Romans 8:28-30 — By denying the doctrine of the final perseverance of the saints, there will be inevitable negative implications for everything else that is true about Christian salvation. Perhaps even more problematic, says Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones in his sermon on Romans 8:28–30 titled “The Unbreakable Chain,” is the confusion and chaos that is introduced about God by those affirming the apostasy of genuine believers. He examines the harmony of each link in the apostle Paul's unbreakable chain, noting how each inevitably hangs together. By considering the negative implications for the doctrine of predestination and foreknowledge, Dr. Lloyd-Jones demonstrates the absurd conclusions that must be affirmed about God when one holds to the possibility of a true believer falling from grace. Continuing through the chain of redemption, he argues that those who affirm the apostasy position make God's “call” pointless and the doctrine of justification an error-filled action on God's part. However, the doctrine of rebirth and union with Christ should settle the matter altogether, says Dr. Lloyd-Jones. It is scandalous to suggest that God's creative work in giving new life and His seating of His people in the heavenly places with Christ can be suddenly undone. Listen to Dr. Lloyd-Jones's argument for an unbreakable chain in salvation and find encouragement in the blessed doctrine of assurance from beginning to end. Absolutely no one warned us that midlife would be this loud—hot flashes, achy joints, bone density, belly fat, all competing for attention at once. And yet the message women still get is, “This is just how it is.”In this episode, I'm joined by orthopedic sports surgeon and longevity visionary Dr. Vonda Wright, author of Unbreakable: A Woman's Guide to Aging with Power. “Bankable and Unbreakable — That's Hope Worth Waiting For”Romans 15:4-134 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. 8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed 9 and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written:“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;    I will sing the praises of your name.”10 Again, it says,“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”11 And again,“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;    let all the peoples extol him.”12 And again, Isaiah says,“The Root of Jesse will spring up,    one who will arise to rule over the nations;    in him the Gentiles will hope.”13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.CONNECT WITH USIf you have any questions or would like to get to know us further, head over to https://www.triumphlbc.org/connect and fill out our online connection card.ABOUT TRIUMPHTriumph wants to see the life and message of Jesus transform your heart, home, and city. Mendi and Kari explain how their paths in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu shaped their approach to leadership and why creating a women's-only environment has become an important part of their mission. We explore their views on competition, mindset, and the technical areas they believe make the biggest difference for women as they progress in the sport. We also talk through the challenges of organizing safe and constructive open mats, maintaining a safe culture during training, and planning for the future event. Whether you're new to jiu-jitsu, a competitor, or someone interested in building stronger training communities, this conversation offers insight into the purpose behind Unbreakable and how it continues to evolve.

Table of Contents Toggle IntroductionUnderstanding Resilient LeadershipWhy Resilient Leadership MattersCommon Challenges and Limiting BeliefsStep-by-Step Implementation GuideReal-Life Success StoriesMistakes to AvoidAdvanced Strategies for MasteryCall to ActionQ&A Section Introduction Resilient leadership isn't built in strategy meetings or motivational workshops—it's built under load. Most leaders think resilience is about staying calm, staying positive, or staying busy. But that's not resilience. That's performance acting. The truth is far more uncomfortable: resilient leadership is the capacity to take on more pressure without breaking—and to keep rising even when the weight feels unbearable. The keyword resilient leadership stands at the center of this conversation because the modern leader isn't collapsing from lack of skill… they're collapsing from lack of capacity. You don't fix that with time hacks. You fix it with training. This is where the barbell becomes your greatest teacher. In CrossFit, I learned early that the weight never lies. The barbell tells you exactly who you are under pressure. It exposes weakness, reinforces discipline, and demands growth. Leadership does the same. Today, you'll learn how resilient leadership is built the same way strength is built: friction, load, recovery, and progressive challenge. And you'll learn why leaders who avoid metaphorical weight become fragile while those who train under stress become unstoppable. Understanding Resilient Leadership Resilient leadership is the ability to stay centered, decisive, and effective under pressure—even as demands, uncertainty, and responsibility increase. It is the mental toughness for leaders that separates those who fold from those who rise. The misconception? People assume resilience is a personality trait. Something fixed. Something you're born with. But pressure doesn't care about personality. Pressure only cares about capacity. In the gym, capacity is measured by load: how much weight you can move, how well you can stay composed, and whether you keep form when things get heavy. Leadership works the same way. Many leaders crumble not because the weight is too much… …but because they never trained for it. Resilient leadership is trainable. It is measurable. And it grows through deliberate exposure to stress, challenge, and responsibility—just like strength training. The barbell metaphor leadership model teaches us that you grow capacity the same way you grow strength: gradually, intentionally, and with humility. Resilient leadership skills emerge from adversity, repetition, discipline, and reflection. They aren't earned by reading leadership books—they're earned by carrying the load. Why Resilient Leadership Matters The world is not slowing down. Expectations aren't decreasing. Pressure isn't easing. Your people, teams, and family don't need a leader who is simply informed—they need a leader who can remain grounded when the room is shaking. CrossFit taught me that strength is never about the first reps. It's about the last ones—the ones completed when your mind is screaming for relief. Those reps build the ability to perform under fatigue. In leadership, the equivalent reps come when:   You're tired but must stay clear.   You're overwhelmed but must still decide.   You're uncertain but must still lead. This is why resilient leadership training becomes essential. When leaders lack resilience, everything downstream suffers—culture, morale, communication, execution, and results. You can't give clarity if you don't have inner stability. You can't drive performance if you're emotionally depleted. You can't inspire trust when you're constantly reactive. High-performance leadership habits aren't built in moments of ease—they're built under stress. And if you're not deliberately building your resilience muscles, the weight of leadership will eventually break you. Common Challenges and Limiting Beliefs Every leader struggles with the same three traps: “If I just get through this week, it will get easier.” This is the business version of hoping the weight magically gets lighter. It doesn't. The load always increases—sometimes gradually, sometimes overnight. “Resilience means doing it alone.” This is outdated warrior mythology. In strength training, no one grows without coaching, programming, accountability, and a system that pushes them just beyond their comfort zone. “I need to avoid stress.” Avoiding stress is the fastest way to shrink capacity. Overprotection weakens the system. Stress doesn't destroy leaders—poor recovery and lack of training does. Resilient leadership isn't about dodging pressure. It's about expanding who you become in the presence of it. Step-by-Step Implementation Guide Here's how to build resilient leadership using the principles of the barbell metaphor leadership model: Step 1: Load Before You're Ready In CrossFit, if you only lift when it's comfortable, you'll stay weak. The same is true in leadership. Begin deliberately taking on responsibilities, conversations, and decisions that stretch your emotional and mental capacity, expanding your tolerance for uncertainty and increasing your ability to stay composed under pressure. Step 2: Train with Intent Resilient leadership training requires conscious practice—structured reflection, emotional regulation techniques, nervous system resets, and pressure management rituals—all performed consistently to reinforce mastery and build a dependable foundation for responding to real-world challenges confidently. Step 3: Embrace Micro-Adversity Just as strength grows through controlled stress, resilience grows through micro-adversity—cold exposure, tough conversations, difficult workouts, disciplined routines, and intentional friction designed to strengthen your capacity for discomfort and sharpen your psychological edge. Step 4: Recover Like a Professional Recovery isn't optional—it's strategic. Leaders who fail to schedule recovery confuse burnout for weakness. Proper recovery replenishes energy, restores clarity, reinforces emotional balance, and ensures you can consistently show up with strength when pressure inevitably increases. Step 5: Build a Coaching Environment Even elite athletes need coaches. Leaders who avoid coaching plateau quickly. Coaching accelerates growth by calibrating load, challenge, and perspective, helping you identify blind spots, strengthen performance habits, and stay aligned with high-level leadership standards. This is how you build mental toughness for leaders—reps, reflection, and regulated stress. Real-Life Success Stories I've watched executives transform their leadership capacity the same way athletes transform under the bar. One client came in exhausted, overwhelmed, and convinced he was failing. We rebuilt his leadership habits the same way we'd rebuild a lifting program—load management, mental conditioning, energy protocols, emotional hygiene, and progressive challenge. Six months later, he was leading with decisiveness, clarity, and unshakable presence. His team noticed it. His family felt it. His results proved it. Resilient leadership is visible. You don't have to announce it. People feel it. Mistakes to Avoid   Trying to lift everything alone – isolation kills resilience, drains emotional capacity, limits perspective, and slowly erodes your ability to lead with clarity and grounded strength.   Avoiding conflict – conflict is pressure; pressure is training, and sidestepping it prevents growth, weakens influence, reinforces fear-driven behavior, and ultimately diminishes leadership credibility.   Overworking – fatigue without recovery is collapse, and grinding nonstop destroys focus, reduces creativity, impairs decision-making, and trains your nervous system to operate in permanent survival mode.   Being reactive – reactions kill precision and signal instability, creating unnecessary chaos, damaging trust, and undermining the reliability your team depends on during high-pressure moments.   Ignoring feedback – leaders blind to feedback lose their edge, miss critical growth opportunities, repeat avoidable mistakes, disconnect from their people, and gradually fall behind more adaptive competitors. Avoid these mistakes and your capacity will skyrocket. Advanced Strategies for Mastery If you want elite-level resilient leadership, adopt the following practices:   Contrast training: move between high-pressure and calm states intentionally to strengthen adaptability, sharpen cognitive control, and train your nervous system to handle rapid transitions without losing clarity, presence, or emotional stability.   Identity conditioning: see yourself as a resilient leader first—actions follow identity, and reinforcing this self-concept through daily behaviors, rituals, and decisions helps you embody strength even when external circumstances attempt to knock you off center.   Load calibration: weekly reviews of your responsibilities, energy, and emotional weight ensure you’re managing demands intelligently, preventing overload, redistributing pressure effectively, and staying ahead of burnout before it sneaks up and compromises your leadership effectiveness.   Archetype integration: balance Warrior discipline, King vision, Magician strategy, and Lover emotional intelligence by consciously activating each archetype, aligning your behavior with your highest potential, and ensuring no single aspect of your leadership becomes overextended or underdeveloped. This is where resilient leadership becomes a lifestyle, not a skill. Call to Action If you skimmed this, go back. Skimming is fragile behavior. Resilient leadership requires presence, pressure, and precision. If this resonated, it's because you know the truth: the barbell doesn't lie—and neither does your life. You're either growing capacity or losing it. If you're ready to train your resilience like an athlete trains for competition—if you're ready to build the leadership strength your team, your family, and your future demand—then it's time to step up. Sharpen your edge. Elevate your capacity. Book your Power Strategy Session and let's forge your next level. Q&A Section What is resilient leadership? Resilient leadership is the ability to stay composed, decisive, and effective under pressure while navigating complexity and stress. It matters because modern leaders face relentless demands, and without resilience, performance collapses. Imagine trying to lift a heavy barbell without proper training—the weight crushes you. Leadership works the same way. How can I develop resilient leadership skills? By treating resilience like strength training: progressive challenge, intentional stress exposure, structured reflection, emotional regulation, and mentorship. Leaders who integrate these practices rapidly expand capacity and confidence. Why do leaders struggle with resilience? Because most avoid discomfort. Resilience requires deliberate exposure to challenge. When leaders avoid conflict, stress, or hard decisions, they weaken their capacity over time. What is the role of coaching in resilient leadership? Coaching acts like a training program—it provides structure, pressure calibration, feedback, and accountability. Without coaching, leaders plateau. With coaching, they grow faster and sustain results. How does the barbell metaphor apply to leadership under stress? The barbell teaches that strength comes from controlled pressure, repetition, and recovery. Leadership mirrors this exactly. You build capacity by showing up, doing the reps, and leaning into the weight instead of avoiding it. .lwrp.link-whisper-related-posts{ margin-top: 40px; margin-bottom: 30px; } .lwrp .lwrp-title{ }.lwrp .lwrp-description{ } .lwrp .lwrp-list-container{ } .lwrp .lwrp-list-multi-container{ display: flex; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-double{ width: 48%; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-triple{ width: 32%; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-row-container{ display: flex; justify-content: space-between; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-row-container .lwrp-list-item{ width: calc(25% - 20px); } .lwrp .lwrp-list-item:not(.lwrp-no-posts-message-item){ } .lwrp .lwrp-list-item img{ max-width: 100%; height: auto; object-fit: cover; aspect-ratio: 1 / 1; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-item.lwrp-empty-list-item{ background: initial !important; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-item .lwrp-list-link .lwrp-list-link-title-text, .lwrp .lwrp-list-item .lwrp-list-no-posts-message{ }@media screen and (max-width: 480px) { .lwrp.link-whisper-related-posts{ } .lwrp .lwrp-title{ }.lwrp .lwrp-description{ } .lwrp .lwrp-list-multi-container{ flex-direction: column; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-multi-container ul.lwrp-list{ margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-double, .lwrp .lwrp-list-triple{ width: 100%; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-row-container{ justify-content: initial; flex-direction: column; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-row-container .lwrp-list-item{ width: 100%; } .lwrp .lwrp-list-item:not(.lwrp-no-posts-message-item){ } .lwrp .lwrp-list-item .lwrp-list-link .lwrp-list-link-title-text, .lwrp .lwrp-list-item .lwrp-list-no-posts-message{ }; } Related Posts The 4 Stages of Personal Growth For Personal Success20 Mental Strength Character Traits – Part 2: Warrior Mind Podcast #367Chunking Down To Workable Pieces: Warrior Mind Podcast # 160Risk Taking: Warrior Mind Podcast # 147 11 Tips for Personal Development: Warrior Mind Podcast #324Unlocking the Power of Character Archetypes Through Spirit Animals: A Path to TransformationLife Rules Shape Our Reality- Warrior Mind Podcast #6658 Bold Steps to Stop Living in Fear and Take Control

Justin Bieber BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Justin Bieber has kept headlines buzzing with a series of major career, business, and personal milestones over the past several days, each potentially pivotal for his long-term narrative. The biggest headline came from the business world as Justin's wife, Hailey Bieber, officially became a billionaire after elf Beauty agreed to acquire her skincare brand Rhode for a staggering one billion dollars. According to AOL Entertainment, Justin took to Instagram to celebrate Hailey, posting heartfelt photos of the two embracing and sharing a congratulatory message. The news was amplified by Hailey's own Vogue cover, where she dismissed persistent rumors about marriage troubles, emphasizing how strong and real their relationship is behind closed doors. This follows last weekend's buzzworthy moment when Justin surprised everyone with an unannounced performance alongside SZA at Kendrick Lamar's Grand National Tour in LA. Hailey, ever the supportive spouse, shared multiple Instagram clips of Justin serenading on stage and affectionately kissing SZA's hand, calling the artists her two favorites. On the business side, there's also been chatter about Justin's newest venture, the streetwear label SKYLRK, launched in July. India Today covered how Hailey has played an active role in design, with Justin maintaining full creative control and working alongside longtime collaborator Neima Khaila. Hailey, in a recent GQ interview, called the process “incredible and amazing,” noting that creative synergy is at the heart of their work—and their marriage. She also shared glimpses of their routine balancing family life with new parenthood, as the Biebers remain fiercely protective of their fifteen-month-old son Jack while navigating the realities of the public eye.Musically, Bieber made waves on November 13 with a livestream performance of “Purpose” featuring We The Band, as reported by numerous fan accounts and YouTube clips. While headlines haven't pointed to any brand-new releases, his continued presence onstage and participation in buzzy music nights—like the recent Justin Bieber Night in New York—show his enduring draw. There's also significant buzz ahead of a tribute concert to his catalog slated for November 22 in LA, reinforcing his impact on pop culture. On social, Justin has been trending for his show of support for Hailey, with followers praising his heartfelt messages for her business triumph. As for rumors, speculation about new music remains high but unconfirmed; none of the major outlets have reported definitive news on a Bieber album drop or tour plans. All told, the past week has been a blend of billion-dollar deals, intimate stage moments, and a united power couple publicly at ease with balancing fame, fashion, family, and future plans.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Send us a textThree teenagers are taken. A man with 23 personalities holds the key. And somewhere between adrenaline, trauma, and belief, a monster takes shape. We pull Split apart scene by scene to ask the questions the movie dares us to consider: what's real about Dissociative Identity Disorder, what's pure cinematic myth, and how should a survivor respond when seconds count. We start with the craft. James McAvoy's performance is a clinic in subtlety—posture shifts, eye focus, compulsive tidying, even a pulsing vein that signals Dennis before the script tells you. We connect those choices to the film's larger world, tracing threads back to Unbreakable and forward to Glass, and debate the line between a grounded thriller and a superhuman fable. The “Beast” stretches plausibility, but we explore why the idea resonates: the brain's role in pain tolerance, stress responses, and the way belief can change behavior—if not biology. Then we get practical. The rule we hammer home: never go to a second location. We analyze the missed opportunities the characters had—striking once and fleeing, hiding in predictable spots, dropping improvised weapons too soon—and translate them into tactics that work in real life. Target small, fragile points like eyes, throat, and fingers. Use what's around you: chairs, bottles, cleaning agents. Make noise, leave DNA, and if disgust helps, weaponize it. Unpredictability can break a predator's selection process, but nothing is guaranteed, so stack the odds with decisive action.Underneath the thrills lies a harder truth: trauma shapes people in complex ways. The film humanizes Kevin without excusing violence, and Casey recognizes the scars because she carries her own. That tension—empathy without naivete—fuels a deeper takeaway: prepare your mind now, so your body knows what to do when fear floods your system. If you're into survival strategy, film analysis, and the messy intersection of psychology and action, this one will stay with you.If this breakdown got you thinking, follow the show, share it with a friend who loves smart thrillers, and drop a review with your biggest takeaway or question—we'll feature the best in a future episode.

This episode is ideal for listeners seeking perspective, history enthusiasts, and anyone craving a return to core values like duty, integrity, and unity. The Silent Generation reminds us that gratitude, faith, and perseverance are timeless tools for building strength in an age of distraction.

Forget expensive biohacks and longevity gadgets; the real secret to anti-aging starts with getting you from “fine” to extraordinary through the basics that most doctors never discuss. Dr. Vonda Wright challenges the entire medical paradigm by treating patients as whole people rather than collections of body parts, revealing how a 46-year-old woman's frozen shoulder is actually a warning sign of perimenopause, inflammation, and systemic hormone depletion that conventional orthopaedics completely misses. Send us a textA bluebird training day turned into a life-altering crash, and that's where Mike Shaw's second story really begins. One moment he was a coach skiing at his peak; minutes later he was face down in the snow, breath crushed, limbs silent, and doctors warning he might never walk again. What came next is a masterclass in identity, belief, and the kind of gratitude that changes your chemistry. We go deep into how Mike separated who he is from what he does, crossing out labels until only values remained. He explains the subtle art of challenging limiting beliefs—those sneaky thoughts inherited from parents, bosses, or culture—and how to gather real evidence for your capability. You'll learn why mindset and physical healing aren't rivals, how hope fuels adherence, and how adherence drives outcomes over months and years. Mike shares his “feel-it” approach to gratitude that actually calms the nervous system, plus a practical problem scale that shrinks overreactions and validates real pain when it's present. We also unpack “recharge to charge forward,” reframing self-care as a responsibility to the people who rely on you. From setting physical goals that persist beyond comfort to embracing presence with family and the perspective of mortality, Mike shows how to live with urgency where it matters and ease where it doesn't. Service becomes an antidote to helplessness, and faith—religious or not—aligns hope with trust so optimism becomes a daily practice rather than a poster on the wall.If you've ever felt trapped by a label, crushed by a setback, or wired for urgency at the expense of meaning, this conversation is your reset. Tap play, take the problem scale for a spin, try gratitude you can feel, and let a longer horizon soften today's turbulence. Just over a year after the runaway success of his previous effort, The Sixth Sense, Oscar-nominated writer/director M. Night Shyamalan decided to follow it up with this genuinely unique thriller which had decent reviews and solid box office but was considered a bit of a disappointment mainly because the story was not at all what many audiences expected.  However over time, it developed enough of a following that the filmmaker evetually decided to make a proper sequel.  This is the strange tale of David Dunn (Bruce Willis), a mild-mannered security officer who has just survived a horrific train crash.  No one really understands why or how he was the ONLY survivor of an incident which resulted in the deaths of every one else on board, except......one eccentric comic book art collected/store owner named Elijah Price (Samuel) who might have a theory.  Their lives become intertwined and what results is a genuinely original tale of good and evil. Host: Geoff GershonEdited By Ella GershonProducer: Marlene Gershon Send us a textSupport the showhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Bone health is something most of us don't think about until much later in life, but the reality is that the foundation for strong, healthy bones is built decades earlier – and what we do in our 20s, 30s and 40s can make all the difference to our health and strength in later years. Today, I'm delighted to welcome Dr Vonda Wright. Vonda is an orthopaedic surgeon and internationally recognised authority on active ageing and mobility. She believes that with mobility, smart nutrition and building relationships, we can harness our own power to control 70% of our health and ageing. Vonda specialises in sports medicine and is one of only a few female orthopaedic surgeons in the United States. She currently serves as the inaugural Chief of Sports Medicine for the Northside Hospital Orthopaedic Institute and is the founding director of the Performance and Research Initiative for Masters Athletes (PRIMA). She is also the author of several books, including her latest, Unbreakable: A Woman's Guide to Ageing With Power, combines cutting-edge science with practical tools to help us protect our bones and our future health. In this fantastic conversation, we discuss: Why osteoporosis isn't just a disease of old age, but one that begins much earlier in life, often decades before the first fracture. The idea of the “critical decade” – why our mid-30s to mid-40s are such a pivotal window for building bone strength, especially for women approaching menopause. The key lifestyle factors that influence bone density, from nutrition and protein intake to resistance training and impact exercise, and why it's never too late to start. How scans such as DEXA and REMS can give a clearer picture of bone quality and help us take action before problems arise. The cultural and societal pressures that shape women's health behaviours, and how these can sometimes work against long-term bone resilience. Simple, practical strategies for protecting your bones at every stage of life, supporting independence, mobility and confidence as we age. Vonda also shares her vision of ageing with strength, independence and vitality, and why she believes we can all take proactive steps to remain “unbreakable”. As Vonda explains, we have more control over our bone health than we might realise - and that knowledge should feel both comforting and empowering. Caring for our bones is really about caring for our future selves. By taking simple, consistent steps today, we can build the strength and confidence to live the way we want for years to come. My guest is DJ Shipley, a former Tier 1 operator Navy SEAL and now a top public educator on how to build mental and physical health and reach top-level performance in any endeavor. DJ's life is one marked by extraordinary strivings, wins, setbacks and comebacks that together have shaped his approach to overcoming challenges of all kinds and to daily life. DJ explains a regimen of clear, practical steps and a mental stance that can allow anyone—male, female, young or old—to build extreme resilience of mind and body and to be successful in family and work. We also discuss his experience with new, emerging treatments for addiction, PTSD and depression that many people, not just veterans, are benefiting from. The tools DJ describes to “stack small wins” and to be ultra-intentional about your mindset will be of immense benefit to anyone wishing to achieve the best version of themselves.
