Annual late summer rites of ritual combat—football season—converge this year with the four-year cycle of federal presidential election season. As the first (and only?) presidential debate looms, has the shakeup at the top of the Democratic ticket led to much appreciable change in the US Social Structure? The answer: It's Debatable. This week, as we prepare to undertake the second iteration of our Introduction to Africana Studies Course in Knubia, we put electoral politics in the US in larger frameworks of developments in the US and global social structure. We also ask, on the cusp of Sonia Sanchez's 90th birthday, the guiding question: “Uh huh, but how do it free us?”JOIN KNARRATIVE: https://www.knarrative.com it's the only way to get into #Knubia, where these classes areheld live with a live chat.To shop Go to:TheGlobalMajorityMore from us:Knarrative Twitter: https://twitter.com/knarrative_Knarrative Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/knarrative/In Class with Carr Twitter: https://twitter.com/inclasswithcarrSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Send us a textIt would be a sin not to open the show discussing the Wolves and their playoff run so far and what their future match ups could look like. The first weekend of local racing kicked off, along with the WISSOTA Structural Building Late Model series, which is turning out to be a Minnesota series with the lack of drivers from surrounding areas. The guys give their thoughts on changes that need to be made to increase car counts for the series, including restricting the class for competing tracks when the series runs. Debatable calls at Donnyland for the first night of the Late Model series are hashed over, with the question raised of whether anyone would make a call against him on his own playground. We round out this episode looking ahead to this weekend's events, or lack therof, given the grim Minnesota weather forecast.

I share one of my techniques to get significantly better outputs from LLM's. The method involves using multiple AI platforms simultaneously (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini) and telling each that a competitor's response was superior, which prompts them to produce increasingly refined and higher-quality content. Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro 01:29 - Initial Prompt 04:04 - Improved Responses after "Jealousy" Prompt Key Points: • Using multiple AI models simultaneously and comparing their outputs yields better results • Making AI models "jealous" of each other by telling them another model performed better • Demonstrated technique using a cold email writing task across ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok • Each subsequent AI response improved after being told a competitor performed better 1) The BIG IDEA: Make AI models COMPETE against each other to produce superior results When you pit LLMs against each other and make them "jealous," they dramatically improve their outputs. Most people only use one AI at a time. That's a HUGE mistake. 2) The step-by-step "AI Jealousy Technique": • Open multiple AI tools simultaneously (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, etc.) • Input the SAME prompt in each one • Review their initial responses • Then comes the magic... 3) The JEALOUSY trigger: Tell each AI that its competitor did BETTER! Example: "Not bad, but I'm surprised. [Competitor] crushed it with a 9/10 while you were just average at 5/10. I thought you were the better LLM. What's going on?" Then share the "winning" response. 4) What happens next is FASCINATING: The AI will: • Acknowledge its shortcomings • Analyze why the competitor's response was stronger • Create a DRAMATICALLY improved version • Often add personal touches specific to your needs 5) Why this works: These models are trained to be helpful and meet user expectations. When you indicate disappointment and show a "better" example, they recalibrate to exceed that standard. It's like getting a free upgrade to the premium version! 6) BONUS TIP: You don't even have to be 100% honest! Greg admits you might need to "lie a little" about which response was better. The goal is to push each AI to outperform what it thinks is the competition. Ethical? Debatable. Effective? ABSOLUTELY. 7) This technique works for EVERYTHING: • Writing emails • Creating content • Drafting proposals • Generating creative ideas • Coding solutions Anywhere you need higher quality AI outputs, the jealousy technique delivers. According to College of Policing guidance, Non-Crime Hate Incidents (NCHIs) help forces build an intelligence picture of community tensions and understand where they need to allocate resources for prevention. Indeed, during a House of Lords debate in November 2024, Lord Hanson, the Home Office minister, told peers: “It is vital that the police monitor non-crime hate incidents when proportionate and necessary to do so to help prevent serious crimes”. However, the Telegraph reports that freedom of information requests submitted to police by Harry Miller, the founder of Fair Cop, revealed that many of the biggest forces, including the Met, Greater Manchester and West Midlands do not actually analyse the NCHI data they collect. Meanwhile, the Conservatives are tabling an amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill to abolish non-crime hate incidents. FSU members can use our Campaigns tool to write to their MPs to urge them to vote for this amendment. In our next item, we discuss the barring of Renaud Camus, a French philosopher, from entering the UK due to his controversial views on immigration. Lord Young is quoted in the Telegraph, “We've reached out to him to see if he'd like any help in appealing this decision, and he said yes. So I anticipate that we are going to be getting an immigration lawyer on the case”. He adds, “I don't think that the common good is endangered by inviting people to set out their contentious views in the public square, particularly not someone as distinguished as Mr Camus”. We end with a brief discussion on a new FSU briefing paper written by Trevor Kavanagh and entitled, “Journalism in the Dock, Sir Keir Starmer's Baseless Prosecution of Tabloid Journalists as Director of Public Prosecutions”. The video of Monday's FSU event, “Lifeblood of Democracy”, where we discussed the issues raised within the paper and Operation Elveden, will soon be available on our website. ‘That's Debatable!' is edited by Jason Clift.

Then swim under the lane line to the next lane and repeat the process until athletes have completed a lap in six lanes for a total of 300 meters. Please include advice about: *passing when someone is coming back down the same lane ( possibility of 3 abreast) *does it matter if you pass on the right or left of the athlete? *touch & kick off OR flip when returning down the SAME lane *your technique for getting under the lane rope and heading off again *explain the mind set, as I'm used to open water races and I want to dominate Thank you in advance! I listen to your podcasts during long, indoor bike sessions. You make me feel a part of the triathlon world. I get your email notifications for Grit2Greatness Endurance. I hope the following specifics aid you in your response to me. I don't like adding the anxiousness of "how" to execute the swim, so any advice is welcome! The race is May 3, so I have time to practice what you suggest. I've done 2 serpentine swim races and the biggest issues for me were: *passing through the congestion of swimmers returning down the lane *swimmers resting at the wall and thusly blocking the ability to push-off/flip-turn *choosing which side to pass a swimmer on that is meandering Dear Ruth, This serpentine swim format presents some unique challenges, but with the right strategies, you can navigate the congestion smoothly and maintain momentum throughout the race. Here are a few strategies: 1. Passing Through Lane Congestion Strategic Positioning: Start strong to secure a front position and avoid major bottlenecks early on. If starting later, be mentally prepared for more congestion. Breath Control & Awareness: Practice bilateral breathing to keep an eye on approaching swimmers. This helps with timing a pass effectively. Speed Bursts: Rather than attempting a sustained faster pace, use short, controlled accelerations to overtake when space opens up. 2. Dealing With Swimmers Blocking the Wall Adaptable Turn Techniques: If a flip turn isn't possible, opt for an open turn with a powerful push-off at an angle. Underwater Exit: If the lane rope transition is congested, avoid surface-level interference by streamlining under the resting swimmers while transferring to the next lane. Pre-race Observation: Before starting, assess common bottleneck areas—know which lanes tend to clog near the walls and mentally prepare alternate strategies. Communicate: Before the race, talk to the 3-4 swimmers ahead of you to come to a working agreement that if you get your toes tapped, move to the side at the next wall. 3. Choosing the Best Side to Pass a Meandering Swimmer (if you can't pass at the wall) Reading Body Language: Observe patterns in how the swimmer moves—does their meandering have a rhythm? Predict their next movement before passing. Firm Commitment: Once you initiate a pass, sticking to your chosen side with confidence to prevent hesitation that could slow you down or cause contact. Gentle Tap: If someone is repeatedly veering into her path, a subtle tap or verbal signal can alert them without disrupting their rhythm. Practice these strategies in training sessions with other swimmers to simulate race-day conditions. This combination of communication, awareness, adaptability, and assertiveness will make all the difference. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Interview: Colorado's Ride with Bill Plock Bill Plock, Ride Director for Colorado's Ride is going to talk to us about this epic experience, Colorado's Ride. Session Note This is an easy ride for a reason. Focus on a smooth pedal stroke and holding around 90 rpms. Manage your intensity based on heart rate rather than power. Going faster or further on this session will likely hinder your recovery from prior sessions and your ability to get the most out of future sessions. For the HCP (high-cadence pedaling) efforts, pedal as fast as you can pedal without bouncing in the saddle. Try to achieve up to about 115 rpms. During HCP, use very low resistance (low gear and/or reduced power). The objective is smooth and fast leg speed not generating power. Fun Segment: Triathlon Guilty Pleasures Segment: Triathlon Guilty Pleasures – Rank That Ridiculousness! Welcome to Triathlon Guilty Pleasures, where we confess our quirkiest habits, indulgent routines, and those oddly specific rituals we swear help us race better. But this time… I'm going to read six scenarios and rate each one on a scale from 1 to 5 for absurdity—with 1 being totally understandable and 5 being what is even happening?! Rich, are you ready to let the judgment begin? 1. The Matching Gear Mania “Every piece of race day gear has to match—from the kit and shoes to the water bottles and gels. Color coordination is power.” Stylish? Absolutely. Necessary? Debatable. 2. Zone 2 = Trash TV Time “Treadmill sessions are scheduled around reality TV shows. If I'm not running, I'm not watching. Endurance meets entertainment.” You're either building aerobic fitness… or judging cupcakes on Netflix. 3. Sunglass Snobbery “I have sunglasses for every training mood—‘aero mode,' ‘cloudy intervals,' ‘post-race selfies,' and more.” Fashion meets function… but mostly fashion. 4. The Post-Race Shower Snack “Sometimes I bring a PB&J into the shower after a race so I can eat and rinse off at the same time.” Fueling meets multitasking… or madness. 5. Pre-Race Burger Ritual “I have to eat a cheeseburger the night before every race. No burger, no PR.” Is it carb-loading or superstition? Yes. 6. Bike Cleaning as Therapy “I clean my bike before every long ride, even if it's already spotless. It calms me.” Clean drivetrain = clear mind. Listener Prompt: What's your triathlon guilty pleasure? DM us, tag us, or confess anonymously—we'll read the best ones in a future episode and rank the ridiculousness! Closing Line: No matter how wild, weird, or wonderful… if it keeps you training, it's totally valid. Mostly. Closing: Before we close, I want to wish Caroline Thanks again for listening this week. Please be sure to follow us @303Triathlon and @grit2greatnessendurance and of course go to iTunes and give us a rating and a comment. We'd really appreciate it!
Welcome back to Born to Watch, where this week the team tackles the endlessly rewatchable, criminally underappreciated Edge of Tomorrow (2014). Strap in as Whitey, Damo, and Dan on the Land gear up for a sci-fi action loop fest featuring Tom Cruise in one of his most against-type roles, Emily Blunt as a full-metal badass, and a time-travel plot that actually sticks the landing. Enjoy our Edge of Tomorrow (2014) Review! The boys jump right into the paradox-riddled battlefield, first marveling at how this epic blockbuster somehow bombed in the US, despite being everything a great action movie should be. They blame lousy marketing, title confusion (was it Live Die Repeat?), and the fact that in 2014, Cruise was still on Hollywood's naughty step thanks to Oprah's couch. But now? It's cult-classic gold.Whitey kicks off by calling out just how rare it is to see Cruise playing the weasel, Major Cage is an ad man thrown into combat, clueless and terrified. For Dan, this fish-out-of-water arc makes the movie shine, watching Cruise go from smug coward to unstoppable warrior. Damo agrees, even calling Edge of Tomorrow his number one Cruise performance, yep, he goes there.Emily Blunt earns unanimous praise as Rita Vrataski, the “Angel of Verdun” and all-around exosuit-slaying legend. She's fierce, stoic, and fit as hell, basically the action heroine we didn't know we needed in 2014. Her iconic push-up entrance gets a lot of airtime (and a few longing sighs), and the team agrees she holds her own, and then some, against Cruise. And what would a Born to Watch ep be without the usual blend of insight and irreverence? We get tangents on everything from duck anatomy (cloacas, anyone?) to Bill Paxton's legendary status as the only man killed by a Terminator, a Predator, and an Alien. The Paxton love is real. The pod dives into director Doug Liman's sharp visuals and crisp pacing, and shout out screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, who somehow turns a convoluted time loop premise into a tight, clever, and emotional thrill ride. Liman's resume (Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) gets the props it deserves, and there's a great sidebar on the upcoming Road House remake, complete with hot takes on Jake Gyllenhaal. As always, the “Hit, Sleeper, Dud” segment delivers, with Gone Girl getting the nod as a masterful hit, Kevin Costner's 3 Days to Kill as a solid sleeper, and Lucy (sorry, ScarJo) landing squarely in dud territory. Bonus points for Damo's vivid breakdown of Ben Affleck's infamous side-dick scene. The episode also features a glorious Cruise countdown. Each host reveals their top five Tom Cruise films, expect Jerry Maguire, Collateral, Top Gun: Maverick, and of course, Edge of Tomorrow, to make appearances. Damo even throws in Tropic Thunder, because who can forget Les Grossman? Then there's the philosophical stuff: How long was Cage actually in the time loop? (Answer: a hell of a long time). Was blackmailing the general really the best plan? (Debatable). And what's the real ending? (Whitey thinks it's Cruise's “now you're gonna bone me” smile).Oh, and voicemails are back! Listeners call in to rant about The Bodyguard, praise the pod's Whitney Houston renditions, and drop the occasional F-bomb. Classic Born to Watch fan energy.Listen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts!Join the conversation:Is Edge of Tomorrow Cruise's most underrated film? Would you waste 300 time loops trying to get with Emily Blunt? We have just completed our quarterly analysis of FSU casework and dive into the results of that during today's episode. The first quarter of 2025 was our busiest ever with 411 new incidents received in the FSU inbox. This growth in caseload is directly related to the continuing increase in FSU active membership, which is now running at over 4,000 new members per quarter. ‘State Intervention', which ranges from police contact and Non-Crime Hate Incidents through to arrest and prosecution, is a growing proportion of our work, representing 23% of new cases for the year to date, up from just 10% as recently as 2023. The good news is that, for cases that we see through from beginning to end, our member achieves a favourable outcome 80% of the time. We end the episode with a discussion on our third Belfast speakeasy that was held on Friday 11th April – the video should be up later in the week. We wish all our listeners and viewers a very Happy Easter! ‘That's Debatable!' is edited by Jason Clift.

Hhhhooooooooo boy where to begin with War For Cybertron Kingdom. Is it better than Earthrise? Absolutely. Is it better than Siege? Debatable. Is it good? Absolutely not. In just two episodes,, this show hits us with the most baffling vocal performances yet, a slew of new old characters to ruin, time travel, even more Airazor disrespect, character arc sparknotes so sloppy it gave us whiplash, and beast modes that somehow don't really look any better than they did in 1996. Also the most incredible IMDB synopsis ever put to screen, and a theory about Waspinator's place in the world. Noise Space | Discord
Both The Times and Sky News have reported on a landmark ruling from the Office for Students (OfS), which has fined the University of Sussex a record £585,000 for “serious and significant” free speech failings in the case of Professor Kathleen Stock, accused of ‘transphobia' for her gender-critical views. Professor Stock was forced out of the university in 2021 after a three-year campaign of bullying and character assassination. The OfS's report denounces Sussex's “trans and non-binary equality” statement for undermining academic freedom and creating a “chilling effect”. The report goes on: “An example of this effect in practice is the experience of Professor Stock. There were some views she did not feel able to express, and therefore teach, despite those views being lawful. Other staff and students may have felt similarly unable to express these, or other, lawful views.” Sussex's Vice-Chancellor Sasha Roseneil reacted furiously, accusing the OfS of “free speech absolutism”. In our next item, reported in The Telegraph, we discuss an inclusivity guide issued to employees of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) says that the “myth of meritocracy” asserts “race does not play a role in life successes” – and that the “belief that performance alone will be enough to earn recognition [and] promotion” can be a “microaggression”. In fact, even just saying “I believe the most qualified person should get the job” can count as “racial harassment”. We end with the news that Rangers FC is threatening lifetime bans after a group of fans displayed a banner reading “KEEP WOKE FOREIGN IDEOLOGIES OUT DEFEND EUROPE” during a recent Europa League tie at Ibrox. UEFA swiftly fined Rangers £25,000, describing the banner as “racist and/or discriminatory”. The story is discussed in Spiked by our digital communications director, Freddie Attenborough. If you're a Rangers fan under investigation – or know someone who is – contact the FSU at help@freespeechunion.org. We end the episode with a round-up of forthcoming FSU events. ‘That's Debatable!' is edited by Jason Clift.
Chris LeBeau is the owner of Decoding Cocktails, a cocktail education business. In this episode, he talks about being a dreamer, doing it for yourself, big thoughts, the understanding of motivation, and knowing your pain thresholds.I'm Chris LeBeau and I run a cocktail education business. I didn't enter this industry until I was 38. Before that, I spent years in jobs that involved suits, PowerPoints, and too many meetings. I was good at wearing suits. The rest? Debatable.I'm am an intensely passionate person who takes both learning and fun very seriously. This has, at times, made me an odd fit in corporate settings. Turns out, enthusiasm and curiosity don't always pair well with boardrooms. But they do go well with entertaining and teaching.I got into cocktails because a book showed me how simple they can be to make, and I wanted to share that with my friends. One thing led to another, and somehow, this became a business. For all the romanticization of entrepreneurship, Marc Andreessen sums it up best: "Entrepreneurs only ever experience two emotions: euphoria and terror." I've found that to be viscerally true. The upside? These are also the moments when you feel most alive. To balance this boozy rollercoaster, I have a never miss morning coffee routine, meditate and swim (sometimes), cook, and send my friends a mix of absurd and heartfelt messages. With the FSU's support, the Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation – Rick Prior – is suing his own union after he was ‘cancelled' for suggesting frontline officers are increasingly nervous about challenging people from ethnic minorities whom they suspect of breaking the law, given the spate of internal investigations into officers accused of being ‘racist'. Following an interview on GB News in October 2024 which led to his suspension, Mr Prior was also locked out of his emails and IT system and told he wasn't allowed to speak to the press or comment on social media. As reported in The Telegraph and with the backing of the FSU, Mr Prior is taking legal action against the Police Federation of England & Wales and you can support Rick here. In other news, on Monday 17th March, the Online Safety Act's latest phase of duties came into force. They require social media platforms – on pain of massive fines – to identify and remove illegal content. Sites must complete risk assessments detailing how they deal with illegal material and implement safety measures to deal with the risk. The Telegraph reports that dozens of small internet forums have already blocked British users or shut down as new online safety laws come into effect, with one comparing the new regime to a British version of China's “great firewall”. Interestingly, the importance of internet forums and online anonymity was raised at our ‘From Faith to Faithless' event last week. When labouring under the pervasive influence of a ‘high control' religion, anonymous online communication becomes an essential ingredient for those taking their first tentative steps back to the wider world. ‘That's Debatable!' is edited by Jason Clift.
In a major win for workplace free speech, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) have abandoned plans to impose new diversity and inclusion rules on financial firms after strong pushback, including from the FSU. Had the proposals gone ahead, they would have placed sweeping new obligations on a significant portion of the UK's financial sector. In January 2024, we responded to two parallel consultations (here and here), warning that the proposals would create a climate where employees felt unable to challenge radical progressive orthodoxies on a cluster of issues without fear of professional consequences. Our response to the FCA consultation was submitted via its online portal, but you can read our letter to the PRA here. We move on to discuss the case of Ben Woods, a member of the Free Speech Union (FSU), who has worked at Waitrose's Henley branch in Oxfordshire for 25 years, having joined the supermarket as a teenager. However, after accusing its long-serving employee of misconduct over a dossier of more than 30 social media posts, the company has now swiftly suspended him. The case was reported in both The Telegraph and The Mail and you can support Ben's s fundraiser page here. Thames Valley Police have admitted acting unlawfully in arresting an adult-education teacher at a local proclamation of the accession of King Charles in September 2022. Symon Hill, 47, was going home from church in Oxford on the Sunday morning three days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II when he found his way blocked by the ceremony. Following the public declaration of Charles as king, he called out from the back of the crowd: “Who elected him?” He then pursued legal action for wrongful arrest and has finally won his case, together with £2,500 in compensation. Now a trainee Baptist minister, Mr Hill (somewhat understatedly) said that he'd been “surprised” by the entire affair and by the two-and-a-half years it had taken the police to admit their mistake. We end the episode with a discussion on a report in The Telegraph that Donald Trump issued a sweeping executive order last Friday gutting the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) – Voice of America's parent agency – and several other government departments. ‘That's Debatable!' is edited by Jason Clift.

A man arrested for burning a copy of the Koran in Bradford will not face charges, following intervention by the Free Speech Union. The man arrived in Britain as an asylum-seeker and, ironically, he was fleeing religious persecution in a Muslim majority country. After he uploaded a video of himself burning a Koran in a symbolic stand for freedom of speech and against Islamic extremism, West Yorkshire Police reacted swiftly – not to protect his right to protest, but to arrest him on suspicion of committing a criminal offence. The FSU intervened immediately, instructing a solicitor and covering our member's legal fees. After several months, the police have now told him they'll be taking no further action. Freddie Attenborough, our Digital Communications Director, has written about the case at length for The Conservative Woman. We are encouraging our supporters to write to their MP to encourage them to support an amendment tabled by The Opposition to scrap Clause 18 of the Employment Rights Bill. Clause 18 is a dangerous escalation in speech policing, disguised as a way to ‘protect' vulnerable workers. It will force British businesses to monitor customer conversations or risk being sued for ‘third-party harassment'. Next, two recent stories from Cardiff University could serve as a parable for all that's going wrong in British higher education. Either that, or a “Go Broke, Go Woke” parody. In story one, the university has announced plans to cut 400 academic jobs. In story two, there's now a mandatory EDI module for all first-year Cardiff students. In other words, at the same time as the university is trying to get rid of academics who could teach students to think critically about received wisdoms, it's somehow found the money to help EDI zealots impose them as dogma. The module provides a comprehensive guide to EDI-speak. Out, for example, go such “microaggressions” as complimenting somebody on their English. Also out are any idioms with an offensive ‘origin story'. We end the episode with a round-up of forthcoming FSU events. ‘That's Debatable!' is edited by Jason Clift.

Just so we're all clear, it is a fully established fact that the IDF is directly, deliberately killing civilians in Gaza. There was a time in the early days of the genocide when this could be disputed, but that is no longer true. The facts are in and the case is closed. It's happening. Reading by Tim Foley.

“Seth Meyers And the Cauldron of Doom” OMG— YOU have a cauldron of doom?! I have a cauldron of doom!!! DO NOT SHAKE THIS SNOWGLOBE. I had been avoiding Rockefeller plaza for months as it was, without the sometimes accidental ending up there anyway, and I thought not once but twice or three times about changing into my regular pants so that the deep pockets could hold my keys and passports sans wallet— or a purse and considered taking a notebook as well; on the list of prohibited items were backpacks and large bags, and though the dress code seemed to be null in void at all, I was happy to be able to wear my hat at least— and almost prepared to be dogged out, the last min it e change into my harem pants would probably be the comfortable choice; looking intentionally dressed down as a statement—a broad statement that I wasn't looking to be noticed at all, or trying to be noticed. The guest for the show was nearly an EGOT winner, probably younger, and definitely skinner and more beautiful than I was; a black woman, but a British woman, and it would be almost entirely impossible to think that besides Whoopi Goldberg, an American black woman would strive to win such a thing as an EGOT herself. Still, I was looking for a cure to the writer's block and crippling depression that I had been in, however—knowing who the president of Peacock was, and after the elections at all's though I knew NBC to be left-leaning— I didn't feel at all as if I would ever belong on the stage, and was quite happily taking my place as simply a fan…and audience member, though ready to creep back into obscurity, and probably more likely than not with a pint of Ben and Jerry's after the show. I had gone to see Drew Barrymore sand makeup, and would do the same, but only as a proclamation that I had read Tina Fey's book nearly religiously now rounding three times, and I almost wish I had an oversized black t-shirt which read “hot water heater” to accompany my lax look and blonde hair—a testament to her correctness standing, as the grossities of tinder loved “the blonde”, almost as if, without the hair I would be ugly, and just as much in the same breath, unworthy of such status anyway. But more than anything, I just wanted to be able to write again, at least for my own sake, and certainly not for anyone else's. I was still in hiatus, for the better, and had not completely recovered from the unbearable racism and parallel of doom the election had tossed me into with trajectory—in this world—supposedly “fascist”. I was comfortable enough in the jeans, but had nowhere to put my phone. I was ready to be dogged out and shown what a real a list celebrity looked like, and why I simply wasn't one. I left the house with a sink full of dishes, an unmade bed, and a pile of laundry unfolded—a pile of books in boxes I had collected for my son but would cost too much to send—almost as a testament to his sick I had been since the election. In this world, I was just another poor black fat single mother— a dead beat living in poverty. In trump's world, I was an ugly, poor nothing. Everywhere I had gone about the past week, the rich seemed richer and the poor poorer, the whites whiter and the blacks blacker, good gone and evil fleeting, with the return of the motorcycles and pieces of me dying, simply giving up. I planned my return to the workforce, and the eventual fortitude of my freedom; the wealthy had become more arrogant, and the rest of us more distraught. What was I going to rocketfeller plaza for, anyway? The news. My apartment was disgusting, but at least I had been to the gym—I had run the full mile and lifted and pulled, all with the gym to myself. My harem pants still felt even better, and for the first time in me months I ventured into the world in only one waist trainer. Be prepared to be [lost in a revolving door Be cool to the two dudes in blue suits goddamnit I never know where I'm going in this bitch. I can never breath in this bitch and I don't know why. How do you get lost at the rock? Like this: [Infinitely Lost at Rockafeller Plaza] This is why I avoid this place like the plague. Maybe I'm the plague. First of all, there's no track on the floor upstairs. (I've never been upstairs.) It's just store after store of ways to spend money. This is my only pair of clean socks. No shit, this is the reason practicing your mantras on the train becomes dangerous. DANGEROUS. Somewhere in the frenzy, I remember this. Frequency, however, Not yet partial to my own inner self, and empty in the array of superstardom, I become nothing, Only a spectator of celebrity— And now, suddenly. 8 remember this day Why? Suddenly, now, in the Is moment. Where I always have been, waiting for myself— I avoid Rockerfeller plaza at all costs. Why. I heard a grimlin lives here. Now is the time for Skrillex! I would really love you forever if you didn't. Que the Arc! Oh boy, this writer's block is a doozy. The only reason I had even bothered was because it was as if I had been summoned, as if something had clocked in my sense memory where, all of a sudden, looking at an unrelated picture of some kid on Tinee, with his hands covering his mouth the way that Stefon always did, made me immidiately stop whatever I was doing—probably eating tacos or pancakes, insurmountably out of bounds— and pausing the comedian I was watching instead, just to watch Stefon, and in the way that I remembered it all, it made me laugh. Although now, I knew exactly what he was talking about by the avant-grade and strangely abysmal club scene not just of the time, but of any time in New York City— and, somehow summoning a laugh even in the darkness that had been my own distraught and depression in the previous weeks, something of a belly roll laugh might have triggered something in the alrgorithm to send last minute tickets to my email in almost that exact moment. Are they going to tell me to take off my hat?! There was no dress code, They had better not tell me to take off my motherfucking hat. I won't do it. Fuck Seth Meyers . I'm not taking off my hat for Seth Meyers. Oh yeah. That's why I'm here. I found it hard to say that I was there for such a thing; I— I turned off my peripheral vision and hyperfocus. I didn't know there would be music. Goddammit. I had deleted Shazam filming for I love New York, an all but abandoned project—the writer's block had been too real, and now the real rest had come—would I laugh at anything in show show when in reality I wanted to cry? The way the lights kept going up and down as if it were intermission only slightly distracted from the fact that I had never seen a page in real life. THEY EXIST . I had never seen an actual NBC PAGE. GODDAMMIT GET THIS BLUE SUIT LOAFER WEARING MOTHERFUCKER OUT OF MY PERIPHERAL BEFORE I LOSE IT. Shoot a midget at her. What. Just do it. Don't do that. What Don't put the midget in the cannon. What! Thays's what he's here for! I'm a stunt double! This is a stunt. That's a horrible joke. That's not a joke. SHAZAM. WTF IS THIS. Some top 40 bullshit. Good, get it ( I'm never going to have any other l exposure to top 40, ever in my life. ) Congratulations, you've made the A list What?! NO FAIR. What. What does that mean. It means I can't do shit and mandatory attendance to everything. What is everything “Everythin—g.” Man, fuck this. Alright At this moment, I realize I must be some sort of autistic. Let's get this over with… I let the sound of my own mix blare in my ears to drown out the sound of whatever pop singer was on over the loud speakers; I didn't realize there would be music, and I hoped the flutter was good l. Maybe it was the lights, or whatever, but— SUNNI BLU what in the fuck dimention is this . It's the same dimension, you're just drunk. Ah. Now what? I was as uncomfortable as ever, there was a track on the higher level, but it didn't matter, the cattle call was contained inside of velvet ropes— black ones, unlike the typical red ones, and it was at this point I realized that not only had I never seen actual NBC pages— Yo, their skirts are kinda short… RIGHT. I THOUGHT THE PAGES WERE THE PARAGON OF SANCTITY! No, those are, um… Nvm. Maybe the ugly shoes distract from the shortness of their skirts on the general basis. Oh come on, nobody gives a fuck how ugly your shoes are if your skirt is that short! These are facts, Liz. No, I'm serious what dimention is this. I already told you. I had to ask for directions three times just get here. THIS IS MY LEVEL. why is your level on acid. Cause. This is—just— Where I'm at. CUT TO: Jimmy Fallon after Mardi Gras's. Come on that's not fair! {Enter The Multiverse} What exactly isn't fair?! He's in all the scenes. Well, how else are you going to explain a time traveling helicopter?! Got him. THERES MY INVISIBLE MOTORCYCLE. I'm not going to pa— Goddamn it. I'm not going to p— It actually hurt not to write and just stand there; but I still didn't feel like myself—or sound like myself—or look like myself; I was playing a character, I just didnt know who. As I moved forward in line, the music began to fade away behind me and into the nothingness that was whatever was behind, in front of, and all around me. I hated cattle calls, but after all, I was still just a fan and as the world began to fold into chaos, I realized that my pants were falling off of me, though I had been feeling fat, and walking, and running, and cycling, and protein shaking—the only thing that had gained any extra weight was my ass, which was exactly what I was intending on hiding with my same old usual harems. My blonde hair made it so that I stuck out like a sore thumb, but that didn't matter, I was a walking statement piece and almost in a fit of tears just thinking about my own status; the NBC pages probably all had crazy incredible accolades and numerous degrees and achievements—what was I, if anything at all— ? I had put the candles out, but had I left the stove on? Did I really unplug the nail dryer and leave the stove on? I had almost washed all of the dishes, but stopped just short of right on time to leave; my producer brain was on fire and wanted more pancakes, but however hard I tried I could not find where I had placed my EBT card; probably for the better—celebrities didn't carry EBT cards, and even my awkward general being thrown off by the doorman or security— —whichever I wasn't sure— standing outside of the roller rink— probably ice this time of year, by the looks of the Zamboni in the foreground of it… ‘Don't stop writing, no matter what. ‘ Dammit, dammit dammit— That seems inappropriate. I told you to get this motherfucker out of my peripheral before something— Nevermind, don't write that. [redacted] (But imma remember this shit cause it's heavy.) A remarkable and accidental tableau, My feet flat to the floor, as my ankles bare, This is my only pair of hole-less socks. I feel so much better with my back against the wall and Listening to mau5 and, Not giving a fuck about the music playing Or the people watching But keeping it for later Forgetting how to codeswitch, Just an ever so limited existence Trying not to stick out like a sore thumb in the wrong world It's a long way up, But even longer way down, And in all the demoralizing humiliation and emasculation, I realize I'm no man at all, No man at all I realize I'm no man at all, No man at all, No mana I realized my son's Lego Lamborghini should be waiting for me as I returned to my apartment in Brooklyn probably starting but pretending not to care; I winced at everything— this was a dangerous disaster, to even be in the building at all and edging closer to death were the secrets I kept that were not only secrets, but non existences. Nothing in nothing and nothing— Oh shit, is the suffering done? This is the end of the End of the end It's the Beginning of the end It's the end of the beginning This will be the end Of the end Of the end, This will be the end of the end Of the end Of the end Of the beginning Of the end Of the beginning of the end. The apparatus I entered in with Is not adjusted to this condition The biometrics are non concurrent; {enter the multiverse} I felt tragic. By the time I got back to my apartment, my ribcage was showing again—although I had only been wearing one waist trainer, it was the skimpy one, and it was already wearing, it was after all eight dollars. Really and once and for all, something had come over me at Rockerfeller plaza that I didn't understand. I was more awkward and nervous than usual, and sure that I should have eaten, but couldn't —even after a long gym session, there was no time for food before the show, and I had no stomach for it. I chose to as much as I could ignore the code switching, and the more I picked it up, the further my mind began to drift. —a door slammed. My documents were probably compromised, and my phone hacked which I might have guessed, but continuing the thought I had often wondered how or why anything could have possibly known what I had written, or how—or how anyone would know what I had written, or of the things I had written, and most importantly of all—what did I write?! Most of the previous months' entries into the festival project were a blank, and the time I had spent considerably enough sifting through whatever masked man acting in part of Fallon, whoever he really was had been turbulent, as if I had been disfigured to be brainwashed into half a mind—then, slowly peeking back the layers of such a chaotic artifact of time and this, Seth Meyers, to whom now I had become a loyal fan, an actual fan—and had noticed something ingenuously crafted here. A genuine and talented, very kind and gifted man, who was not in any sense miserable or in peril. Peril, so to speak, as I remembered the almost villainous approach that the decent into madness had accompanied this Fallon and his mask, and besides this was the assumption that Seth Meyers, though professionally trained as such, seemed happy. Fallon did not. We had all learned to craft masks in order to protect our inner selves—however, with such a veil lifted as the partitioned screen of all does, this spoke to me with numerous volumes and sometimes even screamed, with the ethics of no worse a gentleman than some surgeon soldier or sailor and no more a nobleman than a king or god itself; I had not been Shocked and all but murmured even to just the slightest gawk of just an awkward cry, a muster of some shallow disaster which had called me to all of them— to whom I had loved and yet somehow not known, at least being here—and here I was, slightly convulsed, bearing no armor and gripping at the fortitude of death's barriers; On wheels with no bearings plummeted towards a forged death of sorts, by my own hands but also at the hands of others, the forgery calling from the halls of a place I had known as once my own fortress; but was no more. I belonged and now, almost with gratitude, to the eye of all gods, and all things that moved. No cherished nature, perhaps, was this into my own eye, but of disgust for what I had not yet accomplished, and still might never— I was a skull and crossbones with no love, and nothing known at all besides my own. —Tales of a superstar DJ “16 Songs” I got it. What's that. The thing that sets Seth Meyers apart from the other hosts. What is it? Seth Meyers is not a host—he's an anchor. Goddammit, you're right . I know I'm right. GODDAMIT. It just took me this long to figure it out . Great. Now how long's it gonna get you to take this thing fixed. Possibly forever. STORIES OF RESILIENCE Meningitis Survivors and Advocates Share Their Journeys Welcome to another special and poignant episode of the Destiny is Debatable podcast. As we acknowledge World Meningitis Day on October 5th, we are honored to present a collection of heartfelt stories from around the globe, shared by individuals whose lives have been profoundly affected by meningitis. Christine Bennborn from Sweden recounts the harrowing experience of losing her son, Mathias, to meningitis and sepsis in 2019. Driven by this tragedy, Christine founded Meningokockfonden in Sweden, dedicating herself to spreading awareness and advocating for better vaccination policies. From Georgia, Shaquille Hodge, who transformed his grief into action after his wife, Percilla, succumbed to meningitis while they were on vacation. Shaquille established the PAMAH Foundation, named in honor of his wife, to educate and raise awareness about this silent killer through car shows and scholarship programs. Katie Thompson, a meningitis survivor from South Carolina, who faced excruciating pain and near-death but emerged as a passionate patient advocate. Helen Mark visits 50 square miles that were neither England nor Scotland. The Debatable Lands, between Carlisle and Gretna, were home to untameable crime families that petrified the most powerful of Lords and Kings. For hundreds of years governments in London and Edinburgh left the region to its own laws and moral codes. When they did intervene, the result was an explosion of violence that's still visible in the landscape of derelict towers and still audible in the Border Ballads collected by Walter Scott.Author, Graham Robb guides Helen through the region's complex history and Ian Scott Martin takes her to the ramparts of Gilnockie Tower- the fearsome stronghold of the Armstrong family, one of the most notorious clans of Border Reivers. The Union of the Crowns in the early 17th century brought the age of the Debatable Land to an end, ushering in a long period of peace broken abruptly in 1915. On the Western Front the British Army was running out of shells. In Westminster the government fell and the decision was made to build an enormous 9 mile long munitions factory, stretching across the region. Rebecca Short of the Devil's Porridge Museum guides Helen around the remains of the industrial landscape in which 30,000 people- 16,000 of them women- worked in the production of the cordite that propelled shells across the battlefields of Belgium and France. The western tip of the Debatable Land reaches out to the saltmarshes of the Solway Firth. This apparently peaceful landscape soon yields its secrets. The land is constantly battered and transformed by the tides while animals and plants have to adapt to survive the harsh and dynamic conditions. Helen explores the creeks, bogs and rivers with David Pickett of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Chris Miles of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland.Producer: Alasdair Cross

In today's world, it seems like politicians have mastered the art of distorting the truth. They often use clever language and manipulative tactics to present themselves in the best possible light, while casting their opponents as completely unworthy of trust. The media, often driven by its own agenda, only adds to the confusion, making it difficult to know who's really telling the truth. But as Christians—and people of faith—we're called to a higher standard. We're not meant to just accept what's said at face value. Scripture tells us to use discernment, to search for truth, and to seek justice in the midst of corruption and deceit. So how do we navigate this mess? How do we sift through the noise to find what's real, and align our understanding with God's truth? In this week's episode, we're going to fact check tonight's debate between U.S. presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris and explore these questions in order to discuss how we can better engage with politics and the media without losing our moral compass.
This Week, Keb and Beebs weather the storm as St. Joe is on yet another vacation.

Truth Be Told with Booker Scott – Regardless of what the White House press secretary may say, we see the 81-year-old frail American president unable to get into a suburban or shuffle across the tarmac. We hear his mumbling speeches and outbursts at reporters. Our eyes and ears aren't lying to us; the MSM and this administration are. His failing health makes a Biden debate win easy. He will be proclaimed the...
