The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: Legislative leadership has clear corruption that needs rooting out and once again, Rep. Charlie Geren, enforcer/hatchetman for Straus, Bonnen, Phelan, and now Burrows, appears to be involved – no surprise is that! This issue is emblematic of all that is wrong in our country – a group of people who, once elected or in a position of perceived power, see themselves as a sort of American Aristocracy – that it inherently unAmerican.Other news from the legislature: Senators Approve Constitutional Amendment Protecting Parental Rights School Choice Battle Intensifies as Texas House Committee Hears Testimony Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.Degenerate libs are in a huff because U.S. Rep. Shows opening in Washington and Dublin this month explore quiltmaking by African American women. Ben Luke talks to Raina Lampkins-Fielder, chief curator for the Souls Grown Deep Foundation, and the organiser of the exhibition Kith & Kin: The Quilts of Gee's Bend at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), about the history of quiltmaking in this small part of Alabama, and the growing recognition of its artistic importance. The Musée Picasso in Paris this week unveiled its exhibition “Degenerate” art: Modern art on trial under the Nazis, which looks back not just at the infamous 1937 exhibition in Munich but also the years-long campaign to attack modern art and artists in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s. We speak to the exhibition's co-curator, Johan Popelard. And this episode's Work of the Week marks the death last week of Mel Bochner, a leading figure in the development of conceptual art. We speak to his gallerist, Peter Freeman, who knew and worked with Bochner for more than 50 years. We look in particular detail at the 1969 work, 48" Standards (#1).Last chance: The Art Newspaper's book The Year Ahead 2025, an authoritative guide to the year's unmissable art exhibitions, museum openings and significant art events, is available to buy at theartnewspaper.com for £14.99 or the equivalent in your currency, until Sunday, 23 February. Good evening I am back and Oh how I have missed..... most of you. I am pleased to announce that I have officially joined a new crypto company as a paid non paid intern.. I accidentally landed some new employment that I found on Discord when I thought I was logging into my very expensive porn account. Alas. It is a privilege to be thrust into an industry responsible for banking the unbanked and unnecessary. To be clear, it is not that I need a job, it was just that I need funding outside of my dwindling Trustfund to support my chronic Degenerate memecoin and Christian Louboutin addiction side ordered with usual sessions with Psychic Derek on Rodeo Drive, who btw says Ethereum is a boomer chain.I digress. Lets start from the beginning. I realized I needed employment for money that I did not want to ask my husband for.I realize crypto fixes this. Yet I had no legitimate interests other than Rich people and scams. I am indeed creepto native. I've made out with Do Kwon at the Four Seasons Lobby Permissionless 2017, and I can deposit $1000 dollars of my husband's money into my Kraken account to buy Pax Gold hashtag Tokenize Atangonize. I digress. My guest today is Sir Joseph Cox, who's cobalt blue collar background and lack of cartilage in his nose goes well with his startlingly romantic understanding of literature and Patricidicial Operas. He is our White Knight Sam Bankman Fried meets the rough and tough Mark Wahlberg Wrestler of our crypto generation who can reference opera, Volatility, and can beatup a thug on the subway in the same breadth. C'est sexy. C'est scary. With his keen mathematical mind and rampantly stringent approach to risk, Joseph and his team at Valmar do a lot of things at Valmar to manage crypto funds that I do not understand. They do not use Discord. Joseph and I met on the jury of the Karen Read trials in January of 2022 late night at the Ritz hotel in Boston, over dirty martinis pouring over the witness' neighbors text messages while talking opera and Solana, utterly convinced of her guilt and her innocence and her guilt and then back again, much like how the jurors of OJ Simpson must have felt. Joe despite his cobalt blue collar background, has built himself up to the creme da la creme of the glitterati of crypto hedge fund knowledge and success and it was a pleasure for him to grace Headquarters. I look forward to returning to Jury. See you at the St. Regis. #GlitterLedger

NASCAR is headed to Phoenix for the championship finale but before that happens, Steve Letarte and the guys react to all the craziness that happened last weekend at Martinsville. Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney and William Byron are racing for a championship, but that doesn't mean they are the four favorites according to the Professor. His model only has Blaney and Byron in Tier 1. The other drivers at the top are Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. While Bell isn't racing for a championship the guys think he is the odds-on favorite to win.Reddick is the lowest driver of the Championship 4 contenders, sitting in Tier 3. Logano sits in Tier 2 but having two weeks to gameplan for this race could help him. However, Tampa Timms has his eyes on Logano and Reddick top-5 bet. The guys then guess what Vegas has for average finishing position for: Harrison Burton, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Daniel Suarez, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Cindric. The best bet on the board is a two-way bet. Bet Bubba top-10 at +250 and over average finishing position of 14.5.The guys also handicap the champ 4 for Xfinity and trucks. And, last but not least in the Degenerate 4 Pack this week is: Texas team total over 29.5 vs Florida Indiana -6.5 vs Michigan Eagles -6.5 vs Cowboys Lions -3.5 vs Texans For more content head to our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DirtyMoDough

This Sunday is the final race before the championship finale and two spots are up for grabs at Martinsville. Steve Letarte and the boys handicap the race and discuss that Goodyear has their softest tire ever this weekend, but Steve isn't so sure we will see the falloff everyone is hoping for (6:00).At the top of the Professor's predictor are: Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, and Chase Elliott, who all happen to be below the cutline (10:00). Hendrick Motorsports still doesn't have a driver locked in to the championship race and Steve talks about how they will handle Sunday's race and what to expect.Christopher Bell is able to point his way in sitting at +27, so don't bet him to win (18:20).Tampa Timms has one bet so far on driver to win and that is on Ryan Blaney (22:10). And he is going back to a bet that has cashed the last two weeks — William Byron over Kyle Larson at plus money (25:45). He also likes Alex Bowman over Josh Berry and Blaney over Hamlin. This week for average finishing position, producer Travis gives the drivers and the guys guess what the number is for their average finishing position bet (30:10).The Degenerate 4-Pack suffered another loss thanks to Steve and the Professor's awful picks while Tampa Timms has tried to carry the bunch. This week's 4-leg parlay is: Florida/Georgia over 47.5 points Oregon -6.5 vs Michigan Navy -9.5 vs Rice Commanders -3.5 vs GiantsTravis and the Professor also made a friendly wager on the Ohio State/Penn State game that has a temporary tattoo on the line. For more content head to our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DirtyMoDough

Before moving on to this weekend's race at Homestead, Steve Letarte and the boys recap how Las Vegas went. While Tampa Timms had a winning day betting on the race, Denny Hamlin's day didn't go as well (5:45). Steve discusses the 11 team's pit crew and tells a story about changing pit crews mid-race with Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.NASCAR enters the second race of the Round of 8, and it's looking like a Playoff driver will once again win the race. Sitting in Tier 1 of the Professor's model are Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Denny Hamlin (10:12). While Tampa Timms likes Larson, at +350 he is going to avoid that number. On the flipside, Bell is +700 and that is a bet now play.Tampa Timms does have one underdog that he is putting a sprinkle on that shocks everyone (13:10).Alex Bowman top-10 bet has cashed a lot this season, but with three other HMS cars in the Playoffs Tampa Timms doesn't think this is the week to bet on him (17:00).Byron was plus-money last weekend to beat Larson and he pulled it off (21:00). He is plus-money once again and the guys think it's worth it to bet that he can beat one guy.The guys normally don't touch group bets but Producer Travis found one this weekend that is a fade SHR bet (23:25).In the Xfinity race on Saturday, it's really simple. Bet Cole Custer (29:15).The Degenerate 4 Pack suffered another loss last weekend but the guys are hopeful they can get a win. The 4 leg parlay this week is: Syracuse +7.5 vs Pittsburgh Indiana moneyline vs Washington Texas -18.5 vs Vanderbilt Penn State moneyline vs Wisconsin
Take a quick look around you and you'll easily see the degradation of the family, the undermining of both masculinity and femininity, the perversion of virtue and even things like “man” and “woman”, and the dismantling of societal norms that have served the world for good for centuries. It's not hard to see that in many ways, some of our most influential institutions (government, academia, entertainment, and medicine) are actively working against us. My guest today, author and cultural commentator, Andrew Klavan joins me to talk about what is happening in society today and what, we as men, can do about it. We discuss extreme feminism and the male equivalent – Red Pill and MGTOW, the difference between happiness, fulfillment, and joy (and which to pursue), why men like Andrew Tate have come to influence millions of men – and why that's not a good thing, how the powers that be are getting people to turn against each other, and so much more. After hearing how traces of plastic are now being found in hearts that are being examined in autopsies, Cal plays a conversation with a man who has devoted his future to combatting the problem. After working at Adidas for 26 years, Eric Leidtke pivoted to start the Unless Collection, a company that makes shoes, socks and all kinds of clothing out of plants, not plastics. In fact, the Unless Collection's shoes, The Degenerate, can be thrown in a hole in your backyard after they're worn out and they'll biodegrade without leaving behind a trace of pollution. Scientists predict that by 2050, the oceans will have more plastic in them than fish by tonnage. It's important that everyone knows about the work being done by Unless Collection. So, please, spread the word!
Sam Kahn is a writer and film producer by day with a passion for chess, and particularly, the lessons we can learn from chess history. Sam is especially fascinated by the distinct chess styles that one can see by playing through the games of prior greats like Lasker, Pillsbury and Capablanca. He writes about the lessons we can learn from these players in his excellent new collaboration with IM Cyrus Lakdawala, A Century of Chess Book 1: 1900-1909. Of course, before Sam became consumed by chess history, he obsessively focused on his own game. Sam has his share of stories from all-nighters at NYC chess dens, and reflects on how he achieved the 2100 USCF level, and why he thinks it will be challenging to reach a highe level. Based on his own experiences, Sam also shares tips for navigating the narrow path from “degenerate” chess obsessive to healthy chess hobbyist. As an avid reader of Sam's blogs (both chess and non-chess), I was excited to hear him reflect on his own chess story. Timestamps of topics discussed are below.
