Today is the first anniversary of President Biden taking office. Yesterday, he held his first formal news conference in months to discuss his administration's accomplishments and progress over the past year. We share our biggest takeaways from the speech that covered COVID to Congress to Afghanistan, and more.  Verizon and AT&T agreed to turn on nationwide 5G service yesterday, except near airports and runways due to ongoing safety concerns from the Federal Aviation Administration. Despite this decision, some flights were canceled yesterday. Sara Nelson, president of the Association of Flight Attendants CWA, joins us to discuss workers' safety concerns. And in headlines: the Supreme Court denied Trump's request to block the release of White House records pertaining to the January 6th insurrection, two abortion-rights advocacy groups threatened to pull support from Senator Kyrsten Sinema for standing in the way of voting rights legislation, and the University of Michigan reached a $490 million settlement with over 1,000 survivors of sexual abuse by one of its former sports doctors. It's another one of those weeks: 5G gives you better reception but possible plane crashes, Biden trusts Trump's Postmaster General to get us our COVID tests, and the Supreme Court blocks a federal mandate to get everyone vaccinated. Plus, the voting rights bill is on its death march. We're at the first anniversary of Biden's presidency. Republicans are licking their chops. Cable news has written Biden's obituary. They're missing one thing - the majority of Americans don't want a Republican anywhere near the White House. The majority want paid family leave, a living wage, free pre-K, free community college, police reform, and a serious fight to save planet Earth. And the majority wants Biden and the Dems to quit dinkin' around and crush the party of the coup. ***** Call the Senate Switchboard at: 202-225-3121 Find out how to contact your Senator here: https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm ***** Be sure to read Michael's latest piece on witnessing the vote on the 1965 Voting Rights Act as a child, as he discusses in this week's episode, and what we can learn from this in the fight for Voting Rights today: https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/iwasthere And be sure to check out his previous piece, "How the Democrats Can Win BIG in 2022", and subscribe to his free Substack newsletter: https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/howtowin2022 ***** Sign-up for Michael Moore's FREE email list at: MichaelMoore.com A full transcript of this episode can be found here: https://rumble.media/category/podcast/transcripts/ ***** Underwriters: 1) Watch National Geographic's latest documentary "The Rescue", from the Academy-Award winning filmmakers behind Free Solo.
