Traffic on the 5 West backed up after metal sheets fell into the right lane, a reminder about securing loads to avoid danger and freeway chaos. Sports guest Eric Sklar, “The Duke of Sports,” explained why the Clippers sent Chris Paul home and won’t have him return to the team. He also discussed Miguel Rojas signing a new deal with the Dodgers. In tragic news, the son of the slain Simi Valley couple has been identified as the suspected gunman in their double murder. Episode Notes S6E41- Join us as we chat with childhood actress Rachel Greenbush. Sh'll be in the house telling tales from being an identical twin to becoming Carrie Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. Which is celebrating it's 50th anniversary. Rachel Lindsay Rene Bush and Sidney Robyn Danae Bush, (born May 25, 1970 in Hollywood, California), are American former child actresses, best known for their combined (alternating) role as Carrie Ingalls, in the drama series Little House on the Prairie. They are identical twin sisters, born to actor Billy Green Bush and Carole Kay Bush. Their older brother, Clay, is also an actor. The twins played Jill Hayden in the 1973 made-for-television drama Sunshine . From 1974 through 1982 they alternated the role of Carrie Ingalls in the television series Little House on the Prairie, although were credited as Lindsay Sidney Greenbush, with the implication that a single actor played the role. In the episode "The Godsister", first broadcast on December 18, 1978, both twins appear together when Carrie creates a make-believe friend because her family is too busy to spend time with her. The twins did not appear in the final season of the series as the plot line had Carrie's family (with the exception of sister Laura and her husband Almanzo) move away from Walnut Grove, Minnesota, the series' location. We are taking a heartwarming ride back to Walnut Grove with three beloved Little House On The Prairie cast members: Alison Arngrim, Dean Butler, and Karen Grassle, as they reunite to celebrate the show's enduring magic and to preview a new documentary and a Simi Valley cast reunion event in December, 2025.We explore why Little House continues to resonate across generations, drawing parallels to Star Trek and its devoted fan culture. Audiences still crave the sense of simplicity, community, and frontier resilience the series embodies.Karen Grassle shares the story of landing her very first series regular role as Caroline Ingalls after eight lean years as a struggling New York actor. The cast reflects on the unexpected typecasting that followed their time on the prairie, and Alison recalls the heady moment when, at age 12, she recognized the deliciously devious nature of her role, Prairie Bitch, Nellie Oleson. We delve into the legacy of Michael Landon, his uncanny eye for casting, his individualized directing style, and why guest stars adored working with him, while Karen offers a candid look at her complicated relationship with Michael and the challenges she faced as a women on that set.Alison and Dean walk us through the phenomenon of the Little House passport book, that allows Laura fans to mark every museum that celebrates the Ingalls family's history in their town. And the cast previews what will make the Simi Valley reunion truly special for enthusiasts, including meet-and-greets, photo-ops, breakfast with the cast, a screening of the 'Little House Homecoming' documentary and a tote bag!We also discuss the real, sometimes harsh conditions the actors faced on set, including rain, snow, fire and Victor French leaping into a freezing creek. And we get into the new Netflix limited series currently in production (though the original cast isn't officially involved, they share their openness to making appearances). And of course we make time for game time. How well does the cast know what takes place in the Books vs. the Series? And we play the IMDB Roulette Sub-Genre, Were You In it? This is a conversation that celebrates the past, embraces the future and shares the community of Little House. In current media --Fritz: The documentary Being Eddie on NetflixWeezy: Netflix movie, Train DreamsPath Points of Interest:LHOP Holiday cast reunion Dec 12 - 14th, 2025Little House Homecoming DocumentaryDean ButlerDean Butler on InstagramDean Butler on FacebookAlison Arngrim Alison Arngrim on InstagramAlison Arngrim on FacebookKaren GrassleKaren Grassle on InstagramLaura Ingalls Wilder Tour PassportConfessions Of A Prairie Bitch by Alison ArngrimPrairie Man by Dean ButlerBright Lights, Prairie Dust by Karen GrassleBeing Eddie Train Dreams

Grab your genealogy charts and your emotional-support bonnets, because this week we're diving into “Family Tree,” the episode where poor little Albert discovers that figuring out where you come from can be… complicated. When Miss Wilder assigns a genealogy project, Albert realizes his family tree looks a lot like the one from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Naturally, the children of Walnut Grove handle this delicate situation with the grace of a herd of stampeding cattle. Nothing says “friendship” quite like being called a “bastard” on a fishing trip, Laura being completely oblivious to Albert's emotional turmoil, and Nellie Oleson taunting him just for some good old-fashioned psychopath fun. (She's giving Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused. In other words: LOSER.)Albert begs Pa to officially adopt him in an absolutely devastating, tear-jerking scene. (Where are the Emmys for Michael Landon and Matthew Labyorteaux?! Truly.) Pa, suddenly realizing that—oops—he probably should have adopted Albert already, decides to make it official. Big mistake! Albert's biological father is, gasp, ALIVE… and wants Albert back. Not out of love, not out of guilt—no, no. To work on his farm. What a heartwarming reunion! But Albert, being the clever, street-savvy kid he is, hatches a plan: he pretends to be blind, which quickly convinces his bio-dad that this whole fatherhood thing is not for him. Reversing course, he leaves Albert in Walnut Grove where he belongs—back with the Ingalls, where he is (finally!) and officially adopted. (Honestly, having a blind sister really does come in handy here.)“Family Tree” stands out as one of the most emotional episodes of Season 6, highlighting Albert's vulnerability, Charles' unwavering compassion, and the show's ongoing theme that families are made, not just born. But don't worry—your hosts keep the snark, nostalgia, and inappropriate giggling flowing throughout. Then, join us on Patreon, where Alison shares stories about her father, Thor Arngrim, and the surprising similarities between his childhood and this episode. Go to our socials on FB or IG for details! @littlehouse50podcast*Welcome back to the prairie, folks! This week's episode kicks off with an emotional gut punch and a couple of unforgettable new faces. Alison, Dean, and Pamela are back in their bonnets and breaking down “The Castoffs” — the episode that proves the prairie can be both heartwarming and emotionally devastating before the first commercial break. It's the episode where we first meet Kezia, the quirky, big-hearted newcomer who instantly becomes the talk (and target) of Walnut Grove. The town's moral compass goes spinning like a butter churn as everyone decides she's “too weird” to stick around. She's wonderfully played by Hermione Baddeley — basically the prairie's first free spirit. Also making his grand debut: Jonathan Garvey, everyone's favorite gentle giant. (OK, we know--He's a "Bear"!) But then — brace yourselves — it's not all laughs… because this episode also gives us one of the saddest Little House moments ever: Jack the dog's death. Laura's furry best friend crosses over the prairie rainbow bridge, and let's just say there wasn't a dry eye on or off screen...even shirtless Pa can't distract us from the sadness. As if that weren't enough, Laura takes out her heartbreak on Bandit, the adorable new pup who just wants to love her. It's a mix of laughter, heartbreak, and a few life lessons about loss, love, and letting new dogs into your heart. Then, join us on Patreon where Alison, Dean and Pamela discuss their pets!Join us in NYC! Ah, love is in the air… and so is a ton of dust. This week, we're recapping The Wedding — the much-anticipated union of Mary Ingalls and Adam Kendall! But before they can say “I do,” they have to say, “Susan!? I'm here!!” thanks to the most dramatic windstorm this side of Walnut Grove. That's right, the very “Sandstorm” that inspired Pamela to create “Livin' On a Prairie”!But hold onto your bonnets, because while everyone's trying to see through the dirt and drama, Mary is fully sporting her French tip nails while searching for Susan, (the most annoying character in Little House history, according to Pamela). In this episode, we break down:Adam's wedding proposal—Sweet? Or terrible?Mary's hair - so many questions... Rev. Alden ain't got nothing on no Sandstorm! Boo! It's Halloween in Walnut Grove, and Laura's seen… something horrifying. Or so she thinks. This week, Dean, Alison and Pamela slice into the legendary (and hilariously gory) “Monster of Walnut Grove” — the closest thing Little House ever got to a horror movie!Laura's convinced she's witnessed Nels Oleson chop off Harriet's head — (you know, the usual small-town drama) -- and she goes full prairie panic. She's up all night with nightmares, haunted by visions of poor Harriet's severed head. With the help of her BFF, Carl, they share this dark secret--until Nellie and Willie get involved.Meanwhile, Nels has no idea that Laura thinks he is a decapitating murderer. Spoiler alert — he isn't. It wasn't Harriet's head. It was a new (and terrifying) mannequin for the store.Alison dishes on the behind-the-scenes madness in filming this episode, from Jonathan Gilbert, Richard Bull and Michael Landon. So grab your pumpkin spice coffee, settle in by the flickering lantern light, and get ready for a howling good time on the prairie.Spoiler alert: No Harriets were harmed in the making of this episode. Then, join us on Patreon, where Alison and Dean take a deep dive into all things Michael Landon, in honor of what would have been his 89th birthday this Halloween.Links and Resources:Haven't signed up for Patreon yet? (October 27,2025)Part of the White House's East Wing has been demolished… here's what was lost. ChatGPT's new web browser launched this week but beware, it's watching everything you do. More big companies bet they can still grow without hiring. The Poltergeist house in Simi Valley is available on Airbnb… what are some other haunted houses available to rent?
Nels & Mollie Sitting in a Tree (K-I-S-S-I-N-G… sorta) Hold onto your bonnets, folks—Nels Oleson is LIVING. HIS. BEST. LIFE.This week, we dive into Season 6's “Second Spring,” aka the midlife crisis episode we didn't know we needed. Nels finally gets fed up with Harriet, Nellie, and Willy's constant harping and dinner demands, and decides it's time to take a little “business trip” … and maybe find himself a little happiness while he's at it.Cut to: Nels, free at last, living his prairie bachelor fantasy at a charming boarding house run by Mollie — a sweet Irish beauty with a soft brogue, a warm heart, and the kind of kindness Harriet wouldn't recognize if it smacked her with a bonnet. Suddenly, Nels is smiling again, cracking jokes, and looking suspiciously like a man who's discovered the meaning of life (and maybe love) over a cup of tea.Meanwhile, back in Walnut Grove, Harriet realizes something terrifying: Nels might actually not come back. Cue full panic mode. It's possibly the most begrudging display of vulnerability ever committed to frontier television. Will Nels leave his life for Mollie's kindness and her lilting accent? Or will Harriet's last-ditch charm offensive win him back? Either way, the Olesons are serving up one of the wildest emotional rollercoasters this side of Plum Creek. (Is it just me or are we kind of rooting for Team Nels & Mollie?)Tune in as we unpack this one, and celebrate the fact that—for one glorious episode—Nels Oleson said “I choose me.”Then, join us on Patreon where Dean and Alison talk all things Richard Bull!Links and Resources:Haven't signed up for Patreon yet? Rio Hondo Prep improved to 8-0 after a 41-10 victory over the Viewpoint Patriots in Week 8. The Kares looked fresh after their Bye Week but did have some uncharacteristic hiccups along the way. Noah Penunuri scored twice and gained more ground toward two big Rio records. Nathaniel Shine had two powerful Touchdown runs and two Sacks on Defense. Calogero Chico took an Interception 67 yards to the House. Head Coach Mark Carson recaps all the action from Friday night in Simi Valley and offers more insight into the RHP Football Program. As a special treat, we have the Harrington brothers on for the Player Portion of the Podcast. Both Nick and Dorian Harrington have developed greatly as football players and are enjoying every opportunity set before them.
The wheat is gone. The money is gone. Manly's will to get out of bed? Also gone.We continue our recap of this epic 2-parter. Almanzo is deep in his "sad cowboy era," refusing to walk, talk, or touch a plow — basically throwing a full-grown frontier tantrum. Laura, now very postpartum and very fed up, decides it's time for some tough prairie love. No more babying the baby.Part 2 brings peak pioneer angst. Manly's in a funk, Laura's at her limit, and even the baby's like, “Y'all okay?”We unpack the emotional barn showdown, Eliza Jane's dramatic exit, and Laura's transformation from supportive wife to motivational drill sergeant. A storm may have wrecked the farm, but not the Wilder spirit… eventually. In the meantime...can we check on Baby Grace and see if she's ok?!Spoiler: No more wheat, but plenty of geraniums. Then, join us on Patreon where we discuss the latest "drama" over Jason Bateman and his People Magazine exclusive... This week, Laura and Manly are living their best prairie lives — baby on the way, cozy house, a wheat crop with dollar signs in their eyes. Naturally, that means disaster is RIGHT around the corner. In true Little House fashion, Manly goes from "proud wheat daddy" to “just a little sick” to “I had a stroke and now I'm spiraling into a full-on pioneer pity party.” Meanwhile, Laura's out here doing it all — farming, caregiving, and surviving her sister-in-law Eliza Jane's smothering brand of “help.”Disaster Bingo Begins!Diphtheria? Check.Stroke? Double check.Massive financial setback? Oh honey, we're just getting warmed up.Emotional spiral? Eliza Jane is gonna Eliza Jane. Basically: it's the start of Wilderpalooza, and no one's making it out with dry eyes or dry wheat. Welcome to a Very Special Episode: Ma's Hair Is Down & Everything Goes to Hell (almost!).This week on Little House 50 Podcast, we dive headfirst into an episode that has it all: emotional turmoil, slow-burn temptation, passive-aggressive teenage angst, and… Ma's hair down. Yes, DOWN. That's when you know things are about to get spicy on the prairie.Charles hops on a wagon and leaves for a job, so Caroline hires a handsome, mysteriously single handyman named Chris to finish the kitchen extension. He's good with tools. Very good. Suspiciously good. Soon, he's hammering more than nails—he's hammering his way into Ma's heart.Mary, ever the emotionally intelligent eldest child, smells drama from a mile away and starts throwing shade with the precision of a seasoned Real Housewife of Sleepy Eye. Honestly? She's kind of a bitch in this episode—but like, a justified bitch. We support her.Meanwhile, Laura is blissfully unaware that her family is one flirty barn-raising away from a full-blown scandal. And then there's Ma. Sweet, proper, dutiful Ma—until suddenly, she's got her hair down and a suspiciously candlelit glow in the kitchen. You don't let your hair down in Walnut Grove unless you're catching feelings or catching trouble. And honestly, if anyone earned the right to slap Nellie into next Tuesday, it's Mary in this episode. Will Laura keep calling him “Uncle Chris,” even though he is giving major stranger danger with a toolbox energy?! Girl. Will Ma go there?? (She won't... but we all kinda wanted her to for a second.)Grab your bonnet and your prairie popcorn—this episode is pure frontier soap opera.Let's get into it.Then, join us on Patreon where Alison and Pamela chat about the recent Little House event in Indiana, and a preview of episodes to come!Links and Resources:Haven't signed up for Patreon yet? Welcome to Season 12 of Haunted AF! We're taking a trip to Simi Valley this week to visit the Airbnb where Poltergeist was filmed & dig into some creepy new films that are coming out. We'll also analyze some dreams and help a listener who's been suffering from some pretty intense sleep paralysis. We've got some great listener ghost stories to share, of course, and we'll say goodbye to a Haunted AF listener who was with us from very early one. Remember to send your scary stories to hauntedafpodcast@gmail.com and buy tickets to the Haunted AF NIGHT OF THE LIVING PODCAST on October 1st!
Today we're diving into one of Nellie Oleson's greatest hits (of villainy): The Talking Machine! Where nothing says "I love you" more than...SCIENCE.Laura gets bamboozled by 1800s high-tech: a talking machine (a phonograph!) that repeats what you say—perfect for confessing your secret crushes, unless that machine falls into the wrong hands. Which it does. (Cue Nellie). Chaos, blushing, and frontier-level pre-teen drama ensue, proving once again that nothing spreads faster than gossip in a town with 12 people and no Wi-Fi.Laura and Nellie find themselves pining for the same older, blonde man, Miss Beadle sees no issue with sending kids into a lightning storm, and Laura kills yet another tree—all in the name of love. Then join us on Patreon, where special guests Pamela Roylance and Stan Ivar—the Carters!—sit down with us to share stories about their time on Little House on the Prairie. Today, we're joined by two very special guests—the Carters themselves! Pamela Roylance and Stan Ivar are here to discuss the episode “Alden's Dilemma” and share some of their favorite memories from Little House on the Prairie. But that's not all!Pamela and Stan are also starring in A.R. Gurney's beloved play Love Letters, directed by none other than Little House casting director Susan McCray. You can catch them live at the Whitefire Theatre, starting tonight—August 21st through August 31st!In “Alden's Dilemma,” Mr. Edwards smells trouble—and it's not just his long johns. A suspiciously charming young minister arrives in Walnut Grove, and suddenly, he's getting more house calls from Laura and Mrs. Carter than Doc Baker during flu season. Naturally, Edwards assumes the worst: romance, scandal, and maybe even poetry. Meanwhile, poor Reverend Alden starts to wonder if he's about to be replaced by a younger model with better hair and shinier sermons.Meanwhile, in a completely unrelated subplot that feels like it wandered in from another show, Almanzo and John Carter take a bro-trip to San Francisco, where they stay in a Japanese-style hotel, get mugged by a sweet-looking grandma, tossed in jail, and generally fumble their way through the city like two prairie dads lost in a big-city sitcom. Then join us on Patreon, where Alison tells us about the incredible guest stars who appeared in this episode, and the surprisingly tragic ending for one of the characters that will leave you shocked!Links and Resources:Haven't signed up for Patreon yet? In this episode of The Broadband Bunch, host Brad Hine interviews Juan Pinzon, a project manager at Aspire Communications, from Fiber Connect 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee. Juan shares insights into the evolution of Aspire Communications from a small startup into a broadband service provider. With a focus on fiber optic network design and construction, Aspire has grown significantly, particularly in Florida and California. Juan discusses his role at Aspire, which involves everything from splicing to sales, and how the company has expanded into offering ISP services. He highlights key projects, including their work in Leesburg, Florida, and the impressive leap into California's Simi Valley, where they've built underground fiber networks. Throughout the conversation, Juan reflects on the challenges and rewards of working in fiber optics, including the importance of building strong teams, finding the right partners, and evolving as a company. He also shares the company's vision for bridging the digital divide, with a focus on residential and small government projects.

This week on the Episode 73 of the I'M PEAKING Podcast, we're joined by the legend himself, Tanner Petulla (aka GETTER)—who's been making waves in the EDM and rap scenes for YEARS. From surviving gangrene at Electric Forest to being the best skater in the entire LA Valley as Bryce on The Real Bros of Simi Valley, Getter brings all the stories. We talk about his new sound now that he's back in the EDM game, his regret over the backlash on his Visceral album, and whether his Terror Reid project will live on. Plus, Getter drops an unreleased rap/dubstep track and surprises us with a happy, unreleased feel-good banger.
This week on Black & Gold Insider, Max Bretos talks to LAFC2 midfielder Matt Evans about learning the ropes in Simi Valley, coming to the LAFC Academy, being in a dual national household, and now representing the senior Guatemala national team at the Gold Cup. Can they make the World Cup?
Markus Zizenbacher in conversation with David Eastaugh https://www.sixpackfilm.com/en/catalogue/2916/ A blazingly colourful and exuberantly transgressive personality who dazzled Los Angeles' underground musical and artistic scenes in the late-1990s and 2000s, Sean DeLear (1964-2017) suddenly emerged as a genuinely seminal cultural figure via the posthumous 2022 publication of their intimate and explicit teenage diaries from 1979. I Could Not Believe It joyously chronicles the experiences of a young Black, queer creative finding their identity, voice and style decades before Barry Jenkins' (rather more downbeat) Moonlight. The Life of Sean DeLear is a vibrantly multi-faceted, buoyantly propulsive documentary portrait of this irresistibly charismatic one-off — sketched in celebratory but commendably clear-eyed style by writer-director Markus Zizenbacher. There can be very few people better qualified to do justice to this particular tale. Zizenbacher befriended DeLear — born Anthony Robertson in Simi Valley, an obscure California backwater — after the latter relocated to Vienna in the early 2010s. There the former frontperson of Silver Lake postpunk-combo Glue reinvented themselves as a cabaret performer and collaborated with famed art-collective Gelitin before passing away aged just 52. "SeanDe" entrusted their treasure-trove audiovisual archive to Zizenbacher, who with co-editor Sebastian Schreiner has crafted an eclectic collage generously spiced with effervescent extracts from DeLear's own extensive video-diaries. These jagged hand-held snapshots bring back to often-hilarious life the electric days (and especially nights) from a quarter of a century ago, placed in retrospective context by present-day testimony from the survivors who knew SeanDe best and loved them the most. Donald Trump is rumored to have a plan to receive a $400 million plane from Qatar, retrofitted to serve as Air Force One. On its face, it's a straightforward diplomatic gift to the United States, meant to replace aging presidential aircraft. But the controversy kicked into overdrive with reports that this plane could eventually end up in Trump's hands personally, via his presidential library. That's where things get murky.Let's start with facts. The two current Air Force One planes have been flying since the George H.W. Bush era. They're overdue for replacement, and Boeing was contracted to deliver new ones. But Boeing's been a mess—delays, scandals, technical issues. Trump, frustrated with the pace, toured a Qatari 747-8 already fitted for luxury use. This plane is 13 years old, but still valued around $400 million.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. Now, Qatar is a massive buyer of American military hardware. We're talking $26 billion in purchases over the past decade. In that context, a $400 million jet as a gesture of goodwill isn't shocking. What makes this different is the personal angle. According to ABC's original report, Trump's library would receive the plane by January 1, 2029 — before Trump's successor takes office, and potentially before Boeing's replacements are ready. If true, that would mean Trump gets to keep a retrofitted Air Force One for personal use, while the next president is stuck with the old models. For me, that's the red line. If Trump forces his successor to downgrade because he took the new plane for himself, that's blatant self-dealing. If the plane stays in the rotation until Boeing delivers, and only then moves to his library, it becomes more of a vanity project — still unusual, but not unprecedented. Reagan's old Air Force One is parked at his library, after all. You can even see it in some of Trump's old debates, the ones held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. But Reagan's plane wasn't transferred to him personally right after his presidency. It stayed in service until Clinton's term ended before being disassembled and reassembled in Simi Valley. Trump's timeline — if ABC's reporting holds — would be far more aggressive, and far more self-serving.The frustrating part is how little clarity we've gotten. Most coverage fixates on whether it's “appropriate” for Qatar to give the U.S. a plane. That's not the interesting question. The real issue is when Trump plans to take personal control of it. That's what determines whether this is normal diplomatic horse-trading — or brazen corruption.Until we get a straight answer on that, this story stays in limbo. Potential scandal or overblown noise — we just don't know yet.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:03:55 - Qatari Plane Deal00:18:10 - Update00:21:19 - John Fetterman00:24:52 - David Hogg00:27:13 - Inflation00:31:11 - Interview with Matt Laslo01:17:52 - Wrap-up This is a public episode. This Day in Legal History: Los Angeles RiotsOn April 29, 1992, the Los Angeles riots erupted following the acquittal of four LAPD officers charged with excessive force in the beating of Rodney King, an African American motorist. The brutal 1991 beating had been captured on video and widely broadcast, leading to public outrage. However, when a largely white jury in suburban Simi Valley found the officers not guilty of assault and use of excessive force, it sparked immediate and widespread unrest. Over six days, riots, looting, arson, and violence resulted in more than 60 deaths, thousands of injuries, and nearly $1 billion in property damage. The events prompted a national conversation about police accountability, racial injustice, and the legal standards for the use of force.Legally, the case led to significant developments: the U.S. Department of Justice later brought federal civil rights charges against the officers, resulting in two convictions. The riots also accelerated efforts to reform policing practices, sparked lawsuits, and influenced federal legislation concerning police oversight. The King case remains one of the most prominent examples in American legal history where video evidence, jury perception, and civil rights law collided in dramatic fashion. On Monday, U.S. law firm Jenner & Block is asking a federal judge to permanently block an executive order issued by President Donald Trump that penalizes the firm for its past employment of Andrew Weissmann, a prosecutor involved in the Russia investigation. Trump's order, issued on March 25, aims to restrict Jenner's access to federal facilities and terminate government contracts held by its clients. Jenner argues the order violates the First Amendment's protection of free speech and the Fifth Amendment's guarantee of due process. The case will be heard by U.S. District Judge John Bates, a Republican appointee, in Washington. Three other firms — Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, and Susman Godfrey — have also sued to block similar executive orders. So far, judges have temporarily halted major parts of Trump's orders in these cases. The broader context involves Trump's pressure campaign against law firms he views as politically opposed. Meanwhile, other major firms have pledged significant pro bono support to White House causes to avoid being targeted. Jenner is also suing the administration over its actions concerning transgender rights and agency funding freezes.US law firm Jenner asks court to permanently bar Trump executive order | ReutersPresident Donald Trump plans to sign an executive order requiring the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security to compile a list within 30 days of cities and states that are not complying with federal immigration laws. The move escalates Trump's ongoing battle against so-called "sanctuary" jurisdictions, which limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement. This follows a federal judge's recent decision blocking the administration from withholding funds from these jurisdictions. Trump officials highlighted a sharp drop in illegal border crossings since he took office, though deportations have fallen compared to Biden's administration. ICE detention centers are over capacity, leading the government to prepare facilities like Fort Bliss and to continue using Guantanamo Bay for migrant detention. Separately, controversy arose after a Wisconsin judge was arrested for allegedly helping a defendant avoid immigration authorities, an action defended by the Trump administration. Despite divided public opinion, Trump's immigration policies maintain relatively strong approval ratings compared to his handling of other issues.Trump to sign order requiring list of sanctuary cities, states, official says | ReutersMy column for Bloomberg this week argues that if Congress wants professional sports to be more equitable, accountable, and less reliant on taxpayer subsidies, it should rethink a looming tax change that would punish the Atlanta Braves—the only MLB team subject to full public oversight. A new cap on salary deductions for public companies under Section 162(m) is set to take effect in 2027, and while not aimed directly at sports teams, it would hit the Braves with an estimated $19 million annual tax hike. Meanwhile, billionaire-owned private teams would continue enjoying deduction benefits without similar transparency obligations.I explain that public ownership brings clear benefits: the Braves are required to file audited financials, face investor scrutiny on major spending decisions, and have less flexibility to threaten cities with relocation demands. Unlike private ownership groups that can easily pressure municipalities for stadium subsidies, publicly traded teams must answer to broader stakeholder interests. Moreover, public teams can raise capital through stock or bonds instead of leaning on taxpayers.Rather than penalizing the only team operating under these conditions, Congress should create incentives—like a targeted entertainment industry carveout—to encourage more public ownership. The goal isn't to give special treatment to the Braves, but to promote a model that favors transparency, accountability, and financial independence from taxpayers. Letting the current tax rule stand would send the wrong message: rewarding secrecy while punishing openness—and that's bad policy not just for baseball, but for public trust. Four days after Megan Barroso disappeared, another woman was attacked. This time in broad daylight. Then came a break—an arrest that had nothing to do with murder or rape. A petty burglary. A bag in the trash. A call to the police. And suddenly, everything changed. In Part 2 of our coverage on the Simi Valley Rapist, Jac and Alexis follow the unraveling of the mystery: the evidence hidden in plain sight, the roommates who unknowingly lived with a predator, and the moment police discovered who had been behind the mask all along. The truth would shock a city—and reveal just how many lives had come terrifyingly close to the edge.

Between 1996 and 2001, a series of violent attacks terrorized the seemingly idyllic community of Simi Valley, California. Women were being terrorized in their homes. Families were jolted from sleep by the sounds of screams—and silence. There was no pattern. No suspect. No name. In episode 346, Jac and Lex trace the early crimes of the man the press would eventually dub the Simi Valley Rapist. And just when the community began to breathe again, a bright, beloved 20-year-old college student vanished without a trace. The search for her would reignite the hunt for a man no one had ever seen—but who was always watching.
Spring is in the air—even for Alison in France! Hard to believe it's been over a year since the Simi Valley 50th Anniversary event. It feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago… and we're still recovering. HA! Today, we're diving into our first Season 7 episode recap: The In-Laws—a whirlwind of absurd hilarity starring our favorite duo, Dean Butler and Michael Landon. This episode serves up Pa/Almanzo tension in the silliest way possible, blending slapstick humor with some questionable frontier authenticity (mountains on the prairie, anyone?). Michael Landon's comedic brilliance shines, but let's be real—this episode asks us to completely suspend our belief in historical accuracy. And these days? That kind of creative license wouldn't fly in TV production, which makes us even more curious (and hopeful!) about the upcoming Netflix adaptation. Meanwhile, the 1800s patriarchy is alive and well, as bet-making seems to be totally fine with Ma and Laura. We also have Alison's infamous pickle-and-ice-cream moment, plus Percival and Doc Baker's utterly maddening reaction to her *gasp* gaining weight. Oh, the joys of period-accurate sexism… Other highlights include:Albert rocking some impressive peach fuzzGarvey's return (and a shirtless Andy for all you Teen Beat fans!)The telephone playing a surprisingly important roleAnd seriously—can someone take Mary out to a restaurant for once?!And of course, no chaotic trip to Sleepy Eye would be complete without the comedic genius of Eddie Quillan, who steals the show as Cavendish, Pa's latest nuisance. Dean and Alison also pull back the curtain on the technical side of Little House, dishing about the extensive voiceover work (aka "looping") that was a staple of the show—much to Dean's chagrin. And finally, the real question: Did Michael Landon wax his chest?
