Rebecca Scott is a fighter! A quick scan of her UltraSignup will definitely show that she's tough, with a podium finish in 12 of the 27 listed events, but what it won't show you are the obstacles that she has had to overcome to get here. Because the truth is that life is not always fair, and adversity is not evenly distributed, but she is a glaring example that even in the face of overwhelming odds, we all have the power to persevere. And in her case, to share extra positivity with those around her. Her goal at every ultra is to bring a smile to someone in the race, Because, in her own words, “You have no idea what someone has struggled with, and if you can bring a little light to their darkness, you are doing well.” So plug into to hear her inspiring story, why her kids had to kick her out of the car at Mile 80 of the Rocky Raccoon 100, and what type of race she swears to never do again after a recent, hard fought DFL experience. And also, a huge congrats for just taking on the Speedgoat 50K! Hard fought and well deserved! Be sure to give her a follow on IG at @rscott_ocrmomma! "How do you experience rest while doing what you love? What if we could even experience a sense of relaxed focus while hosting a party for 20?" In our latest podcast episode, we dive deep into the art of grounded leadership with Dr. Jaime Lee, a fellow CL colleague. Jaime believes that true leadership starts with connecting to our health and the innate intelligence of our bodies. She expertly guides her clients and teams through the intricate balance of work, life, health, and relationships, helping them reclaim their sovereignty, alignment, and wholeness for a more effortless flow. Jaime explores how we can cultivate rest daily, even while hosting a party or pursuing our passions. She challenges the traditional view of self-care, suggesting that instead of fixing deficiencies, we can embrace self-acceptance and see that we already have everything we need. Discover how making time your friend and putting "breathe" on your to-do list can transform your life, allowing you to be more generous with yourself and more trusting of the world in this latest podcast hosted by Rebecca Scott.
Is there really a music of the spheres? And why is space so inspirational for creativity? To ponder these cosmic questions, Dr. Charles Liu and co-host Allen Liu welcome noted composer and pianist Bruce Lazarus. As always, though, we start off with the day's joyfully cool cosmic thing, this time in honor of our guest: the fact that the movie “Oppenheimer” won the Academy Award for Best Original Score. Chuck mentions some other incredible musical scores, especially John William's soundtrack to “Star Wars.” Bruce points out that Williams also did the theme song and soundtrack to the 1960s TV series, “Lost In Space.” And of course, his soundtracks for “Jurassic Park,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Bruce has composed many musical pieces inspired by and about the cosmos, including “Musical Explorations of Messier Star Clusters and Nebulae” and “Starry Messenger.” He talks about how the early U.S. space program and the Mercury 7, and the U.S. World's Fair in 1964 inspired him. And while he got away from space-themed music for a while after his time at Juilliard in the 1970s, Bruce estimates that about two thirds of his work over the last 20 years has been astronomy themed. He talks about being inspired by other musical works, from science fiction movie soundtracks like “Arrival” to a few classical pieces like “Colors of the Celestial City” and “Visions from Beyond” by Olivier Messiaen. For our first student question, Ariella asks, “Is there really a music of the spheres?” To answer, Bruce quotes the 5th Century Roman philosopher Boethius, who wrote about how everything is vibrating, so everything has sound. We then listen to a portion of Bruce Lazarus's piece, “Boethius Said.” Allen talks about how many aspects of our existence involve vibration and sound while Chuck brings up the Cosmic Microwave Background and Gravitational Wave Background. Bruce talks about his cycle of 14 pieces for the solo piano inspired by the most commonly referenced Hubble images of the celestial objects found in the Messier Catalog (not to be confused with Messiaen), including Andromeda Galaxy (M31), Ring Nebula (M57), Eagle Nebula (M16), Sombrero Galaxy (M104), and the Pleiades (M45). Our next student question comes from Gino, who asks, “Did you ever want to be a scientist before you became a composer?” Bruce explains that he's always liked building things, so he began building music the way he'd built model airplanes, and at 14 years old decided he wanted to be a composer and also focused on the piano, for both composing and making money! The trio ends up discussing the original “Tron” – and believe it or not, it's Bruce who brings it up, not our Geek-in-Chief Chuck! Our last student question comes from Wally, who asks, “Why is space the most inspirational thing to you when writing music?” Bruce describes how space has been a large part of his life for as long as he can remember. He talks about the Veil Nebula, and why he didn't include it in his Messier cycle. He also shares his experience watching the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse, and how the reality of seeing it with his own eyes impacted him unexpectedly. If you'd like to know more about Bruce, you can visit his website at www.brucelazaruscomposer.com. We hope you enjoy this episode of The LIUniverse, and, if you do, please support us on Patreon. In this episode, I chat with Rebecca Scott - leadership coach, making work suck less with humor and compassion, one coaching conversation at a time. Rebecca's story is one of unanticipated paths and the blend of passion with pragmatism. As a young, aspiring educator, she entered college with a vision of shaping young minds as a high school English teacher. Enamored by the written word, Rebecca fully immersed herself in the study of English literature. Yet, the irresistible allure of the stage beckoned, and she found herself equally drawn to the emotive world of theater, adding it as a second major. Upon graduation, Rebecca stood at a crossroads, armed with dual degrees that she believed would open doors. However, she quickly encountered the harsh realities of the job market, where a clear-cut role that sought her specific combination of skills was far from evident. As she navigated the intricate terrain of post-college life, Rebecca's journey became a testament to adaptability and the pursuit of diverse opportunities that did not fit the conventional trajectory she had originally envisioned for herself. In sharing her experience, Rebecca hopes to illuminate the often winding road that many face after college—one that may diverge from their initial expectations—and to inspire new graduates to embrace their unique paths with optimism and resilience. Psychology is the root of all marketing. And understanding human behavior can change your business for the better. No matter what business you are in you are in the business of people. And in order to market effectively to those people, we need to understand human behavior. This way we can present ourselves online in a way that is appealing to our prospects. Create an experience that puts them at ease, and provides a great first impression of you online before they even book that first call. In this episode, My guest Rebecca Scott and I are going to cover 6 psychological theories that work in sequence, and how you can use them to position yourself as the preferred choice of your ideal client. We don't use psychology to manipulate people or take advantage. We use psychology to understand. To understand why we act the way we do, why humans expect the things they do, assume the things they do, and how you can use that knowledge to avoid any suspicion or hesitancy and make your prospective clients feel comfortable. I hope you can take some of these insights and apply them in your own business to build awareness, nature leads, and win clients online. More about Rebecca Scott: Rebecca is a copywriter focused on helping kind and passionate service-based business owners (e.g. coaches, consultants, marketing strategists, brand designers) build compelling lead magnets using psychology. Taking Time, Refining the Process, and Creating a Unicorn FarmIn this special episode of The Outspoken Podcast, Rebecca Scott of TallSmall Productions interviews podcast host Shana Cosgrove, founder and CEO of Nyla Technology Solutions. Shana describes how her goals changed over time: at first she'd hoped to climb the corporate ladder, and then she realized she could start a company of her own. Shana tells Rebecca the story of how she named her company after her mother, Nyla, creating a people-centered company rooted in the values that her mother lived by. She talks about navigating the uncertainties of the Covid-19 pandemic as a contractor in the defense sector, where remote work is common but security constraints mean “work from home” can't work for every employee. Shana explains that she started Outspoken because she wanted to hear from female experts—and she reminds us that you don't have to make every single sandwich to be a great mom. QUOTES “I'm a huge risk-taker professionally. I never was attracted to going to the big companies. I was never attracted to the long-term stability of the company. I was always very interested in the work that was going to be done.” - Shana Cosgrove [15:26]“There's an endless amount of work to be done, but not all of that is valuable. Sometimes you are gold-plating or making something better or making something bigger that doesn't need to be done [. . .] It is really understanding the limits, which will force a prioritization of what needs to be done. And that's why they say, ‘You want something done, you give it to a busy person.'” - Shana Cosgrove [34:19]“The best thing you can do is just really enjoy where you are and embrace all that's good of where you are.” - Shana Cosgrove [53:23] TIMESTAMPS [00:04] Intro[02:14] Meet Shana Cosgrove[04:18] On Understanding Business and Starting Nyla Technology Solutions[09:58] On Learning to Like the Defense Industry[13:20] Getting Ready to Launch[17:17] Just Know That You'll Figure It Out[22:35] Naming for Values, Naming for a Woman[25:13] Navigating COVID-19 in a People-Centered Company[31:50] When to Wind Down . . . and When to Double Down[36:13] Nourishing Yourself While Managing a Company[39:36] Inviting Women to Be Outspoken [43:04] Making Money is Freedom[45:46] Envisioning Nyla's Future[49:34] Raising Children While Running a Unicorn Farm[53:35] Winning Friends and Influencing People in Tech[57:16] OutroRELEVANT LINKSShana Cosgrove on LinkedInTallSmall ProductionsNyla Technology SolutionsI'd love to hear from you -- your feedback is important to me and I read all of it. My guest today is Rebecca Scott.Rebecca is a leadership coach who is passionate about helping people living with chronic conditions live full, purposeful, and joyous lives. She believes in the transformational power of meaningful conversation, celebrating all your victories, and feeling all your feelings. She also believes in kindness, including to oneself... which is much easier said than done.I first connected with Rebecca after I saw she was facilitating a workshop on Self-Compassion. This is a topic that is near and dear to me (listen to Episode 11 if you want to hear a bit how self-compassion has changed my lifeRebecca's initial reaction to the title of the website, Make Life Less Difficult, was to share with me that her tag line for coaching is Make Work Suck Less. We immediately knew we would hit it off and have a great conversation!Rebecca also shared that she has Multiple Sclerosis, a degenerative neurologic disease, and she's been blogging about her experiences for years because there's very little out there in the world about the nitty gritty challenges that are often associated with MS.Word of caution… we talk candidly about bodily functions and sex. If these things are uncomfortable to you, I ask that you take care of yourself first and foremost, even if that means not listening. There's also a splattering of adult language, so if you are listening around kids, you may want to pop in the headphones.Rebecca, I'm so delighted that we've connected and feel honored to host you on the podcast. Thank you for sharing so candidly and with such beautiful humor. You are an inspiration and I'm so grateful for your willingness to dig deep into the tough realities of life. Professors are generally represented in popular culture as white male experts who dispense knowledge to their students through lectures. Young female professors are often encouraged to portray themselves as authoritative figures, even when this role does not reflect their personalities and their educational philosophies. In this episode, Rebecca Scott joins us to discuss how she has rejected this stereotype by sharing vulnerability and building classes that rely on the co-creation of knowledge. Rebecca is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Harper College, and also a guitarist and vocalist in the band Panda Riot, which just released their fourth album. She's also the author of a chapter in Picture a Professor, edited by our friend Jessamyn Neuhaus from SUNY Plattsburgh A transcript of this episode and show notes may be found at http://teaforteaching.com.
Workplace Misbehaviour: Laurie Taylor talks to Paul Thompson, Emeritus Professor of Employment Studies at the University of Stirling, about workers behaving badly, from pilferage and absenteeism to the deployment of satirical humour and dissent on social media. In what ways has the modern workplace facilitated new kinds of recalcitrance? Also, Rebecca Scott, Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Cardiff, explores bullying and aggressive behaviour among chefs employed in fine dining restaurants. Does the isolation of the work itself, combined with the geography of elite kitchens, lead to outrageous conduct that would be condemned elsewhere? Producer: Jayne Egerton

EPISODE SUMMARY In this episode of Chan With A Plan, host Max Chan speaks with Rebecca Scott, a professional that grew up in a small town in Ontario, Canada. Not only did she pivot her career trajectory from psychology to marketing but moved to the big city of Montreal, Quebec, not knowing a single person and not even having a job lined up when she moved. She shares her career pivot and the trials and tribulations that came with it in order to grow to become the person she is today in hopes of guiding others, contemplating making the same drastic change she made herself a few years ago. QUOTES “I ended up going to Montreal, I wouldn't say on a limb. But I knew I wanted to change my life because I just wasn't happy. There was something inside of me that just wasn't at peace and so I knew I needed to make a change.” - Rebecca Scott “[When it comes to speaking French] I'm not going to be perfect. I'm going to mess up. But as long as I keep practicing and keep putting myself in these situations, then I'm going to get better and that I think is the best way to immerse yourself in any language is to be in the heart of it, and to be forced almost to speak it ” - Rebecca Scott “[When it comes to making a career change] I would say plan, but don't over plan because you don't actually know how things are going to go once you move to a new city. So yeah, I looked for interesting jobs. At the time, I think I was using Indeed and I knew that I could use the skills that I had gained from doing research and working in academia [to pivot to a different career].” - Rebecca Scott TIMESTAMPS [1:30] Meet Rebecca [6:03] Going over Rebecca's decision that Montreal was the perfect place to move to, to start a new chapter of her life and her experiences living there so far [15:27] Rebecca's journey in pivoting into Marketing [22:19] Additional creative projects Rebecca pursued outside of work [29:10] Building a social circle from scratch in a new city [34:24] Whether Rebecca would have done things differently, based on what she knows now [40:37] The level of importance of what school you got your degree from in building your career [41:52] Biggest career challenge Rebecca had to overcome, to get to where she is today [43:57] Contacting Rebecca [45:10] Outro RESOURCES & RELEVANT LINKS Rebecca Scott on LinkedIn We Just Like To Talk Podcast Chan With A Plan Chan With A Plan Facebook Group

Public Speaking, Observation, and Standing Out.In this episode of The Outspoken Podcast, host Shana Cosgrove talks to Rebecca and Keith Scott from TallSmall Productions, LLC. We get to hear all about how they started and what it's like being partners in both life and business. Communication experts, the pair provide several great tips and tricks on public speaking - omitting filler words, using anchor words, listening, having fun, and presenting yourself with open body language. Keith and Rebecca also explain how looking at the world as a stage doesn't have to cancel out the fun or genuineness of conversation. Finally, the two share many of their experiences working with clients and how observation of others can help you be a better speaker! QUOTES “We help people communicate better. We strip away all the junk. We're almost home organizers, but we do that for your brain and your presence.” - Rebecca Scott [04:23] “There's nothing better than the feeling of watching somebody think they can't do something, and then seeing that light come on in them [when they] realize they can.” “Plus, everyone can do public speaking, but the problem is… something happened between third and fifth grade that shot them down, created judgement, and they lost the ability to do it... So, it's taking people back to a time before they had judgement, before they felt shot down by society.” - Rebecca and Keith Scott [08:03] “But, the fact is, watching people's body language tells you more than anything else. Because typically their bodies change before the words vocalize. You'll notice a change in their bodies, and then you'll hear words. And then you've got to figure out, do the words and the body language, do they match? Or are they polar opposites? And that's where you figure out [if] people are being real or not.” - Keith Scott [25:29] “For you to make connections, you have to be open. When we close our body, we don't make a lot of connections. When we're open, and we're relaxed, that's where we invite people in.” - Keith Scott [28:16] TIMESTAMPS [00:04] Intro [01:53] Meet Rebecca and Keith Scott [03:34] LinkedIn [04:23] What The Scotts do at TallSmall [07:37] Public Speaking [09:17] Working with Teams [12:04] Filler Words [14:32] Speaking Speed [15:29] Letting Others Be Heard [18:14] Anchor Words [24:23] Body Language [29:45] Self-Care and Self-Talk [34:08] Narrowing Yourself or Business [36:39] Have Fun! During challenging times, we often fall into the trap of focusing on what we lack, that we don't have enough of something, like money, success, or time. But what if instead, we put ourselves in a place of gratitude, and allow ourselves to pursue those things that align to our purpose, those things that make the world a better place? In this episode, I speak to professional life coach Ryan Stanley about the importance of gratitude, and the power of stepping into who we are, our unique selves. Today’s story comes from someone I admire and believe in and have had the chance to get to know these past few months. Paul McCarthy is the founder and author of the forthcoming book on FIRED Leadership. I first heard Paul speak about his work and thought leadership on the Humans Now and Then Podcast with Rebecca Scott. While listening, I found myself stopping in my tracks as Paul posed questions that frankly, no one dared to say aloud before. At the heart of his inquiry is a purpose driven desire to understand why after almost $400 billion a year is spent on leadership development, it still isn’t working. Paul speaks his truth and shares facts that many organizations do not want to admit. Plain and simple. And in his inquiry and investigation for even more truth in this industry, Paul helps us understand what some may consider an ongoing, unsolved mystery. Why is it, that after all this investment in top talent, organizations are continuing to fire their top talent. As Paul asks each question in numerous interview this year, I find myself listening deeper and relating to his experience. Paul asks leaders, and you the listeners: Are you courageous enough to have an honest conversation about what isn’t working in your organization's approach to leadership development? Paul’s story and his work brings up a lot for me, and I know that many of us have similar and shared experiences. My hope and intention in sharing his story, my story and our stories, is that we each can individually and then collectively muster up the courage and integrity to start having different conversations and make change at the heart of the problem in leadership development today. This conversation is important. The implications are exponential. The need is pressing. The future generation of leaders depends on us to unsubscribe from a false narrative and author a new way forward that involves fresh thinking, inquisitive thinking, real and accountable conversations, expressive and challenging questions and direct and transparent conversation. As Humans, we belong in a group. Much like horses, belonging to a group (or herd) allows us to truly thrive. So, what can we learn from horses to help us better connect with those around us, and enable us to lead in more effective ways? In this episode, I speak to Beth Killough, owner of The Circle Up Experience, about how we can see our true nature through the eyes of a horse, and what we can learn from animals to help us center on our human selves. Bio: Beth Killough is the owner of The Circle Up Experience, a consulting firm which provides leadership training and culture development to corporations, universities, teacher groups, first responders, and non-profit organizations. Circle up has trained thousands of leaders all over the country and has designed long-term culture programs to transform workplace relationships. Beth has an MA degree in Clinical Psychology from Santa Clara University and an MFA degree in Creative Writing from Arizona State University. A life-long cowgirl, writer, professor, and a licensed psychotherapist, Beth has 20 years of experience working with people to awaken their innate leadership gifts so they can live and work with more authentic relationship and connection. Circle Up’s model of Natural Leadership and experiential learning with horses integrates human psychology, animal behavior, and natural systems to offer a unique approach to personal and professional development. This approach moves quickly through the rhetoric in human groups and gets to core human issues. Circle Up has been featured on the PBS television show, Start Up, and has been profiled in Forbes magazine. Beth is a seeker and a truth-teller who brings heart and humor into her work. She is gifted at finding The One Question that needs to be asked and using her cowgirl courage to ask it. Beth owns Take a Chance Ranch in Morgan Hill, California where Circle Up hosts workshops. According to a recent McKinsey & Co and LeanIn study, 1 in 4 women are considering leaving the workforce or stepping back from their career paths because of the additional demands placed on them due to the pandemic. So, how does this impact our ability to maintain or improve our financial health? In this episode, I speak to Janice Scholl, host of The Money, Career, & Motherhood Podcast, about how women can take charge of their financial future during difficult times, and the importance of coming together to discuss solutions to the pressing problems facing families today. Bio: Janice Scholl has spent her entire career talking about money and business. Through her time as a commercial banker, consultant and mentor to budding entrepreneurs, she helped clients create solid business and financial strategies to help propel their business to success. While working with aspiring female entrepreneurs, Janice noticed that the same four themes kept repeating: ● Many women are uncomfortable with finance, both in their business and in their personal life. ● Women want access to more women mentors and advisors. ● Women often start businesses because they feel the corporate world doesn’t fit their lifestyle. Few are motivated by purely financial reasons. ● Mothers didn’t want money to drive their family decisions. From these themes The Money, Career, & Motherhood Podcast was born. Now Janice spends her time helping mothers gain confidence and understanding about money, career, and business topics as they relate to motherhood and family – the way many women actually think about money. Janice loves helping mothers implement business and financial strategies within their families to help each family member thrive. When a leader is fired from an organization, what are your initial thoughts? While this could be seen as a failure by the leader, what if, in some cases, it actually represents an organization that does not tolerate new ways of thinking? In this episode, I speak to Paul McCarthy, author of the upcoming book Fired Leadership, about why we may need to reframe why top talent gets fired. Bio: Fascinated by people and why we do the things we do, Paul is a non-traditional thinker who thinks big, questions deeply, and strives to create the conditions for leaders of all levels to have honest, courageous and forward moving conversations that build strong and healthy organizations. Paul’s background in anthropology, sociology and social policy creates a natural curiosity about culture, social structure, and how this informs and shapes corporate systems. This exploration formed his desire to help people and organizations be the best they can be. Paul is a straight talker who reframes perceptions and provokes change conversations so that leaders can make a difference and deliver results. Paul is focused on defining the true intention and purpose of an organization in order to align around a preferred future. While he sees value in challenging the status-quo, he is a trusted client collaborator, and a key influencer of how leaders are shaping the future workplace. He has operated as a leader within big firms based in the UK and Canada and brings a global perspective to his work. His real-world experience, guidance and expertise informs and supports leaders and leadership teams in navigating through existing and future opportunities and challenges. Paul is involved in several game changing quests to better understand what leaders and organizations of tomorrow will need to set themselves apart. Currently, he is exploring the topic of why leaders are fired. This will be the focus of his upcoming book, speaker series and leadership development program, which will be underpinned by a counter intuitive theory that future leaders and organizations will set themselves apart by the current attributes that they are fired for in today’s organizations. Simply put, Paul’s mission over the last 25 years has been to rid the world of toxic leaders, one leader at a time. An avid traveler, Paul has explored over 30 countries, is a veteran snowboarder of Canada’s best powder, and divides his time between western and central Canada. With recent events and the resulting protests due to social injustice, the current moment has shaken many of us in a way that inspires us to shape a better future. In this episode, I speak to Diversity and Inclusion Strategist Kristina Smith about diversity, race and the importance of having the ability to be exactly who we are in our work and in the world. Kristina's Bio: Professional Background: Kristina Smith, CDP (she, her) has spent the bulk of her career in training and development. This laid the foundation to develop performance improvement strategies for corporations. She has been successful at helping organizations build stronger teams through specific team development activities, strategic planning with leaders and designing programs to develop bench strength in companies. Coaching C-Suite and mid level managers was a large part of her success ensuring businesses met their goals and objectives. Kristina has worked with corporations, government, and non-profits. Her greatest strength is her ability to communicate with all stakeholders. She facilitates conversations between frontline team members and management. These conversations make it possible to find solutions to some of the organization’s toughest challenges. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: While working to help teams improve performance, she frequently uncovered data which led to devising and implementing diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategies to exceed expected business results. She has hosted conversations about race, how to create more equitable workspaces, and how leaders in the C-Suite can mentor women and people of color to assist in their advancement, retain them and create inclusive environments. Sometimes, diversity training is not the answer to solving a workplace dilemma. Facilitating a structured conversation is what allows teams to express where an organization may be missing an opportunity to use the employees’ talents and strengths. By tapping into this unused potential organizations are often amazed at how this benefits their company. Facilitating, Coaching, and Conversations: Kristina has trained teams to lead large scale change initiatives as change agents. Teaching facilitation techniques empowered front line leaders to have a dynamic impact within their teams. She is adept at coaching C-Suite and mid level managers to bring out the best in their employees, thereby creating more desirable workplaces. As a Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ) Coach, Kristina facilitates difficult conversations about race, racial inequity, and creating equitable workspaces for all. Kristina shares tools that can help team members navigate difficult conversations with people who are different. Education: Kristina earned a B.S. in Communication Disorders at Emerson College. She attended Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and received a graduate certificate in Managing Change in Organizations. To better understand individuals, couples, and teams she received a certification from the Relationship Coaching Institute. Expanding on the concept of understanding different groups of people she participated in workshops at the Multi-Cultural Institute. This training eventually led her to become a Certified Diversity Professional (Institute for Diversity Certification). Kristina is certified to deliver the DiSC and the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team. The DiSC is a Behavioral Assessment that allows individuals to know themselves and work with others better. She is also certified in Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ). This is the neuroscience of how the brain works when people are in productive and unproductive conversations. She received continuing education credits in Executive Coaching and is currently enrolled in the Purpose Development Coaching program. Today on Moments of Clarity, I speak to Rebecca Scott.Rebecca Scott is one of the most driven, compassionate and innovative community leaders I have had the pleasure of meeting. Bec, along with her partner Kate, co-founded STREAT, a social enterprise that works to help end youth homelessness and disadvantage. STREAT offers disadvantaged youth aged 16-25 a supported pathway from the street to a sustainable livelihood. The success of STREAT is incredible. Since 2010 STREAT has trained and supported over 800 young people, and helped serve meals and coffees to over 2 million customers. This is only the beginning with the goal to help a young person every single mealtime by 2022. That's 1095 people each year. What drives somebody to make such an impact? What lessons can we learn from someone who has absolutely aligned their actions with their values? I was absolutely honoured to have Bec share her journey with me. Bec and I discuss social enterprise as a model for positive change, the systemic issues we often face in society, the importance of trust, the power of our decisions, our need for belonging, why diversity matters and what our future might look like through the lens of an optimist. We also hear about Bec’s personal journey about coming out as queer in a conservative family as well as her many other experiences and beliefs.
