The Straight DOPE podcast is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in long range shooting. Hosted by Chris Way, the podcast takes a data-driven and scientific approach to exploring the biomechanical and mental components of the shooting sports. This podcast is especially beneficial for novice shooters, as Way breaks down complex concepts into easily understandable information.
One of the best aspects of The Straight DOPE podcast is how it teaches listeners the importance of building a rest with integrity and reducing wobble. This knowledge alone can save shooters money in the long run, as it helps improve accuracy and consistency. Way challenges listeners to question, test, and measure objectively, providing valuable insights that can benefit all skill levels.
Chris Way's approach can be described as that of a shooting sports scientist. His intelligence and perspective shine through in every episode, making this podcast stand out from others in its field. Whether you're new to long range shooting or have years of experience under your belt, there is something to be gained from following Way's data-driven approach.
While The Straight DOPE podcast offers incredible value and insightful content, it would be great to see even more information on rest-building techniques. The emphasis on building a stable rest with less wobble has already proven beneficial for many listeners, so expanding on this topic could further enhance their shooting skills.
In conclusion, The Straight DOPE podcast is a must-listen for anyone looking to improve their long range shooting abilities. Chris Way's knowledge and methodical approach provide listeners with practical strategies to identify and overcome their weaknesses. With each episode being worth your time to listen to, this podcast is truly invaluable in helping shooters set themselves up for success.

So at the Nightforce ELR match I realized that my kestrel game was yellow belt and needed to level up quick. Each stage I knocked off items and details that improved my score steadily through the day.One of the discoveries I made was a quirk with wind angle and shooting angle that made a difference if done right and caused elevation issues if not addressed.Once fixed scores continued to climb and I continued to knock off more details that allowed me to go from somewhere between 60 and 100th to finishing top 10. For me it was a huge win because I learned a lot and had fun doing it.Hopefully this helps you is youre shooting at ranges where the details matter.Inside of 1000 it really isnt much of an issue so I never paid attention.
Parallax can have you missing and scratching your head about why.
The week of errors continues with a focus more focused on teh shooter induced side of things.Hopefully it gives you something to think about.Send an email to chris@riflekraft.com if you have thoughtsThanks for listening.
Trying to talk about gear issues and what I have seen.I think diagnosing gear issues can be overwhelming if you continue to shoot rounds and try to "test" by fire rather than thinking through what could cause the problem and look there before shooting. Its not always easy, but more often than not it requires less shooting thank you think.I kind of ramble, but most of you are used to it?thanksnext will be the shooter.
This week I will be talking about poi issues, misses, and stuff as it relates to the shooter or the shooters gear. I think that we have a visceral reaction and tend to lean one way for the other - but with experience we learn to blend and troubleshoot. So lets identify then troubleshoot through the eyes of the "its me's" and the "its the equipments"riflekraft.comcheck out this torque teaser video

Todays Episode is about the Ultimate Hunter Challenge at Cameo.I have Walt and Austin on to Discuss what and why they designed the course and competition the way it is. So Frank and Marc came up with what they originally called weaponized math and used it in their courses, talked about it on Snipers Hide, and renamed it Gravity Ballistics.
