Thich Nhat Hanh is a luminous soul, the type of soul who radiates goodness and light even when his physical body is no longer present. His book, The Heart of Buddha's Teaching, is not just a book. It's a practice manual for living in good times and bad, allowing us to live in the present moment. These last couple of weeks have not been an easy one for me. At times, the pain has cut so deep that it has touched every cell in my body. But, through luminous souls like Thich, I now have to come to give thanks for the pain. It has deepened my soul, opened new pathways of understanding, and provided fuel to let my light shine.I have so much gratitude that Thich shared his powerful life force through his enlightened teaching of the Buddha. This episode covers the power of Thich Nhat Hanh to transform your suffering into peace, joy, and understanding. I'll also share a lecture of his that calmed me in the middle of the night. Finally, you will learn the health benefits of gratitude (it's not just for John Tesh) and a simple tip to begin your gratitude practice.

Awakened Zen Master Thich Dieu Thien, also known as The Awakened One, is a globally respected spiritual teacher and the founder of Universal Door Meditation Center in Sugar Land, near Houston, TX. From a young age, she knew she did not belong to the human world of constant conflicts and duality, and longed to return to what she calls the Awakened Home, free from suffering, rooted in truth, love, and clarity. She became a Buddhist nun at 18 and explored countless teachings and methods, but none of that helped her return to Awakened Home. In April 2001, she fully awakened in Thailand, returning to the boundless wisdom and compassion of the Awakened Source, and completely shattering the source of the ego system. Since that moment, she has devoted her life to helping people of all backgrounds awaken their true nature. Her teachings are spontaneous, deeply relevant, and transformative, guiding others to return to the Unborn mind, the source of lasting happiness and freedom. https://universaldoormeditationcenter.orgFor more show information visit: www.MariannePestana.com

In June 1963, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk died after setting himself on fire in protest against the Catholic South Vietnamese government.Malcolm Brown's photograph of Thich Quang Duc's burning body became one of the most famous images of the 20th century. Sister Chan Khong witnessed the protest. She spoke to Lucy Burns in 2013.Some listeners may find this programme disturbing.Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive. Witness History is for those fascinated by the past. We take you to the events that have shaped our world through the eyes of the people who were there. For nine minutes every day, we take you back in time and all over the world, to examine wars, coups, scientific discoveries, cultural moments and much more. Recent episodes explore everything from football in Brazil, the history of the ‘Indian Titanic' and the invention of air fryers, to Public Enemy's Fight The Power, subway art and the political crisis in Georgia. We look at the lives of some of the most famous leaders, artists, scientists and personalities in history, including: visionary architect Antoni Gaudi and the design of the Sagrada Familia; Michael Jordan and his bespoke Nike trainers; Princess Diana at the Taj Mahal; and Görel Hanser, manager of legendary Swedish pop band Abba on the influence they've had on the music industry. You can learn all about fascinating and surprising stories, such as the time an Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes at the President of the United States in protest of America's occupation of Iraq; the creation of the Hollywood commercial that changed advertising forever; and the ascent of the first Aboriginal MP.(Photo: Sister Chang Khong. Wow, just finished my morning reading and came across two powerful pages from Thich Nhan Hanh's book, The Heart of Buddha's Teaching. In this episode, we'll cover Thich's definitions of "suffering", "mindfulness", and the two kinds of mediations that Thich suggests. Thich's work is mind blowing. I hope you have the chance to read his work and to share it with others.

Deep Listening is one of the greatest gifts that you can give or receive. This episode is about the art of Deep Listening. This morning, I read Thich Nhat Hanh's book The Heart of Buddha's Teaching and learned about the concept of Deep Listening. Whoa this is something that we rarely do well, but when we do, it has the power to transform us in all sorts of different ways. In this episode, I discuss the concept of Deep Listening, how to do it, and what it will do for you. I'll also introduce you to the great listener, Kwan Yin and share some awesome passages from the work of Thich. We can't always control whether others will listen to us, but we can control whether we can listen. Listening is the first step to Deep Understanding, healing, and transformation. This was probably one of my favorite episodes so far! Deep gratitude to all of you for listening in.

You have arrived home. ‘Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet' says Thich. We have caused a lot of damage to the earth. Now is time to walk home with love. It is only possible if we do not constantly think of the future or the past. Life can only be found in the present moment.

You've always been Water. You were Water before you waved, and you'll be water after you wave. You came from God and you will return to God, and all while you're here, you are God. You are Love. And so you are just chanting your real Name, you're feeling your real Self, the Resonance. The Essence. Home. "You came from Love You will return to Love And all while you're (appearing) here, you are Love." I Love You I Am You nik p.s. as for the title question- does it work? It works perfectly to reveal what you already are. "Always chant Hare Krishna mantra, be in touch with Krishna in so many ways, then you are secure. Maya will not be able to touch you and if we can someway or other pass our days, and at the time of death, if we remember Krishna, then the whole life is successful." - Srila Pranhupada "Meaning is made up in human minds, sound is the essence of creation" - Sadhguru "According to Thich hat Hanh, we are meant to be water: "It's like a wave on the surface of the ocean She may be very fearful because she gets caught in notions Like, beginning, ending, going up, going down More or less beautiful than the other waves But if the wave is aware that she is water And then, she loses all this kind of fear Going up she is joyful Going down she is joyful Because she knows that she is water She is not only a wave. She is also water. So water represents the ultimate water represents god water represents Nirvana" - Thich Nhat Hanh I am not only a wave l am water" - Regina Brown "If something has been written for you, you're going to walk right into it on the path you think you've taken to avoid it." - @brokenpearl via IG "The material world is a house of correction meant to reform my tendency to remain absent in our relationship. Hvad har zen at lære os her i et vestligt moderne samfund? En hel del, viser det sig, og her taler jeg med Frank Poulsen - zenlærer og ejer af Zenbusiness - om, hvordan zenbuddhisme og især Thich Nhat Hanhs budskaber, kan hjælpe os i en svær tid. How are you feeling about the food you eat lately? What about the people you eat with? Are you thinking about how wonderful good food tastes or are you in a hurry going nowhere all the time? Today's episode is inspired by an excerpt from Thich Nhat Hanh's book, Peace is Every Step. "Eating a meal in mindfulness is an important practice." Take a good look at what you are feeding your body, your precious temple - that only you control. You are in control of what you eat , how you eat and where you eat. Thich says, " Food reveals our connection with the earth. Each bite contains the life of the sun and the earth. The extent to which our food reveals itself depends on us. " Remind yourself to practice mindful eating, just build upon the idea one day at a time. And take the opportunity, when you are able to share a meal with a friend or family member, to build their spirits up, remind them that you can see the good in them when they are feeling deflated. You deserve to live a Healthy Lifestyle and it will lead you to live a more Inspired Life! #mindfulness #habits #food Find out more about Flourish at the links below: ➡️ https://www.Flourish.Mom ➡️ Facebook https://www.Facebook.Com/Flourish.Mom ➡️ Twitter: https://www.Twitter.Com/FlourishMom ➡️ Instagram: https://www.Instagram.com/FlourishMom ➡️ Pinterest: https://www.Pinterest.ca/WowFlourishMom ➡️ Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/lTpWKfoqjq4
