About this episode: Somewhere along the way, "Manifestors are lone wolves" became one of the most repeated statements in Human Design. But... is it actually true? Chilling details have emerged of a recent failed bomb attack in the packed Food Court of the Ballito Junction Regional Mall. The device was placed by a 15-year-old radicalised teen intent on committing mass killing, but it failed to explode. The FBI alerted The Hawks, but the bomb had already been placed. The teen was finally arrested last week. In this interview with Chris Steyn, Willem Els, the Senior Training Coordinator on Terrorism and Explosives Related Incidents at the Transnational Threat and International Crimes Programme of the Institute for Security Studies, says: “For a long time, we've been warning about your prevalence of the so-called Lone Wolf scenario in South Africa…And this is maybe a wake-up call for South Africa ”. Prior to placing the bomb, the teen had published his Manifesto on Telegram. In it, he glorified mass killings and claimed that traumatic personal experiences had driven him to extremist online communities whose members were the only people who understood him. Listing all the red flags in the subsequent handling of the case, Els calls for a thorough IPID investigation.

Dick Harpootlian stood at a press conference podium and asked out loud whether Becky Hill acted alone. He didn't have to say it. He's been litigating high-profile cases for decades. When a defense attorney with that experience floats a question like that on day one of a federal lawsuit, it's not casual — it's a signal.Eric Faddis breaks down what Harpootlian is doing strategically and who the signal is aimed at. The Section 1983 lawsuit filed against Hill gives Murdaugh's team something they've never had before — civil discovery. Subpoena power. The ability to pull social media, take depositions, and put people under oath about what happened behind closed doors during the original trial.The South Carolina Supreme Court already ruled that Hill engaged in "shocking jury interference" and put "her fingers on the scales of justice." Hill pleaded guilty to misconduct, obstruction, and perjury. But the state prosecutor who handled her criminal case told the court there wasn't enough evidence for a jury tampering charge — a position the Supreme Court effectively rejected four months later.Now the Attorney General is considering the death penalty for the retrial. Federal depositions could run on a parallel track. Jim Griffin stood at the podium and asked the question that has been hanging over this case since the Supreme Court ruling: did Becky Hill act alone?The defense is not leaving it to speculation. They filed a federal civil rights lawsuit — a Section 1983 claim — against the former Colleton County Clerk, alleging she stripped Alex Murdaugh of his right to a fair trial. The court already agreed the trial was compromised. What the lawsuit wants to determine is how it was compromised, by whom, and whether Hill had help.Civil discovery gives the defense something the criminal process never did: the ability to subpoena witnesses, compel depositions, and demand documents that might reveal the full picture. The complaint spotlights the removal of Myra Crosby from the jury — the egg lady juror whose departure during deliberations remains one of the most troubling unanswered questions from the original trial.The financial piece is straightforward. The defense seeks over six hundred thousand dollars representing first-trial costs. They went out of their way to state publicly that Murdaugh will not personally receive any of it. The money goes to the receivership.But the money is not the point. The investigation is. The defense argues the state had every opportunity to look into Hill's conduct and chose not to. No thorough examination. No deep dive into who knew what.
