Is this the ultimate tripod head for hunters? The Wiser Precision Ridge Warden might be the most practical hybrid tripod head on the market — lightweight, strong, and uniquely capable of both glassing and shooting with its pan, tilt, and cant functionality. In this in-depth review, I test it with a Kowa 88 spotter and my rifle setup to see if it really replaces the need for separate glassing and shooting heads. We break down what works, what doesn't, and who this product is really for.

We also explore a clever browser tool that might just expose whether you can actually hear the difference between FLAC and MP3 (brace yourself), before getting hands-on with the futuristic Turtle Beach MC7 wireless mouse, yes, it's got a touchscreen. Retro lovers, you're eating good too, as SNK teases a modern take on the NeoGeo AES, blending nostalgia with new-school convenience. Make a folder on the card, say "Video Parent". Put the .nomedia file in that folder. Make another folder off of "Video Parent" called, say "Ted's Videos". Put all the video files in there (in nested folder structure if you like), then get VLC (or other players) to reindex from that folder, not the first. So Google Photos (and the Android system) ignores "Ted's Videos" (because of the .nomedia file in that folder) and the thumbnails are not littered through the Google Photos App. And VLC (and any other Media Playing app) is happy once pointed to Ted's Videos (and sub-folders) and indexed again. The trick was nesting one folder in another and putting the .nomedia file in the first one, then flowing the nest of folders further down the tree. Producer Eric joins Travis in the newly rearranged studio to vent about a brutal budget-airline trip that destroyed camera gear, froze passengers on the tarmac, and turned a simple flight into a four‑and‑a‑half‑hour odyssey via Denver. Along the way, the two dig into how airlines design systems that feel impossible to navigate, and what tradeoffs are actually worth paying for when you travel a lot for business. This is a funny, highly relatable episode for anyone who flies budget carriers to save money but pays for it in time, stress, and broken equipment. On this episode we talk about: How Frontier destroyed their tripod and sent Joanna on an hour‑long customer service loop with zero resolution. Why airline support systems feel intentionally designed to avoid helping you (and how that shows up at baggage desks and hotlines). Eric's nightmare cold-weather boarding experience in Denver, with wheelchairs, crying kids, and 20 minutes freezing on the tarmac. The real economics and ethics of ultra‑cheap flights, from standing‑room “saddle seats” to charging passengers to use the restroom. Which travel “extras” are actually essential (TSA PreCheck, lounges) versus non‑essential depending on how often you fly. Top 3 Takeaways Budget airlines might save you money on the ticket, but they often cost you far more in broken gear, time delays, and emotional energy, especially if you fly for work. Airline customer service loops are often structured to deflect responsibility, so if you choose ultra‑low‑cost carriers, you need to assume minimal support when things go wrong. For frequent travelers, paying for things like TSA PreCheck and lounge access can be a worthwhile investment in comfort, productivity, and sanity—even if the base fare is higher. Notable Quotes “Basically you have built a system that is designed to not help anybody do anything.” “I paid 78 bucks five years ago so I never have to go in the regular line.” “I'll pay the extra money for a better seat on Frontier just so I can get a direct flight—even though I know it's not going to be a great experience.” Connect with Travis: • LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/travischappell • Linktree: https://linktr.ee/travischappell • Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/travischappell • Other: https://travischappell.com Travis Makes Money is made possible by High Level – the All-In-One Sales & Marketing Platform built for agencies, by an agency. EP 106 – NRL Part Deux, Accessories is where we stop talking about rifles and ammo and start talking about everything that actually supports the shot. This episode is all about buying time and building a system that works under pressure. We break down why handheld rangefinders just aren't cutting it anymore in blind stages and why laser rangefinding binos with onboard ballistics have become the standard if you want to stay competitive. It's not about flexing expensive gear. It's about eliminating wasted movement, wasted seconds, and unnecessary mistakes. From there we get into the rest of the support setup. Tripods, bags, bipods, pack layout, and even pants. What actually helps you move faster, build better positions, and see what's happening downrange. We talk through why a quality tripod isn't optional, why lightweight bags solve more problems than people admit, and how small details in your setup can either buy you time or cost you the stage. We also pull back the curtain a bit on the industry side, touching on Federal Excise Tax, complete rifles vs barreled actions, and why some business decisions in the firearms world aren't as simple as they look from the outside. The theme is simple. Time is your biggest enemy. Build a setup that gives you more of it. We kicked things off by butchering the Jaws theme on plastic recorders—which we’ve decided are essentially musical sewer pipes—before pivoting to the high-brow realization that physics is actually God’s art museum and humans are just the ones writing the placards. We spent a good chunk of time roasting Hollywood for its recycled plots, rebranding Jaws as the "ultimate fishing film" and realizing Avatar is just a blue-tinted Fern Gully where the characters use their tails as universal adapters. Our nostalgia took us back to the glory days of mastering the "tripod" head-prop to nap in geometry class without face-planting, a skill far more useful than our Gen X school fundraisers involving "high-quality" trash bags and overpriced wrapping paper. To wrap up, we lamented the fact that taking a sick chicken to an exotic vet costs $250—proving yogurt is the only affordable healthcare for poultry—and left everyone on a spicy cliffhanger regarding our upcoming deep-dive into the scandalous world of black pepper.

What actually separates a professional guide from a good hunter?Cliff and Jay Scott break down how real experience changes judgment. Calm under pressure, controlling variables, and why most missed shots are process failures. Not shooter failures. The Tricer micro-panning device we discuss at the end of the video, Use CLIFFG for 10% off: https://tricer.com/products/tricer-360From there, the discussion moves into distance, animal awareness, and the concept of the “bubble.” Cliff and Jay explain why getting closer is not always better, especially for wary species like Coues deer. Staying outside an animal's awareness buys time, reduces mistakes, and creates higher-probability shots. This is not about extreme distance. It is about efficiency and control. The back half of the episode shifts into gear and optics. They break down real use cases for image-stabilized binoculars and spotting scopes, where they help, where they don't, and why tripods are not going anywhere. The conversation stays grounded in actual field application, not marketing claims. The episode closes on perspective. Part 2: Forgiveness as the Foundation of RecoveryKeton Douglass rejoins Mike and Glenn for the conclusion of their two-part discussion, focusing on the core themes of forgiveness, healing, and addiction through her work with the iTHIRST initiative. As a theologian, Douglass asserts that a lack of forgiveness is a destructive venom that actively threatens recovery, noting that the emotional weight of resentment primarily harms oneself.Key insights from the conversation:The Power of Forgiveness: By unlearning childhood wounds and embracing the concept of a loving, forgiving Higher Power, deep healing becomes possible. The message is simple: if God can forgive, so can we.Clearing Resentments: Turning toward a Higher Power helps clear away resentments and resists the temptation of idolatry, leading to a path of righteousness. The Tripod of Wellness: True freedom requires surrender and work, balancing the three pillars of wellness: Spirituality, Mental, and Physical health.Prayer and Work: The solution for the hurting lies in combining spiritual work, specifically prayer, with concrete effort. Finally, Douglass shares her involvement in the upcoming TV show, Unshackled, on the Shalom World Network.

Palace Intrigue delivers devastating family breakdown revelations as Princess Eugenie is spotted laughing in Notting Hill just days after her father's title stripping—in stark contrast to sister Beatrice's "somber" Royal Lodge visit. Sources expose the famous "tripod" relationship between Sarah Ferguson and her daughters is now "more strained" as both princesses retain their HRH titles, with King Charles determined to protect his nieces from the "sins of the father."Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson spirals into crisis, "blaming herself" and repeating "what if I hadn't done this, or hadn't done that" while considering fleeing the UK as "invitations have dried up overnight." Shocking details reveal Royal Lodge is "surrounded by Amazon deliveries" with "rooms full of boxes that haven't even been opened" that "will take weeks, if not months to shift."Plus, explosive revelations that Ghislaine Maxwell played matchmaker between Andrew and Australian PR queen Emma Gibbs in 2000—who then created floral arrangements for BOTH daughters' weddings. Royal expert confirms Andrew must now bow to his own daughters, while 52% of Britons believe Charles should force Andrew to testify in America about Epstein.Hear our new show "Crown and Controversy: Prince Andrew" here.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.
A media storm engulfs the House of York. Vanity Fair's new editor reportedly softens coverage of Beatrice and Eugenie, Dickie Arbiter brands Andrew “arrogant” and “a bully,” and Prince Harry is said to be privately worried for his cousins as the Epstein scandal deepens. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson considers leaving Britain after her once-close bond with her daughters fractures, and Palace insiders say the couple's chaotic move from Royal Lodge could take months. With “brand rescue” teams circling, the York family's future looks increasingly uncertain.Hear our new show "Crown and Controversy: Prince Andrew" here.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.
