Bringing you the finest in discussion and dissection of Pop Culture, both old and new(mostly old) with your hosts Stratosphear and D-Dub! Remember, just because it's Pop, don't mean it ain't culture!
Welcome to our Filmation episode(That'll seem funnier in about an hour!)So, after taking a year(!) off to deal with miscellaneous family tragedies and an Apocalypse or two, we are back with our look at the glory that was the Filmation studios. Sit back and relax, pour yourself a bowl of cold cereal(with extra sugar, of course) and and enjoy the show. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Not going to make a big fuss over a new episode(even though we should!). Suffice to say, we're back again, and this episode was a lot of fun. The Stan Lee reference obviously dates it, but still some very worthwhile discussion. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Remember when movies DIDN'T have superheroes in them? Remember when movies had ordinary people like you and me? Remember when we used to put out a new episode every other week? We Remember. And we talk about it. A lot.Much thanks to Pippa for all their help in getting this podcast and this episode up and running.Editor's note: The late, great, Burt Reynolds passed away after this episode was recorded. No disrespect is meant in ANY way. RIP Bandit. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This time around we are trying something a little different from our usual geekery, we are having the first of what we hope will be several discussions about Disney Movies. As usual, we can be reached at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com , or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Next time: 70's working class cinema!!!!! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We sometimes stay on topic, but for the most part it's the tangential goodness you have come to expect from us. Quite frankly, dear listeners, you deserve no less. Check it out here. As always, feel free to contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com Next time: the FF!!!! (No, not fabulous foodies, the Fantastic Four!) Okay, campers, up and at 'em for a brand new year, and thus, a brand new episode (yes, we are going to do more than one new episode per year. I think.) Anyway, this time around we tackle the marvelous subject of Star Trek movies. Along the way we read a letter from the Tater, and get bleeped more than once. Betcha can't wait. To hear our latest episode, check this out. As usual feedback is always appreciated(and sometimes read out loud) at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com P.S. Next time around we will be giving our Doctor Who Series 9 Post-game wrap-up, as well as a discussion on some of our favorite companions, both NewWho and Classic. See Ya There! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
...Wherein Stratosphear completely loses his freakin' mind and castigates(look it up, fanboy) everybody's favorite franchise, Star Wars. Well, mostly the merchandising and marketing and...well, you get the idea. D-Dub mostly shrugs and says "okay", so as to not alienate what fans we have left. Check out the rant of the century here. If you want to rebut, refute, redoubt, reject OR recycle anything on this episode , send it to geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com PS. Big thanks to the guys at Sci-Fried, whom I used their "Star Wars Idiot" completely without their permission! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, we're finally starting to get back on track, and to prove it, we've got a dandy little episode of GEIA where we talk about that most beloved of classic rock institutions, the Power Trio. Who are some of our favourites(and NOT so favourites)? To find out, check it out here. If there's a power trio we missed, or if you have an idea for a future show contact us at geeksexplainitall@ gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Please remember to leave us a rating or a review on iTunes! Next time, an extremely special Star Wars show. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Three words: WE ARE BACK!!!! We deeply apologize for the delay, but we've finally managed to record a new episode, and a pretty darned spiffy one, if we do say so ourselves(and we do). The subject this time is a look at the Batman in other Media(similar to our Superman show). The Bat-Computer says it can be found here!!! Our topic for next time is a rarity, a music topic picked out by D-Dub: POWER TRIOS!!! From Cream to Nirvana and possibly beyond, we will be jamming!!!! Remember, contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Also PUH-LEEEZE can someone leave us some feedback on itunes? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Hello again, ye faithful, and welcome to another year of outstanding conversations about geek culture here at Geeks Explain It All. To get the new year started off in style we are proud to present a follow up to our most popular episode ever, The Dr. Who episode! When we last left our intrepid podcasters, Stratosphear had tentatively stuck his big tow in the deep pool of the Whovian universe. Now, most excellent study that he is, he now does a synchronized cannonball with D-Dub into the deep end An in-depth discussion of ALL the doctors follows. Is this the end of the discussion? Hardly!!! We ask you, the fans, to do two things: 1). Check out the episode at these coordinates. 2). Contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall. 3). Give us feedback and ratings at iTunes! Let us know what you would like us to do for future shows, and whether we should attempt an ongiong Dr. Who show! We can do it, but we won't unless we've got your support! P.S. Tune in again next time, when we will be discussing the evolution of Batman throught the years, and through the media! P.P.S. We apologize for the difficulties that were experienced with our 49th episode about Xmas music. Rest assured we are trying hard to correct this and it will be posted at some point in the future. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Hope you brought your quarters(or tokens) because we're back with our latest stroll down Memory Lane! We discuss the early days of arcade video game (along with some cool retro soundbites!) and then we move on to a discussion of Atari 2600 vs. Intellivision. To listen, just hit PLAYER ONE START. If there's a video game that was your favorite that we didn't discuss, drop us a line at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Well, next time, we find ourselves in the middle of the holiday season, along with the accompanying holiday music. D-Dub and I are going to discuss the music we love and hate(MOSTLY hate) about the season. P.S. Make sure you listen to this one with the headphones on!!!! P.P.S. Make sure to stay tuned at the end of the episode for our videogame megamix!!!! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Remember when you used to read the comics when you were a kid? Remember when you lived for seeing your favorite characters every day? Remember when we used to update this thing more regularly? Well, fear not, true believers, for we here at GEIA remember those things too, and are prepared to discuss for hours(well, one hour, anyway) our favorites and why we like them. Check it out here. It feels like we barely scratched the surface on this one, so if you have a favorite that we didn't get to contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many,MANY thanks to Joe Eiden for filling in for this episode! Don't worry, guys, D-Dub will be back next time! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
You know that thing where a character on a show is played by more than one actor? Or their character is written off the show, only to be replaced by a different character(who basically fills the same role as the old one)? Strat and D-Dub make fine sport of this topic, and there are only two bleeps in the whole episode!!! Check it out here. Our topic next time(with a special mystery guest) will be comic strips, a brief history and some of our favorites. As always we can be reached at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Y'know, we here at GEIA would like to say, for the record, that real life sucks. Why, you may ask? Well, for one thing it keeps getting in the way of us getting to record your(and coincidentally, our) favorite show. But eventually the planets align and we come with a gem of a show like this one. And what do we thrill the masses with this time around? Why none other than a discussion of a subject near and dear to D-Dub's heart since he was a kid, the great ape himself, KING KONG! Check it out here. We are attempting to get back on a regular schedule, so please be patient with us kids, We've got some really good shows that are coming up in the next few months. In the meantime ,as always, contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeeksexplainitall.com R.I.P. Robin Williams. You were inspirational and you will be missed. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Just to do something a little different , this time around our discussion is not about a specific pop culture topic, but rather about different ways that we experience said pop culture. We get into the history of both recorded music and video, and how that has affected our perceptions of things. Check it out! Many, many thanks to Joe Eiden for suggesting this weeks topic. If you have an idea for a future show, or just like to hear your name said out loud, contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com Our topic next time will be a subject that is near and dear to D-Dub's heart: The history and phenomenon of... KONG! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ever notice how people with little(or at the very least limited)talent keep getting roles in movies and making tons o' money? Well so do we, and we felt it was about time somebody did some serious ranting and raving about this subject!!! Do you agree with our choices? Or do you feel we're crazy(or uninformed)? Let us know at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Our topic for next time is somewhat clouded in secrecy, but we can tell you it will involve a bit of a history lesson, and it was suggested by our good friend, Joe Eiden! Betcha can't wait! R.I.P. Casey Kasem! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ever wondered what happened to your favorite bands? Well, this time around we discuss OUR favorites and what happened to them(eh,close enough). We discuss, Little River Band, Greg Kihn, and several others. WARNING: If you are a die-hard fan of Michael Stanley, you might want to pass this episode up. If on the other hand, you want some good dirt and hear D-Dub lose his s**t, by all means take a listen! If you have suggestions for future shows, suggestions on how we have betrayed a Cleveland favorite, or even Post-hypnotic suggestions, go to geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com and as they say, let 'er rip!!! Since this was about artists that we love(or used to anyway), we thought next time around we'd talk about who we hate. Well, hate is maybe TOO strong a word, but we will be asking "How do these people keep finding work?????" Until next time, remember, if there's an exception to every rule, is there an exception to THAT rule? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Everything you ever wanted to know about Disney theme parks! Yeh, that's what we wanted to discuss, but unfortunately the constraints of time prohibited us from talking about ABSOLUTELY everything. Still, this turned out to be a very fun episode, all about our various experiences with the parks, and also(as always) some pretty cool trivia. Check out our meeting of the Mouse here. As stated, we actually ran short on time, so there were a few stories, such as D-Dub's abandoned Waterpark adventure that we were unable to get into. To find out the whole story, or just 'cause you'd like to talk to us, contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com Our subject next time around will be a discussion of music acts( and possibly others) that we haven't heard from in a while; Whatever happened to...? Til next time, remember, you better behave;don't make us turn this podcast around. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In the interst of equal time(and shutting Strat the hell up) we devote this show to a discussion of the silver age of comics; this time around we talk about DC comics(and truth be known, we throw in a little about Marvel, just for comparison's sake). Throw in a little feedback from Joe's Corner and you've got another great episode in the books. Check it out here. The article on DC vs Marvel that is discussed can be found here. As always, when giving feedback, (good, bad or otherwise), contact us at feedback@geeksexplainitall.com or geeksexplainitall@gmail.com. Tune in again next time when our topic will be a discussion of Disney Parks. That's right, Disney parks. Deal with it. Til next time kids, remember, there are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand Binary and those who don't. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
They say that tangents are an occupational hazard when traveling through time, and boy if that's not what we did. I think we hit a new record for number of times getting off-topic, all while(strangely enough) seeming like we were staying ON topic. Just another example of a time travel paradox? You be the judge, check it out here. Disclaimer 1:Be forewarned, we both ranted and rambled(mostly Strat) but we assure it's engaging as all get out. Disclaimer 2: There are tons of spoilers for TV shows, movies and other things, so don't say we didn't warn you. As always, we can be reached at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com Our topic for next time will be the much anticipated Silver Age of DC show!!!! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
As the song says, it's been a long cold lonely winter! We are still fighting to bring you episodes of(we're assuming) your favorite podcast(s)! This time around we discuss one of our favorite actors, Bill Murray. We also manage to fit about five other topics in, and of course, plenty of fun sound clips! Check it out here. If you have comments, questions, complaints, etc., please feel free to contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Our topic next time around will be time travel(Non-Doctor who related, we will devote another show in a few weeks to the good doctor) P.S. We would like to acknowledge the passing of one of the GEIA brotherhood, Will Dearduff III. He died suddenly(actually the same morning we recorded this show) and is survived by his wife and daughter. If you would like to donate to his memorial fund(which helps towards funeral expenses), please go to http://www.youcaring.com/memorial-fundraiser/will-deardurff-memorial-fund/147938. Okay, you caught me, I know I said last time we were going to talk about about Bill Murray. What can I say, D-Dub's and my brains are so frozen, we're lucky we can remember where either one of us live, much less what we're talking about next week! Anyhoo, we are having a discussion this time around of cartoons from our favorite decade, the 80's! Turns out for the most part we prefer the music of the decade, but we still had a few interesting points to make. You can catch it here. Lots of great sound clips and theme songs in this one, so sit back and enjoy. Or stand. No pressure. If you have a comment or question about this or any other episode please contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com Next time we will be discussing the career and films of Bill Murray. Really. C'mon, we wouldn't screw with you guys two shows in a row. Or would we? Nah, just kidding! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, gang, in spite of the all the global warming that we keep having to shovel out of our driveways, we have managed to submit(for your approval) another episode of Geeks Explain It All! This time around we start off with some fan mail from our friend Joe, which leads us into a discussion of how the advent of the home video/DVD/Blu-ray era has seen the late night movie hosts fall by the wayside. An intriguing episode( even for us) it can be found here. If you would like to comment, criticize, contact us, check us out or anything else starting with the letter "c" we are at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com as well as feedback@geeksexplainitall.com Don't forget to tune in next time, when we will be have an in-depth discussion of the coolness that is Bill Murray! Til next time, Happy Valentine's Day, and remember, you always love the one you hurt. Or Something. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, gang, we are finally back, post-holiday, with another fantastic episode of GEIA. This time around we tackle the lengthy subject of Superman in media other than the actual comics! All your live action favourites and a few animated ones as well! Check it out here! If you have any comments, questions or any kind of feedback, drop us a line at feedback@geeksexplainitall.com or geeksexplainitall@gmail.com. Until next time, kids, remember, in the words of Muhammad Ali, "Superman don't need no seat belt" See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, never let it be said here at GEIA that we let technology get the better of us; the fact is, we LOVE technology, but sometimes, time, resources, and the learning curve prevent us from utilizing it to it's fullest. Case in point, our episode about our favorite underrated guitarists(#7, for those keeping track), is a great episode, but you can't hear examples of what we're talking about. Well, lo and behold, we dug deep into the GEIA vault, pulled that sucker out, slapped some technology on there, and VOILA! Our first enhanced episode!Check It Out Here! Thanks for being fans and stay tuned for future episodes! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, gang, we do apologize for the late posting, but the devil that is the internet decided to vex me at the last minute. All is well, now, though. So here is our second annual Christmas Episode! This time around we discuss what our favorite Christmas movies are. Also those that we pretty much hate. Which are which? the answer may surprise you! Check your guesses here. Go ahead, we'll wait. Okay, now that you're back, did you guess correctly? Did we forget about any? Did you completely disagree with us? Let us know either way at feedback@geeksexplainitall.com or geeksexplainitall@gmail.com Our first topic for the new year will be a discussion of Superman in other media, That is, moives, tv, anything OTHER than the actual comics. Well, brethren and sistren, after too long of a gap, we are back with a brand new episode! Our topic this time around is...Mel Brooks! That's right, the comic genius who gave us everything from a 2000-year-old man to the hottest ticket on Broadway(twice) is who we are discussing. Savor the meshugganah goodness here. If you have any feedback on this, or any episode we will read it on a future episode! Don't believe us? Then try us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Join us next time for our second annual Christmas Show, where we will be discussing some of our favorite(and not-so-favorite) Christmas movies. Okay, here it is, the first all- new episode we did NOT record at MOCC 2013. And what a doozy of a subject we have: Country Music(sorry didn't have much time for western!). We talk about the music that a lot of us grew up on(and sometimes grew out of). The sheet-kicking can be found here. If you would like to comment or just let out a "yee-haw" contact us at feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Tune in again next time when we will offer(humbly, of course) our tribute and analysis of a master of comedy, Mel Brooks. Til next time remember, If you can't run with the big dogs, stay under the porch. And yee-haw. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Okay, friends and neighbors, it's Tuesday and that means there's a new episode ready! In this case, GEIA's latest masterpiece is a subject so fantastic we needed a special guest expert to assist us(remember, an expert is anybody from out of town)! We are proud and humbled to welcome the Aviator himself, Matt Sabins, of Sabins Gadgeteering Labs. Matt joins us for the surprisingly entertaining subject "What are our favorite Apps."? And lest you think we are biased, we come to the discussion with not one, not two, but three different platforms, Windows Phone, Android and Iphone! This exercise in communications(and punchiness) can be found here. If you have an app that we overlooked contact us at feedback@geeksexplainitall.com and we will read your comments on our next show! Our subject next time will be a big'un, Country Music. And if we have time, Western as well! Til next time, kids, remember, may your favors always be odd. Or something. The above picture was snapped mere seconds before Norman Reedus talked to us. True Story! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
OK kids, sorry it's taken so long but the 2nd annual Geeks Roundtable episode is finally here. We had a few technical problems but I think you'll agree it's even better than last year. We talk about everything from Doctor Who to What movies we are ashamed to admit we haven't seen. All this and our second year of making weird discoveries about William Shatner. Our personal thanks to Matt, TJ, Becky, Shannon,Harvey, JB, and Neon for delivering the unique madness that makes this a must-listen! Our show next time will be an in depth look at what our favorite smartphone apps are, with a special guest appearance from The Aviator himself, Matt Sabins! We will have three different platforms that we will be discussing, Iphone, Windows Phone and Android, so f you have questions, queries, posers, or comments in general, contact us at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com or feedback@geeksexplainitall.com. Well, the brand-spankin new Ep. of GEIA is up, and I gotta say, it's almost getting to be too easy! We had tons of fun both preparing and recording this one. Part of it, no doubt is from knowing we actually have people listening to this podcast. We'll keep going as long as it's fun, and knowing we have actual fans makes it lotsa fun! Anywho, this episode has(as usual) a fascinating subject: who are the three most underrated guitarists of all time? Our answers will surprise and delight you, I'm sure.(They may infuriate you, on the other hand. Let us know!) We definitely had differing opinions but we made great arguments for our choices, and at the end of it all, inspired each other to check out some new stuff. You can listen to the new show here. Our show next time will be an intriguing one(as they all are): our thoughts on how to reboot the Star Trek TV franchise. As always, feedback is encouraged, welcomed, and appreciated. Our email address is geeksexplainitall@gmail.com.. Also, like us on Facebook here. While you're checking stuff out check out our sister podcast here. Until next time, behave, yeah, baby! So it's come to this:Anyone that knows ANYTHING about D-Dub and Stratosphear knows that we are Trekkers from WAY back. So why did we wait until the 8th episode to discuss it? Well, good things are worth waiitng for, and this episode is definitely a good thing. We have an in-depth discussion of the history of the franchise, along with our ideas for a possible reboot of the TV franchise(since the movie reboot did phenomenally well). What are those ideas, you may very well ask? Well, you'll just have to discover for yourself here. I am confident our thoughts will amaze and delight you(after all, they amazed and delighted us!). Our topic for next week will be Superhero Smackdown: Who would win? We will be discussing the theoretical outcomes of conflicts between Superman Vs. Hulk, Batman vs. Daredevil, and others. Do you have an imaginary battle between your favorite comic heroes? Let us know at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com and we'll mention it on the show! Be sure to check out our sister podcast at Darkwind's Secret Lair Til next time kids, remember, don't try this at home:We're Professionals! P.S.Like us on Facebook! G'Day, Campers! It's another fine episode we have for you on tap at Geeks Explain It All. This time our scintillating episode is all about : Who Would Win? In various superhero battles, that is. For those of you who love when D-Dub and I go off on things that have nothing to do with the actual subject(and let's face it, who doesn't?), you have reached the motherlode, True Believers! From Abba(yes, Abba) to Space:1999, we discuss everything you can imagine and then some. And yet, it's all perfectly relevant to the subject at hand. You can listen to this slice of internet goodness, seared to perfection here. Our topic for next episode will be the music of the 80's! Get out your big hair and skinny ties! Got some 80's stuff you want us to discuss, let us know at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com. As always, check out our sister podcast at Darkwind's Secret Lair. Finally, like us on Facebook. Well, kids, sorry for the delay, but going to Comic-con was a huge thing, and took up a lot of time, but it was SOOOO worth it. But fear not, True Believers, for I have emerged from this experience with a Very Special Episode of GEIA(no, this is not Blossom). Yes, it's the First Annual Geek Roundtable show! Our special guests include members of the Great Lake Guardians, the greatest superhero team you never heard of! It's a highly entertaining episode with 13 extra minutes for your listening pleasure. You can luxuriate in it's awesomeness here. Next time, as previously promised, the music of the 80's! Get out your skinny ties and mini-skirts, 'cause we're gonna talk about New Wave and other important musical stuff from the so-called "Decade of Greed". Got some 80's stuff you want discussed? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, kids, FINALLY a new episode of GEIA is up for your listening perusal. The topic this time around is the music of the 80's! The only thing that was less than completely awesome about this episode is that we didn't have near enough time to get into all the discussions we would have liked to. I would like to go on record as saying we will definitely have a sequel sometime in the future, because we had a blast reliving this music. You can listen to our modest brilliance here. Well after some technical problems with our web host(who we have pretty much disowned) we have found a new home with hostgator.com, and as the song says we're "Feelin' stronger every day!" And just in time, too. Because otherwise you wouldn't be able to hear our latest triumphant discourse! This time around we talk about all(well, a lot, anyway) of the movies that get people out of the hot summer sun, and into an air-conditioned movie theater. That's right, it's time for the Summer Blockbusters!!!!!!!!! Cool off with us here. As the summer continues to keep everybody hot and bothered, our thoughts turn to cooler times ahead, so our topic next time will be our first ever Fall TV preview., where we will be discussing both new and returning shows that we are looking forward to(and maybe a few we're not!) If you have a favorite show you'd like discussed, our new way to reach us is at feedback@geeksexplainitall.com or we will still be monitoring geeksexplainitall@gmail.com til the transition to the new website is complete. Remember, kids till next time, as Ferris Bueller once said, "You can never go too far." You also can't go too near, if you think about it. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Alright everybody, the new ep is here after a long-ish break for the July 4th holiday. This time around we tackle Reality Tv, it's history, and what are some of our favorite shows. This one could have easily ran over, but our professionalism prevented us from doing so. Check it out here, and let us know what you think at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com. Our topic for next time, is a doozy, perfect for beating the heat, we will be discussing our favorite(and some not-so favorite) summer blockbusters! Yes, the movies that get you out of the hot sun and into the cool air conditioning(with popcorn!) SPOILER ALERT: if you want a hint of at least one movie we'll be discussing, you could do FAR worse than to see Pacific Rim. Go ahead, you know you want to. Well just when you thought our talent and vision was endless(and really, who hasn't thought that already?), we have expanded our repertoire(translation:bag of tricks) to include guest stars! Our dear friend and renowned Dr. Who expert Becky( a.k.a. The Blue Lotus) joins us in an attempt to sway Stratosphear to jump into the deep end of the Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey. Were they successful? Find out here. Our topic for next time will be a discussion of our favorites(and least favorites) in the genre of reality TV. As always, we can be contacted at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com Also as always, check out our sister podcast at the Secret Lair Drive-in. Til next time kids, remember, wherever you go, there you TARDIS! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Greetings, surface dwellers! Do not be alarmed, for I, Aquaman, supreme ruler of the seven seas, have temporarily taken over this thing you non-regal people call a "blog" to pass on even more of my extraordinary wisdom to you listeners! Let it be known that on this OUTRAGEOUS episode of GEIA The topic of discussion is ME!(and other parts of the DC Animated Universe!) You may listen to this superlative piece of podcasting here. The geeks topic next time will not, alas, be about my magnificence. Rather, they will be discussing something called "Dr. Who". If you wish to contact the Geeks to talk about my heroics(or anything else) you can do so at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com Remember, you may never be as heroic or as outrageous as me, but you should never stop trying! Well, we're definitely trying to stretch our limits and knowledge this week! Our subject is what I like to refer to as Narrative Rock, which is a catch-all name for Rock Operas, concept albums, i.e., anything with a storyline. I know it was an educational experience for D-Dub and I learned a few things myself. Check out this slice of EPIC-ness here. Our topic we tackle next time around will be a look at some of our favorites from the DC Animated Universe. Comments? Questions? Queries? Posers? Send 'em our way at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com Til next time, kids, remember, it's Memorial Day, not BBQ day. If you can, thank a veteran for his or her service. Well, after the the truly demented heights(or lows?) of our Looney Tunes Episode we decided to scale things back a bit for this weeks discussion of The Beatles On Film! Just as the Beatles themselves attempted to get back to their roots with what eventually became Let It Be, We're giving you loyal listeners a sort of retro episode(for us anyway). That means no sound clips, no background music, just D-Dub and I having an old-fashioned discussion on The Beatles film career. Still a pretty spiffy episode, if you ask me(and if you didn't why are you reading this blog?). Any road, you can sample its' Beatle-y goodness here. Our next two topics we will tackle will be Narrative Rock, which is my weird term for Rock Operas, Concept Albums, anything that tells a story(and rocks, hopefully!), followed by a look at the DC Comics Animated Universe. Like (or don't like)what you hear and want to let us know? Drop us a line at geeksexplainitall@gmail.com Check out our sister podcast at the Secret Lair Drive-in where we are doing our review of our first year by awarding the Lair-ies for the films we loved, (as well as those, well, not so much). Be good kids, and til next time, remember, you should never drink and drive(even though to get a drink, you have to show them something that says you can drive). Alrighty, Geeks and geekettes I know I've said this in the past, but this is our best episode yet! This time around we tackle the vast catalog of Warner Brothers cartoons and come each come up with our top 5(at least off the top of our head). How we got through this episode without totally losing it laughing is amazing, but that's how professional we are! Besides, you, the fans are worth it! The laughs and the reviews can be found here. Our next couple episode include our salute to the Beatles on film for our one year anniversary show and after that a lesson in Narrative Rock(Concept Albums, Rock Operas, anything that tells a story). Check out our sister podcast at the Secret Lair Drive-In where we review the 1954 classic, Them! Til next time , kids, remember, It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man. Later, kids! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

What can we possibly do to follow up such entertainment gold? Why, talk about the live-action stuff, of course! That's right, we are accompanied by the patron saints of Saturday morning, Sid and Marty Krofft(although it turns out Filmation had a sizable chunk of the action as well). The scintillating subject we tackle this time is Gone before their time, or Brilliant But Cancelled.
