In Chapter 26 of Ultimate Intention, Nancy leads us into the climactic vision of God's masterpiece: His family, His body, and His temple—all unveiled in their ultimate reality. In Chapter 25 of Ultimate Intention, Nancy reads one of the most pivotal lessons in the entire book: Love in Right Order. Here we see that God's goal is not simply that His people love, but that their love be rectified—purified and set in right order. Drawing from the Song of Solomon, we see the progression of the bride's love moving from selfish possessiveness, to shared affection, and finally to selfless surrender: “I am my Beloved's, and His desire is toward me.” This chapter exposes how much of modern Christianity is still inverted—filled with prayers and desires centered on “me and mine.” But God's ultimate intention is to mature His sons and His bride so that their love is not self-seeking but poured out for Him. Nancy highlights how the “wine press” of frustration and crushing becomes the place where God purifies love so that it flows freely back to Him and to others. DeVern Fromke's words, though written decades ago, speak prophetically into today's climate as he contrasts theocracy, anarchy, and totalitarianism. He shows how history reveals the danger of man-centered systems that reject God's rule and the urgent call for believers to discern the true conflict behind world events—the battle for the throne of the universe. The chapter emphasizes that while Christ has already triumphed, His people must stand with Him in that victory. In Chapter 22 of Ultimate Intention, Nancy McCready unpacks the Father's vision of planting and harvest. Chapter 18 reveals that joy is not optional—it is imperative for those running to win. True joy flows from union with Christ, not from favorable circumstances, soulish exuberance, or personal success. Jesus Himself endured the cross “for the joy set before Him,” keeping His eyes on the goal rather than the pathway. From past joy in the assurance of sins forgiven, to present joy in abiding fellowship, to future joy in anticipating God's eternal purposes, joy is the mark of a mature runner in the race. The lesson is clear: joy is not something we chase—it takes hold of us when our lives are under one single control, aligned with God's ultimate intention. In Chapter 17, we see how having God's goal clearly in view changes the way we run the race. Many settle for lesser ends—salvation, a “separated life,” a ministry accomplishment—and stop there. But God's sons are called to live and run toward His supreme purpose, not just personal milestones. This chapter unpacks three vital laws for staying in the race: the power of a goal that pulls us forward, the unfolding of God's intention as we walk in obedience, and the law of spiritual perspective that keeps distant eternal purposes from being obscured by near and temporary concerns. Whether it's Abraham, Israel, Paul, or the Church, God first gives the “bud” of His intention and reveals more as we obey. Our challenge is to avoid Esau's mistake of trading an eternal birthright for a short-term satisfaction. Chapter 16 is a practical and piercing look at discerning the source of difficulties as we walk the highway of God's ultimate intention. The cross is not every trial, disease, or loss we encounter. It is a chosen way of life, embraced for Christ's sake in fulfilling the specific calling for which He has apprehended us. This chapter emphasizes careful discernment: knowing what to endure with patience, what to resist, and what to repent of. When we wholly submit to the Lord, we can trust that nothing reaches us without His permission. This chapter reveals a compelling vision of the cross—not just as a moment in time, but as a way of life operating in three dimensions: as a principle, a place, and a power. From the Father's viewpoint, the cross is more than personal forgiveness—it is how He transforms and advances His purpose through surrendered lives. We see the cross as a principle—God's eternal way of giving rather than grasping. As a place, it confronts and exposes every other manner of life. As a power, it produces transformation not only in the individual, but in those who witness a life laid down. Stephen's death, and Paul's conversion, demonstrate this chain reaction of the cross at work. This is how the early church changed the world. Not by striving, but by living the cross—revealing Jesus in life, in death, and in resurrection power. The work is finished—once for all, dealing with the old man. The way is ongoing—embraced daily by the new man as we live unto God. For many, the cross has been about personal victory, healing, or power. But this chapter shifts us into what God receives through the cross: sons who no longer live for themselves but live to reveal Christ, even in weakness and suffering. We don't die daily to sin—we've already been crucified with Christ. But we now embrace the daily way of the cross, where His life flows through our yieldedness, weakness, and fruitfulness. This is not a loss—it is divine gain. The call to daily conformity to Christ's dying becomes the gateway to resurrection power and lasting fruit. We have now reached the highway of realization—a place where we don't just receive life from God but begin living by the life of Another. Today, Ali is talking to her friend and former Infertile AF guest, Emily Patel, about The Hopeful Families Collection, Emily's new initiative to bring books into public and school libraries to celebrate the many ways families are created, including assisted reproductive technology (ART), adoption, surrogacy, and donor conception, while helping all children learn that every family is built with love and hope. Emily talks about why she created this movement, some of the books that will be included (including Ali's books, Work of ART and Beautiful Bird!) and how listeners can help support the mission. "The goal is to bring awareness," Emily says. "Even with our family, we're a bi-racial couple with donor-conceived children from two different donors, which is not a very traditional story.
