Who do you talk to the most? Who is your go to, to process what happened today? Who do you want to share the exciting news with or what they did? As names and faces come to us, I am almost positive not one of us thought of the person we talk to the most. Yourself, a conversation that never ends. And we never choose the conversation. It just happens. That might mean our self-talk is taking us to thoughts and places that we don’t want to go, and we are not doing anything to resist because who do we trust more than our own voice. Today we continue our series in the Psalms and that brings us to Psalm 103. As we read it, hear the Psalmist telling himself what to think.
Costly Praise--My job is to bless the Lord and not forget all HIs benefits. Full of cause and reason to bless the Lord--fortifying ourselves through life's circumstances
Remember who He is! Read the red letters!
The liturgy and prayers for the fifth week of Lent and the sermon on Psalm 103.
Why do we give praise to God? How can such inferior creatures ever give God praise worthy of who He is? Psalm 103 calls not only the individual, but the entire cosmos to bless God. We discover that it is not God who needs our praise, but we who need to enter into His life through praise.

The author of Psalm 103 is preaching a specific message to himself here: “Bless the Lord, O my soul…” No matter the circumstance, bless the Lord. The God of the OT is the same God of the NT and He’s the same God today. He is a God of compassion, justice, grace, truth, mercy, and love. He does not deal with according to our sins, or treat us as we deserve (thankfully!). But we need to remember this truth: God only forgives sins by grace through faith in Christ alone. That’s how He forgives, heals, redeems, crowns, & satisfies - in Christ alone.

Life can be so unstable, can't it? To be more specific, we can be unstable and easily toppled by the things in life. Teaching from Psalm 103, Pastor Chris Kipp talks about the stability that comes from being God's kid. This ancient Psalm reminds us of God's goodness toward us. In just a few days, we will say goodbye to 2020 and welcome the new year. A year ago, none of us could have predicted how 2020 would unfold. What has this year taught us, and how can we make next year better? First, we can take nothing for granted. Almost overnight, our world was turned upside down. We have learned to value what is truly important. Life can become cluttered, but when things began to change, we discovered that there were things that we could live without. This year has taught us what is essential. How do we want to close out this year and begin the new? We need to enlarge our capacity for the supernatural. We must become more sensitive to the presence of God and begin to recognize the unexpected place of blessing that He brings. We have to make His presence a priority. We have to learn to trust God’s plan. We do not understand the reason for the things that have happened in 2020, but we have to trust His plan. We must close out this year with more thankfulness. 2020 has taught us that we have to increase our capacity to extend grace and mercy to each other. As we prepare to welcome the new year, we want to do what Paul admonished us to do: forgetting the things which are behind and reaching toward those things that are before us. We must let go of the past. Let go of the pain, the hurt, the struggle, and the regrets. Look into the new year, reaching for something better. Turn of focus from the failure of the past and looking to the opportunity of the future. That is how to end the old and begin the new.

Welcome to our first Drive-In Church service! What a wonderful morning this was as we all met separately but together in our cars for our first ever drive-in church service as our nation continues in quarantine due to COVID-19. Over 200 people gathered in 92 cars, all spaced one space apart(!), to worship together and hear Pastor Gary Barber preach on Psalm 103. There were a lot of waves and air hugs as we enjoyed being together for the first time since the pandemic struck and we had to stop public services. It was a sweet morning, and we are glad you are here today to share it with us. As Psalm 103 says, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits...."

A message from the Psalms about the blessings of God
Our mission at Community Church of Greenwood is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and live in full devotion to Him. We want to help people far from God to experience new life in Jesus Christ.
In this sermon preached on Father's Day Pastor Keith seeks to get a high resolution snapshot of who God is and what He does. David gives us a clear view of God's character and deeds in Psalm 103 calling himself and all creation to respond in praise to the excellencies of God. David quotes Exodus 34:6 stating that "the Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love". This is the God we love and worship!

Next Steps: Join in with the heavenly rule of God by praising him on the earth with your words and actions. Reflect on ways in which your own life does and does not display the kingship of Jesus.

How to bless the Lord
Psalm 103 Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not His benefits. The English definition of "show your hand” is 'to allow people to know about intentions that you had previously kept secret: Keep the names of the team secret - don't show your hand until the day of the match'. In this informative inspiring message Ps Julie declares that this is the day of the match....God is showing His hand.
As we take the journey toward Easter we take a look at the Benefits of God and try to understand the true meaning of the Love of God and what truly occurred at the cross and resurrection !
