On this episode of the MacBroz Show, Josh is out at GunCon 2026, so Darius takes over hosting duties and keeps the show rolling with a competition-focused episode. We kick things off with the Fun Fact of the Day, featuring the Chevrolet Corvette — the longest continuously produced sports car in U.S. history, first introduced in 1953. From there, Darius introduces a new show concept: Interview Roulette. Throughout the episode, several competition shooters join the conversation to answer a quick series of questions about their current setup, classification, mindset, and what they're working on as competitors. The guests break down: What pistol they're currently competing withTheir current competition classificationTheir favorite part of shooting competitionWhat they're focused on improving right nowTheir biggest hurdle in competition This episode is a fun look into the different stages of the competition shooting journey — from gear choices and skill development to match pressure, growth goals, and the challenges every shooter faces along the way. Whether you're already competing, thinking about signing up for your first match, or just like hearing shooters talk through their process, this one gives a real-world look at what keeps people coming back to the sport. Recalls are supposed to be rare. This week proves they're practically a genre of automotive news all by themselves. We start by sorting through a big stack of safety and compliance issues across major brands, from Ford truck and SUV problems like wiper arm failures and trailer braking or signal concerns to GM's backup camera glitches and even scarier talk of rear wheel lockup risk on diesel trucks and SUVs. If you follow automotive recalls, new car reliability, or just want to know what could affect your daily drive, you'll leave with a clearer picture of what's happening and why it matters. Then we switch gears into pure fun with “Guess What It Sold For,” pulling recent online sale results and putting our instincts to the test. We bounce from an affordable 1968 Chevrolet Corvair and a scruffy 1967 Mustang convertible to a classy 1946 Cadillac Series 62, a 1972 Dodge Challenger, and a 1993 Ford Ranger that somehow still brings real money. The collector car market is equal parts logic and emotion, and you can hear that push and pull in every guess. The jaw-dropper is a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window “Fuely” that sells for $235,000, which leads to a real conversation about numbers-matching originality, rare mechanical fuel injection, and why some cars stop being transportation and start becoming rolling history. We also hit a quick Texas cruise-in and car show calendar, plus two big culture notes: Scout's delayed return under Volkswagen and Ford replacing Carol Shelby street names with modern nameplates.Subscribe for more car talk, share this with a friend who loves auctions or hates recalls, and leave a review with the one sale price that shocked you most.Be sure to subscribe for more In Wheel Time Car Talk! The Lupe' Tortilla RestaurantsLupe Tortilla in Katy, Texas Gulf Coast Auto ShieldPaint protection, tint, and more!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. ON TODAYS PROGRAM… WITH GIANPIERO LAMBIASES LEAVING RED BULL THE MAX ERA IN F1 COMING TO AN END… WHEN FERRARI PLAY CATCH UP…WELL WE'VE SEEN THAT COMEDY OF ERRORS BEFORE MERCEDES WILL NEVER SHOW ALL THEIR CARDS AND… FERNANDO KNOWS THE FAT LADY IS ABOUT TO SING! THIS WEEK'S NASIR HAMEED CORNER WE HAVE: ZACK BROWN before he joined McLaren and BOB BONDURANT… AND YES….OUR BONUS IS HIRO MATSUSHITA OF FORMULA 1 AND CHAMP CAR FAME! Bob Bondurant was one of America's most influential racing figures — a driver who succeeded on the world's greatest circuits, competed for legendary teams including Shelby American, Ferrari, and Eagle, and ultimately shaped generations of racers through education. Rising from the fiercely competitive Southern California road racing scene of the 1950s, Bondurant achieved significant success on both sides of the Atlantic and became a pivotal ambassador for American road racing. His enduring legacy lives on through the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, which trained hundreds of thousands of drivers — from future professionals to Hollywood royalty. Career, Bondurant was born in Evanston, Illinois, but his competitive instincts emerged early and loudly. As a teenager, he raced Indian motorcycles on dirt ovals, learning car control the hard way. By 1956, he shifted his focus to sports cars, initially racing a Morgan, and soon made his mark by winning the West Coast “B” Production Championship in a Chevrolet Corvette, claiming an extraordinary 18 victories in 20 races. His growing reputation caught the attention of Santa Barbara Chevrolet dealer Shelly Washburn, who hired Bondurant in 1961 to drive his #614 1959 Corvette. Over the next several seasons, Bondurant became a dominant force on the West Coast. His on-track rivalry with David McDonald produced some of the era's most memorable Corvette battles. At the 1962 L.A. Times Grand Prix, Bondurant debuted Washburn's new 1963 Corvette Z06 Stingray, and between 1961 and 1963, he won an astonishing 30 of 32 races in Washburn's Corvettes. Shelby, Europe, and international success In 1963, Bondurant joined Carroll Shelby's Ford Cobra team, immediately delivering results. He won his first race for Shelby at Continental Divide Raceway in Colorado, followed by an overall GT victory at the L.A. Times Grand Prix at Riverside later that year. The following season propelled him onto the global stage. After finishing second in GT at Sebring, Bondurant spent 1964 racing in Europe, campaigning Shelby's new 289 FIA Cobras at iconic events including the Targa Florio, Spa-Francorchamps, and the Nürburgring. His most celebrated triumph came at the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he and Dan Gurney won the GT class in the revolutionary Cobra Daytona Coupé. Bondurant reached the peak of his international racing career in 1965, when he played a key role in Shelby American and Ford winning the FIA Manufacturers' World Championship. He won seven of ten races, defeating the class-dominant Ferrari 250 GTOs across Europe. That same year, Bondurant expanded his résumé further, driving a works Ferrari Formula One car at the United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, followed by a start in a Lotus 33 for Reg Parnell at the Mexican Grand Prix. Formula One, film, and defining moments In 1966, Bondurant's expertise took him beyond the racetrack. He served as technical consultant for John Frankenheimer's film Grand Prix and personally trained lead actor James Garner to drive Formula cars for the movie's racing scenes. That same year, Bondurant was involved in one of the most consequential moments in motorsport safety history. Alongside Graham Hill, he helped extract Jackie Stewart from his fuel-soaked wreck during the 1966 Belgian Grand Prix — an incident that directly inspired Stewart's later campaign for improved safety standards. Bondurant also competed in five Formula One Grands Prix with Team Chamaco Collect, driving BRMs and achieving an impressive fourth-place finish at Monaco. He rounded out his Formula One involvement in North America with two races driving an Eagle for Dan Gurney's Anglo American Racers. The crash that changed everything In 1967, Bondurant competed in the Can-Am series and returned to Le Mans in a Corvette L88 Coupé, leading the GT class until a wrist pin failure ended his race in the early morning hours. Later that year, disaster struck at Watkins Glen. While driving a McLaren, a steering arm failed at approximately 150 mph approaching the Loop-Chute section (today's Turn 5). The car flipped eight times, leaving Bondurant with severe injuries to his ribs, legs, feet, and most critically, his back. Doctors warned he might never walk again. Bondurant refused to accept that verdict. Through determination and relentless rehabilitation, he recovered — and in the process, envisioned a new chapter. LAMBIASE TO LEAVE ORACLE RED BULL RACING IN 2028 Oracle Red Bull Racing confirms that GianPiero Lambiase will leave the Team in 2028, when his current contract expires. “GP” is a valued member of the Team, which he joined in 2015. Miami and Montreal to host FIA Formula 2 Championship Rounds in 2026 FIA Formula 2 announce that Miami and Montreal will host Rounds 2 and 3 of the 2026 calendar, alongside Formula 1 – the first time the Championship will race in North America. The opportunity for Miami and Montreal to join the F2 calendar has come about following the news that the Sakhir and Jeddah Rounds will not take place in April. The FIA Formula 2 championship will go to Miami, USA, on May 1-3 for what will be the second Round of the 2026 season, followed by Montreal, Canada on May 22-24, as Round 3, before returning to Europe, starting with Monte-Carlo, Monaco, on June 04-07. Stefano Domenicali, President & CEO of Formula 1, said: “While it has not been possible to go ahead with the two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia this month, and we look forward to being back with our passionate fans there as soon as possible, it is great news for our fans, the drivers and the teams that Formula 2 will be racing in Miami and Montreal. Bruno and the whole F2 family have done a great job, working closely with us, the FIA, and the Miami and Montreal promoters, to ensure we limit the gap in racing for the championship this season and I want to thank them for making this possible. It is going to be fantastic to restart the racing in a few weeks' time and to have F2 alongside Formula 1 as we return to the US for the first time this season.” Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President, said: “Following the necessary changes to the calendar at the start of the season, the addition of these new rounds ensures the FIA Formula 2 Championship remains strong and balanced, and able to deliver for our teams, drivers and fans. Bringing the championship to North America via Miami and Montreal for the first time marks an important step in its continued global growth, strengthening the pathway alongside Formula One and connecting with new audiences. I thank all those who worked tirelessly to make these rounds possible. “Our thoughts remain with all those affected by the ongoing events in the Middle East and we continue to hope for a swift return to stability. We look forward to racing in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia very soon.” Bruno Michel, FIA Formula 2 CEO, said: “We always love to race in Sakhir and Jeddah, and we wish them well and look forward to returning to both as soon as circumstances allow. We are now going to Miami and Montreal for the second and third rounds of the 2026 season, respectively. I would like to thank Stefano Domenicali and Formula 1 for their support in making this possible, and also the FIA, the promoters of the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix, and of course my team, who have worked hard to put in place two new Rounds in such a short amount of time. It was not an easy thing to do, but bringing F2 to North America for the first time is really fantastic. It's something we have been wanting to do for a long time, and it enables us to ensure we're back racing as quickly as possible. It will be a great new challenge for our teams and our drivers, who have all welcomed the news with enthusiasm. I am certain that the quality of racing will bring a lot of excitement to the fans and to everyone attending both Grands Prix.” Revised 2026 FIA Formula 2 Championship Calendar Date Venue 06-08 March Melbourne, Australia 01-03 May Miami, USA* 22-24 May Montreal, Canada* 04-07 June Monte-Carlo, Monaco 12-14 June Barcelona, Spain 26-28 June Spielberg, Austria 03-05 July Silverstone, Great Britain 17-19 July Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 24-26 July Budapest, Hungary 04-06 September Monza, Italy 11-13 September Madrid, Spain** 24-26 September Baku, Azerbaijan 27-29 November Lusail, Qatar 04-06 December Yas Island, UAE ASTON MARTIN ARAMCO FORMULA ONE™ TEAM EXPANDS DRIVER ACADEMY LINE-UP, WELCOMING AVA LAWRENCE & ROLAND NAGY AMRTC, UK, 9 April 2026: The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team is pleased to announce the expansion of its Driver Academy, welcoming DPK Racing karters Ava Lawrence and Roland Nagy to the programme. It's going to be such a huge step to help me improve my driving and become even better on track. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on the team and learning from them. “Getting to visit the AMR Technology Campus (AMRTC) for my announcement was so cool. My favourite part of the day was seeing the different materials they use on the Formula One cars and actually getting to touch parts of the car. It was so interesting to see how it's all made!” Roland Nagy, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team Driver Academy: “I'm really pleased to be a part of the Aston Martin Aramco Driver Academy. The team will be giving me a lot of support, which will be really important for my career, and I'm excited to learn as much as I can from everyone I meet inside the team. “It was really cool to visit the AMRTC. I really liked how it looks, both outside and inside – it's very futuristic. My favourite part was seeing how the cars are made. It's amazing seeing Formula One cars up close and what they look like on the inside.” Ava and Roland join current Aston Martin Aramco Driver Academy members Mari Boya, competing in FIA Formula 2, and Mathilda Paatz, F1 ACADEMY driver.

GM yesterday unveiled a Chevrolet Corvette concept car with a 3D printed body. Not only is the body lighter, but additive manufacturing would allow GM to reduce the part count. According to GM Authority, the carmaker sold a little more than 33,000 Corvettes in the U.S. last year, and advancements in additive manufacturing can already suit applications with volumes in the low tens of thousands—and this one is in the future, so who knows what will be possible then, or, if there will be one. GM's UK team created the concept as part of an advanced design study that includes multiple studios currently preparing to reveal additional Corvette concepts throughout the year.

Shoot us a Text. The auto industry breathed a sigh of relief yesterday as it was announced that they will be exempt from the 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods. Plus, we're looking at the cars that hold their value the best, and Google's push towards AI search.Show Notes with links:The auto industry is temporarily relieved by a one-month exemption from the 25% tariffs on vehicles covered by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). President Trump granted the reprieve following requests from Ford, GM, and Stellantis, with the ultimate goal of shifting production to the U.S.The automotive provisions of the USMCA require that 75% of a vehicle's components be made in North America (up from 62.5% under NAFTA) to qualify for zero tariffs, and mandate that 40-45% of auto parts be made by workers earning at least $16 per hour, aiming to boost North American production and labor standards. Most automotive manufacturers comply with USMCA standards and The American Automotive Policy Council and automakers expressed gratitude for the temporary exemption.Suppliers remain concerned about long-term impacts, despite positive signs for USMCA-compliant parts.Dealers and industry experts view the exemption as part of a broader strategy to encourage domestic manufacturing, but uncertainty persists.“The damage has already been done. For an industry that operates in three- to five-year product cycles, this level of day-to-day uncertainty is debilitating.” — Glenn Stevens, Executive Director of MichAuto.Last week we covered the cars with the most depreciation, and now, Kelley Blue Book has announced its annual Best Resale Value Awards, highlighting the top performers of 2025.The top 10 vehicles are projected to retain an average of 58% of their original MSRP, compared to the market average of 44.6%.Toyota dominates the list, securing four of the top ten spots, including the #1 2025 Toyota Tacoma with a projected 64.1% resale value. The full top 10 list includes the 2025 Toyota GR Supra (53.7%), 2025 Porsche 911 (53.8%), 2025 Toyota RAV4 (53.9%), 2025 Honda CR-V (54.4%), 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class (56.6%), 2025 Ford Bronco (57.0%), 2025 Toyota 4Runner (60.0%), 2025 Toyota Tundra (60.9%), 2025 Chevrolet Corvette (61.0%), and 2025 Toyota Tacoma (64.1%).Google is accelerating its AI integration into search with a new feature called AI Mode, adding a chatbot-like experience directly to the core of Google Search.AI Mode, currently in testing, is only available to Google One AI Premium subscribers and must be enabled in the Labs section of Search. The feature offers a search-centric chatbot experience, delivering AI-generated answers directly from Google's search index with supporting links throughout.AI Mode uses the Gemini 2.0 model, aiming to improve Google's ability to handle more advanced queries while providing real-time data and web interaction. While concerns remain about Google's shift away from traditional website linking, Stein asserts that AI Overviews anHosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email
Support Breaking Walls at https://www.patreon.com/thewallbreakers It's 6PM on Wednesday, January 11th, 1956. I'm at Colbee's Restaurant on the ground floor of the CBS headquarters at 485 Madison Avenue. I'm about to have a bite to eat with the man you just heard, Mandel Kramer. Yesterday at Edwards Air Force Base in California, U.S. Air Force First Lt. Barty R. Brooks died in the crash of a F-100 Super Sabre. The accident was caught on film. Word from Memphis is that young singer Elvis Presley recorded a new song called “Heartbreak Hotel.” Today's cover of The New York Daily News shows Grace Kelly in Monaco, but the interior pages talk about the rising problems in Vietnam. South Vietnam President Ngô Đình Diệm issued an ordinance giving his government almost unchecked power to deal with any opposition. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union has approved technical specifications for an R-13 submarine-launched missile. And earlier today, The 1956 Chevrolet Corvette was announced. It'll cost three-thousand-one-hundred-twenty dollars. It features a new body, convertible top, optional power steering, optional hardtop, and rollup glass windows. The V6 option has been dropped in favor of either a two-hundred-ten or two-hundred-twenty horsepower V8 Engine. A 3-speed manual transmission is now standard. The main national news is the debate on whether or not President Dwight D. Eisenhower will seek a second term. After suffering a heart attack in September of 1955 Ike is still undeclared, meeting with an array of doctors to gauge whether the rigors of running for reelection will cause undue health issues. The United Press reported on Tuesday the 10th that sixty percent of the more than four hundred doctors polled felt that Dwight would be able to serve. Perhaps some insight into Ike's psyche was gleaned when on Monday, January 9th, he once again took over full White House duties, including naming Bernard M. Shanley Appointments Secretary. Meanwhile, on NBC radio, Keys To The Capital is airing.
Ford Mustang, Ford Mustang… ¿A qué me refiero?
In episode 94 of the BaT Podcast, Alex, Randy and Zac shoot the breeze (but not the fish) about: Corona vs Cordoba, a rosier view of the current state of the market, Carrera RS colors, the dread question: "Is it real?", anti-stripe contrarianism, and searching by Lot Number, capping things off with a rambling exploration through our leaders' highly eclectic watchlists. 1. Ford T (1908). Histórico. 2. Jeep Willys (1941). El “precursor” de todos los TT. 3. Citroën DS (1955). Muy adelantado a su tiempo. 4. Jaguar E (1961). Bonito y barato… le faltó ser bueno. 5. Lamborghini Miura (1966). Con él nacen los “Superdeportivos”. 6. Chevrolet Corvette (1967). “Más americano que la Coca Cola”. 7. Volkswagen Golf GTi (1976). Los deportivos dejaron de ser Coupés. 8. Audi Quattro (1980). Marcó un “antes” y un “después”. 9. Ferrari Testarossa (1984). Acuñó la palabra “Testarro”. 10. Lancia Delta Integrale (1987).

The End of an Era: Farewell to the Two-Seat ThunderbirdOn this day, December 13,1957, automotive enthusiasts bid farewell to an iconic chapter in Americanautomotive history—the two-seat Ford Thunderbird. As production came to a closeon that fateful day, it marked the end of an era that had captivated the heartsof drivers across the nation.During its brief butimpactful run, the two-seat Thunderbird had major implications on theautomotive landscape. Introduced in 1955 as Ford's response to the ChevroletCorvette, the Thunderbird quickly gained a reputation for blending sportinesswith luxury. Over the course of its three-year production span, a total of53,166 units were manufactured. The two-seat Thunderbirdwas born into a market that would be shared with the Chevrolet Corvette, whichhad been introduced in 1953. While the Corvette leaned heavily into its sportscar image, the Thunderbird carved its niche as a "personal luxurycar," providing a more refined driving experience by offering a uniquecombination of performance and comfort.Performance-wise, in 1955 theThunderbird and Corvette were closely matched. Both cars boasted V8 engines, offering drivers a thrilling and powerful ride. The Thunderbird's 312cubic-inch V8 engine, producing 245 horsepower, provided a spirited performancethat rivaled the Corvette's capabilities. When it comes to these two icons onewould not exist without the other. The T-Bird was created to help fill the voidin its product line up that was caused by the Corvette. Ironically withextremely low sales by 1955 General Motors was considering canceling theCorvette. With the Thunderbird coming to market (and a little Zora Duntov) GMdecided to continue the Corvette. So Ford peep's thank the Vette guys, andVette guys show some respect for the Bird.Where the Thunderbirdtruly stood out was in its interior design and features. The Thunderbird wasequipped with amenities that were uncommon in sports cars of the era, such aspower windows, power seats, and a removable hardtop. This focus on comfort andconvenience made the Thunderbird an appealing option for those who sought bothperformance and sophistication.Despite its initialsuccess, the two-seat Thunderbird faced challenges in the market. Ford observeda shifting consumer preference towards larger, more family-oriented vehicles. In response to this trend, Ford made the strategic decision to discontinue thetwo-seat Thunderbird in favor of a new four-seat model that would debut in1958.Today, the two-seatThunderbird is a cherished classic among collectors and enthusiasts. Itslimited production run and distinctive design have contributed to itsdesirability. The Thunderbird'sdeparture from the market marked the end of an era but paved the way for newchapters in Ford's legacy. The two-seat Thunderbird remains a symbol of abygone era, a time when American automakers embraced innovation andcompetition, leaving an enduring impact on the automotive landscape.www.nodrivinggloves.com

The Father of Automotive Design: Celebrating Harley Earl's Legacy on His BirthdayToday, we celebrate the birthday of a pioneer whose influence has left an indelible mark on the automotive industry – Harley Earl. Born on November 22, 1893, in Los Angeles, California, Earl became a trailblazer in the industry, earning the title of the "Father of Automotive Design" for his revolutionary contributions.Harley J. Earl's journey into the world of automobiles began in the early 20th century. His father, J.W. Earl, operated a coach-building shop in LA, exposing young Harley to the intricacies of automotive craftsmanship. Earl's keen interest and innate artistic talent, along with the family business, led him to pursue a career in car design, eventually catching the eye of General Motors (GM) founder William C. Durant. In 1927, Harley Earl joined General Motors, marking the beginning of a transformative era in automotive design. Earl's appointment as the head of GM's Art and Color Section signaled a paradigm shift. He introduced the concept of "styling" to the automotive world, emphasizing the importance of aesthetics alongside functionality.Under Earl's leadership, the 1927 LaSalle became the first production car to feature stylistic input from an in-house design team, setting the stage for a new era of automotive elegance. Earl's vision went beyond mere functionality – he believed cars should be works of art, capturing the spirit of the times. One of Harley Earl's most iconic contributions was the introduction of tailfins in the 1948 Cadillac. Inspired by World War II fighter planes, these sleek and distinctive fins became synonymous with post-war American automotive design. Earl's daring innovations set trends that influenced the industry for decades.Earl's creative genius extended beyond Cadillac to other GM brands like Chevrolet, Buick, and Oldsmobile. The '50s and '60s saw the birth of iconic models such as the Chevrolet Corvette and the Buick Riviera, solidifying GM's position as a leader in automotive design.Harley Earl retired from General Motors in 1958, leaving behind a legacy that transformed the automotive landscape. His impact on the industry was not just about designing cars; it was about shaping the very culture of American automobiles. Earl's emphasis on design as a driving force in the automotive world paved the way for future generations of designers to consider form as much as function.Harley Earl's birthday serves as a reminder of the enduring legacy of a man whose creative vision transformed the automotive industry. From the introduction of stylistic design to the iconic tailfin era, Earl's impact is woven into the fabric of American automotive history. In Podcast 312, John Davis and the MotorWeek crew cover three automotive gamechangers. First up, we went to Barcelona to drive Volvo's newest, smallest, and cheapest EV, the EX30, which starts around $35,000. Then we had some seat time in Chevy's hybrid C8 Corvette, the E-Ray. And following up the first ever all-electric RAM REV is the RAM 1500 Ramcharger, an extended range EV full-size pickup. We'll explain more. Plus we've got a Lightning Round on some big problems for the robotaxi company Cruise and a viewer question about if EVs need special wheels and tires.
Bonus Track. Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 A de 1936, Oldsmobile Toronado y Saab Sonett.

Show #1446 Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily, you trusted source of EV information. It's Monday 25th April, it's Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to. VOLKSWAGEN MAKES CHARGING EASIER AND MORE CONVENIENT - The volume brands Volkswagen, Cupra/Seat and ŠKODA are now offering simple tariffs for public charging, allowing customers to charge at fixed kilowatt-hour prices throughout the entire charging network. With this step, the company creates optimal cost transparency. - In the future, customers will have the choice between three basic tariffs, each with fixed prices per kilowatt hour charged. The new tariffs apply to customers of We Charge (Volkswagen), Powerpass (ŠKODA), Easy Charging (SEAT/CUPRA) and Elli and offer top conditions for Ionity fast chargers, among other benefits. - Depending on the country, prices can be different, but always follow the same logic.02 Elli, our in-house brand, which is responsible for all activities in the Group around the topic of charging & energy is the backbone of the offer. - charging stations will be highlighted in the e-cars navigation system and drivers will be offered the option of choosing to drive there. The quality criteria will include reliability, weather protection and if there is a catering option. This means that customers will be able to target charging stations with a canopy and coffee offering. The program is scheduled to start later this year. - Another component of the quality offensive is the market launch of Plug&Charge. The function will be activated from the middle of the year via a software update in all e-cars of the volume brands based on the MEB architecture. The vehicle identifies itself at the corresponding charging stations using the ISO 15118 standard and automatically starts the charging process. Plug&Charge is supported by IONITY, Aral/bp, E.ON and Iberdrola Original Source : https://www.volkswagen-newsroom.com/en/press-releases/quality-offensive-volkswagen-makes-charging-easier-and-more-convenient-7902 RIVIAN R1T CAN NOW CHARGE AT UP TO 500 AMPS WITH NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE - the latest 2022.11.02 software update for the Rivian R1T all-electric pickup, released this month and examined by Out of Spec Reviews. - Kyle Conner, among various changes, Rivian has increased the maximum DC fast charging current from 450 A to 500 A, which is expected to slightly increase the rate of range replenishing. - Now, we saw that it can take 498 A right away at a low state-of-charge, which combined with around 400 V is over 200 kW - 204 kW at 14% SOC to be specific. The peak (according to the charger's display) was about 217 kW, above 40% SOC. That's actually very close to the 210 kW peak value declared in technical papers. In them, the tech will help recover low-level waste heat in ways that can add up in meaningful ways—bringing them quicker acceleration, faster charging, and a longer range - the one in GM EVs employs a compressor-and-evaporator component system and a specially chosen refrigerant that undergoes a phase change. A physical reaction pays off in the release of energy as it goes from gas to liquid—to in effect amplify whatever energy it can scavenge along the way. - That extra can go toward cabin heating, low-level electrical functions, or even preconditioning of the battery—potentially extending range by as much as 10%. Energy recovery pre-cools the propulsion system to help the all-electric supertruck accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately 3 seconds. Ultium energy recovery is available on all current Ultium vehicles and planned for future Ultium vehicles. He declined to disclose when the all-electric Corvette would be released or whether the “electrified” model would be a traditional hybrid or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. - GM's confirmation of the electrified Corvettes comes amid increased pressure from Wall Street for legacy automakers to better compete against EV industry leader Tesla. It also comes a day before GM's crosstown rival, Ford Motor, is scheduled to host an event for its electric F-150 Lightning pickup, which has received significant attention from investors and media.
