What if moving to a new town could be the perfect opportunity to start over—not just personally, but professionally? That's exactly what Courtney Welch, founder of Champion Speech Therapy in North Port, Florida, did when she decided to take control of her career and open her own private practice.Courtney is a speech-language pathologist and owner of Champion Speech Therapy, she has been in the field for 9 years and nearly 2 years as a private practitioner. She specializes in adult rehabilitation, including clients with Parkinson's disease, aphasia, swallowing disorders, and head and neck cancer recovery. Her approach combines evidence-based treatment with compassion and accessibility, serving a population often overlooked in outpatient rehab.Courtney always thought she'd be a teacher, but while working at a retirement community during college, she discovered her love for the older population and found her true calling in speech-language pathology. After years in skilled nursing and hospital-based outpatient care, multiple moves forced her to start over again and again—until she began to feel exhausted from jobs that limited her time off and schedule. That's when she found the Private Practice Bootcamp and later the Start Your Private Practice Program, deciding it was time to build something of her own.In this episode, Courtney shares everything starting from when she launched Champion Speech Therapy, she had no local connections. But she quickly realized her small town lacked any outpatient speech therapy services—making her the perfect person to fill that gap. With determination and a stack of flyers, she introduced herself to local doctors, OTs, PTs, and home health agencies. Within one week, she landed her first five referrals—proof that her leap of faith was exactly what her community needed. In Today's Episode, We Discuss:The moment she realized she couldn't take “one more job” working for someone elseWhat it's like starting a practice in a brand-new communityHow she found her first clients with simple grassroots marketingWhy she loves serving adults with Parkinson's, aphasia, and cancer rehabHer journey from 100% mobile therapy to a co-working office spaceCourtney's story proves that you don't need a marketing degree, a big city, or years of business experience to succeed—you just need the courage to start. By combining persistence, compassion, and a willingness to learn, she built a thriving private practice from the ground up in a brand-new town.Ready to take control of your career and start your own private practice—just like Courtney did? The two New Testament epistles ascribed to the Apostle Peter are lesser known by most Christians than the Epistles of the Apostle Paul. Some scholars believe that First Peter may have been written to young Christians and may have even served as a 'catechism' for those about to be water baptised. In this episode, we look at how Peter presents God as Father, Son, and Spirit, and how Christianity commences with becoming 'born again'. But this is not where Christianity ends - and that aged Apostle Peter gives instructions on how a new believer is to grow in the faith by exploring what the knowledge of God and HIs grace requires. In this episode we explore how the Apostle Peter told these new believers that they no longer belonged to their old way of life and its ways - despite the ridicule they all received from their former friends. Instead, they now belonged to a community of care, love and belonging. There is a very practical implication for us today as to how we are to live as believers and as a local church.
ShownotesDo you ever feel disconnected in grief? While the world moves on, those of us in grief are still trying to find our way. And yet, those of us who grieve, have a common understanding. We belong to a club no-one signs up for but we can empathize with each other. In this week's episode, Andrea spends time with guest, Lindsay Machnik, to talk about the importance of community, especially in those early times of loss. After unexpectedly losing her husband, Lindsay was searching for a community that wasn't only about grief but also one that understood grief from a Catholic perspective. As a result of her search, she found the Mourning Glory Podcast and thus, the Mourning Glory Community on Mighty Networks was born. Tune in to learn more about Lindsay's story and our new private community where you can find comfort and support on your own journey.Online community linkhttps://mourning-glory.mn.co/Prayer for the soul of Lindsay's husband, Sean Machnik.Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him/Her O Lord, and let the perpetual Light shine upon her, may he rest in peace. After 33 years of redefining retail, Anthropologie has mastered creating stores that serve communities rather than just selling to them. Mindy Massey, who oversees stores across North America and the UK after 26 years with the brand, reveals how they've shifted from conversion to connection—empowering 10,000+ employees as community curators while maintaining authentic relationships at scale. Her insights offer a masterclass in why this approach matters more than ever as younger generations reshape retail expectations. The Multi-Gen EffectKey takeaways:Amplification over transformation: Anthropologie didn't reinvent their service strategy—they amplified 33 years of authentic relationship-building with better tools and deeper community integration. "I would say more than transformation. It's been like amplification... Our service strategy has always been built on a foundation of genuine connection." - Mindy [02:52]Wide lanes, strong guardrails: Success requires high accountability and clear brand standards while giving local teams wide creative latitude to serve their specific communities. "We do provide guardrails. But the lanes are kind of wide open for a localized approach." - Mindy [06:41]Authenticity drives KPIs, not vice versa: The brand prioritizes genuine relationships over metrics, trusting that real connections naturally generate better business outcomes. "The authenticity of the relationships is what drives the KPIs versus the KPIs driving the relationships." - Mindy [09:26]Ordinary to extraordinary: Every element, from yarn window displays to finance team creativity, embraces the philosophy of transforming simple materials into unexpected beauty. "So much of our heritage is steeped in making the ordinary extraordinary. You find something really simple and you make it super innovative." - Mindy [13:36]In-Show Mentions:Tricia Smith (CEO, Anthropologie)Rockefeller Center store holiday displayAssociated Links:Learn more about EndearCheck out Future Commerce on YouTubeCheck out Future Commerce+ for exclusive content and save on merch and printSubscribe to Insiders and The Senses to read more about what we are witnessing in the commerce worldListen to our other episodes of Future CommerceHave any questions or comments about the show? There's no one section where Jesus lays out how a relationship with him radically changes our human relationships and forms a new, deep, radical human community in Christ. It's not in one place — it's all throughout the Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon on the Mount is really a description of a new kind of community. What does Jesus teach us about this radical new community that is formed by his gospel message? When it comes into your life, how does it create this new community between those who believe in Jesus? Jesus teaches us four things: 1) the necessity of this new community, 2) the intensity of this new community, 3) the symmetry of this new community, and 4) the causality of this new community. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on May 16, 1999. Series: The Mount; Life in the Kingdom. Scripture: Matthew 5:21-24, 45-48; 7:1-6. Today's podcast is brought to you by Gospel in Life, the site for all sermons, books, study guides and resources from Timothy Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian Church. If you've enjoyed listening to this podcast and would like to support the ongoing efforts of this ministry, you can do so by visiting https://gospelinlife.com/give and making a one-time or recurring donation.

As members of the new covenant, Christians can enter God's presence with full assurance through faith in Jesus Christ, and they have a hope that is as sure as God's faithful character. But these privileges are not private blessings for isolated individuals. In this message from David Platt from Hebrews 10:19–25, we'll see privilege and responsibility we have to gather regularly with the church and encourage our fellow members to press on in following Christ. As a community of faith, we are to stir up one another to love in good works, particularly as the day of Christ's return draws near. Explore more content from Radical.
