he grew up and made it his life's mission to combat the spread of fake and biased information. A special thanks to Lorenza Muñoz for this Ripple! Today I'm sitting down with mindset coach and hypnotherapist, Paul Salter, to get his unique insights on using hypnosis to elevate your golf game. Paul defines hypnosis as “a state of deep relaxation with the intention to make positive change”. A skilled hypnotherapist can help anyone silence their inner critic, and directly connect with their subconscious mind to unlearn limiting beliefs and. This, in turn, allows new, more productive beliefs to take their place. Asked how golfers can harness the power of hypnosis to take their game to the next level, Paul reminds us that “there is no shortage of mental and emotional hazards on the course.” Coming up against those hazards triggers negative self-talk, which naturally nurtures self-destructive behaviors that ruin your chances at a great, fun round. To golfers struggling with emotional control, Paul demonstrates how hypnosis can significantly boost performance and align you with your best self. Paul goes on to explain how to cultivate a winning mindset, create confidence on demand, enhance emotional resiliency, and effortlessly find flow and fun out on the course. As a bonus, we also touch on finding success both as a golfer and as a parent–at the same time! About Paul SalterHaving personally coached over 2,500 clients, Paul Salter is an expert in helping you get out of your own way by stopping self-sabotage at the source. With an extensive background working with elite Collegiate, Professional, and Olympic athletes as a Sports Dietitian, his unique coaching system leverages 15 years of coaching with an emphasis on hypnosis, subconscious reprogramming, mindset shift training, and proven strategies to help you unstuck yourself. WHO ARE THE REAL DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM? That's the question asked in this column a couple of weeks ago by my guest today at 1:00 Alexander Salter. Economist Alexander Salter disagrees. Salter is a professor of economics at Texas Tech University and a signatory of the Freedom Conservatism Statement of Principles. He is the author of more than 150 academic and popular articles and has authored four books. After the Democrats spent the week of their convention crowing about freedom, he explains what a lie that actually is. Read the column and join me at 1.

My friends Jessica Salter and Jett Atwood (gay Latter-day Saint women in a same-sex marriage, attend and believe in Church) join us to share their stories. Jett & Jessie (who were married on June 15, 2024) talk about their supportive ward in Utah County (including their bishopric attending their reception) and being so fortunate to have many in their ward “catch” them. Jett (who is older than Jessie; Washington DC South RM, gifted cartoonist) talks about her journey to accept that her sexual orientation is part of her divine nature. Jessie (mother of 3 kids, former adjunct professor at BYU) also talks about accepting her sexual orientation and how they found each other. Both women talk about their supportive ward, principles to better support queer Latter-day Saints, the resurrection, focusing on what is in their control, their love of the church, and the beauty of their marriage and family. Thank you, Jessie and Jett, for sharing your story. You are two wonderful women—doing much to bless and help others. I'm glad the two of you found each other.
