A historian at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Montrie is classified as a White Man and his research interests include: “'Blackface' Minstrelsy, Racial Exclusion, and Labor Environmentalism.” Gus is slowly learning a great deal about the history and import of Racially Restricted Regions (so-called “sundown towns”).
