Sacred Window Podcast: Nurturing Awareness in Postpartum Care
At six weeks postpartum, many mothers are told they are “cleared.”Cleared to exercise.Cleared to return to work.Cleared to resume life as it was before. But what if postpartum isn't something that ends at six weeks? In this episode, we explore what Western medicine often overlooks — and why the Ayurvedic understanding of the sacred postpartum window offers a deeper, more complete view of healing.Through the lens of Ayurveda and the Universal Mother Principles, I share:Why postpartum is a year of transformation, not a brief recoveryThe meaning of “42 days for 42 years”The difference between pathology-based care and prevention through nourishmentHow depletion in early postpartum can echo for decadesWhy the nervous system, digestion, and emotional integration matter just as much as physical healingThis conversation is not about rejecting modern medicine. It is about restoring reverence to a threshold that shapes a woman's life for years to come.If you are a mother, a birth professional, or a woman quietly feeling called to support families in deeper ways, this episode will speak to that knowing inside you.Postpartum is not simply a medical event. It is a sacred window of becoming. You are not meant to walk through it alone. Are you feeling the call to know more about Conscious Postpartum Care?Reach out! Mind Over Matters w/ Dr Aimee - Misdiagnose: When the Label is Wrong and the Whole Person Is Missing 02.15.26 by WCPT 820 Weekend
Most of us have been trained to think of treating people as a technical problem. If something hurts, we look for the right drug. If something fails, we look for the right procedure. That picture is incomplete. We've built a system obsessed with fixing bodies, while quietly ignoring the inner worlds of the people living inside them. Their fears, their beliefs, their unanswered prayers, and the meaning they're trying to make of suffering.Illness doesn't just attack organs. It raises questions about God, identity, guilt, fear, and loss of control. And when those questions go unanswered, suffering multiplies, no matter how advanced the treatment plan is.Modern medicine has no real language for this kind of pain. It knows how to measure blood pressure, inflammation, and tumor size, but it doesn't know how to sit with grief, spiritual doubt, uncertainty, and loss.Yet when clinicians slow down enough to listen, something shifts. Patients begin to speak about meaning, about God, about unresolved relationships and fears they've never voiced before. And often, that is where real healing starts — the kind of whole-person healing that restores connection, dignity, and a sense of being spiritually held in the middle of suffering. What if some of the deepest healing doesn't come from doing more, but from being more present? How can clinicians learn to care for the soul as intentionally as they care for the body?In this episode, I speak with Dr. Marvin Delgado Guay, a palliative care specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. We talk about what it looks like when medicine includes spiritual care in its everyday practice. We explore why “total pain” includes the soul as much as the body, and how healthcare can become not just a place of treatment, but a space for healing, meaning, and connection with God.Things You'll Learn In This Episode Pain isn't always physicalMany symptoms labeled as “medical” are actually expressions of emotional or spiritual distress. What happens when we treat suffering instead of just symptoms?Fixing vs. healingMedicine is trained to solve problems, but some forms of suffering can't be solved, only witnessed. How does presence become a form of treatment? How spirituality shapes medical decisionsBeliefs about meaning, God, and purpose influence everything from treatment choices to end-of-life care, but are clinicians equipped to address this? The power of the “collective soul” in healthcareWhen doctors, nurses, chaplains, and therapists work as one, care becomes something deeper than specialization. What changes when healing becomes a shared human act?Guest BioDr. Marvin Delgado Guay is an internist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Palliative Care and Rehabilitation Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he provides symptom control and supportive care for patients with advanced cancer and their caregivers. He completed his internal medicine training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a clinical and research fellowship in Symptom Control and Palliative Care at MD Anderson. Earlier in his career, he coordinated palliative care services and worked within geriatrics at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital through the University of Texas Medical School. Dr. Delgado Guay's work focuses on what medicine often overlooks: the full experience of illness. His research explores physical, psychological, and spiritual distress in patients with serious disease, as well as aging-related issues such as frailty and cognition. He has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on symptom burden and spiritual care in advanced cancer, and is deeply committed to improving quality of...

In this episode of the Innovations and Clinical Implementation podcast recorded at LongevityFest 2025, host Dr. Lexi Gonzales discusses the future of scalable healthcare with Dr. Jeff Gladd—the Chief Medical Officer at Fullscript and a practicing integrative physician—and Ben Walters, the Head of Journeys at Fullscript. The conversation centers on Fullscript's evolution into a "Whole Person Care" engine designed to alleviate administrative burden by launching **Journeys**, a new platform that aggregates fragmented patient contexts like intake forms, historical labs, and wearables into "four clean walls" to facilitate true personalization. The guests explain how embedding AI directly into the clinical workflow allows practitioners to reduce the time spent on lab interpretation and plan creation from 45 minutes to under seven minutes, effectively allowing them to "5x" their patient capacity while utilizing tools like the PROM 10 framework to objectively validate clinical outcomes. Send us a textEpisode 236 welcomes listeners into a rich, integrative dialogue with host Andrea Atherton and Chinese medicine practitioner Keith Coley, as they explore the Eastern whole-person view of healing in contrast to the Western fixation on control and symptom management. Together, they examine how the urge to “make things happen” often bypasses the deeper intelligence of the body, leading to temporary relief rather than lasting transformation. This conversation invites a return to balance—one that honors timing, receptivity, and the body's innate capacity to restore itself when truly listened to.Andrea and Keith expand the discussion into the often-overlooked realm of yin energy, emotional stuckness, and somatic awareness. They explore how removing physical or emotional pain without addressing its source allows the pattern to re-emerge, often louder and more disruptive than before. Through the lens of Chinese medicine and somatic understanding, emotional stagnation is reframed as stored energy seeking movement and expression. Listeners are guided to consider how pain, tension, and recurring emotional patterns act as messages, pathways into deeper self-awareness rather than problems to be eliminated. The episode concludes with a powerful exploration of sensitivity and strength. Rather than hardening or numbing in response to overwhelm, Keith and Andrea discuss how to remain open and sensitive while cultivating protective energetic power. This includes learning to work with body energy, recognizing somatic signals, and developing boundaries that are embodied rather than defensive. The result is a grounded, resilient presence, one that allows compassion, intuition, and vitality to coexist with discernment and self-protection.Keith ColeyFull details for registration https://www.keithcoley.com/chinese-medicine30-minute Consultation with Andrea https://www.andreaatherton.com/booking-calendarAndrea Atherton Websitehttps://www.andreaatherton.com/Love Anarchy Websitehttps://www.andreaatherton.com/podcasthttps://loveanarchypodcast.buzzsprout.comLove Anarchy Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/loveanarchypodcast/Andrea Atherton Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/andreaatherton-17/

In this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with Dr. Alexes Hazen—board-certified plastic surgeon, microsurgery specialist, and founder of Zen Essentials—for a thoughtful conversation on skin health, ethical aesthetics, and why real results can never be separated from whole-body well-being. With a background that spans public health, global medicine, and some of the most technically demanding surgical training, Dr. Hazen brings a rare depth to how she thinks about beauty, healing, and care. Her path to medicine was anything but linear. From working with the New York City Department of Health during the AIDS crisis to serving in the Peace Corps in Honduras, Dr. Hazen learned early that medicine isn't just technical—it's human. Those experiences shaped a philosophy she carries into every aspect of her work today: outcomes are influenced as much by mental health, sleep, nutrition, and support systems as they are by surgical skill.Throughout the conversation, Dr. Hazen challenges the surface-level thinking that dominates skincare culture. Skin, she reminds us, is an organ—and it reflects what's happening internally. No product can compensate for chronic stress, dehydration, or exhaustion. When those fundamentals are addressed, skincare finally has the space to work as it should. She also speaks candidly about ethics in aesthetic medicine—why board certification matters, why saying “no” is sometimes the most responsible choice, and how listening to patients should always come before selling solutions. That same restraint and intention led to the creation of Zen Essentials, born from Dr. Hazen's own struggles with severe skin sensitivities. Designed to be effective yet calming, the line reflects her belief that skincare should support the body—not fight it.Listen to the full episode to hear Dr. Alexes Hazen unpack holistic healing, ethical aesthetics, and why real skin health starts with caring for the whole person.SHOP Zen Essentials and learn more on social media!CHAPTERS:(0:02) - Introduction & Guest Welcome(0:46) - A Nonlinear Path Into Medicine(1:26) - Public Health, AIDS Education & the Peace Corps(2:46) - Falling in Love With Surgery & Plastic Surgery Training(3:01) - Early Burn Injury, Scars & Coming Full Circle(4:12) - Why Holistic Care Matters in Surgical Outcomes(8:40) - Skin as a Reflection of Whole-Body Health(11:22) - Ethics, Training & Responsibility in Aesthetic Surgery(26:21) - The Origins of Zen Essentials & Sensitive Skin SciencePlease fill out this survey to give us feedback on the show!Don't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!*This is a paid collaboration Hosted on Acast. The obvious candidates for government assets include: Tim Pool, Shawn Ryan, Nick Fuentes and Alex Jones. Second Two: Patrick's commentary on his attending, Healing the Whole Person with Dr Bob Schuchtz and his team—especially Sister Miriam James Heidland. Through Scripture, the Fathers, and stories from parish life, Deacon Anthony shows how God meets us in the tangible—mud on eyes, bread and wine, water and oil—to heal the heart and remake our lives. In this episode you'll hear:Body & Soul together: why the Incarnation means Christianity is never “purely spiritual” or “only physical.”The phronema (mindset) of the Church: how a Christian way of seeing reshapes what we notice, how we judge, and whom we love.Using God-given tools rightly: judge ourselves, not our neighbor; fear sin, not repentance; hate the illness, not the person.Confession as healing: real accountability, a spiritual father, and why naming sin breaks its power.Community over isolation: salvation is ecclesial and relational—you can't be saved on an island.Heaven & hell begin now: entitlement and isolation taste like hell; humility and communion taste like heaven.Saints as role models: why children (and adults) need holy examples more than celebrities.Eucharist & the senses: why worship that engages sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch anchors faith in reality. If “symbolic religion” has felt thin—or if modern “live-your-truth” scripts leave you empty—this conversation offers a hopeful, time-tested alternative: sacrament, repentance, and daily love that form the whole person in Christ.Find an Orthodox Church near you today. Patrick McEnroe hosts an insightful conversation with world-renowned performance psychologist Dr. Jim Loehr on mental toughness and the whole person behind elite performance.Dr. Loehr, who started his career as a licensed psychologist before working with top athletes , discusses his transformative time at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, where he began focusing on the whole person—including physical, emotional, mental, and character health. He argues that improving a person's health in all dimensions, particularly character health, is the single most important dynamic in making them mentally tougher.Dr. Loehr emphasizes that the purpose of sport should be to use tennis to help athletes become extraordinary human beings. He advocates for focusing on the energy an athlete brings to their time rather than just time management and highlights the importance of resilience, with tennis as the ultimate sport for teaching resiliency to bounce back. The TennisWorthy Podcast is presented by the International Tennis Hall of Fame. God cares about every part of who we are - body, soul and spirit. In this message, Psalm Annika dives into the kind of healing that reaches beneath the surface: healing the inner self, the heart, and the places we often hide. Through the story of the Samaritan woman, we see how Jesus restores identity and invites us to live as fully loved children of God. When we feel marginalised, discouraged, or worn down, His healing touch reminds us that wholeness comes through surrender - when every part of our life is open to Him.

On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty talks with Dr. Thomas E. Becker—organizational psychologist and author of Beyond the Diversity Wars—about practical ways to navigate today's polarization without watering down your values. We unpack whole-person appreciation, a détente mindset for difficult conversations, the identity continuum (from human needs to personal quirks), and clear tactics to reduce conflict across teams, families, and social feeds. If you lead people, work in cross-functional environments, or are exhausted by online extremes, this episode offers direct, actionable tools to protect mental health, improve culture, and move conversations forward. About the guest : Dr. Thomas E. Becker is an organizational psychologist and leadership expert with 35+ years of experience helping leaders cut through complexity. His latest book, Beyond the Diversity Wars, reframes divisive debates with human-centered solutions that emphasize understanding, coexistence, and collaboration. Key takeaways: Polarization has roots in identity and survival needs. Recognize “us vs. them” as an old pattern that no longer serves modern collaboration. Adopt a détente mindset. Your goal isn't to convert or be converted—coexist, understand, and cooperate where possible. Practice whole-person appreciation. See people on an identity continuum: shared human needs (safety, belonging, growth) and unique quirks (hobbies, interests) that can create bridges. Separate empathy from enabling. Ask why someone holds a view; listening isn't agreeing. You can challenge ideas without attacking the person. Set limits with chronic conflict. Don't drain yourself arguing with immovable positions. Choose engagement or disengagement intentionally. Create low-stakes connections. Shared interests (e.g., music) can open space for constructive dialogue on tougher topics. Use daily reps. Once a day, talk with someone who disagrees with you—aim for understanding, not winning. Repair rifts deliberately. Apply détente + whole-person appreciation to re-engage estranged family or colleagues when it's safe and appropriate.
