My guest today on Everyday Heroes survived one of the U.K.'s worst train incidents in history. It was believed that she would not make it because of the serious injuries she sustained in the disaster. Not only did she survive, with the help and dedication of her medical team and family plus her own determination, but she also became the public face to the lead the charge of survivors against the government and train commission for rail safety. However, on today's episode, “I'm Still Here...And So Is My Hair”, she's here to share about surviving breast cancer not once but twice. She discusses her grueling ordeal of having a lumpectomy, aggressive chemotherapy regimen and radiation. She lost all her hair, had lymphedema and went through chemically induced menopause as a result. She ended up writing about her experience in a memoir titled “I'm Still Here...And So Is My Hair” and became a keynote speaker and published writer then was invited to give two Ted talks. He became a founding member and the following year they qualified for the World Championships. David thought he was done but was called upon again, this time to the administrative side. He helped the Israeli team get all the way to the 2018 Winter Olympics where he had the privilege of walking in the Parade of Nations . David is now the President of the Israeli Olympic Bobsleigh Skeleton Federation.
