The Guyver is back in this grittier straight to video sequel. Producer James, George, and Meghan continue the arguments from the first movie's logic regarding aliens and zoanoids along with the protocols of archaeological digs. Luckily for us, we know Stasia from Pop Culture Role Call who is an expert in one of those things.
For the first and probably only time the Crew watches a movie that was never released.....it escaped. Producer James, Meghan, and George watched this Roger Corman-produced disaster in all of its low-grade glory.

Watching a Jackie Chan movie on it's own is a treat. Watching a manga movie with Jackie Chan is a bonus. Watching this crazy, delightful insanity made Producer James, Meghan, Nick, and George's night!!
For first and most likely only time the hosts watched a movie that wasn't technically based on a comic book. Producer James, Meghan, and George watched Doctor Mordrid, a movie that was supposed to be Doctor Strange right up to the point where they were about to make it. Shenanigans ensue.
Put on your leather cat suit, gather your freak show buddies, and jump into your duck boat it's time for Batman Returns. Producer James, George and Meghan discuss Tim Burton's movie that happens to have a Batman in it.
The Crew watches a made for TV movie than no one knew they wanted and no one knew existed. This anthology movie based on the EC Comics title of the same name is full of the manliest stories that Robert Zemeckis, Frank Darabont, and Richard Donner could come up with. Get ready for shootouts, street races, being called "Yellow" and a young Brad Pitt's tongue.
Producer James, Alleycat Comics' Nick and George watched the byproduct of what happens when you take an ultraviolent manga and turn it into an ultraviolent live action movie. The most bonkers thing that any of us have watched ever.

The Turtles are back in Shenanigans: The Movie. Producer James, George, and Meghan watch this quickly produced, less violent sequel. Go Ninja! Go Ninja! Go!
These aliens came to Earth, but this isn't about that. And they changed humankind to be superweapons. It's not really about that either. It is about some guy's "Unit" making him "The Guyver" to fight humans who can turn into monsters. Producer James, Ruben, George, and Meghan watched "Pacific Rim Babies".....I mean "The Guyver."
The crew discusses the straight-to-video Captain America full of bright colors, Italian Nazis, and rubber ears.

Archie and gang have grown up and come home for their High School reunion. Time has passed but has anything changed? Producer James, Meghan, and George sit down to watch America's favorite love triangle as adults, sort of.
Cowabunga! This bodacious film requires some real tubular guests. Producer James and George are joined this week by Stasia and Mike from Pop Culture Role Call to discuss this movie based on a cartoon based on a toy based on a comic book. This 90's slang is exhausting.
This week we watched "The Death of the Incredible" franchise and the made-for-TV movie with the same title. Once again the Crew finds themselves in agreement that another character has all the most interesting bits of a Hulk move. Join Producer James, George, and Meghan and we pay our respects for this Marvel TV franchise.
Producer James, Alleycat Comics' Nick Idell, and George Munoz buckle up for the adrenaline thrill ride in one of the most unlikely films. A movie full of action, cultural insensitivities and fake stubble. It's everything that makes a 80's action flick great wrapped in a Punisher wrapper.
Holy dark and serious Batman! We've finally made it to the next major milestone in comic book movie history. Tim Burton's Batman changed the game and we finally get to watch it. Join Producer James, Ruben, and George and they discuss the Dark Knight and all the baggage that comes along with him.
Welcome to the cash grab everybody. Swamp Thing returns in a movie that barely feels like the makers ever read a Swamp Thing comic and only half watched the first movie. Producer James, Nick, and George watch this confusing sequel.
Bill Bixby is back to bring us another Marvel team up and this time the Hulk is meeting Daredevil. Except it's more like Banner teams up with Murdock. And there isn't a trial. I'm not sure about this title.

Welcome to Episode 50 where we are using the epicness of Howard the Duck to also change the name of the show. Comic Cinema Crew proudly presents the first ever Marvel movie. Listen as Producer James and Ruben Rosario try to make their way through this strange inter-species relationship comedy with special guest Stasia from Pop Culture Role Call.
Here we go again into manga/anime territory with Fist of the North Star. This post-apocalyptic kung fu series makes Producer James really question everything he doesn't know about the world of manga. Luckily for everyone, Professor Ruben is here to help.
Nick, Ruben and Producer James dip into the world of sword and sorcery with Red Sonja. This movie follows one of the toughest female characters in comic books as she plays second fiddle to Not Conan the Barbarian.
Welcome to the realm of the weird. Not only is this movie loosely based on one short story in the "Weird Science" comic book run it's also made by John Hughes. Follow two hapless losers as they create a woman using the awesome power of computers. This may be the most 80's a comic book movie can get.
Welcome to the first attempt at a cinematic universe in comic book movies by trying to expand the Superfamily with Supergirl. This 1984 film not only is the first appearance of the Girl of Steel but is also the first instance of magic being used as a main villain to a Kryptonian. This all star cast of Helen Slater, Faye Dunaway and Peter O'Toole couldn't save this trainwreck of a movie.
Producer James and Nick Idell from Alleycat Comics discuss the 1984 film "Sheena" starring Tonya Roberts. Full of beautiful scenery, good score, animal acting, and maybe a few too many nude scenes.
It's about time for another movie based on a manga and it's another film by Hayao Miyazaki. This week we watched "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind." We did not watch "Warriors of the Wind" and based on the poster no one ever should.
It's Yor's world, we are just watching it's insanity. Special guest and Reb Brown aficionado Jef Burnham joins our hosts to discuss this movie based on an Argentinian comic that is all the right amounts of crazy.
With breakneak speed we switch gears from the campiness of Superman III to the more serious "Barefoot Gen", the movie based on the experiences of a child who survives the bombing of Hiroshima. Even though this might be one of the more serious topics we discuss the movie is pretty entertaining.
Producer James and Ruben are not amused by the hijinx of the first comic book trilogy. Even though it is titled Superman III this movie is hijacked by the comedic shenanigans of Richard Pryor. Buckle up and try not to roll your eyes as hard as you can.
Prepared to be amazed by "Swamp Thing" in all of it's creature feature glory. It's Beauty and the Beast meets cheap rubber suit. What else do you need? Another creature in a cheap rubber suit. Sold! Recorded live at Alleycat Comics with Producer James and Nick Idell.
Sex, drugs, violence, and Rock & Roll. Heavy Metal (based on the illustrated fantasy magazine) has it all and sometimes a bit too much of it. Producer James, Ruben, and Nick from Alleycat Comics sit down and discuss this fun anthology film.
The horror continues as Ruben and Producer James watch yet another Marvel anime based on a horror property. Except this time there's not too much that makes it feel like a Marvel story. So join Dr. Frankenstein.... I mean Dr. Franken..... and Igor.... actually Zukel.... on this strange blend of genres all in one TV anime movie.
The adventure continues with a live record from Retcon. Special guests Nick Idell from Alleycat Comics and Stasia DeMaio from Pop Culture Role Call join our mild mannered hosts to watch the first big blockbuster sequel in our list. Plenty to discuss in this "Man of Steel" sized episode.
Keeping on that anime train we watched "Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned", but instead of based on a manga this one is based on "The Tomb of Dracula" from Marvel Comics. Be prepared for too many subplots that lead nowhere, too many characters that are unnecessary, and no real semblance of a likeable character in the whole bunch. On the plus side, it's not too long.
We are finishing up the 70's with another movie based on a manga and it's a double whammy for Producer James as this is his first foray into the world of Miyazaki as well. Buckle up for some exciting heist action in "The Castle of Cagliostro" based on the manga Lupin III.
Reb Brown returns as the Star-Spangled Avenger in this TV-movie that shows even more so why this TV series never made it off the ground. Get ready for some motorcycle tricks, awkward music stings, and painting random cats.
Captain America returns for this 1979 TV movie that is the closest we have seen to the real Cap. We talk extensive driving scenes, minimal fighting and holding onto a sheild for no good reason. With questionable costume choices and villains without much drive this movie is sure something to behold.
Look... up in the sky.... an actual good movie. Ruben and Producer James discuss the merits of this iconic film and how it completely changes the scene for blockbuster movies being based on comics.
Meanwhile... is back with new, exciting changes. Joined now by co-host Ruben Rosario we start with the 1978 TV movie Doctor Strange. Full of bizarre music, special effects, and hospital drama this may not have been the most exciting movie to come back with.
Continuing with the pattern of TV movies that later became pilots for their shows we venture on to "The Incredible Hulk" one of the more popular comic book tv shows for the uninitiated. Special guest Tom Whipps joins James to discuss the utterly dissapointing strength of the Hulk.
