As Valentine's Day approaches in the Muggle world, romance is also a focus in this area of Half-Blood Prince. Join Andrew, Eric, Micah and Laura as they watch Harry watch Draco, watch Hermione regret her revenge against Ron, and watch Snape learn that Harry is suddenly good at Potions. New Throwback Content: This Saturday, February 14 at 11am ET, MuggleCast will stream the Chamber of Secrets PC Game LIVE on our Twitch! It will later be available on our YouTube channel. A listener recently reviewed us being “as cozy as a warm blanket on a cold day.” We're very touched! If you feel similarly, be sure to tell us by leaving a review. Chapter by Chapter continues with Half-Blood Prince, Chapter 15: The Unbreakable Vow The MC Pensive segment takes us back to an episode we recorded seven years ago. Hermione decides to take Cormac McLaggen to Slughorn's Christmas Party, just as Ron feared she would. Is this revenge satisfying for the readers? Do we feel bad when it doesn't work out for Hermione? Should love potions be taken more seriously than they are, by everyone? Harry is (rightly) worried. Eric asks, how does Cormac not know how to show someone a good time? Harry says that he kinda always thought Filch and Madame Prince were a thing. The hosts pick apart that offhand comment... ...and then we speculate. COULD that be a thing? Filch and Madame Prince? What do they have in common? How does Mrs. Norris feel? Is Snape's attempt to detect Draco's lying ethical? We know there's more in it at stake for him. Should Draco have been suspicious that Snape was working for Dumbledore, based on Snape's emphasis on the importance of DADA for Crabbe and Goyle? What If?: Harry overheard that Draco's mission was to kill Dumbledore? What if it was said aloud? What would Harry do? Odds and Ends include the Number 12 (our favorite), and vampires. Our MVP segment asks who is the best character to take to Slughorn's Christmas party? Our Lynx Line topic this week for Slug Club patrons: Who should Snape and Trelawney have invited as their dates to Slughorn's party? And, what would their pick-up lines have been? In this powerful episode of All Talk Oncology, Kenny Perkins (Your Cancer Guy) sits down with LaShae Rolle, a PhD researcher from The Bahamas who was diagnosed with multicentric breast cancer at just 26 years old. LaShae shares her unique perspective of being both a scientist in the field and a patient in the clinic, proving that strength comes in many forms. LaShae opens up about: Her life as a competitive powerlifter and researcher before her world was shifted by a diagnosis at age 26. How she used her knowledge of lifestyle factors—diet, protein intake, and exercise—to prepare her body for the "battle" of chemotherapy and surgery. Navigating treatment decisions, such as opting for a unilateral mastectomy and freezing her eggs, based on clinical research and long-term goals. Maintaining her powerlifting routine and squatting over 400lbs even during chemotherapy to combat fatigue and maintain bone health. How surviving cancer led her to adopt a "you only live once" mindset, focusing on advocacy and living life to the max. The importance of adolescent and young adult (AYA) support groups and using social media to connect with other survivors. This episode is a testament to the resilience of young survivors and a guide for anyone looking to take an active, empowered role in their own healing journey. This episode walks you through this week's astrology + practical and magical tactics to help you harness and navigate the energetics February 9th - 15th, 2026. This week is definitely more. Venus goes for a swim, Mercury gets shady, and Saturn, officially shifts into Aries. Saturn's move is the one to watch. In general grounding is still our focus. Confusion ramps up, but so does the desire to create self-discipline around progress. Mo(o)nday, February 9th: We have significant shifts this week. Continue to focus on care of you so you can care for you and yours. We continue the long game that is 2025 - 2026. More of the energetics that are so major from 2025 take hold in 2026, this week and next. General reminder: The Year of the Snake (2025 energy) is still in play until next week Lunar New Year, February 17th - on the first eclipse of the season. This is when the Fire Horse energy officially begins. Until then, we are shedding, listening, evaluation, releasing, squirming to transform and let go. Don't look away, do not disassociate, escape, or look away. These are defining moments personally, and collectively. We are called to get radically honest about what bad behavior we have let slide and what we really, really, really want..from the depth of our soul....and to then take action towards said thing(s). We still have no personal planets in Earth. My loves, the issue of general stability is real. We will not have support from the astrology on this until March 30th (when Venus moves into Taurus) and May 2nd (When Mercury moves into Taurus). Grounding is everything this year. Mat, meditation, prayer, time alone, root veggies, nourishing food, decrease in caffeine, lifting heavy things, weighted blankets, hugs, slathered in vetiver and honey, conversations with safe community. All of your tools need to be at the ready and you'll need to stick to basics. This is one of those times when motivation will not serve. It's going to be self-discipline and adulting and understanding the long game. We have equal placements in Fire, Air, and Water and this is a nice harmony....again...in theory...without Earth it still feels chaotic, mutable, and in general unstable....because it is...and if we focus on harnessing all the mutability...we can create incredible outcomes because of it, not in spite. We are in transition. As an individual and as a collective. Focus on what you want. Participate at a pace and in ways you can. All is helpful, just please do not tap out completely. Boundaries, limits, expectations, and hopes continue to sharpen. This week as Saturn moves into Aries for the first time since 1999 we gain focus on self-discipline, ambition, responsibility, and self assertion. And although Saturn doesn't do so well in Pisces (where it's been since 2023), it's considered to be in its fall in Aries. I don't prescribe to binaries and try to stay away from it. In astrology nothing is good or bad...but there can be ease or challenges and this is definitely a challenge. It sets a fire under our collective asses. It has us all focusing on what is best for us as an individual (more equity) but we can see how that can create conflict and challenge if everyone individually is focused on personal centering, yes? To harmonize this, we must embrace intersectionality. Freedom for one, is freedom for none. Justice for one is justice for none. We rise together. We thrive together. Our practices are genuinely meant for this. When we calm and center ourselves, we can earnestly do the same for the collective and the future. Tiny and mighty. It still matters. It always matters. This transit takes us to task in a really good way. We will start stepping up in ways we have not before. Go with it. Embrace it. It's a 3 year process. On top of all of this, we're in the eclipse portal. We just need to be aware of how big all the energetics are right now. On top of no Earth in the chart, a shift from one of our major planets (Saturn) the Universe says it's time for buckets full of energy/magic to be dumped on us as it hits the reset button of astrology (power off/power on) in eclipse season. This eclipse portal begins now, essentially, and closes March 13th. This is the period of time we will be uttering "Plot twist! " "That was not on my bingo card for 2026" or "I did not see that coming." PLEASE REMEMBER these things can be incredible gifts, happy surprises, opportunities, and blessings! It is truly wild times with incredible potential and wonderful Easter eggs tucked in them. Stay curious about what your soul really wants, and stay focused and committed to what you want. Where attention goes, energy flows. Tuesday, February 10th: Day 1 of Supportive Solutions - You'll need a wall space for this workout. I know it can be a tricky prop to require, but again I'm a super fan of this no cost support that can also create resistance. Simple is best and always works. Venus in Pisces. This is a regular transition. Venus continues to move her way through the chart house by house. She stays in a sign an average of 4 weeks at a time. Venus loves to be here! We are here for this romantic, poetic, creative, backstroke through our fantasies and realities. Embrace this. Fuel this. Spend extra time with Aphrodite in this period of time (till March 6th) to expand, grow, and protect all the good things in our lives (friendships, networks, communities, partners....overall connections). They both want our desires to become a reality. This is one of the major Easter eggs of 2026. Wednesday, February 11th: Listen to The Magic Spark. Thursday, February 12th: Connect in The Unicorn Wellness Studio private member group. Friday, February 13th: It's Goddess Day! Time to ask: What does my inner goddess need in order to remember she is sacred, divine, and designed to receive? Today is actual Goddess Day - a Friday on the 13th. This is not bad luck, this is a historical celebration of the female divine, in its origin terms, in honor of the 13 moon cycles, our personal 13 moon cycles. It's truly an anti-patriarchal day. Reclaim it. Celebrate. Embrace creative life force, it's unlimited hope and potential to forever recreate, birth, make new, and begin again. However it calls to you, spend time at your altar, spend time with your vessel/body. Remind yourself of the potential YOU are and can generate and participate in. -Mercury Retroshade begins. We know the drill: ▪️Mercury stations retrograde 3xs a year ▪️The slow down prior to stationing Rx is called the pre-shadow or as I call it Retroshade. ▪️The actual Rx is lighter than the pre or post shadow. ▪️This week and next (Retroshade) is the brochure of the lesson/blessing we are to work with in this cycle. ▪️We will revisit this opportunity again in the Rx (February 26th - March 19th) and post shadow (March 20th - April 3rd). This Retrograde isn't great. I cannot sugar coat it. Mercury is not the best swimmer. Things get mucky, confused, poetic, and sound really great but could just be pretty words and empty promises. It could, at its best, offer feeling to heal things, honest words, the get raw and hit soul truths but will take effort after retrograde to bring to actual fruition. Triple check communications, travel, and finances. As clarifying questions. If you think you should check on something, DO. We will thrive and survive, but know this one isn't set up for ease. Check what house Pisces is in in your natal chart. This is where your themes and focus will be. This is great energy for making and creating. Focus on that. Craft, write, sing, dance, garden, cook....this is the way through. Saturn moves into Aries. Please see Monday. But here's the repeat: Saturn moves into Aries for the first time since 1999. We gain focus on self-discipline, ambition, responsibility, and self assertion. And although Saturn doesn't do so well in Pisces (where it's been since 2023), it's considered to be in its fall in Aries. I don't prescribe to binaries and try to stay away from it in the astrology...nothing is good or bad...but there can be ease or challenges and this is definitely a challenge. This is one of the major shifts we experienced a toe dip into in 2025 but takes root now, in 2026. Neptune and Saturn are travel partners these days. Delusion, dreams, and what it takes to bring outcomes to fruition is the lesson they are trying to teach the collective. Day 1 of Core Solutions - You'll need a set of yoga blocks for this workout. It's extra core focused and you'll be better supported with a cork set of blocks for stability and resistance. Saturday, February 14th: First day of New Moon Energy. We begin the down turn of energy today. But this is no regular new moon we're headed towards on the 17th. We're in the eclipse portal and the energy may have gotten weirder already, as early as Monday or Tuesday. This is a new moon so it's all about clearing the schedule for restoration, rejuvenation, rest, and meditation. Things will shift. Let them. Whatever is leaving, going, releasing....let it. Welcome in the new, emotional intelligence upgrade. Use your monthly meditation (it's a 3rd eye cleanse), work with any of the Energy Healings; Frequency or Goddesses in your UWS member library. Now is the time for recalibration and healings. Sunday, February 15th: Your weekly mantra. I surrender to the pivot. I embrace the plot twist. I keep my heart and mind focused on what I want, wish, and desire. I allow the upgrades, the reveals, the resets, and the fresh timelines. Our wildest dreams are still possible. We hold the vision. D.O. or Do Not: The Osteopathic Physician's Journey for Premed & Medical Students
Send us a textFor those of you that don't know, in the modern system of medical school clinical rotations, students typically rotate at their "home institutions" or medical school affiliates. One of the criticisms of post-graduate Osteopathic Medical education is that at some schools, students need to do a significant number of away rotations especially if they are interested in competitive surgical specialties. The VSLO is an organization through the AAMC which allows American MD and American DO students to coordinate these rotations with outside hospitals. This episode is mainly in response to posts on Redit and Youtube commenting on the process for Osteopathic Medical Students. To shed some light on the topic, In this episode, we will interview Robin Carle, the director of VSLO at the AAMC to shed some light on the VSLO process and the validity of the comments regarding biases within the system against DO's.

One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! On this January 29th episode, join Hunter as he guides us through day 29 of our year-long journey through the Bible. Together, we'll explore the guidelines given in Exodus 23–24, reflect on the heartfelt cry of Psalm 14, and witness the early church's challenges and triumphs in Acts 5—including the powerful and sobering story of Ananias and Sapphira. Throughout the episode, Hunter, your Bible reading coach, helps us see how these passages all point to the Living Word, Jesus—the One who offers us abundant life. We'll be reminded how easily the simple message of Christ can be missed or manipulated, and invited once again to say yes to the true message: life in Him. We finish with meaningful prayers and practical encouragement for our spiritual journey, all wrapped in a spirit of gratitude and community. Thank you for joining us as we walk this pilgrim road together—let's dive into today's reading and let the Word do its work in our hearts. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The message is so simple. And yet, as we read today, Ananias and Sapphira got that message so very wrong. The High Council and the religious leaders, too, missed the central truth. And that's pretty much true to form for most religion—the simple message of God can often be missed, misused, or manipulated. Ananias and Sapphira thought this message was about getting—position, influence, prominence. They wanted to manipulate, to use the message for gain, not for giving. The heart of what God offers was missed in their striving, their attempt to appear generous when it was really driven by self-interest. Then we see the religious leaders; they saw the message as a threat to their control and their standing. They tried to stop it, seeing it not as good news of life but as something that threatened their systems. And isn't this true for us as well? Inside and outside the church we often take the message of life and shape it into something else—a tool for manipulation, or a means to gain acceptance or justify ourselves, or a way to maintain power or status. But the message is so simple, and we see it again today, spoken with clarity by the angel to Peter and John: "Go to the temple and give the people this message of… life." That's it. Life. You've been included into the very life of God. Let go of all the false messages, let go of the need to control, to pretend, to justify. Just say yes to this simple truth, and experience life—here and now. Jesus himself tells us, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). In him was life, and that life was the light of all people (John 4). It's not about power, or prestige, or gaining influence. It's about participating in the abundant, eternal life that God gives freely. Among all the twisted manipulations of the human heart comes God's invitation: Step into life. Don't miss it; receive it, enter and awaken to the life offered to you. Walk with him. Participate with him. You can start right now, simply by turning your heart toward God in gratitude—"Thank you for life, Lord Jesus. I walk with you today." That is the prayer for my soul, for my family—my wife, my daughters, my son—and that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. What if consciousness isn't passive...but responsive? *SCROLL DOWN FOR SPECIAL OFFERS FROM HEATHER!*In this episode of The Skeptic Metaphysicians, we explore a grounded, modern approach to the Akashic Records, not as a mystical abstraction, but as a living field of consciousness that reflects your patterns, choices, and potential in real time. Our conversation reframes the Akashic Records as a practical tool for intuition development, spiritual awakening, and soul purpose, revealing how energetic patterns influence relationships, money, leadership, and self-trust. We unpack how intuition actually works, why skepticism can be healthy (and necessary), and how consciousness may behave more like a relational system than a static database. Along the way, we explore topics like non-linear time, manifestation as momentum rather than wishful thinking, and how ancient wisdom is increasingly intersecting with modern science...including research into water's intelligence and the quantum field. In this episode of The Dish on Health IT, host Tony Schueth, CEO of Point-of-Care Partners (POCP), is joined by colleagues Mary Griskewicz, Regulatory Resource Center Lead, and Janice Reese, Senior Consultant and Program Manager of FHIR at Scale Taskforce (FAST), for a wide-ranging discussion on two major proposed rules released in mid-December 2025: the HTI-5 proposed rule from the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy (ASTP) and CMS's latest proposal on healthcare price transparency.Rather than treating these rules as abstract policy exercises, the conversation focuses on what the government is trying to accomplish, how these proposals may reshape the interoperability and data access landscape, and why stakeholder participation during the comment period is not optional if the industry wants workable outcomes.Setting the Stage: How Proposed Rules Become RealityThe episode opens with a level set for listeners who do not spend their days in the Federal Register. Mary walks through how proposed rules originate, typically from legislation or executive policy, and how they move from proposal to public comment to either a final rule, an interim final rule, or, in some cases, a complete pause or reset. She emphasizes a point that often gets overlooked: every public comment is read and reviewed. The agencies group and analyze the comments section by section and respond to themes and concerns in the final rule text. Janice builds on this by explaining that the comment period is where high-level policy intent meets operational reality. The most effective comments are not lengthy manifestos, but specific, experience-based feedback that highlights feasibility issues, sequencing challenges, and unintended consequences.HTI-5: From Experimentation to ExecutionThe discussion then turns to HTI-5, with Mary outlining the core problem the rule is trying to address. Prior certification requirements placed a significant burden on vendors, often locking innovation into long development cycles while the market waited for updates. HTI-5 seeks to modernize this approach by reducing prescriptive certification requirements and relying more on modern, open architecture, particularly FHIR-based APIs, to enable faster, more scalable data exchange.Janice frames HTI-5 as a clear signal that the industry is moving out of the experimentation phase and into execution. By reinforcing a “FHIR-first” direction while pulling back on some certification detail, the rule implicitly raises expectations for real-world performance. As FHIR becomes the default, security, identity, consent, and trust cannot be treated as optional or inconsistently implemented components. From a FAST perspective, this shift is critical. HTI-5 creates the regulatory space, but the infrastructure and implementation guidance needed to make trusted interoperability work at scale must come from industry-led collaboration. Janice explains that FAST's work on security, identity, consent, and national directory services is about operationalizing trust so organizations are not reinventing these foundations on their own.Information Blocking, Automation, and Trust at ScaleA pivotal moment in the conversation centers on HTI-5's clarification that information blocking explicitly includes automated and AI-driven access. Mary underscores that automation is now central to how data moves across the healthcare ecosystem. When access decisions are embedded in APIs, workflows, and algorithms, trust becomes the defining requirement.Janice expands on this by noting that the issue is not just whether data can be accessed, but whether access is appropriate, provable, and governed. As automation increases, expectations shift toward accountability, auditability, and consistent enforcement of identity and consent. FHIR APIs, once viewed as certification checkboxes, are becoming the primary channel for data exchange across networks, including consumer-facing applications.Stakeholder Impacts: Vendors, Providers, and PayersThe episode then walks through how HTI-5 affects different stakeholder groups. For health IT vendors and digital health companies, Janice describes a trade-off: fewer certification guardrails provide flexibility but also remove a layer of protection. Vendors will be judged less on formal compliance artifacts and more on how their systems perform across networks at scale, including security, identity management, and reliability.Mary cautions that vendors should not interpret HTI-5 as traditional deregulation. With HTI-6 already on the horizon, organizations that underinvest now risk facing more stringent outcome-based expectations later. Tony reinforces this point, arguing that the real risk is collective. A single high-profile failure due to weak security or identity practices could undermine trust across the ecosystem and invite a regulatory response that affects everyone. For providers and health systems, the shift means becoming more informed consumers of technology. Certification alone will no longer guarantee interoperability or trustworthiness. Providers will increasingly need to ask vendors how solutions perform in environments beyond a single one and how identity, consent, and security are handled across organizational boundaries. From a payer perspective, Mary explains that while HTI-5 does not directly change prior authorization requirements, it fundamentally reshapes the data access environment. As FHIR APIs become the default, plans will be expected to exchange data more dynamically and through automated workflows. This raises expectations around timeliness, quality, and trust, and accelerates a shift from managing transactions to managing trust at scale.Price Transparency: Compliance Without ClarityThe conversation then transitions to CMS's proposed price transparency rule, with Tony noting the absence of POCP's usual price transparency expert and setting expectations for a higher-level discussion. Mary explains that this tri-agency proposal builds on earlier rules by clarifying standards, easing some reporting burdens, and refining requirements around machine-readable files, metadata, and reporting timelines. While these changes offer some relief to plans, Janice highlights a deeper challenge. Making pricing data available does not make it meaningful. Without consistent ways to connect clinical concepts to billing codes and pricing structures, patients and employers are left with technically accurate but practically unusable information. True transparency will require better integration of pricing data into real-time workflows, supported by APIs, governance, and trust frameworks.Mary also reminds listeners that employers are a critical stakeholder often overlooked in these discussions. As purchasers of coverage, they rely on usable pricing data to understand utilization and manage costs, making their perspective essential during the comment period. The Closing Message: Comment, Participate, Get InvolvedThe episode closes with a strong call to action. Mary urges listeners to “get off the bench” and engage, regardless of which rule is at issue. Comment periods directly affect compliance programs, product roadmaps, and competitive positioning. Janice reinforces that policy alone cannot solve interoperability challenges. Progress depends on shared implementation guidance, testing, governance, and sustained participation in standards organizations and multi-stakeholder initiatives, including FAST.The final takeaway is clear: HTI-5 and the price transparency proposal are not just regulatory events. They are inflection points. Organizations that participate now can help shape outcomes that are achievable, scalable, and trusted. Those that sit out will be left reacting to decisions made without their operational realities at the table.Listeners are reminded that both proposed rules have comment deadlines in late February, and that POCP is available to support organizations in understanding the implications and crafting effective comments. The episode closes, as always, with the reminder that Health IT is a dish best served hot.
This week, bring your finest gin (Andrew's is indigo!) to a party at the Muggle orphanage where Mrs. Cole is meets Dumbledore, as our Chapter-by-Chapter series continues discussing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Our Chapter 13 discussion of "The Secret Riddle" is thought-provoking and focused largely on Dumbledore's actions and his intentions, based on what he might have known about things way back in the early 1940's. News: We discuss two new castings for the recent Prisoner of Azkaban full cast audiobook release. Stay tuned for a review of these new audiobooks! Chapter-by-Chapter continues with Half-Blood Prince, Chapter 13: The Secret Riddle Is Harry treating Dumbledore differently at the start of the chapter than Young Tom Riddle treats him during the memory? What changes in Dumbledore's response to Harry if he already knows what Harry is saying about Draco is true? The Pensieve memory with Burke might seem different - but we've actually seen something like it before! A listener email asks, could Dumbledore have sent Mundungus to raid Grimmauld Place for Aberforth? How is what Dumbledore does to Mrs. Cole different than what Young Tom does to his fellow orphans? What made Merope still honor her father when naming Tom? We discuss Tom Riddle's mental state and one possibly identifiable diagnosis for his behavior. How come Harry didn't turn out like Tom Riddle given their similar trajectories? Was Dumbledore intentionally trying to impress Tom by making fire? Is he therefore playing with fire? Our MVP segment asks what the creepiest thing Young Tom Riddle does in this chapter?
