Kia is the latest manufacturer to be hit with a recall. 380,000 vehicles are recalled for serious fire hazards. A perfect storm of rebates and discounts offers up the best deal on a new Toyota Mirai. After a few months of being away Pete and Rob are back in the saddle talking cars. With the chaos of the holidays it took some time to figure out our separate remote set ups. This week Pete get's behind the wheel of Rob's bmw M roadster. We didn't record his drive for two reasons. First, Pete was giggling so much that the audio would have been useless. Second, Rob sent our lavalier mics back because their quality was less than desired. Pretty sure you can tell how excited Pete was in the post drive recording of this episode. Then we dive straight into the new Hummer. The power numbers were impressive. The range is pretty good. However, does turning the Hummer into an EV platform miss the mark on what it was intended to do? Does this make the new Hummer a bummer?

It finally happened. The stars aligned and Rob got a new car. Well, new to him anyway. Out of completely no where. First, Rob recounts his abysmal car history and then we get into how that story has come to a close.

This week on Joyride we have our friend Adam Hines back from Highbank Co. He recently added to his fleet. Got burned by a total rust bucket but was able to flip that into a wonderful sports car from Japan. Rob goes for a spin in Adam’s second generation Mazda Miata. Adam got it for an absolute bargain and what a beauty this car is. Two seats, plenty of power, manual transmission, and a perfect day to go for a drive with the top down. He’s done a handful of things and has plans for many more. We also tease out Rob’s new ride. Check out next week to see if it arrives in one piece.

This week we were stunned by an auction from Bring A Trailer. On the auction block was a gorgeous 1988 BMW M3. In a beautiful Zinnoberrot ( go ahead and try to pronounce that )red with a tan interior. The car was mint and so was the buyer. When the gavel fell it fetched a whopping two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Beautiful yes but it begs the question.
