This passage is completely applicable to all of our lives. If it is not applicable right this moment, just give life some time, and it will present an opportunity which will allow you to put it to use. The key motivation needed to utilize this passage is a desire to glorify God with your life. Very simply, if you seek to glorify Him, then you will choose to do good to others even when you do not want to because you ultimately want to glorify God over glorifying your flesh. To God be the glory. _________________________ Listen to more episodes! Apple Podcasts Castos Spotify Contact us! bremmermanp@yahoo.com

Alcohol and other substances that compromise our sobriety are prevalent in the world today. But, if you are a Christian, then you must ask yourself the question, “Should Christians stay sober?” Thankfully the Bible gives us clear direction, and that direction will be exactly what we discuss in this episode. I venture to say that very few of us desire to live in constant need. If you are like me, you desire to live an abundant life and continually seek information and opportunities to make sure you have enough of what you need. The apostle Paul and the missionaries write four commands to the Thessalonians in our text today with the promised result of obedience as "so that you will not be in need." After listening, I believe you will agree that obeying these commands will help ensure our life has an abundance of the things that God wants us to have. Follow us on Social Media! At minimum, you should walk away with a weighty understanding of just how dangerous sexual immorality is to you and your relationship with God.
Are you willing to undergo a heart-check? If so, you will experience one through taking a careful look at 1 Thessalonians 3:6-13. Seeing and understanding the heart, passion, and action that Paul and the missionaries engaged in for this group of young Christians has challenged my pursuit for Christ in the arena of loving and serving others. I believe that our having a heart for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of fellow Christians will lead to a passion, and that our passion will lead to meaningful actions for their benefit. Questions for reflection: Based upon the examples of Paul and the missionaries… How healthy is your heart for new believers compared to the evidenced hearts of the missionaries? When is the last time you prayed to God for someone else by name? What steps do you need to take to better prepare yourself to spiritually help fellow believers? _______________________________________________________________________________________ Follow us on Social Media! Little explanation is needed when you picture a mother and her infant. The love of a mother runs deep, and that love drives her to provide exceptional care for the young child. Do we have this deep care and loving mindset as we set out to share the love of Jesus with others every day? If not, can you imagine the positive change that is possible by adopting such a mindset and posture. An appropriate mindset is critical for success, and the arena of evangelism is no exception. 1 Thessalonians 2:5-8 instructs believers on the appropriate personal mindset and posture for sharing the Gospel. You will hear four specific and practical characteristics to adopt for your personal evangelism efforts today. As a bonus, I am joined by Bro. Clay Tankersly to discuss this beautiful text. He is the Student Pastor at Crossroads Baptist Church in Hayden, Alabama. I am confident that you will be blessed by the podcast and better equipped to share the love of Christ with confidence. The human desire to please others is seemingly innate. One time when I was working in surgery, a new surgeon called in an old experienced surgeon who trained him to evaluate a difficult portion of a surgery. The old surgeon came into the room, and the young surgeon explained the situation and why he had asked him to come in and look. After the old surgeon left the room, the young surgeon asked the following question to his assistant, “Do you think that he was happy with the work that I did and the decisions I made for this operation?” He wanted to know if the old trainer was pleased with the work of his trainee. He ultimately wanted to please his esteemed mentor who had approved him to become a surgeon. You have likely experienced pleasing or wanting to please someone in your life. My question to you is, “Do you desire to please God?” If you believe in Jesus and have been forgiven of your sinfulness, then you should have a driving desire to please God with your life of second chance. If you desire to please God, then you will want to listen to today’s episode titled, “One way to please God.” Follow us on Social Media! A quick listen to learn more about our motivation and purpose.
1 Thessalonians 1:4-6 is a beautiful and encouraging text for Christ followers. Tim and I discuss these three verses of Scripture and focus in on the reasons that the Apostle Paul and the missionaries knew that the recipients of this letter were God’s choice (V3). If you are a Christian today, you can look at these observable evidences in the Thessalonians which are produced by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within them and evaluate your own standing with God. The work of God in the lives if the Thessalonians was undeniable. The work of God within believers today should also be undeniable. I believe these verses can aid in the forging of our faith and love for God. I also believe these verses can be used by God to help a skeptic or unbeliever to see Hos power and work of salvation. Yes, we definitely should thank God for the salvation of others! We should thank God for every believer around us today. We should thank God for our own salvation too. God does the work! God gives salvation to those who believe in Jesus. Our response to that truth should be thankfulness, and we should express that thankfulness to Him in prayer every day. Join us as we look at how the missionaries model this same thankfulness for the new Christians in Thessalonica in 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3! Christians have a responsibility to position young believers to be successful. This is especially true in the time immediately following their believing and confessing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. 1 Thessalonians 2:17-18 serves as an example for us in following up with those we share the Gospel with and positioning them to be successful. This episode includes 7 simple and effective applications to help you in following-up with Christians who are outside of your geographical reach or contraindicated to engage in personal disciple-making: Connect them with a trusted disciple-maker Discuss the importance of daily Bible study and memorization with them Encourage them to read daily Inquire about their attending a local church Guide them to a local church with sound doctrinal teaching Exchange personal phone numbers for questions or guidance Pray and communicate that you are praying for them I pray that you are more confident with evangelism follow-up after listening to this episode and series.
We continue this week with Evangelism Follow-up: Week 2 - Make Disciples. Listen this week as I discuss one element of the Great Commission—“Teaching them.” In response to Jesus' command for His followers to teach others what He has taught them, I provide 5 simple steps that you can employ and begin teaching the commands of Christ and making disciples today.
I have a conviction about following-up with those who we share the Gospel with. Since the Pathway to Evangelism series is complete, now is the perfect time to discuss how to practically engage with those individuals who have heard the Gospel. This week centers upon prayer. We look to Philippians 1:3-11 for a guide in this series. We hope you will be better equipped to follow-up on Gospel conversations after listening to this podcast.
You have prayed for an opportunity, you have initiated the conversation, you have made a spiritual transition in the conversation, and now you are ready to share the Gospel. But, what exactly is the Gospel? Which parts do I need to communicate? What do they need to do with the information that I communicate? How do I conclude the encounter? We seek to answer all these questions in today’s podcast titled: Step-4: Share the Gospel on the Pathway to Evangelism.
This podcast details Step 3: Spiritual Transition in the Pathway to Evangelism. You will learn the importance of this step to sharing the Gospel in conversation. Also, I provide two of the questions which I use in personal evangelism to help make this transition. Along with the questions, I discuss some potential responses and encourage you to be ready to share the Gospel if you take Step 3. As always, I pray that this episode will strengthen and encourage you to share Jesus with someone today.
Sharing the Gospel in conversation is a process. This premise drives the Pathway to Evangelism 4-Step series. Last week we discussed Step1:Prayer. This week we continue in the series with Step-2: Engage in Conversation. The podcast begins with me telling when I realized that someone may need some help with this step. Not everyone is great with conversation, and many people are uncomfortable with spontaneous conversation with someone which they have never met. However, we cannot allow a current deficit to paralyze our efforts to share the Gospel. Notice that I used “current” because you can overcome and improve in this area. The rest of the podcast contains several Scriptures to support our need to engage others in conversation and know their names. I read these verses and highlight how the Bible shows the importance of us engaging others. Lastly, I discuss how we will work together and support one another this week in the Facebook group. We will all have a goal to engage at least one new person each day this week in conversation. At minimum, you will introduce yourself, learn their name, express your excitement to meet them, and then comment their name or a “thumbs-up” in the daily reminder post. As always, the goal is to share the Gospel, but success in Step-2 of the Pathway to Evangelism will require that we start each day by praying for God’s strengthening and guidance and then engage one new person in conversation. As always, I pray that you are helped in your personal evangelism growth.
Sometimes we get the cart before the horse. Unfortunately, I make this mistake often. When it comes to evangelism, we must remember to always pray first. Today's episode discusses my failure to begin the Red Word Exchange Facebook group Evangelism Challenge with a week of prayer instead of going straight into action. Beyond the challenge, Christians should begin everyday with prayer to God for strength and an opportunity to share the Gospel. This episode also contains a devotion on 1 Samuel 30:1-8. David sets a superior example to pray first during a situation where immediate action would have been everyone's first thought. I hope you are helped by today's podcast. Also, I hope you join our group and begin the pathway to evangelism with us today.
Our testimony does not provide salvation to an unbeliever. However, our testimony can be a powerful element in playing our part in God's salvation plan for an unbeliever. In this episode, I define what a testimony is; highlight the importance of a concise testimony; challenge you to write a 120-word personal testimony; share my 120-word testimony; and invite you to join me in the evangelism challenge this week in the Red Word Exchange Facebook group.
"I have no one to share the Gospel with!" If you have ever said this sentence or had a similar thought, this podcast episode is for you. You will learn a simple and practical way to grow your current mission field and have more opportunities to tell others about Jesus.
Do you fear sharing the Gospel with an atheist? This situation can be challenging and create some anxiety. Today's episode features an ex-atheist who shares his personal testimony of coming to faith in Christ and provides some unique insights for evangelizing those without faith in God. I know that you will be encouraged and better equipped for your next Gospel exchange after listening to this episode.
Today you will hear two stories of the Gospel being shared. The first declines an opportunity to pray and trust in Christ. The second says, "Yes!" to Jesus. As a bonus, Brad will share a discipleship encounter and discuss the importance of the role of disciple-making for Christians. The key evangelism takeaways from this episode are to ask more questions about a person's baptism and the salvation experience which should have occurred prior to it. And ask a person who has not professed Christ as Lord and Savior, "Are you ready to start your relationship with Jesus?" Check out more episodes and our blog at www.redwordexchange.com
We often consider ourselves failures when we do not achieve a desired outcome. Considering yourself a failure produces at least two problems. One, your failure can paralyze you from pursuing your goals again. Two, you could have had a misaligned measure of success and actually have succeeded in the endeavor. I seek to help you avoid both of these problems in today's episode. You will hear a story which details a recent "failure" in attempting to share the gospel with a gentleman during a house clean-out. Along with the story, we discuss some positive attributes of the encounter even though the Gospel was not shared as intended. I hope you are encouraged by today's podcast and avoid the problems of considering your attempts to share the Gospel as failures.
Today's show discusses a trip to the doctor to evaluate a potential wrist break. Thankfully, my wrist was not broken, but I was in need of some therapy to help with healing. During my time in the clinic, I experienced a great discussion about church with one therapist and about how the other therapist began her relationship with Jesus Christ. Through this encounter you will learn the importance of going deeper in your spiritual conversations with others.
Life is funny sometimes. Do we ever really know how something will turn out in the end? In this first episode, an attempt to share the Gospel with some junior high boys during a pick-basketball game ends with a trip to the ER. You will learn the importance of investing, listening, and sharing with others as you seek to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.
