Hey, guys! We're back with another episode where we catch up with each other about what's been happening in our lives as well as what's been happening in pop culture. We open up the episode with a brief discussion about the expectations and realities of our summer plans. We also touch on hot topics such as the oceangate submarine, the increase in ai technology, monet mcmichael's recent rise to internet fame, upcoming movies/shows, and more. Who better to share their opinion on love than three girls lacking any and all experience in that department? In this week's episode, we share our take on the modern dating scene (hookup culture, situationships, talking stages, etc.) and how it contrasts with the more traditional method of dating to marry. Additionally, we take a mini trip down memory lane and reminisce on all the different types of couples we witnessed start and end in the halls of elementary, middle, and high school. We discuss personal expectations, potential beaus, p*rnhub cheating, and SO much more. While this episode is a tad bit more mature than most of our other ones, we think you'll learn a lot more about what we expect out of a romantic relationship (*cough* *cough* we're talking to you, future hubbies…) Enjoy!! Hey guyss!! We made it to the end of what feels like the longest year yet and what better way to celebrate than with a new episode of Inner Circle ;) This is the third and final part of our college diaries series where the three of us talk about the harsh reality of being a college student. We detail the struggles of learning how to be truly independent and how some days can be more lonely than others. From difficulty making new friends to getting fomo from the overwhelming atmosphere of campus life plus a whole lot more. Later in the episode, we also touch on what it's like to be a minority attending a PWI and wrap up with our goals for next semester and the new year. Enjoy!! A message for rising first-years: As pessimistic as we may sound throughout this episode (lol), we really want our incoming freshman listeners to have as much information as possible before embarking on this new journey. We would have loved this kind of advice and perspective before starting college and our hope is that you can carry it with you as you make this new transition. Everyone's experience is different and, of course, it's not all bad. College is what you make of it. The people you hang out with and the parties you go to one year doesn't define the other three. Take the good with the bad and persevere because when you look back on these moments of your life, you will be proud of how far you've come and all that you have accomplished. We believe in you! :) If you liked this episode, tell us! Okay, so yes, it's been almost 3 months (and what about it?) but we're here again lol and now that we've all finally settled into our first semester of college, we took some time to sit down and talk about how we've been holding up. In a nutshell, this life is not for the weak. Follow along as we discuss our struggle in finding the balance between maintaining our sanity and being a functioning young adult with what seems like a million and one responsibilities. Boys, school traditions, food, what it's like living on campus, and so much more. Stay tuned as we end our college diaries series with its third and final part all about the not-so-pretty and less-talked-about reality of navigating college life. WARNING: this episode gets progressively more chaotic as the night unfolds. (Stick around to hear about Jeanelle getting lotion in her laptop.) You're in for a real treat :D ... Enjoy!! Living in a capitalist society that focuses on profit and personal gain tends to foster a hustle culture that can be toxic and overwhelming at times. Whether you hustle or not, there's no denying that it can consume a person's life and have a significant impact on one's future. In this week's episode, Jeanelle and Ashley sit down with three of their coworkers to understand their perspectives on just that. Chris shares personal anecdotes of how hustle culture has resulted in both positive and negative outcomes as well as the underlying reasons for his strong work ethic. Additionally, he shares his experiences with overworking himself and how his religious beliefs translate into his everyday life as he works to build a reputable family name and become the president of the United States. Luis describes what his life was like growing up in the Dominican Republic around strong hard-working women in addition to his dream of being a professional athlete in the near future. He also opens up about having multiple siblings and how his independence drives him to work harder in his athleticism and staying physically active. Jayden expresses how hustling keeps him busy and on his toes as he works toward becoming more self-sufficient. Also, his philosophy to "pray about it and keep it pushing" and trusting in God's will as he seeks to create a life for his future children that is better than what he had growing up. Plus, toxic productivity, burning the candle at both ends, eastern vs western work cultures, why we hustle, and more. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the boys on a deeper level and we hope you love this episode as much as we do... Enjoy!! Ahh yes, sleep. The one thing we all want and need but can never seem to get enough of. I think we can all agree that there is nothing more triggering than the sound of your alarm clock... but hey, there's also nothing quite like that euphoric feeling of waking up a tad bit too early and getting to go back to sleep for 10 more minutes. The real question we try to answer in this week's episode is what really happens when we fall asleep. *billie eilish was really on to something when she released that album* We take a deep dive into our unconscious minds and analyze our most memorable and mysterious dreams. Lucid dreaming, shifting realities, astral projection, deeper meanings, and more. Enjoy!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Most of you guys have probably heard about the whole "hot ugly vs. ugly hot" debate when it comes to someone's attractiveness but for those of you who haven't, we're certain that you'll know what we're talking about when we explain it in this week's episode. Let's admit it... being conventionally attractive isn't always what's most appealing. I'm sure we have all liked someone who, in theory, seems like the most beautiful person on planet earth but in reality, it's their great sense of humor or charming demeanor that compensates for their mediocre looks (according to society's beauty standards, of course). We also mention a bunch of celebrity examples including our favorite lanky white boys, Timothée Chalamet, Pete Davidson, and more. Enjoy! Would you rather have the ability to go back in time or look into the future? ... It's a question we're sure everyone has been asked before, but why? A lot of us like to think that tomorrow is promised to us. We plan our futures and map out our goals in journals and dream boards but fail to realize that the future isn't actually real. It's merely a concept, yet it seems to be responsible for a large amount of the pressure we continue to put on ourselves in the present. Sometimes we wish we had a remote control for life but not having one is what makes the present that much more magnificent. In this week's episode, we talk all about living in the moment and letting things go. We should all try to take a page out of Jeanelle's book as she is basically the epitome of going with the flow. Also, a quick history lesson from Dalya on the meaning behind the ubiquitous evil eye. Enjoy!! Sooo we're super late to the back-to-school party :D ... but we still wanted to give you guys an episode on what school has been like for us now that quarantine is basically over. While we do get a bit sidetracked in this week's episode talking about Ashley's bug phobia, we mainly discuss how the people around us have changed or even stayed the same since we last saw them. For the most part, girls have become more confident in their fashion choices and boys have evidently been working on their physical appearance. There are, however, a few boys that continue to be... well, boys. We also go over the basics like our least favorite and most favorite classes as well as feeling like a freshman all over again with two new classes of students invading our home territory. From getting dress coded to feeling drained, we cover it all. Plus, a couple of quick tips/advice on how to keep track of your work this school year and remember that this too shall pass. School is finally back in session for most of us and for the class of 2022, that means it's about that time of year (college applicationsss :D) ... In this week's episode, we talk about how we've been feeling pretty drained recently. We reminisce about the days when we were involved in all the extracurriculars and had the motivation to wake up every morning and go to school without getting tired halfway through our first class. Nowadays, our stamina has decreased and hobbies we used to find fun are now bothersome or boring. Everything feels like a chore and it has even become too emotionally taxing to be in social settings for more than an hour. Plus, our current status in the college application process and how it is squeezing every last ounce of energy we have left out of us. This is a topic we hate, but we told it to cope with the pain... we're so sorry if you can relate :/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Remember when pleated skirts were a thing and everyone would pair them with those thick sweater vests even though it was like 80 degrees outside??? Yea, we remember it like it was yesterday... except it wasn't yesterday. It was almost a year ago. Time is flying and that means that trends are going in and out of style faster than you can say "thank you, next". The bottom line is we don't like how fast trends are... well, trending. In this week's episode, we recall some of the most popular fashion trends that we have been seeing lately as well as society's pattern of recycling fashion from previous decades. Scrunchies from the '80s, whale tails from the early 2000s, and even corsets from the 16th century. Plus, how social media influencers are dictating which trends people should invest in and subliminally shaming our sense of style. We also briefly discuss the serious consequences of herd behavior on social media. Enjoy!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
!!!!! WARNING: MAJOR TWILIGHT SPOILERS !!!!! As I'm sure we all know by now, the twilight saga is officially on Netflix (let's hope they don't take these off like they do with everything else...). Whether you were there from the start or a recent fan with a newfound respect for the franchise, you have come to the right place. In this week's episode, we discuss all the iconic moments in the movies that have ultimately shaped pop culture/social media trends today. How twilight walked so the vampire diaries could run, jacob's irrelevance in the plot, the questionable foster family dating dynamic of the cullens, and that off-putting CGI baby that we call Renesmee. We also mention all the iconic scenes like the baseball game with alice's renowned high kick pitch as "supermassive black hole" plays in the background, the heart-wrenching fake fight in the last movie, and bella swan's confrontation with jacob as she exposes him for imprinting on her daughter. Barring the inconsistencies in the storyline like how bella even got pregnant in the first place and how she became "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with edward after like a week of knowing him, we have grown to love twilight in all of its chaos. And of course, we answer the million-dollar question: team edward or team jacob?? ... enjoy!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Having a short attention span can be rough. A lot of us are probably so impatient that we can't even be bothered to sit through a minute-long video so instead, we just keep scrolling to find something else that satisfies us. In this new age of technology, it can be quite scary to think about social media and how we are constantly overdosing on information that is presented to us right at our fingertips. It has become more evident that social media has been catering to our ever-growing impatience with an increase of short-form content such as tiktok, youtube shorts, and instagram reels. Even our dreams and goals are always instant since we can immediately imagine the end goal in our heads, but when it comes to reality, that desired result can be a bit more delayed as we can't physically skip all the steps to get there. In this week's episode, we discuss the negative effects that instant gratification has on our society as well as explore the idea of delayed gratification and how our reluctance to take this route could stem from impatience and even commitment issues. Enjoy!! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
I'm sure it doesn't come as a shock to anyone that people are continuing to put celebrities and public figures on a pedestal. But why? When we do this, we are making it more and more impossible for them to show any flaws or make any mistakes so that when they finally do (because everyone does... duh) we attack them relentlessly for it. If they don't say something cookie-cutter, then it's immediately controversial. The pressure we put on our idols has gotten way out of control and in this week's episode, we bring this topic to light. We live our lives anonymously commenting on celebrities and what they choose to share but, at the same time, seem to forget that they are human beings just like the rest of us. To put it simply, celebrities and public figures are still real people with real feelings and we need to recognize that. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
We absolutely love music (so much that we can't go a day without it) and in this week's episode, we talk all about it. Being an artist's OG fan, our dream of attending an Ariana Grande concert, making up our own lyrics to songs we don't fully understand *cough* *cough* SZA *cough*, and super smart lyricism in songs like Cupid's Chokehold / Breakfast In America by Gym Class Heroes and Cardigan by Taylor Swift. We also explore different songwriting concepts such as story-telling and breaking the fourth wall as well as our current song obsessions and artist discoveries like John Mayer, Kacey Musgraves, and Hamilton. Finally, we briefly discuss lyrics that are a bit of a headscratcher and that we choose not to utter, for example, "cooking in the kitchen" and "cater 2 u"... um chile anyways... --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Raise your hand if you own anything from Shein, Fashion Nova, Princess Polly, H&M, Forever 21, Zara.... yea, so basically everyone?? Well, we do too, and in this week's episode, we discuss the negative effects that these companies and so many others have on society. From bigger brands stealing from small POC designers and child labor in third world countries, all the way to the trend of thrifting and wasting makeup products. We all went through that phase of wanting to be older than we were just so we could have the freedom to do whatever we wanted like eat ice cream for breakfast or not have to do our chores, but over time we realized that growing up/being an adult is totally overrated. Looking back on our past, we three are actually thankful for that awkward transition stage between middle school and high school, but apparently, that's not even a thing anymore. So here's what we want to know: Where did all the tweens go? Why is Justice disappearing? And why do 13-year-olds look like they're 19? The tween phase is slowly disappearing as more kids are being influenced by what they see on social media. In this episode, we address the current fading of childhood, peaking in elementary school, empowerment vs. sexualizing, and relationships at a young age. Plus, the struggles of being older and the responsibility that comes with it. Even Dr. Meredith Grey once said, "Responsibility. It really does suck. Unfortunately, once you get past the age of braces and training bras, responsibility doesn't go away. It can't be avoided. Either someone makes us face it or we suffer the consequences." --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

In this age of technology, being discovered is becoming a more common way of rising to stardom. In this week's episode, we share our thoughts on having talent at such a young age with Oliva Rodrigo's debut album, SOUR, and how it's actually pretty sweet, the cliche story of being a theatrical child to then becoming a famous singer-songwriter/actress, and parents being a barrier to their child's success.
