Philosopher and bestselling author Alain de Botton invites us to completely rethink what success really means. This profound and therapeutic conversation explores how true high performance isn't about external achievement, but about realising your unique potential and finding peace within yourself.Alain challenges the obsession with being “special,” explaining why accepting our ordinariness can be the most liberating idea of all. He also discusses how envy can reveal our hidden potential, how we lose touch with our true selves by trying to please others, and why moments of crisis or even pain can be the body's search for balance. This is a deeply human exploration of ambition, self-worth, and acceptance, an invitation to define success on your own terms.Heights
A Phil Svitek Podcast - A Series From Your 360 Creative Coach
I make the case that consistency trumps talent — especially in today's fast-paced world.Too many creatives still think it's about making the perfect thing, when in reality, it's about showing up and delivering good work week after week. Sure, everything can always be improved with more time — but for freelancers and creative professionals working on deadlines, that's not a luxury we have. The key is learning to identify what truly matters and deliver quality on schedule. That's how careers are built — not in isolated moments of brilliance, but in sustained, repeatable effort. When it's your own passion project, you can take your time. But when you're working with clients, teams, or audiences, your ability to deliver consistently is what keeps you in the game.
Send Me a Message! In this episode, I talk about the sudden re-emergence of my old foe, the inner critic, and how it's teamed up with my perfectionism to drag me down. Together, they've convinced me that everything I do is sub-standard, fuelling insecurities and setting expectations that aren't reasonable or attainable. The best example of this? This very podcast of course! I've spent hours glued to my computer and microphone, desperately trying to record the “perfect” episode. The result has been exhaustion, frustration, and far fewer episodes released than I'd like. But here's the truth, I reckon the imperfections are what makes this show work, owing to the fact that life isn't perfect. It is riddled with mistakes, missteps, inconsistencies and lost opportunities. Because if I am able to stand by my belief that this podcast is the most honest, raw, vulnerable and fair dinkum show on the internet, the imperfections must be a part of the journey. That's the reality of living with mental illness. And that's what makes The Dysregulated Podcast stand out from the rest.Support the showYou can follow me on Instagram: @elliot.t.waters, and the show on Facebook!

This week on The Go-To Mise en Place, we're joined by the formidable Asimakis Chaniotis—chef-owner of Myrtos and the first Greek chef to earn a Michelin star outside of Greece. From his relentless early years at Pied à Terre, where he rose through the ranks to become executive chef, to the opening of his own restaurant Myrtos in South Kensington, Asimakis shares the raw truth of a life spent chasing perfection. He speaks with searing honesty about what it takes to lead a kitchen at the highest level, why so many restaurants miss the mark on authentic Greek cooking, and the emotional push and pull of balancing tradition with creativity. We dive into his signature dishes—like the unapologetically classic lamb moussaka, whipped taramasalata, and deep-fried hortopita—and the thought process behind every element on the plate. He reflects on the lessons of hard graft, the perils of chef ego, and why consistency starts with knowing your own palate.Asimakis also shares the Greek concept of philoxenia—literally "friend to strangers"—and how this philosophy of generosity and open-hearted hospitality sits at the core of how Myrtos operates. Whether it's through warm service, abundant food, or simply inviting guests to feel like family, philoxenia shapes every detail.Unfiltered, warm, and driven by obsession: this is a chef who lives and breathes the craft. Dr. Tiffany Moon isn't just breaking stereotypes — she's rewriting the script. In this episode, Dr. Tiffany Moon — board-certified anesthesiologist, founder of Aromasthesia, and former cast member of Bravo's Real Housewives — opens up about what it really takes to balance ambition, motherhood, entrepreneurship, and public scrutiny. From immigrating to the U.S. at age 6 to graduating from college at 19 and medical school at 23, where she finished in the top ten percent of her class, to launching a wellness brand rooted in science and self-care, Tiffany's story is as raw and relatable as it is inspiring. We cover: The culture of overachievement and how it can become an emotional cage The silent weight of perfectionism in high-achieving women How childhood trauma shaped her relentless drive and how she's healing from it Why asking for help isn't a weakness — it's a strategy The behind-the-scenes reality of being a doctor and a reality TV personality Why she's choosing presence over perfection in parenting, career, and business Plus: Why even the most “put-together” people struggle with self-worth How Tiffany balances a medical career with being a mother, wife, and founder Why her social media presence is as real as it gets and why that matters Tiffany also shares the surprising impact of being on reality TV, not on her brand, but on her identity, and why she now uses her platform to champion authenticity, self-care, and breaking generational cycles. This is an honest, unfiltered conversation about legacy, self-awareness, and the courage to define success on your own terms. Tiffany Moon, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist, entrepreneur, keynote speaker, mother of twins, and author of Joy Prescriptions: How I Learned to Stop Chasing Perfection and Embrace Connection. In this episode, I reflect on how chasing perfection (and a million other things) can pull us away from what truly matters. You'll hear some candid thoughts on balancing work, personal life, and why I even put out this episode before it's “perfect.” I also dive into some pretty heavy stuff from Dave Hollis' story, sharing his journey through grief, personal challenges, and the public's obsession with the details behind his life after his marriage to Rachel. It's about vulnerability, healing, and realizing that none of us have it all together—and that's okay.
