Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Sócrates continues our series "Witness" in today's service with a focus on the phrase "in Judea and Samaria" in Acts 1:8. He shares with us the historical and social context that Jesus' disciples would have understood when they received this instruction. As we learn how harshly those in Judea felt about those in Samaria, we see that same temptation in our age to ignore and reject "those" people. Pastor Sócrates rephrases Jesus' instructions for us: to go share the good news with those people, and to trust the promise of Jesus that we'll be blown away by what He will do. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. Please text the word "NEXT" to 407-77 so we can engage with you. Retail is a brutal industry where even the massive companies, that seem impossible to topple, can crumble. Crate and Barrel has long been a household name in American retail, which shaped how generations of consumers furnish their homes. What started as a small Chicago storefront in the 1960s has grown into a $2B global brand with over 100 locations, a powerful online presence, and sister brands like CB2 and Crate & Kids that continue to redefine the home shopping experience. In this episode of The Reboot Chronicles, we sit down with Gordon Segal, the co-founder of Crate and Barrel. As the Chairman and CEO, Gordon grew Crate & Barrel into a global home furnishings powerhouse, pioneering the accessible modern design movement that rebooted American retail through experiential store layouts, minimalist merchandising, and international sourcing. A pioneer in retail, Gordon helped create an accessible, design-forward brand long before “lifestyle retail” became a thing. Follow along as Gordon reflects on Crate and Barrel's humble beginnings, keys to scaling a values-driven business, tough leadership transitions and reboots, and how staying true to culture remains a competitive advantage—even in an era of Amazon and Wayfair.

Hipparchia of Maroneia (c.300 BCE) was a Greek philosopher and one of the few women known to have actively participated in ancient philosophical discourse. A member of the Cynic school, she rejected wealth, societal expectations, and traditional gender roles to live a life of radical simplicity and public defiance alongside her husband, Crates of Thebes. They are aesthetic pioneers, norm-benders, and often the only woman in their field. History classes can get a bad rap, and sometimes for good reason. When we were students, we couldn’t help wondering... where were all the ladies at? Why were so many incredible stories missing from the typical curriculum? Enter, Womanica. On this Wonder Media Network podcast we explore the lives of inspiring women in history you may not know about, but definitely should. Every weekday, listeners explore the trials, tragedies, and triumphs of groundbreaking women throughout history who have dramatically shaped the world around us. In each 5 minute episode, we’ll dive into the story behind one woman listeners may or may not know–but definitely should. These diverse women from across space and time are grouped into easily accessible and engaging monthly themes like Educators, Villains, Indigenous Storytellers, Activists, and many more. This week alone, I imagine I've spent around 4-5 hours looking through crates in record stores.. and in other news, for the first time seriously inquired about playing records in a huge record store in person for shoppers and passers-by. Sent the email so we'll see what happens. I was geeked to find the original single of Jump Around from '92, the official tip-off song of my beloved Carolina Tar Heels. That greatest hits album from Little River Band didn't disappoint either. What a slapper. Really went to the moon when I found that E-40 record in the cheap LP's pile. Come on now. How about that bass registration from A Milli on wax. Holy smokes. Intermished it all with the Mulan song? Come on guys. Leave me alone. This is fantastic stuff here if I may say so myself. About to finish a doodle on the iPad now for the next shirt drop on www.coffeestainclothing.com I visited my local coffee shop today, like I do everyday, but today I showed up bearing gifts.
