The holiday season is here and I know for many of you this can cause a lot of anxiety around your relationship food, fitness, and your body. Many women want to take a healthy approach to the holiday season, which I completely support. But, for some, the health approach they think they are taking isn't actually all that healthy. The approach is more obsessive and is actually fueling their negative relationship with food, fitness, and their body. That's why I would like to explain which habits aren't healthy and how you can actually navigate the holidays in a healthy, balanced, and enjoyable way.    What I discussed:    The healthy habits that are actually obsessive are… Working off the “extra” cookies or pie you ate. Working out so you deserve to eat the cookies or pie.  Not eating all day because you know you have a holiday party to go to. Eating less the next day because of what you ate the day before. Using all your willpower to avoid the holiday foods.  Giving up and going all in until January 1st. The 6 steps to taking an actual healthy and balanced approach are…   Step 1: Get your macros counted.  Step 2: Budget your macros. Step 3: Focus on protein Step 4: Keep the same workout plan.  Step 5: Be consistent.  Step 6: If you get off track, just get back on track. Are your priorities actually your priorities? I know for myself, I oftentimes think something is a priority, yet when I stop and audit my life, I realize I'm not actually prioritizing it. I also know that when I do prioritize it, I feel SO MUCH BETTER. So, let's chat about priorities and find out whether our not we are actually prioritizing them AND what we can do to start making them more of a priority. To start, I need you to look at your life and what you deem your priorities to be. If someone asked you what you prioritize most in your life, how would you answer that? From there, the easiest way to see whether or not you are actually prioritizing your priorities is by monitoring your time. Because the truth is, how we spend our time is based on what we prioritize, whether we like it nor not. So, what do you think your priorities are? How are you spending your time? Do the two align? If not, ask yourself if your priorities are actually your priorities. If they are, then ask yourself how you can start making time for them. I love doing that because it makes me feel like I am in charge of my life and that I get to decide what goes and what stays. Just when you decided what you wear every day. But sorting through physical clutter comes emotional clutter that we are often not thinking about. As we approach midlife, some of us menopause we have accumulated a ton of emotional clutter attached to stuff.
