Pastor Chip Freed, "40 Days of Prayer - The Pattern of Prayer: Oh My Abba, Hallowed Be Your Name" (Psalm 103:1-2, 8-13)
What if prayer is more than words—it's where heaven meets earth? When we pray, “Our Father in heaven,” we step into intimacy with God, bold access to His throne, and a calling to carry His heart and intention into the world around us.
Sermon Replay | Hallowed Be Your NameMatthew 6:9, Exodus 20:7Sermon by Pastor Mark HuntIn this message from our "Teach Us to Pray" series, we consider the first request of the Lord's Prayer and its meaning for everyday faith. To “hallow” God's name is to honor and set Him apart above every personal desire, recognizing His holiness in both word and life.Prayer, then, becomes more than words. It becomes a way of living that honors God privately and publicly as we represent Him to the world.#UnionChurchofGuatemala #UCG #SermonReplay #InternationalChurch #SoliDeoGloria

Continuing our new series “Pray Like This” walking through THE LORD'S PRAYER, Pastor Kuulei takes a deeper dive into the second line, “Hallowed by Your Name.” It is probably the line that is most glossed over and least thought of, but what does it really mean, and what is the significance of hallowing God's name?Key Scriptures:Matthew 6:9, Psalm 34:1-3, Psalm 103:1-5, Psalm145:1-7, Daniel 4:37, Luke 1:46-47; 49, Isaiah 64:6, Psalm 86:15
Acts 4:23-31 | What is our greatest need to be a faithful gospel witness? What is our greatest hurdle to a life of faithfully sharing Christ with the lost? It isn't more training. It is more boldness. In Acts 4 we see the church gather in the face of threats to ask the Lord not for more safety, or more training, but to ask for more boldness. This Sunday, as the final sermon in our prayer series and the final session of our Sent Conference, we will look at the prayer, the power, and the perseverance of prayer-fueled witness.
Jon introduces our new talk series, Teach Us To Pray, where we'll be using The Lord's Prayer to become kingdom people, bringing our inner and outer worlds into sync with God's wills and ways. In this first talk, Jon shows us that God is both close and intimate (“Father”) and exalted beyond comprehension (“in heaven”). Prayer begins with a relationship rather than a request, a relationship that is both close and beyond.
In this challenging continuation of our series on the Gospel of Matthew, Pastor Karl unpacks Matthew 6, where Jesus lays out His expectations for true disciples in the Sermon on the Mount.Building on the heart-revealing demands of chapter 5, Jesus shifts the focus from mere external obedience to the hidden motives behind our spiritual lives. He addresses three key disciplines—giving, praying, and fasting—assuming His followers already practice them regularly, not for human applause but as genuine devotion to God.With piercing clarity, Jesus warns against hypocritical “performance” that craves the praise of people, declaring that such motives forfeit any reward from the Father. Instead, He calls disciples to secret, sincere acts of worship done unto God alone, promising that the Father who sees in secret will reward what is hidden from human eyes.Pastor Karl highlights the revolutionary big idea: Jesus calls us from performance in the presence of people to authentic presence with God. He then explores the Lord's model prayer as a pattern of adoration, submission, dependence, confession, and protection—emphasizing especially the vital link between receiving God's forgiveness and extending it to others. The message culminates in Jesus' stark command not to store up earthly treasures that moth, rust, and thieves destroy, but to invest generously in heavenly treasures that last forever. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also—revealing that generosity isn't primarily about raising money for God's kingdom, but about God raising children who trust and resemble their generous Father.A convicting yet grace-filled call to examine our motives, reorder our loves, and realign our lives as authentic disciples of Jesus—moving from religious show to wholehearted devotion that finds its reward in God Himself.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm
Various Passages in Acts | The old adage goes, "The family that prays together, stays together." It's true for church families as well: The church that prays together, stays together. There is unity, fellowship, joy, and missional oneness that comes as we devote ourselves to prayer together. We will take a walk through the book of Acts to look at the times the church gathered for prayer together and the circumstances that drove them to corporate prayer. This must deepen our own convictions for the priority of corporate prayer.
Matthew 6:5-13 | E.M. Bounds in his classic, Power Through Prayer, notes that prayer is great spiritual work, and our flesh opposes great spiritual work. This is so true. We long to lean into this great spiritual work in a deeper way because we know there is a depth of communion, transformation, and enjoyment with the Lord as our prayer life with Him deepens. This Sunday we turn to Jesus' teaching on prayer in the Sermon on the Mount to prepare us for a deeper prayer life in 2026.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 God is perfectly holy. When Jesus teaches us to pray, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,” he is teaching us to pray that we, and all who are around us, will see God's glory and holiness. Nearly every day, 50 or more students enter the Interfaith Centre at Medicine Hat College, where I work as a chaplain. They come from dozens of countries and from many religious backgrounds, or none at all. They come for free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and snacks. They come for a quiet place to sit, rest, or study. They come for friendship and fellowship. Sometimes they even come to see me! My prayer for our campus ministry is simply this: “Father in heaven, hallowed be your name! In every visit to the Interfaith Centre and in every interaction with the campus minister, may your name be hallowed. May your glory be seen as clearly as Isaiah saw it so many years ago!” The apostle Paul wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). These words apply to every one of us who follows Jesus. So we need to ask, “Who and what do people see and experience when they come into my presence or our presence?” And by God's grace, may people see the glory of the King living in us. Lord God, hallowed be your name. As the people around us get to know us, may they see your glory shine through us in all we think, say, and do. In our lives, Lord, be glorified today! For Jesus' sake, Amen.
Visiting speaker, Rev Dr Graham Shearer thinks about the 5 'w's of the Lord's Prayer. Isaiah 6 vs 1 - 8; Matthew 6 vs 5 - 18
Jesus' disciples observed the vibrant and connected life with God that Jesus lived, a life clearly fueled by his times spent in prayer. Inspired by what they witnessed, they asked, "Lord, teach us to pray." What we now call the Lord's Prayer was Jesus' response, offered as a template for prayer to his first disciples. Perhaps you learned the Lord's Prayer in your youth, or perhaps you've prayed it occasionally before a sporting event, or maybe you have no prior experience with prayer at all. Regardless, this series aims to guide you in cultivating a life with God through the practice of prayer.

This week we explore the phrase “Hallowed be your name." We reflect on how God, who can seem mysterious and far, is deeply near to us like a loving parent. Drawing from Martin Luther's teachings and scripture, we consider how God's name becomes This message is brought to us by Pastoral Intern Aaron Schutte. Our Scripture is from Exodus Chapter 3, verses 1 - 15.
