We all need a handle on our money. It makes the world go round and sadly can make or break our lives. A lot goes into that we were never taught. Not by school or our family. If we're lucky we wouldn't have gotten any bad habits or beliefs, but that's doubtful. So we need to be proactive in learning what we need.Check out the blog post hereBuy Living off The Hustle
I've always had a love for wolves. I almost did my major on wildlife management and research. Though I didn't go that route I have always wanted to keep learning about them. Which is quite funny since The International Wolf Center has always been in my state. It wasn't until after college that I was able to finally visit. We have been told very young to pick a career and work towards. With almost laser-like focus. Go to school or get whatever training you need. Just get the job and make money. But what if what you want doesn't have an easy path? Or you most do it on your own so it's a lot of trial and error? There is no 6 step plan that can be implemented in 2 years. There's no going back and I sure as hell don't want to just take a job just because it's the easy answer. So sometimes you need to take odd jobs with odd hours just to have the time and space to build what you want.Check out the blog post hereBuy Living off The Hustle
Starting a business or side hustle is so easy to do now. With so many easy options online and people to teach. But there is still a stigma for a lot of creative work to make money from it. It comes from a combination of things. People not respecting it, not thinking its worth much, or its so easy to do so why should it cost. Check out the blog post hereBuy Living off The Hustle
Lollapalooza finally came back to Chicago in 2022. And the lineup was jam-packed. I only went for 3 of the 4 days. Even though I love music and enjoyed every day I went, I knew I would not have the energy to do it all. But I was in the city for a few days before and after to just hitting museums and going on artist dates. Check out the blog post hereYoutube HereBuy Living off The HustleBuy my Poetry Book Ten
There is the joke that rich kids and kids of celebrities all go into some kind of art. But people do not look into that deeply. Seeing that if people have the space to do what they want they want to create. That people want to put something out into the world. Check out the blog post hereYoutube HereBuy Living off The Hustle
At the end of August up until Labor Day (12 days) thousands of people head to the Minnesota State Fair grounds to eat, watch shows, compete, and general entertainment. Today, often referred to as the “Great Minnesota Get-Together,” the annual Minnesota State Fair is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. We all remember growing up and people (mostly unknowingly) pushing that if you picture a nurse you see a woman, but see a man when thinking of a doctor. But luckily that sexism is changing. Because in every area there are prejudices about who is or should be something. That only rich people deserve vacations. Or only the well-educated can have well-paying jobs. Sexism, racism, and classism runs rampant. Check out the blog post hereYoutube HereBuy Living off The Hustle
Words are such a peculiar thing. All language is made up and it took thousands of years before the written language was created. And throughout the years it shifted and changed. In modern times we can see in real-time new slang popping up and when it becomes less used. But that has been happening all throughout history. Taking the road of being an artist, a creative, is never easy. There are millions of people who took a safer way and that is a perfectly valid choice to make. One of the great things about technology is that we all have cameras with us. That we can always document great moments in our lives. People forget that we use to rarely have images of us or our loved ones. Its how we see how things were in the past. Remember someone who has passed. See events that should not be forgotten. I am such an introvert. That I have no problem doing a lot of things alone. Eating at a restaurant by myself has never been a problem. I seriously have no problem being left on my own and not talking to anyone. And this bled over to my traveling. Half of all the traveling I've done has been solo and it has been some of the best trips I have taken. The first one I've taken since the pandemic was going to Las Vegas for four days. Not because I really wanted to go there but because of a concert. This is definitely my year of concerts and I'm loving it. Yeah, I did plan a trip to go to days 3 and 4 of the BTS concert. I have so much music that has defined me in my life. It can be single songs that perfectly portrayed what I was feeling at the time to a whole artist that helped me on my journey in life. It brings back memories whenever we hear it. Comforts us in our time of need. To just give us an energy boost to get something done. Over the years, life has shown us how important art is. It is a part of everything we do. The tv and movies we watch, the music we listen to, and the books we read. The things we use to relax or explore. It's what we need to add joy to our lives. And when we had to stay home, it was our connection to the world. Each of us needed that connection that art gave us.Check out the blog post hereYoutube EpisodeBuy Living off The Hustle
We all have things that we hold off on. Going to the beach until we lose weight. Booking the dream vacation until you make more money. There is a belief out there that those who are really creative are disorganized and scatterbrained. The depiction that usually comes to mind is a painter whose home is a mess that can't remember even the most basic family things. They just can't live normally because their creativity doesn't let them. That's honestly a character. Maybe in the past, some people did that, but only rich people. Most people now do not have the means to do that. And it's not even necessary to live like that to actually be creative and successful at it. When you start doing something new there is always the drive to go big with things. With all the drive and enthusiasm there's nothing wrong with that. You should be able to grow things you enjoy. Building something for yourself can be hard. And you do need to know how every part works. But at some point, the only way to level up is to get help. And that is a whole other problem in itself. Things have been changing. And this last couple of years very drastically. People are not letting work dictate everything they do in life. People are starting to realize that you can fit work into your life instead of the other way around. That you can still make a living and have the lifestyle you want. Too many of us try to go the “good” route for growing up. Going to school or getting training and getting a job that just pays the bills just enough. But too much of the American Dream has turned toxic. We are supposed to take the best years of our lives to just work and raise a family. Vacations should be short so we don't burden our job with having to find someone to cover us. We all have many things we want to do in life. But sadly it can feel like we can never get to them all. With everything else we have to do, responsibilities, and just not having the time or money for them. But you don't need to be discouraged about that. As a child, everything is new. We are constantly learning new things. Learning to walk, talk, and just being social. We stumbled and fell all the time. But as we got older, it got harder to do. People made fun of us or criticized what we did. So it got harder for us to even want to try as an adult. Which sucks because we should still be trying new things. Finally being old enough, big enough, have the actual freedom, or the money to try the things we've always wanted to do. Check out the blog post hereBuy Living off The HustleBuy Me a Coffee (or Book)

Some of us have to or even want to work from home. There's no rush hour, weird water-cooler discussions, and just more freedom to get things done. Even for those of us who love working from home, it can get lonely. Especially when you've never actually had to work from home and have a whole new set of distractions.
