What if the key to unlocking your preaching voice lies not in mimicking others, but in embracing the unique way God has shaped you—through your experiences, challenges, and divine calling? In this episode, recorded during the final session of the Reliance Church in August 2023, Mike Neglia reflects on the unique journey every preacher undertakes in finding their authentic preaching voice. Starting with the humorous challenges he faces as having an unexpected accent, Mike explores how "your voice" in preaching is not just about accent or regional dialect, but the genuine expression of who you are—shaped by both human experience and divine calling. Mike shares personal insights into the development of a preacher's voice, noting how imitation is a natural and essential part of the process, but warns against getting stuck in mere imitation. Drawing from his own life experiences and struggles, including being a parent to a special needs teenager, he highlights how preachers can discover their "sovereign themes"—those deep, personal truths God has worked into their lives, which resonate with authority and impact when shared from the pulpit. This conversation offers practical advice for preachers to reflect on their unique contributions, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and the grace of God in overcoming feelings of inadequacy. Pastor Mike encourages listeners to embrace their God-given voice, sharing how the themes of grace, shame, and the patient love of God have shaped his ministry and teaching. Tune in to hear more about the process of discovering your preaching voice, the balance between human influence and divine guidance, and how to avoid the pitfalls of imitation. "Preaching is the communicating of divine truth through human personality." – Phillips Brooks Key Takeaways: Finding your preaching voice is a journey from imitation to authenticity. Your voice is shaped by both personal experiences and divine calling. Sovereign themes—deep truths God has worked in you—carry unique authority in your preaching. Imitation is a natural part of the learning process but must lead to the discovery of your authentic self. "We discover our voice through a process that starts with imitation and ends with confidence and a distinct, unique, unrepeatable gift of your authentic self." Join me, Nic Torres, as I share my journey from a typical glaze potter to finding my distinct style. I'll share how the pursuit of individuality not only brought me a sense of fulfillment but also drew more people towards my work. Here is another incredible episode from Dr. Joe Vitale of Zero Limits Living TV! Dr. Joe is joined by his special guest Evette Rose, whom is the author of three books. Her original work, Finding Your Own Voice relates to her experience in overcoming the trauma of abuse. Metaphysical Anatomy was written to support alternative practitioners as well as guide the general public to sharpen their skills, knowledge and self-help techniques. Writing her books has helped Evette to reach people in need of support, love, comfort, clarity as well as someone to relate to. She shares her experiences with the world with the intention that it will help provide people with support where they need it most. Her philosophy is that we, as the human race, are not destined to live our lives in pain due to past trauma or abuse. We suppressed our ability to complete and heal trauma naturally and as a result, our true identity is influenced by trauma.During Evette's seminars and client sessions, she assists her clients and students to gently heal and complete old traumas with miraculous, deep and powerful results. People often forget that trauma is something that happened to them, it is not their identity.Be sure to Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more Luxe Content!Download the LuxeTV app to watch anytime, anywhere!

Picture this: a warm July breeze stirs my hair as I sit on the back porch. My toddler, illuminated by moonlight and the twinkle of fireflies, gently spins in circles, hands waving in the air as she moves to the strumming of a guitar mixed with the call of cicadas in the trees. It's the sort of moment that feels infinitely removed from the typical noise of daily life. Here, there are no email alerts, traffic jams, or checklists. Only laughter and contentment. So, at the start of this new year, I'm asking, “how do I get more of these moments and less of the hamster wheel? How can I stop living on other people's terms and tune in to my inner voice?” To explore these questions, I can think of no one better than the strummer of the guitar from that moonlit summer night - my friend and 71-year-old neighbor - Vollie McKenzie. Vollie is a man of many outlets. He spent over 40 years as a mental health professional, plays tennis daily, and is a known performer in the Southeast. He also has a recovery journey of his own that includes life-long struggles with anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphia. I invited him on the podcast to talk about the process of finding his own voice and how that intersects with his mental health journey. Along the way, Vollie will sing and play pivotal songs to guide the narrative. ________________________________ Mental Note Podcast is brought to you by Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Center and Eating Recovery Center. Welcome to another edition of  the Business Owner Elevation podcast! Today, I have another great guest, Mr. Robert Kennedy III. He became a teacher for a while with music groups formed, led and recorded. Robert also started several businesses and really loves technology. He also became a news anchor, classroom teacher, and technology trainer. Now, he works with business leaders who need to connect with their teams, especially on video and uses different tools to help business leaders. The conversation started on some information about Robert as he shared his love for music and how his interest changed. He also shared his experiences before he started being an entrepreneur. Robert shared that he worked in the mental health field for about three years and became a supervisor. Suddenly, he made some realizations and resigned from his job. After being in the mental field, he started teaching science and his career in teaching lasted for 7 years. He certainly enjoyed teaching but he knew that he is not one of those teachers who will last for decades in the field. Soon he started an internet radio station in the early 2000s. And this paved the way for him to think of another business that he can start with, which is incorporated with his love for technology. Find out more about how Robert became a successful entrepreneur with his experiences, creativity, and passion. More tips and strategies from Robert, better to  stay tuned. Enjoy!   FREE!!! Robert will be sharing a document on how you can get people's attention at the beginning of your speech or any presentation. In this episode of The Living Artist, Preston talks about the importance of knowing your art history and learning what has come before you to better understand your place in it all. Taking that a step further, Preston encourages trying on some of your favorite artists' styles, as a powerful learning tool. By figuring out some of their process, you can not only appreciate it more, but also help develop your own unique voice. To be clear, no artist should be copying another artist's work and putting it out into the world as their own. That being said, using it as a device in the studio to hone your own craft, as well as pay homage, is totally acceptable. After all, there is no way to break the mold, without thoroughly examining and defining it first. For more information on Preston M. In this episode, we talk with photojournalist and filmmaker Amanda Mustard about navigating the photojournalism industry, finding her own voice in photography, and realising that you don't need to leave home to tell interesting visual stories. She explains how her transition from Egypt to Thailand has coincided with a transition in the type of work she is pursuing, and how she is doing more storytelling at home. What you'll find inside:“It kinda makes me sad to look back and think of how much time I spent photographing what I thought I was supposed to. And then slowly over time I realised that, you know, I don't think that's exactly where I can contribute anything new” (3:12)“I guess the way I feel is that if I'm going to continue to be a part of this industry, I need to keep working towards and contributing to efforts to make it a place that I feel welcome, and that others feel welcome, because otherwise I lose hope too easily. (10:25)“We have a lot of power when we're holding a camera, especially in communities that we don't belong to, and we will all benefit by taking some time and just being a little bit more thoughtful about those power dynamics (11:18)“But I think that there is this pressure to, like, really dedicate yourself and make being a photographer and identity and put it all on the line, and I really disagree with that. … It's just setting you up for burnout in a lot of ways and it doesn't set you up to be able to do your best work.” (18:08)“I can travel all over the world and look for stories that really mean something and really dig into the nuance of it, but this, you know, inside me is where I have the most strength.” (22:52)What does photo ethics mean to Amanda?“Photography ethics is so important to me because I feel like it is this unwritten contract between the person with the camera and ultimately a lot of the power, and the people that we're taking photos of. And if they're going to give me something, then the ethics ensures that that transaction is respectful and dignified and will ensure that harm does not come to them as a result of the photography.” (31:05)Links:Amanda's GoPro videosFrontline Freelance RegisterACOS AllianceAlex PotterLearn more about Amanda's film

Certainly a way of showing your exploration of your work - and that has to be a good thing!

Since we are justified by faith it means that we are accepted, loved and approved by God entirely on the basis of Christ’s work on our behalf.Pete Nelson speaks on the importance of knowing our identity in Christ, and how that impacts our public ministry and allows us to find our own voice and be comfortable in our own skin. This was recorded in Bradenton Florida on December 1 2018.As a pastor, musician and evangelist, Pete Nelson’s worldwide travels have given him a unique perspective on the church as well as the global need for the gospel. Top 10 (ok 12) Incredible Quotes from Kristin Hancock (@KristinAnneH)“Internal communication...it’s about your employees being fulfilled at work, it’s about how the employee experience is, whether that’s onboarding or training or all those kinds of pieces” - Kristin (4:17)“Part of why I’ve become so passionate about [internal communications] is because I’ve seen the impact in both ways. I’ve seen the really positive impact when you have a thriving culture and employees who are fulfilled and enjoy coming to work everyday. I’ve also seen the other side of it, where people don’t want to go to work everyday and dread being there” - Kristin (4:52)“Are you listening and are you paying attention to what [your employees’] natural state is and what their behavior is? Maybe we’re not. For me that’s the biggest first step, looking back and looking at the big picture but also looking at the little nuances. What is your culture in its default state? … It’s not going to help you to build anything without knowing that” - Kristin (6:33)“Spoiler alert: if you launch a new intranet app, a shiny tool… but your workplace culture sucks, the tool isn’t going to work” - Kristin (11:35)“Finding people within your organization who are champions of your messaging; that is, I think, the secret sauce in launching a new tool, in rolling out a new strategy… on the flip side… leaning into your skeptics can also be incredibly powerful… finding people who are not tech savvy at all… because if you can bring them on early, they will become champions because they will feel empowered, they’ll feel like they’ve learned something new, they’ll be telling everyone else” - Kristin (14:40)“Yes it’s about the technology and it’s about the tool, but it’s so much more about the culture… If you have a culture where leadership controls the message, you likely also have a culture where employees have a fear of owning that message as well. It’s about flipping that whole script so part of it is that leaders are comfortable letting other people be empowered but also letting those other people know that it’s okay for you to comment or post or share or like, those kinds of things” - Kristin (17:46)“Half the reason people watch the Superbowl is for the Superbowl ads… because it’s video, it’s engaging, it’s emotional, it tells a story… If you are in internal comms, then you are in sales and you are in marketing and you are in advertising and you are in PR, and all of those departments use video to sell a product or a service, and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be using video to sell an engagement story or strategy, or a new initiative or tool” - Kristin (23:50)“Do high production value videos have a place in the internal communications world? Of course they do. But… if you have a district manager who once a month shares a message about something and they’re sitting at their desk using their iphone to shoot the video, that’s relatable… it's an easier level playing field” - Kristin (30:12)“In terms of KPIs and what to measure… one of my favorite things to measure on an employee survey… Would you recommend a friend to work here? That’s a really powerful question to ask because if most people are saying no, that means that maybe they’re just sticking it out, going through the motions to keep their paycheck… The other powerful question i love asking is how peopl

When Sarah Brown moved into 10 Downing Street when her husband Gordon became Prime Minister she didn’t think her life would change that much.  Afterall, she’d already been living next door at number 11 for the previous ten years. But her life did change in ways she didn’t expect. Sarah talks about what living behind the big black door, was like both in the role of Prime Minister’s wife and as the Mum of two small children. Since that time Sarah has been busy campaigning for the children’s charity she founded.  Theirworld aims to give children from all over the world the best possible start in life, whatever their circumstances. Sarah also talks about the importance of finding her own voice and how she overcame her fear of public speaking. We also talk about grief and loss.  Sarah and Gordon’s baby girl Jennifer died at just 10 days old.  Sarah has some heartfelt advice for anyone going through a similar situation.   More about Theirworld: theirworld.org Sarah’s Podcast “Better Angels” itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/better-angels-with-sarah-brown Social links: twitter.com/SarahBrownUK twitter.com/theirworld instagram.com/theirworldorg Stay in touch... facebook.com/howshedoesitpodcast instagram.com/how_she_does_it twitter.com/HowShe_Doesit   **Please subscribe so you never miss an episode**
