Two, small town, midwestern women trying to live the average millennial life. Are we ecofriendly enough? Do the arts still offer a career path? Does astrology really affect our every day lives? So many questions, so much we don't know about the new math. Can you truly stereotype someone as a millenn…
Do you see dead people? Yeah, neither do we... unless we're in an empty theatre of course. This week we feature an off book from Episode 17 of Squibs and Soliloquies. Do you see ghosts on theatre stages like we do? Time to get into Casey's obsession with the paranormal…. Ooooooo…..
You're right, it's just as random as it reads. This week we feature an off book from Episode 22: Vaccination Station. Usually, we leave our full intros in tact, but when it comes to dessert, well, we had to give it its own spotlight. Dig in.
No, we are unfortunately not making waffles - but yes, you can stay with us in our swamp. This week we feature an off book from Episode 21: Breaking up with your friends. Though this off book is more about having friends than losing them, we also get into questioning why millennials are so obsessed with Shrek?
Getting to know us, getting to know all our insides (and outsides). Join your hostesses in this squib to discuss what really makes them tick. After having a rough week, sometimes you just want to sit down and ask silly questions to learn more about what kind of serial killer your friend is or how well they know their own vocabulary. Which one of us wants churros in our last meal? Time for you to open your ear holes and find out!
All aboard the Bill Gates conspiracy express! Casey and Morgan are both fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus (for now), and they are currently running on 5G speeds… kind of. Why did we choose to vaccinated, & how do we feel about this quick-to-market vaccination? It’s time to get your thoughts on this vaccine so be sure to reach out to us with your experiences!
Ok, you’re right, the pancetta is still here and constantly keeping us on our toes. But this Squib is to make us hopeful and slightly reflect on what the pandemonium has taught us along the way. We’re more than a year from the “American start” of the Pandora (oddly a great reference for what came upon the world), and we’re just the sort of unqualified scientists to listen to about this. So prepare yourself for some laughs.
Friendships. They keep us going. What happens when you’re at different points of your life though? Do you hang in there, or are they dragging you down? You can love someone and let them go - sometimes, it’s the best option for the both of you. How would you handle what we’ve experienced?
You found part 2! So proud of you! So proud of America! So proud of Europe! Everyone gets a participation trophy! But really, is America still offering what other countries don't? AND WHY DOESN'T AMERICA BELIEVE IN SCIENCE????
We may not be cats, but we're prepared to move forward with this off book to talk with you about our love of baguettes....and how the government keeps tabs on us.
Polar vortexes, power outages, government failures, and very cold people. These are just a few things we cover in this episode while discussing the great freeze of 2021. From a first-hand Texas encounter, Morgan gets real with what went wrong during the recent winter storm in Texas. In all seriousness, we do still have some laughs in this episode about those feelings we have when the movie, Men In Black, is actually happening in real life. Or is it? We're not a cat, and we are prepared to move forward...
From hilarious improv shows to a controversial Netflix original, we really want to hear your favorites as well as your thoughts on our thoughts. Are we professionals? Yes. Kinda. Not really. Definitely not. Professionals when it comes to our own opinions, yet open for discussion. Let us know your opinions so we can open our minds even further in the world of tv and film!
This week's episode, we reflect on the best of Valentines and the worst of Valentines. Do we even need to celebrate Valentine's day? Casey and Morgan are here to give you the in depth of a millennial Valentine's day from the single and relationship status point of view. Maybe this holiday isn't all about pinks and reds, but rather just about the discounted chocolates that make up for those past 30 days in January you spent eating nothing but kale.
We already talked about the things we want to change in our lives as a resolution, but what about just trying something new in general? What can go wrong with that? And why did 2020 have such a huge impact on the arts other than completely shutting down live performances? We'll talk about that and less in this off book session from our 2021 New Year Solutions Squibs and Soliloquies episode. Tell us what new thing you're trying in 2021!
But really, isn't the world scary enough without an intentional feeling of instant regret on that first hill? Also - we're back!
Why do we do New Year's Resolutions? Are they healthy? Are they trending out? What happens to a dog when they eat catnip? Freddie the all-knowing black cat is here to answer all of your questions and more. But really, we're back now - and we have A LOT to talk about. We promise not to leave again until we need a break for season 3. Are you still there?
Welcome to our very first Off Book with Millennial Monologue bonus episode! We don’t always get to share our conversations that stray from the main topic, but we love you all so much that we wanted to share as much of OUR crazy with you as possible. Each off book session will feature a conversation from a previous episode that we unfortunately had to edit out because of how off track our conversation got. For instance, our love of fall suddenly became our view of the people living in the midwest (review Squibs and Soliloquies Addicted to Autumn to ace this test). Yeah, we’re not sure how we got there either but alas, here we are. So buckle your seatbelts, because we are diving right down that first coaster hill with you!
Veganism applies to more than just what you put in your body. It also refers to what you put on your body - specifically, the clothes you wear. While we could go into a whole spiel about sustainability with clothing, we actually want to talk about that leather jacket that Becky has been shoving in your face. She found it in a thrift store and now it's the only thing that's missing from your closet. Do you go thrift shopping and try to find the real deal? Or do you donate your animal product clothing? What happens to all the donated clothes that don't get a home? We're addressing this and more with some happy Hoosier Hurrahs to lift your spirits and enjoy the weekend. Let us know how you get thrifty!
Welcome to our October Green Room! We’ve got all the Halloween recommendations for you to watch. Whether you prefer thrillers, horrors, or competition shows, we’ve got our favorites and we want to hear yours! Also, we’ve got a new friendly competition between your favorite hostesses and we need your help. So listen up and be sure to reach out to us on our socials with your favorites and your votes!
Time to listen up to save our Earth! While everyone has been staying safe and healthy indoors (as you should), the Earth has not magically healed because of the decrease in traffic. While your commute to work may be shorter right now, there has been an increase in waste and planet destruction. In our new segment, Morgan leads you through the pros and cons of the pandemic for our climate. With a few tips and tricks, this topics is important to bring to light. There are so many cost-effective alternatives that you can use and do to help. Also, who wouldn't want to hear a rant about disinfecting wipes?
Squibs are back! And this one is a liiiiiiittle longer than usual, but millennials just really seem to love the fall season so we couldn't stop talking about it. Why is fall the best you ask? We have the answers for you. From forgotten party nights to the 21st of Semptember, there is a lot of reminiscing about Halloween costumes so we hope you listen and laugh along with us, but be sure to reach out with your past and future costumes as well!
What does it mean to be a vegan? Why is cheese so good? What is Castile Soap? Does Morgan know anything about the world of healthy eating? Are you eating baby chickens???? Well, we answer all that and more... well, kind of, in the first monologue of season 2! We're happy to be back, and we know that you missed us. This season, we'll be bringing a more "organized" structure to you. We always want to hear your feedback so don't forget to like and comment on our posts, but also shoot us an email if you disagree on our points. We're always ready to prove people wrong... I mean, listen to your point of view ;)
Just when you thought you’d heard our swan song, we are back! After hours of audio books and tv shows, we decided that we have completely rebuilt our knowledge bank and we are ready to tackle the world. Kind of. We’ve heard your feedback and we can’t wait to show you the new Millennial Monologue! But first, an updated word from your hostesses. Anyone making slime in their free time? How about anime binge sessions? Wouldn't you like to know what we have been up to?
Well, we all knew this was coming because we can’t just ignore what’s right in front of our noses. There’s chaos all around and we are willing to try our best to break down what’s happening in a city near you. As millennials, we play a big role in the future, but we’ve also had some impact in the past. Don’t worry, it’s not all heavy. We’ve got some Hoosier Hurrahs coming at you in this episode so buckle that seatbelt and hear us out.
Quarantine. We've been experiencing it, everyone knows about it. With creative focused careers, what is this quarantine doing for us mentally and how is it hurting our futures as artists? What are we doing to fight against the virus (from a safe distance)? Let us know what hobbies this quarantine has gotten you to try and how you've been staying sane.
What better to break up the mundane quarantine topic than random facts from the internet? Well, it's what we usually do anyway, but we're excited to get back up and running for you guys and get us through this tough time with the help of the toughest material: kleenex. Why take a kleenex with you to a metal concert you ask? We'll tell you. Listen in and tell us if you know how to pronounce Scottish words....
Where did we lose this episode you ask? Our minds. It went missing with our quarantine sanity long ago. We may or may not have taken a slight break. Who hasn't. Now, we're back and we're talking what keeps our feet on the ground and our hair... natural color. What have you been doing to pass the time during quarantine? Videos? TV? Planting? Follow us on our socials and be sure to keep an eye out for our next, full-length Millennial Monologue episode: coming to a podcast station very soon.
While our podcast is already a socially distancing form of entertainment, we thought we would really amp up our virtual podcast by taking it to Facebook and Instagram live! We were lucky enough to have some fans join us on our discussions about one of our favorite conspiracy theories.... Or were they actually there? Find the full episode on our Facebook and let us know if you want more of these episodes!
Could our titles get any longer? Guess you haven't read rule #247 - the longer the title, the more likely people will click that little "read more" link to read more about your life and hopefully get sucked into your hashtags then leading to them being more interested in your life to read even more of your life updates and eventually reach out to you to remember the good times you used to have in high school and how you miss those easier days and why haven't you met for coffee since then or followed them back on Instagram and who says you don't have to go to the reunion to be cooler than your other classmates and why haven't you decided to have children and what happened with your first marriage or would you like to meet my friend Gary or would you like to meet my friend Gary's sister and what's the deal with all this quarantine and why do you keep leaving me on read without responding.... wait, who are you and when did we become Facebook friends? I'm just going to follow Millennial Monologue's podcast and keep up with them instead. Reports due on Monday people!
We know everyone has been drowning in news of COVID-19 (coronavirus) so instead of filling your ears with more controversy, we wanted to fill your hearts with laughter.... laughter at us. Get to know your hosts better by listening to some of our most embarrassing stories and be sure to share your own with us as well! If we got a laugh, even a giggle, give us a like and a review! Let's get some positivity spread to the public!
It's book club time! And yes, we mean the book club where you actually talk about books. This week, we cover our secret shames and teenage obsessions. From vampires and werewolves to an unachievable society, we're ready to gush our teenage guilty pleasures to you. Check it out!
Sometimes, you have to ask yourself what's worse: posting a bad taco recipe or screaming about a taco recipe that didn't live up to your expectations? We are in an uproar on the outrage/callout culture that all generations have a hand in. Whether it's expelling your anger on someone because you've had a bad day or commenting something just because you're bored, we shouldn't be encouraging so much hate over the interwebs. Listen to this episode to find out our thoughts and to relearn the Girl Scout pledge.
Ummmm... Mercury is in retrograde and that's all there really is to know. If you're feeling it as much as we are, you might enjoy this one. We recommend pairing this with a glass of wine.
Just a little something something as a precursor for our next Squibs & Soliloquies
It's time we let our audience learn how great Morgan's memory is....Spoiler; it's about as functional as a goldfish's brain. The best part about a vacation, is how it refreshes the mind and keeps us happy worker bees. Or does it? Are we expected to operate differently than other generations when it comes to time off? Guess you'll find out if you listen. Don't forget to reach out to us and let us know what you feel!
We're baaaaaack! After a brief stint with vacations, sickness and an overload of tickets, your favorite hostesses are back and better than ever! Well, one is still recovering, but we're ready to bring back a good start to your week with a new Squibs & Soliloquies. Join us in the green room for some binge-worthy recommendations and an honorary shout out to one of our Hoosier childhood treasures. Hope you caught up while we were away!
Before we take a week off, we wanted to take a glance into the world of marketing big, televised events: like the football finale. Between classic icons making an appearance and the different media tactics one takes to get the millennial generation to tune in, it's really interesting to take a step back and analyze our cable subscriptions. Take a listen. Take some thoughts. But don't take our unaffiliated opinions too seriously. ****Please note - We are not sponsored or endorsed by the NFL or any brands/products mentioned in our discussion and they do not endorse or sponsor us. This episode is strictly to point out the marketing ideas that made us laugh, made us cry and made us really think about what goes into the process of creating a "successful" commercial...in our personal opinions.
What sort of criminal would an Aries thrive as? Will Morgan one day own a gold mine? These are curious thoughts indeed as we do a quick dip into February's horoscopes and cat burglars.
The federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour was last raised in July of 2009. Over a decade ago is when it was decided how little money someone could essentially survive on and since then, costs to attend universities have increased at 8x the rate: seemingly to match the increased prices in the housing market as well. How are we supposed to catch up? Were our first jobs only worth the minimum and nothing more? We're about to dig into our lessons and mistakes throughout our work history and what needs to change.
Hobbies are important to develop a sense of individuality and, while we may always wonder where Cotton-Eye Joe came from, we'll always know that we might have been married if not for him. We wanted to tell you about our hobbies and let us know what interesting hobbies you have picked up along the path of life. Alien abductions don't count as a hobby, but we're curious to know about those as well.
What's worse than working in a toxic environment? Not being paid what you're worth by a toxic upper management team. We're stepping on our soap box in this episode about our past and current work experience. From retail to customer service to unpaid internships, we're diving into the toxicity of the workplace. How are we supposed to pay off those student loans if we don't take the bare minimum experience jobs?
Autobiographies, self-help, and true crime books combine to create our TBR’s this year. What’s a TBR? Guess that means you’ll have to listen! Also, it’s Monday. And on Monday, we drink tea….not wine. Find us on Spotify, Anchor.fm, Apple Podcasts, and (now) iHeart Radio Podcasts! Follow us on instagram @millennialmonologuepodcast
Millennial babies are just like human babies, but with lots of fur and a system of barks for communication. That’s right, we’re talking about dogs on Episode 6! Specifically, why “aggressive” breeds and why shelter dogs and purebreds aren’t all that different. As Bob Barker (now Drew Carey…) says, “spay and neuter your pets.” So, would you like to see our family pets scrapbook now or later?

Because of the new year and the new month, let's see what astrological phenomenons are occurring. How else will you know of a possible alien abduction? Maybe your horoscope predicts some tough times ahead? Be prepared to learn a little more about us... or will we learn more about you? What's a squib you say? Google it.
Episode 4 is our best one yet! A measles outbreak? Vaccinations? Getting your wisdom teeth removed? The fashion trends of the decade? What more could you want from a podcast? More questions??? We're excited to share with you our personal stories as well as attempt to settle the great gif debate. Be sure to follow us on Instagram @millennialmonologuepodcast and interact with us on all of our social platforms.
Traditions are just one thing that human civilization has kept alive in order to help define someone's sense of themself. Whether you hit the early breakfast buffet on Christmas morning with your friends or you wait for your extended family to arrive before digging into a giant feast every year, traditions can be kept, changed with the times, and you can always create new ones. Join us on episode 3 of Millennial Monologue as we share our traditions for Christmas and New Years and discuss the many ways you can celebrate the holiday season.
Is being a millennial like picking fresh veggies from your garden? Or is it more like ripping out all of your plants because a participation ribbon is nothing close to the $50 county fair prize that George has won with his tomatoes for the 4th year in a row? Listen to the soothing sounds of our voice as we guide you through the hard truth of participation rewards and living with a perfectionist brain. Episode 2 of Millennial Monologue should feel really relatable as you're realizing that the truth garden sprouts more than information. Happy Friday the 13th (in December)! It's the very first Millennial Monologue Episode! A sweet sixteen to remember, why we shouldn't laugh at adulting classes, and our David's Tea advent calendar (December 1st is Gingerbread Blondie and you can find Day 2 review on our Instagram). This episode was originally in video format so please excuse the visual references. Let us know what you like, what you don't like, and what you want to hear. We'll be focusing our series on living life as a millennial artist and addressing the stereotypes of our generation and small town life. We would love to eventually host other artists as well to dive into the perspective of the opportunities available and how we can thrive in today's society as millennial creators. For now, it's just two long distance friends catching up and leaving procrastination station. Thanks for listening! Be sure to check out our Instagram as well for updates on episodes and our daily millennial monologue stories! Intro music by Jared Lee French Note: David's Tea is not a sponsor for our podcast, we are merely addicted to their amazing flavors. https://www.davidstea.com/us_en/home/
