Earned Respect G checks Ted Cruz for his hypocritical and selfish actions this week as Texas struggles to provide electricity and essential supplies to their citizens. The squad ends by giving their thoughts and prayers to the Jackson family and speaks on the passing of 38 year old, retired NFL pro, Vincent Jackson.
Part 2 of this week's episode starts with the Ray J Unbreakable Glasses video. After a good laugh, the ER squad speaks on Meek Mill's controversial Kobe Bryant lyric in a recent collaboration with Lil Baby on the song, Don't Worry (RIP Kobe). The announcement of NBA Allstar starters was discussed as Lebron made is 35,000th NBA point. Less than 4,000 to pass Kareem for all-time career points! The idea of Lebron becoming an NFL player during the NBA lockout season of 2011 is a forever classic that we had to talk about it and we end the segment discussing NBA/NFL recent moves and trade rumors.
In part 1 of this week's episode, the Earned Respect squad talks about the recently released Mortal Kombat trailer. Erik's show within our show breaks the 4th wall breifly and the conversation eventually turns into movies in general. Erik ends the segment sharing a story that only rivals Vaughn's in this week's Preshow.
This week's preshow was hilarious. The conversation started with a light Mardi Gras education from Donny and then transitioned into a story from Vaughn that we still can't believe happened. The preshow ended with a discussion on the best comedy out of House Party, Coming to America, Friday, and Harlem Nights.
Part 2 of this week's episode started off with Donny breaking down his epic sports weekend, topped off with a Super Bowl victory. We transition to the NBA but end up discussing the hypothetical, never-gonna-happen, scenario of the 4v3 matchup between the Earned Respect squad against the Brooklyn Net's big 3. As always, we end the episode with our Earned Respect of the week.
