Jesus sacrifice cleanses us until the end of the ages. When Jesus appears he will not bring a reference to sin to those who are looking for him. Our sin has been paid for for eternity.
Christ enter the presence of God with the sacrifice of His blood. This cleansed the conscience of man. Jesus did this once and for all mankind.
These verse deal with the first or old covenant. Blood was require at that time. It was used to cleanse the tabernacle, the people and all that was in the tabernacle.
Because of Jesus' sacrifice he is the mediator of the new covenant. It paid for the sins of those under the old covenant.
The blood of animals was used to cleanse the flesh but the blood of Jesus cleanses our conscience.
Jesus changed it. He entered the real presence of God. He carried in His Blood as a sacrifice one time for all people. This is eternal redemption.
Things are changing. The Holy Spirit is speaking. The tabernacle and all that took place there in the old covenat was a symbol.
There were two angels that covered and watch over the ark of covenant. The High priest could only ehter once a year and they needed to take blood with them.
The Holy of Holies was behind a veil. It contained the altar of incense, the ark of the covenant and the tablets of covenant. These were things that proved the faithfulness of God.
The old covenant was obsolete. It was not effective any more. It could change a man's heart. The old covenant had its rules and it had a earth made tabernacle. It had the a holy place that segregated people.
The new covenant changes the heart and minds of mankind. The new covenant is made by God for all men. We become God's people
The old covenant had flaws. It could not change man. God promised a new covenant and that is the covenant that God abides by.
Now we have a new covenant. It is completely different than the old covenant. Jesus is the one to bring agreement. This new covenant is based on neew promises.
What was seen on earth under the old covenant was a replica of what was in heaven.
Hebrews 8 verse 1 and 2 are a summary of what has been said. Jesus is our high priest, He is seated in authority in heaven and he is there serving according to the sacrifice that was made.
Jesus became our sacrifice and paid the debt of sins once for all. He is our High Priest but He is also a Son forever.
Because Jesus is eternal His position is never changing. He is speaking on our behalf to the Father.
Jesus has done two things for us. He has taken an oath of office, He is our High Priest forever. He is our security deposit and He will bring us into perfection.
The two sides of man's relationship with God. The law was weak and useless in changing us. But Jesus gave us a hope and that hope causes us to draw near to God.
Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law. God is not angry with you. Jesus is our High Priest.
Jesus was from the tribe of Judah or the tribe of kings. He is also our eternal, all powerful high priest.
God never intended for the Levitical priesthood to bring perfection. That is why we needed another priest. His name is Jesus
The greater One blesses the smaller one. God blesses us! The tithe brings the blessing of God.
Abraham saw the greatness of Melchizedek and gave Him the tithe. The reason why believers don't tithe is because they don't see the greatness of Christ.
Melchizedek was eternal. He had not father, mother or genealogy. He was a priest forever. He is Christ.
Abraham gave Melchizedek a tithe of all he had received. Melchizedek is the king of righteousness. He is also the king of peace.
Who is Melchizedek? He is the king of Salem or peace, He is the priest of the Most High God. He meet Abraham and blessed Him.
Jesus is our forerunner. He is ready to meet us when we past from this life to the next. He stands in heaven as our high priest making intercession for us.
Our hope is in God. He is sure and never changing. He is steadfast and can hold us in storms. He has gone before us and entered into heaven.
Two things are impossible. First God cannot lie and secondly we who take our refuge in Him will have strong encouragement and will see our hope accomplished.
God has an unchangeable purpose for you. He designed you for a reason and has a purpose for you. God has taken an oath that that purpose will be fulfilled if we do our part.
God promised Abraham that he would be blessed and He backed it up with everything that He is. Abraham patiently took the promise and moved and he obtained what God promised.
Doing things for the Lord cause hope. That hope will be there until the end. You can overcome depression by simply ministering to others.
God will never forget what you have done because of love and what was done in His name. God remembers what you have done for the saints.
The writer of Hebrews is changing subjects. He is reminding us that we can and are receiving the things that are in our salvation. He also is saying that God has taken notice of your works and love.
The ground determines the fruit. Good ground produces useful fruit when it is taken care of. Poor ground produces weeds that will be burned.
What does it mean to fall away? Falling away is a decision to reject all that you have already received from God. At that point the person has committed the unpardonable sin.
These are more condition to losing salvation. They are associated with the Holy Sprit, they have consumed the good Word of God and the power of God. This is not an immature believer.
Can a believer lose their salvation? They have been enlighten and they have consumed the grace of God
Lets graduate from the elementary levels and move on in understanding our relationship with Christ. We have been enlightened.
The unbelievers will be judged. They are not getting away with their sins. This judgment is eternal and must be taught as a foundation to our faith.
There will be a resurrection day for all of us. For the believer it will happen at the rapture of the church. For the unbeliever it will be at the end of time for this earth. It will happen.
The laying on of hands is an essential doctrine in our faith. It represents the transfer of things. For the believer it is the transfer of God's anointing to heal, deliver and empower.
There are several baptisms mentioned in the Word of God. When we know these teachings it becomes a foundation of our faith.
After we inspect our repentance we must be assured that our faith is toward God. Are you trusting Him in every area of your life.
The foundation of our faith begins with repentance. Repentance is simply making a decision to move inn another direction. We move away from dead works. This is sins and also works of self righteousness.
We must move forward in our faith and press into maturity. We are either moving forward or we are moving backward.
A spiritual mature person practices the righteousness they have been given. This practice cause them to know what is morally good or evil.
A spiritually matures person takes the responsibility to live out their righteousness. They are not infants any more.
The Hebrew church should have been teaching about Jesus but they have digressed to a point that now they need to be taught.
Jesus was chosen to speak as our high priest. But people have become dull of hearing are cannot understand what He said.
