Carrying on from episode 26 I explore the archetype of playing the saviour or the rescuer, why we do this and how we can be there for each other in more helpful ways.
Sometimes we go through life desperately searching for a saviour forgetting that it's ourselves we're searching for. In this episode I share my experience of how I've had to become my own best friend / saviour and what practices have helped get me there.
Last week I jumped on instagram to join Adriana (@artofloving / www.instagram.com/artofloving) for a live discussion on the topics of Decolonisation and its importance and pertinence in the wellness space. Together we explore the negative consequences of colonisation throughout history and how it shows up now, what it means for us and why it is important that we make an effort to encourage and support decolonisation throughout our personal, individual, daily and work lives. I speak through my experience of what brought me to recognise the need to address this ongoing current issue and how we can take action.
After putting it out there and so many of you wanting it, I decided to go ahead...and read a bedtime story from my favourite author: Thich That Hanh. Enjoy
We are facing a very interesting time. This episode explores our reality right now through the lens of energetic concepts of what is really happening and how we can surrender and find peace. We are transitioning into a phase of great transformation. What is this uncovering for all of us? and how can we navigate through it?
It's been a year and I'm back! With a topic that has set heavy in my heart for almost 5 years now. In this episode I delve into the societal pressures and expectations that we associate with age/time. Enjoy!
In this episode I talk about everything from gym culture to how our intentions make the biggest difference with the way we see our bodies and how we can connect to our bodies with movement in a more Loving way.
Why is living in our authenticity one of the greatest things we can do? How do we do it? What does it mean? How are we harming ourselves and others by only putting out what is "Love & Light" chasing the illusion of 'perfect' by not honouring aspects of our entire selves including grief - anger, sadness, fear, including the pain, our wounds. Why do we label emotions such as anger and sadness as bad or wrong??? How can we trace those emotions back to their root wound in order to truly heal? or simply give them acknowledgement to let them pass rather than subconsciously shove them down. How does ignoring our grief turn into raging anger, anxiety and depression? How can we practice and release anger in a healthy way? Why is it so essential that we do so? We need to feel all feelings in order to heal, to learn to grow. We need to listen to all the parts of us including our wounded child in order to truly Love and accept ourselves. Over years of hurt we build barriers blocking out not only pain but also Love. Grief work is key to Self Love and I am so grateful to Donna Lancaster and thebridgeretreat.com for holding space for me always on this journey of healing.
Recently I uploaded a story on instagram all about the rituals of cleansing and protection especially before and after any energy work. A lot of you reached out and had similar experiences. Whether you are a practitioner, healer, therapist, someone who works around people or are sensitive, highly empathetic and is affected easily by energies of people and in our environment, these rituals can be so helpful to you as they have been for me. Especially after falling unwell during the beginning of my Reiki practice due to absorbing so much.
For so long I have been confused with the lack of understanding why we use sexuality in a manipulative way and in the seeking of validation from others. Seeing it all over social media, advertisement, TV, amongst friends, women, etc etc I was starting to question Sexuality and what it looks like to express sexuality from an empowered confident perspective and it was hard to come across such examples. After hours into the late night researching female psychology, I finally found my understanding. So simple, yet so detrimental to the understanding of ourselves, our worth, our wellbeing and our true happiness.
Ep.17 Mindfulness: What does it mean to be fully present in the moment? To be here & now. by with Lana Almulla
Arguments, differences and challenges within any relationship is inevitable. Arguments, differences and challenges are a platform and an opportunity for growth, understanding of one another but most of all of ourselves. So why are we so afraid to share this truth? Why are we so concerned with appearing as the 'happy family photo'? Find out more in this episode "The Fear of Imperfection in Relationships."
Once upon a time, and for a long time, I saw my sensitivity as a total weakness. Absorbing everything and everyone's energies around me leaving me with unwanted emotional pain or sadness. Only after reaching pure apathy was I grateful to be able to feel at all again and then I recognised that this sensitivity is a gift, one that offers great intuition, enabling me to work with people, enabling me to empathise, feeling what others are going through before anything is said, allowing me to then create the space to heal. Growing up an empath made me feel a little alienated and defeated, I had labels thrown at me for being "weak", "too emotional", "so sensitive", "fragile" however, along my journey I have learnt to tune into these tools and use them in a way that is beyond helpful but also with the balance of being able to observe without absorbing, using healthy boundaries and other tools for protection, so that I remain open to insight but protected from anything that is not energetically, emotionally or physically my own. If you were blessed with the gift of sensitivity, now is the time to start embracing it.
My home is my little sanctuary. Everyday I rise to it or come back to it I create the settings to be a space of which I feel I can heal in, recoup in, recharge and want to spend time in. This episode talks about how we can create this space in our homes, in a shared space, a work space, and whilst travelling or without a house. Check it out.
Recently on Instagram @LunarOniyari I shared a major vulnerability post of my experience with acne from my early teens into my early 20's It is safe to say I have been acne free for 8 years now and this is something I have been wanting to post about for too long. Enjoy!
How do we give and receive? Do compliments make us shy away? Do we tend to feel exhausted from giving too much all the time? What does this mean? How does this show us what is going on within us and how can we work to balance this universal flow of giving and receiving.
What are you grateful for? How can the simplicity of gratefulness take us from worrying over our wants and our needs to appreciating our time right here, right now.
Ep.10 Marriage, Kids & Adulthood by with Lana Almulla
" Nothing destroys self-worth, self-acceptance and self-love faster than denying what you feel. Without feelings, you would not know where you are in life. Nor would you know what areas you need to work on. Honor your feelings. Allow yourself to feel them."
We all go through shit days. Days we feel like we want to smash our heads against the wall or pull our hair out. Days where everything just feels manic and mad, chaotic and crazy. Sometimes we can't escape these and most times that's not necessary. This episode delves into how we can DEAL with our shit days. How we can bring ourselves back into balance. How we can reconnect with our inner peace, after expressing our frustrations. Tune in to listen...
How do we play a role in stopping ourselves from achieving our dreams and desires? How can we take the reins again, face our fears and beat through it with Love? How can we get to wherever it is we want to be without feeling overwhelmed? Are we the only ones stopping us?
What is Love? What does it mean to truly live in Love? "To feel Love we must become Love first." What does that mean for so many of us? And what are the ways we can become Love? These are questions I probably never thought about until I one day felt incapable of truly Loving in a relationship. I'd be full of infatuation (mistaken for Love) that quickly dissipated and fell out of 'Love'. Until I realised, and in a relationship, that this Love I was seeking was a Love within me, that the biggest relationship difficulties I was having, was the one with myself. And so my quest for Self Love began. This episode gets a little deep and personal. Tears are shared but vulnerability and Love always rules and heals all. It is so important that we continue to make space for ourselves and each other to be heard. Safe, non judgemental space of pure listening. If you'd like to share your experiences or join the conversation please do get in touch. However way you want to. All my details are up on www.atablefor1.com I Love hearing from you all. And it's only a reminder that we are more human than ever. And on that note. A big Love to you all.
Honouring our menstrual cycle was a practice seen a lot more often in various cultures from Native Americans to Aborigines, Druids and Africans. However along the way, this knowledge and wisdom has been lost to the sands of time and somewhere along the way we have understood that periods are embarrassing, shameful, dirty, an inconvenience. For our partners and ourselves, it can mean the worst thing ever, not being able to understand the fluctuations that occur. This episode talks about all these things and how we can better support ourselves with lifestyle choices to achieve harmony and balance whilst also providing our partners with information to better support us.
This episode delves into the ways in which we can take our health into our own hands, to live a life full of vitality and not just a life absent of disease. With the rise and positive shifts in awareness around health, holistic healing and the rise in information around nutrition, how can we steer away from contradictory information that's leading us to confusion? How can we really tap into ourselves, take in the incredible wealth of information and use it to acknowledge what it is that we need, tailoring our lifestyles specifically to us, understanding that we are all biochemically unique.
This episode explores how we see anger in society today, the reasons why anger is not a negative emotion and how when anger is expressed in healthier ways it serves as a very beneficial emotional release. I also delve into the ways in which we can physically support our bodies during stressful times through proper nutrition. Enjoy!
This episode explores the ways in which we can choose a life that supports us (with Self Love) instead of creating a life we want to escape from (with drugs, alcohol and distractions form Self). I explore the ways in how we can begin to really Love ourselves and how Self Love can be one of the greatest revolutions, especially through hard times.
In this episode I delve into a little bit about my own experiences with anxiety and depression and the tools I was given to embrace what seemed like a neverending pitfall. I explore what it means to embrace life's challenges, how important it is to embrace the dark as well as the light and how it can open us up to life's greatest teachings, bringing us closer to our true purpose and connecting us with all of life.
