Het daagde hen uit als ouders om echt te luisteren naar hun buikgevoel en naar wat August hen wou vertellen. Wat volgde was een immense groei. Delphine groeide van: “Ik ga kunstvoeding geven”, tot jarenlang borstvoeding. Ze was de eerste in haar omgeving die het zó aanpakte en heeft zo veel zaadjes geplant. Tijdens haar tweede zwangerschap koos Delphine bewust voor een grondige voorbereiding. Ze volgde de cursussen van Buikgewoel en vond steun bij mede-cursisten. Ze veranderde op 38 weken nog van ziekenhuis omdat ze voelde dat dat nodig was om in de best mogelijke omstandigheden te kunnen baren.
