‘James finished our series on the Lord's Prayer with a cry of ‘Amen; Let it be so!' He invites us to participate in being a people of prayer as we celebrate what God has done over the last 50 years and pray into what He will do next.'

‘Jesus instructs the disciples to pray, ‘Deliver us from evil'. In this sermon, Dayo teaches into Jesus' defeat of Satan, and how we can use the tools that God has given us to withstand evil. We can pray with confidence knowing we can put on the whole armour of God.

'Jesus teaches us to pray 'Lead us not into temptation'. This poses the question of does God lead us into temptation or does He help us in moments of temptation? Cynthia unpacks in our Sidcup 9am meeting what it means to join in this prayer and how we can resist temptation when it comes.

'Forgive us our sins... as we forgive those who sin against us'. Jesus teaches that there is a clear link between the forgiveness we receive and the forgiveness we give to others. James unpacks the priority of forgiveness in our Eltham meeting as we continue to our 'Teach us to Pray' series.

Our debt has been paid and our sins forgiven because of the death of Jesus. Today we look at the power of praying “Forgive us our sins”. We look at how we wandered and trespassed and how God brings us home.

'After starting the Lord's Prayer with a declaration of who God is and submitting to His will, Jesus turns to our first request: 'Give us this day our daily bread'. Dave carries on our 'Teach us to Pray' series by helping us think through how we can depend on God daily in prayer'.

Jesus followed 'Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name', with an ask: 'Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is heaven'. Yemi continued our 'Teach us to Pray' series looking at what learning to pray this radical prayer means. It is a prayer for God's eternal kingdom to come, for the reconciliation of all things, and for God's eternal plan to come good in the world around us.

The disciples once came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, Teach us to Pray'. What followed was Jesus giving us the Lord's Prayer. James starts a new series on the Lord's Prayer as we begin 2026 as we join the disciples in asking ‘Lord, Teach us to Pray'.

Living Faithfully, Slowly, and Intentionally in a City of Change

Our God is the God of the Seasons. While our lives change through different seasons, he remains the constant, covenant making God. Which season are you in? Which season is our congregations in?

Looking at examples from Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and throughout history, Dayo calls us to consider the importance and priority of prayer as we enter this New Year.

This One Church Christmas Celebration message sees James unpack the eternal theme of the Christmas story with a spoken word preach - it's short but it's packed with magnificent truth!

Last Sunday, at our fabulous carol services, we focused on the topic of the joy in the Christmas story and how we can know this in everyday life.

Last week, we had three different people speaking at each meeting on the topic of Advent; they spoke on themes of waiting, repentance and proclamation.

For our One Church Celebration last Sunday, James preached on how God's blessings are intended to create people with an outward-oriented, missional impulse (Gen.12:1-3). This Psalm includes the Aaronic blessing (Num.6:22-27) but attaches a purpose clause to it (Ps.67:2) that forms a prayer for evangelistic success to the ends of the earth.

Last Sunday, Nick preached on Jonah 4, exploring the scandal of God's mercy and how it challenges our sense of who deserves compassion. Jonah's reaction exposes our tendency to limit grace, while God's sovereignty invites us to live with open-handed mercy and faithful obedience.

Last Sunday, Siji continued our series in Jonah as we looked at Jonah 3:1–10 - Jonah's second chance, his five-word warning, and Nineveh's remarkable repentance. We explored how prophecy offers both warning and invitation, how God's sovereignty strengthens our mission, and why His mercy is reliable but never something to presume upon. This moment in Jonah points forward to God's wider mission in Christ, extending grace to all nations.

Tom Head from East End Church encourages to Finish Well … that God Knows us, He “gets” us, and that our past no longer defines us.

Using the early chapters of the Moses story, Tom Head from East End Church preaches of the “difficulties” of this life, how God uses the “disregarded” to build his kingdom and of how we have an ultimate “deliverer” from our slavery.

Last Sunday, Nemi unpacked Jonah's dramatic rescue - a runaway prophet who deserves judgement but is met with mercy through a big fish. In the depths, Jonah's Psalm-shaped prayer reveals God's grace and points us to the Gospel and the God who draws us back to Himself.

Last Sunday, Nick launched our Jonah series by exploring what happens when we choose our ways over God's ways. Jonah runs from God's call, yet God pursues him with mercy. This message looks at why we run, how God uses crisis to draw us back, and how Jonah points us to Jesus, our true rescuer.

Last Sunday we had Try Church Sunday and looked at Jesus' invitation in Matthew 11:28–30 to come to Him and find real rest for our souls. When life feels heavy, He offers peace, purpose, and freedom.

A Time To Build, from 1 Chronicles 28, is a call to rise up with courage, trust God's plan, and step into His purpose for your life.

On Sunday, Reuben spoke about the multiplication of meetings and the call to step out in faith. Along with the message, we hear from a few people who serve in church as they share what they're most excited about in this new season of growth.

Redigging the Well: Worship Part 3 Worship has always been central to God's people, from the songs of Israel to the praises of the early church. In this sermon we explore why charismatic, corporate worship is part of New Community's DNA, how it shapes us as individuals and as the Body, and why it's a vital reason behind our call to multiply. Rooted in Scripture and our story—from the Charismatic Renewal to today—we reflect on the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the blessings of worshipping together, and how Paul challenges consumeristic views of faith.

Redigging the Well: Worship Part 1 This is a big picture overview of why we worship. It's based on who God is and also as a response to what He has done. It's also the beginning and end goal of humanity - intimacy with God. As a result, it's also an invitation into greater intimacy with God that requires us to humble ourselves and say that we aren't the God of our lives. However, the blessing of this is that as we draw near to Him, He promises to draw near to us.

Victoria continues the Gospel x Disney Series with Encanto, showing how the divided family finds healing when they accept each other's differences and work together in love. She links this to the Gospel: though we were sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8), and now we're being built together to grow and support one another, each playing a part in the body of Christ.

Redigging the Well: Worship Part 2 Last Sunday, Joe continued our Worship series, exploring Corporate Worship Pt 1 — how the Spirit gives us gifts to share so that together we can build one another up and point to Jesus. Worship isn't something we do alone, but something we get to experience as family.

On Sunday, Henry continued our Gospel x Disney Series, focusing on Toy Story. He speaks about how Woody's loyalty to Andy shows us a glimpse of Jesus' faithfulness. He calls us friends, never abandons us, and laid down His life so we could be with Him forever.

Last Sunday, Tim continued our Gospel x Disney Series, focusing on the Lion King. Like Simba, who runs from his calling but is ultimately restored, we often stray from God. Yet, through Christ, our true King, we are welcomed back into our rightful place in God's family.
