The This Is Temporary podcast is a refreshing and necessary addition to the world of mental health podcasts. It provides a platform for individuals to share their personal experiences with mental health struggles in a safe and open environment. The honesty and openness displayed by the guests on this podcast is truly inspiring and liberating for listeners who may be seeking solace or understanding in their own journey. This podcast is an essential source of positivity, offering a unique perspective on the challenges many face in regards to mental health. By listening to these first-hand accounts, it becomes evident that there is hope and support available for those struggling with their mental well-being.

One of the best aspects of the This Is Temporary podcast is its ability to create a sense of safety and comfort for its listeners. The host, Lacy, does an exceptional job at setting a welcoming tone and encouraging her guests to openly discuss their experiences. Her empathy and understanding shine through in every episode, providing an atmosphere where vulnerability is welcomed rather than judged. This creates a space where listeners who may feel isolated or misunderstood can find solace and connection, knowing they are not alone in their struggles. The positivity emanating from each episode is infectious, reminding us all that there is strength in sharing our stories.

While the This Is Temporary podcast excels in many areas, one potential downside could be its limited range of perspectives. Although each guest provides unique insights into their own experiences with mental health, it would be beneficial to hear from individuals with differing backgrounds or perspectives. Including a wider range of voices could provide an even more comprehensive understanding of mental health issues and offer greater representation for diverse communities. However, it's important to note that this critique does not overshadow the value and impact this podcast has already created.

In conclusion, the This Is Temporary podcast deserves recognition for its significant contribution to destigmatizing conversations around mental health. It serves as an empowering reminder that no one has to struggle alone and that there is strength in vulnerability. By providing a platform for individuals to share their stories, this podcast creates a sense of safety and community that is invaluable to those navigating mental health challenges. The This Is Temporary podcast has the power to inspire and encourage listeners to embrace their own journeys with mental health, while also fostering understanding and empathy among its audience.

A precious time having one of my best friends, Dallas James Pritt, on the podcast the week of his first single's release!! Dallas is a very vulnerable mental health advocate on top of his action-packed career as an actor, choreographer and singer. His song, "Somehow (Beautiful to Me)" - composed and written by Joey Contreras - inspires hope while providing a vessel of emotional release and relatability. Dallas made sure that this song would be honest about the pain and insecurities he's faced along the way; and how those wounds became steps guiding him towards breakthroughs of joy and self-acceptance. Cannot wait for you all to enjoy this gift of a pure heart's truest expression through music. There's also his short film "A Heart's Calling" that illuminates the experience of queerness in an often close-minded Christian environment. It is available to stream on YouTube.I am so proud of you Dallas! IG: @thisistemporarypodcast & @lahartsellewww.thisistemporarypodcast.comIntro/Outro Song: "Waves" by Logan Bowden

What a gift of time & presence with Valerie Jane Parker

We live in the gray area. In uncertainty. Even though cognitive distortions may try to convince us, or have us trying to convince others, that things are black or white, it's really all shades of gray. This episode was filmed on a darker gray day, but it still was gray. It was a very tough, panic stricken day - but it was not all bad. I still went on a walk with my husband and enjoyed the company of my dog and some saltine crackers and sprite to calm by anxious stomach.  Gray. And temporary, of course. IG: @thisistemporarypodcast & @lahartsellewww.thisistemporarypodcast.comIntro/Outro Song: "Waves" by Logan Bowden

He's always wrestled with depression and anxiety, but he found what would help him cope when he discovered improv comedy. Improv teaches us to face our fears/anxieties, to express and accept ourselves authentically and to be present. These are all things that help with our mental health! T.C. mentioned that as adults, we forget how to embrace our childlike hunger to learn and play because we're too afraid to fail; but it's the courageous action of confronting our fears where we find healing, trust, growth and fun.
