We sit down with Ron of Buya Toys to trace a wild pivot from gaming industry 3D artist to full-time music-inspired toy maker in Thailand. Growing up in the Middle East, art became survival, identity, and escape. After losing his job, Ron found clarity through music, The Artist's Way, and sculpting musicians like Doechii, Tyler, JID, and SZA into bold, stylized figures. We unpack launching Buya just seven months ago, shutting down a Kickstarter mid-run, pivoting to preorders, and selling out. Tell 'em Kendrick did it... We're back to talk about Compton's own Kendrick Lamar and his 2025 record GNX! After we explored Damn back on episode 72, James felt like this Pulitzer Prize winner deserved a better score from Connor. We're back (reincarnated) in the Year Of Redemption to break down his shortest record yet (but one of his most expansive). After decimating Drake in a years-long feud with the astounding Not Like Us, GNX is Kendrick's attempt to move his career forward with songs of the confrontational, the introspective, and the catchy. He wrote more than 80 songs for the project, but only a dozen made the cut. Will it be the perfect combo to redeem his score?James & Connor will debrief on our last Kendrick episode and get to the bottom of why we're back again. We relive the backwards concept album and catch up on our Kendrick listening habits. The Mixtaper is ready to Squabble Up with a new round of Fact Or Spin, featuring comfy socks, vault tracks, and a baffling reskin of a classic crunchy conundrum. From the vintage car on the cover to the final twist of Gloria, we'll touch every corner of this Album Of The Year nominee. Ain't no legends if his legends end, so find out why we think K Dot does (or doesn't) deserve the Greatest Of All Time!Is this album a step up or a step back after Damn and Mr. Morale? Is SZA a dominant force for Favorite Feature or can one of the 9 other voices on this record compete? Imagine a 6'2 lefty sniper who can shoot you out of a zone, drop 38 in a revenge game, and still tell you she doesn't need Hollywood — she just needs her people. That's Bella Ragone.Georgia High School Player of the Year. Top 25 in the Class of 2026. Five-star recruit. Notre Dame women's basketball signee. And in this episode of SportsLifeTalk – You Got Next (Savage Season), Bella opens up about her journey from NFL sidelines to Georgia hardwood greatness — and why loyalty and faith shaped her rise.Bella's life wasn't built in one zip code. With her dad coaching in the NFL, moving was normal. She's lived in Louisville, Tennessee, Virginia/D.C., Chicago, Georgia, and even around Los Angeles. But when her dad joined the Rams and relocated to L.A., Bella made a defining decision — she stayed in Georgia. Not for spotlight. For stability. As she said, “I just need my people.” That mindset reveals everything about her foundation. Her basketball story didn't start with hype. She played multiple sports growing up. But in middle school, it clicked. She realized she was good. She loved the grind. She wasn't burning out. That's when the game became serious.Bella calls herself a “three-way player.” Translation: true three-level scorer. She takes pride in her jump shot — deep range, quick release, and a deadly one-dribble pull-up. As a lefty, she naturally creates angles defenders struggle with. Over the past two years, she's extended her range and sharpened her off-the-bounce scoring. When teams tried zone? She smiled and said, “That wasn't a good idea.”Her defining moment came in the region tournament. Third matchup against a team that had already beaten them twice. Home floor. Pressure packed. Bella decided, “This has to be my game.” Final stat line — 38 points while her team scored 50 total. She carried them into the region championship and delivered one of the coldest performances of the season. That wasn't stat padding. That was ownership. Her commitment to Notre Dame women's basketball wasn't based on rankings. It was about fit, faith, academics, and relationships. A Catholic university aligned with her values. A culture built on family. Coaches who invested in her as a person. She's joining a special freshman class — and she knows it.The basketball DNA runs deep. Her mom played Division I at Louisville after moving from Estonia at 15 and learning a new language. Bella wears #5 in honor of her mom's jersey number. Her dad, also a lefty, trained her and sharpened her competitive edge. Add in a Division I quarterback brother, and you get a household built on competition and discipline. When NIL opportunities came up, Bella didn't overthink it. She said Lululemon. Authentic. Clean. Real. That kind of clarity matters in today's NIL era.Off the court, she keeps it grounded — spending time with friends, supporting other sports, traveling, and protecting her energy. Her favorite local food spot? Buffalo's. Order: Kickin' Chicken Wrap. Simple comfort.During SLT Initiation, her Top 5 artists included Drake, SZA, Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, and Kendrick Lamar. Favorite superhero? Black Widow — independent and powerful. Theme song? “Over” by Drake. The biggest lesson basketball taught her? Resilience — pushing through fatigue and pressure when it would be easier to fold.Right now, Bella's focus is healing, staying healthy, and preparing for her freshman season at Notre Dame. Long-term goals? Win a national championship. Earn individual accolades. Bring a title back to South Bend. Her words were clear: “We deserve it.”Bella Ragone didn't choose the spotlight. She chose stability. She didn't chase hype. She built foundation. She's not just next. She's built.

This month's edition of UP! has a front end full of funky, house pop tracks and transitions into a back end full of driving dance floor stompers. Kicking off the set is the awesome Nick Jay & Jean Luc remix of Katie Underwood's "Danger". The amazing Division 4 features three remixes here for Sabrina Carpenter, Sombr and SZA respectively. He has his own website (Division 4 Music : Div-4.com) where you can download quite a few of his mixes at really good prices. I highly recommend you check it out and also give him some support. Speaking of support, the incredibly generous Russ Rich and Andy Allder gave me an advance copy of their remix of Raye's "Where Is My Husband" and it is flat out amazing. The baseline, percussion and integration of the lyrics is masterful and I cannot thank them enough for this lovely sneak peak. Dario Xavier also features two mixes for Nick Jonas and also Taylor Swift. Sagi Kariv delivers a thumping mix of Charlie XCX's "Hello Goodbye" and the always on point Dirty Disco delivers a classic remix for Tata Vega and a punchy remix for Katseye. Closing out the set is the new track from Agnes given the big room treatment from Henriq Moraes. The Sydney Mardi Gras festival fires up in mid February and runs through to the first weekend of March which means Mardi Gras anthems will be out very soon. I would also like to dedicate this month's edition of UP! to my good friend Mark who just celebrated an 'event' birthday. This episode of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast kicks off with a look at Coco Jones preparing to perform the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” at Super Bowl LX. Jones shared that she’s been leaning on a vocal trick once used by Whitney Houston—eating Lay’s potato chips to keep her voice “oiled” before major performances—as she gears up for one of the biggest stages in sports. Reports also confirm Coco’s performance continues the NFL’s now‑annual inclusion of the Black National Anthem before kickoff, with Jones joining a lineup that includes Charlie Puth and Brandi Carlile during pre‑game ceremonies. Meanwhile, the show addresses online buzz about SZA and country‑hip‑hop artist Shaboozey, with multiple sources confirming that despite months of speculation, the two have never been romantically involved and maintain only a platonic friendship. Later, listeners get a lively segment featuring super‑producer Teddy Riley, whose new memoir Remember the Times chronicles his rise from Harlem to shaping the sound of modern R&B and hip‑hop through the creation of New Jack Swing and collaborations with icons like Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and Jay‑Z. As conversation turns political, the team reacts to Donald Trump’s recent repost of an AI‑generated video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, which sparked bipartisan condemnation before the White House deleted it, claiming a staffer posted it in error. The episode blends entertainment, culture, and headline news, giving listeners a sharp, humorous, and insightful take on everything happening right now. Olivia Dean / CBS Photo Hi everyone, I just watched The Grammy Award 2026. It was again inspiring in many ways. I just felt one love, respect, integrity and high energy from all the amazing artists. This February, as we celebrate love, let’s remember that love is also in the stories we tell, the identities we honor, and the gratitude we share. The 2026 Grammy speeches showed us exactly that. Hope you gain power from today’s episode!

Ricki & Tim broadcast from their new studio for the first time and Tim was absolutely not having it—he hated everything about the change while Ricki tried to keep it together. The handball vs downball vs upball debate continued after a Melbournian TikToker reignited Australia's most divisive schoolyard argument, with listeners calling in from every state with different names for the same game. A legendary songwriter got mistaken for Ghislaine Maxwell at the Grammys because of their similar hairstyles, and the internet lost it. Australian Idol returned with over a million viewers and some incredible auditions that'll make you cry. SZA defended Cher's Luther Vandross mix-up in the sweetest way, Nicki Minaj randomly came for Lizzo on Twitter with a Chucky photo, and Kim K allegedly had an intimate Cotswolds weekend with Lewis Hamilton complete with bodyguards outside their hotel room door. Plus we did the last ever Joel Jivin' in drive show history—RIP to a legend.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Leon Thomas is a singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. He's nominated for six Grammys at this year's Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Album of the Year for Mutt. Mutt is his second album, and I talked to Leon about the title track, which was a breakout hit. He'd already won a Grammy for his work with SZA, but he reached a new level in his own career with this song and this album. I also spoke to David Phelps and Rob Gueringer, AKA D. Phelps and Freaky Rob, who produced the song. For more info, visit songexploder.net/leon-thomas.
The ultimate gauntlet of popular music is upon us once again: it's Grammy season, and this year, the competition is pretty tight across the board. Big ticket A-listers like Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga occupy three of the four big categories (Song, Record, and Album of the Year), while folks like Olivia Dean, Lola Young, Leon Thomas, and Addison Rae duke it out in Best New Artist. On this episode of Switched on Pop, Charlie, Nate, and Reanna take a look at the "big four" categories, and stump for their respective frontrunners in order to predict who will be taking home a golden phonograph (or two). Texas basketball is built different — and Celeste Jackson is proof. At just 15 years old, the 6'0” double-double machine out of Stony Point High School is already making serious noise across the state and on the national stage. Whether she's wearing the Tigers jersey on Friday nights or suiting up for CyFair Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit, Celeste is showing the country what elite looks like.In this episode of SportsLifeTalk's You Got Next, we sit down with one of Texas' fastest-rising stars to talk about her journey, her mindset, and what it really takes to compete at the highest level of girls' basketball.Celeste's basketball journey started in fourth grade when her dad — a former Division I and Division II player — signed her up for a neighborhood team. At first, basketball wasn't love at first sight. But after stepping on the court for her very first game, something clicked.By seventh grade, the game became serious. That's when Celeste locked in.Early morning workouts with her dad.Late nights in the gym.Extra reps.Film study.Strength training.Skill development.Today, she's known for her physicality, her motor, her rebounding, and her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. She's not just a scorer — she's a complete player who brings toughness, leadership, and consistency every time she steps between the lines.Wearing the CyFair Elite jersey means you're carrying a target.Competing on the Nike EYBL circuit means playing against the best players in the country while college coaches line the sidelines with clipboards and offers ready. Celeste talks about what it's like playing on the biggest stages — from Louisville to Phoenix — and how the pressure of EYBL only sharpened her competitive edge. And Celeste thrives in that environment. She takes pride in being the energy player. The rebounder. The vocal leader. The teammate everyone can lean on when the game gets tough.“People want to beat you just because of the name on your chest,” she says. And she loves it.At Stony Point High School, Celeste has become the heartbeat of the program. Her presence in the paint, her ability to score through contact, and her leadership have helped elevate the Tigers into one of Central Texas' toughest matchups. She's the player coaches game-plan for.The one opponents circle on the scouting report. The one teammates trust when the moment gets big.And she's only getting better.Off the court, Celeste is grounded, humble, and focused. An only child, she values her family deeply and credits her parents for keeping her balanced through the pressures of elite basketball. When she's not in the gym, she's:Watching moviesShoppingHanging with friendsExploring new interestsShe's also serious about her future beyond basketball, with interests in business and dreams of becoming either a real estate agent or an ultrasound technician.Because for Celeste, success isn't just about hoops — it's about building a life.Favorite emoji:

What began as an off-the-cuff observation turned into a full-blown conversation after listeners weighed in on the differences between Beyoncé's Renaissance film and Taylor Swift's End of an Era.In this episode, I unpack your comments and explore what might actually be driving the contrast — race, leadership style, perfectionism, collaboration, narrative choices, or something deeper. This isn't about competition. It's about power, perception, and how different women are allowed to move through the world — and be believed when they do.Let's talk about it.Also! I want to know more about you.If you have a few minutes, take the listener survey below and tell me where you're listening from, what you want more of, and what conversations you want this show to explore next.Take my survey here!https://forms.gle/yf5XvCUGyDn9tYUZ7Subscribe for monthly bonus episodes:https://www.patreon.com/c/queenthingspodhttps://queenthings.substack.com/Join the conversation:TikTok -@queenthingspod, @iam_kjmillerYouTube - www.youtube.com/@iamkjmillerIG:@kjmillerReferences:The Art of Loving - Album by Olivia Dean:https://open.spotify.com/album/0l8zYqoUeBYg47Gmevq9HZ?si=0Liwb4fUQBKtPHnHq2Op1QMy TikTok on End of an Era vs. the Renaissance Documentary:https://www.tiktok.com/@iam_kjmiller/video/7591937416143850765Taylor's End of an Era Docuseries:https://www.disneyplus.com/browse/entity-a948a435-fdcc-4cbe-b699-85dd62fec60bBeyoncé's Renaissance Documentary:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance:_A_Film_by_Beyonc%C3%A9Ashley Tisdale's Article from The Cut:https://www.thecut.com/article/ashley-tisdale-french-mom-group-mean-girls-parenting.html@erica_mags TikTok about the article:https://www.tiktok.com/@erica_mags/video/7590906583794732319?lang=enGirl Get Up feat. We left you hangin’ for a few weeks, but it’s 2026 and we’re ready to kick off another successful year of podding. Rory gets a 2026 prediction correct immediately because Doechii and SZA dropped the first of what we think will be many collabs. Does this mean another Doechii album is on its way? Hitboy makes the best of a bad situation with his video for “Crow Bar”. Mal drops the hot take that Fabolous has a better discography than Jada, but do Rory and Demaris agree? Plus, Plus, Kai Cenant’s breakup got Rory and Mal feelin’ bad for the kid, we rip one of the most embarrassing wedding videos of all-time, and our voicemail ensures we remain the horniest hip-hop pod #volumeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

2025 won't be remembered as the year for love, peace and harmony. War and military attacks were happening everywhere - from the Ukraine to the Middle East to Venezuela to Nigeria. Natural disasters like wildfires and floods swept the U.S. And not only did we lose beloved celebrities like Diane Keaton, Robert Redford and Ozzy Osbourne, other popular figures - from Rob and Michele Reiner to Charlie Kirk to Melissa and Mark Hortman - died in devastating ways that shocked the world. Political differences polarized Americans with increasing intensity, AI made us increasingly unsure what was even real, social media became a toxic wasteland, and millions were facing the loss of health insurance at year's end as a result of the expiration of ACA subsidies. We could go on and on, but we know you lived through it, too. So this week your hosts of "How We Heard It" decided to highlight some positive things about 2025 with lists of the year's best songs and albums and movies and TV shows. They were riveted by movies like "One Battle After Another," "Sinners" and "Weapons" and intrigued by films like "Nuremburg," "Companion" and "Good Boy." On the small screen, your hosts were thrilled by "IT: Welcome to Derry" and "Alien: Earth," challenged by "The Bear" and "White Lotus" and tickled by "The English Teacher" and a revived "South Park." Musically, Kendrick Lamar and SZA teamed up on a sizzling tribute to Luther Vandross, the U.K.'s Wet Leg brought back rowdy alt-rock excitement, and Taylor Swift may have saved us from the fate of Ophelia. It was almost enough to inspire them to do that little Swiftie dance. If they could dance.
Justin Bieber BioSnap a weekly updated Biography. This is Biosnap AI. In the past few days, Justin Bieber has been visible less for controversy and more as a legacy act stepping confidently into his veteran era, with a few moves that could matter long term. Entertainment Weekly reports that he made a rare live appearance in Los Angeles, surprising a sold out SoFi Stadium when he joined SZA onstage during her Grand National Tour for a duet of their 2023 collaboration Snooze. The performance, complete with playful onstage chemistry and a dramatic lift lowering them beneath the stage, marked his first stadium appearance since his Coachella 2024 cameo and signaled that he is edging back into big venue performance mode rather than full touring.Biographically, the larger backdrop is that 2025 has effectively been his comeback year as a recording artist. Wikipedia and multiple music outlets note that he released back to back albums Swag and Swag II this year, more than 40 new songs that reasserted him as an R and B leaning pop presence after a semi hiatus. The Honey Pop writes that Justin Bieber took first place this year, framing 2025 as the year he quote dominated with those records and reignited Bieber Fever, a characterization that, while fan driven, reflects the volume of coverage around the dual releases. On the business and image side, recent coverage continues to link him to the broader Bieber brand machine. TechnoSuffice estimates his 2025 net worth around 300 million dollars, attributing it to music, past touring and business ventures, and lifestyle press has repeatedly connected him to fashion and potential future drops from his SKYLRK brand, though some of that product speculation for 2026 remains unconfirmed and should be treated as fan and blogger expectation rather than hard fact. Earlier this year, outlets such as AOL highlighted his public support of wife Hailey after her Rhode beauty line was acquired by e.l.f. Cosmetics in a one billion dollar deal, reinforcing his shift into high profile family man and investor adjacent optics more than tabloid chaos.Culturally, his catalog is being treated as modern pop canon. A candlelight string quartet tribute show in Miami this week built its entire set list around his hits from Baby to Peaches to newer cuts like Daisies and Yukon, a reminder that even on nights when he is not physically present, the Bieber narrative has moved into the legacy tribute phase more commonly reserved for acts a decade older.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Send us a textWhat makes a love song last—melody, memory, or the moment you needed it most? We put that question to the test with a no-mercy R&B love song draft spanning the 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. Three hosts build rival playlists across high-stakes categories: best song, male and female group records, duets, covers, remixes, breakup anthems, and decade picks. Every selection has to earn its place, and every hot take has to survive the smoke. We go deep on the culture: why Whitney's I Will Always Love You became the definitive cover, how samples carry love stories across generations, and where the line sits between love, lust, and obsession. Expect strong opinions—SWV's Weak goes early, Miguel's Adorn and Frank Ocean's Thinkin Bout You anchor the 2010s, and SZA's Snooze and Muni Long's Made For Me make their case for modern classics. We champion sleepers like Anthony Hamilton's The Point of It All and Lauryn Hill and D'Angelo's Nothing Even Matters, and we push back on sacred cows with overrated calls that might rattle a hive or two.By the time we hit duets, male-led, and female-led rounds—Avant and Keke Wyatt's chemistry, Luther's patience, Fantasia's glow, Beyoncé's Plastic Off the Sofa—the boards tell a story about how R&B holds our best and hardest moments. We end with a full recap and a clear way to crown a winner: three playlists, your votes. Tap play to hear the case for each track, then choose the lineup you'd ride with forever.Living the Dream with CurveballOn the living the dream with curveball podcast I interview guests that inspire.Listen on: Apple Podcasts FOLLOW. MUSICApple Music released its year-end data, and 2025 was good to Kendrick Lamar. He and SZA had the top song of the year in the U.S., with "Luther". Morgan Wallen had a good year, too. We discuss the the Top 10:On the Global chart, the #1 song was "APT." by ROSE and Bruno Mars. "Luther" came in second. Even though Kendrick had a great year, he did NOT accomplish his main goal, which was to END DRAKE. He was Apple's most-streamed artist GLOBALLY in 2025. Willie Nelson is tired of the internet trying to kill him off . . . and he finally said so in the most Willie way possible. https://www.whiskeyriff.com/2025/12/01/willie-nelson-sounds-off-on-the-endless-amount-of-ai-slop-about-him-if-you-believe-those-death-stories-one-more-time/ Think you can dodge Wham! this holiday season? Think again. Whamageddon is the ultimate holiday survival game. The challenge? Make it till Christmas Eve without hearing Wham!'s “Last Christmas.” Sounds easy, right? Nope. This song is everywhere, from here on the radio to shops to the dentist's office. The rules are simple: if you hear the original 1984 version of the song, you're out and have to post your fail to #Whamageddon. But covers and remixes? Totally safe. The song is hard to escape … So, be careful out there. And good luck! https://www.aol.com/articles/think-beat-whamageddon-dodge-one-205519330.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9zdGF0aWNzLnRlYW1zLmNkbi5vZmZpY2UubmV0Lw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAE4LKFNU0obfYftLM3HS0I3IXT_4AMPdBHCN-dMHo1M-dws6Qq0VHTcF4fc2qyJdxXb02DCE_XrcWpU8FOGBgHrgBwDq-gfmY3loC0GtJOf9JCAIbMJrXuLpwLMz2lUYMDjtFC5REf3ACTxe5qsAYFGl2jfiv__btgFG-1mFXoNi TVThe Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting: The famous tree will be lit tonight during Christmas in Rockefeller Center, a two-hour special airing live from New York City on NBC and simulcast on Peacock. He beat Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma seven months ago, and in October, doctors found TONGUE cancer during a routine scan. Dave shared the news on "Today" yesterday. Quote, "It turned out that I have P16 squamous carcinoma at the base of my tongue. I said to the doctors, 'Well, did this happen because of the lymphoma?' So it'll come as no surprise to see it on his list of the Top 20 Movies of the 21st Century. Tarantino set only one rule for himself: Only one film per director.
