Crystal Rivers | Kingdom Mysteries | Apr 30, 2025 God has designed a journey for you, leading from spiritual infancy to complete maturity in Christ. This path begins in the Garden of Eden—a place of pleasure where Adam was surrounded by cherubim who continually beheld and proclaimed God's glory. Their purpose was to help Adam see God's beauty correctly, because without the right perspective, God's life can seem painful rather than desirable. Your spiritual journey follows this same pattern. You must move beyond elementary principles toward mastery of righteousness—what Scripture calls "eternal judgment." This doesn't mean condemning others, but developing the ability to discern as God discerns, to love what He loves and hate what He hates. To reach this maturity, you need spiritual nourishment. Scripture describes this as "butter and honey"—butter representing an abundance of God's word (milk) and honey symbolizing the sweetness of that word to your soul. When you truly delight in God's word, you naturally choose good and refuse evil. This development follows clear stages: 1. Repentance from dead works and faith toward God 2. The baptism of indoctrination—saturating yourself in God's word 3. The laying on of hands—experiencing the Holy Spirit's power 4. Resurrection from the dead—being raised to new life 5. Eternal judgment—seeing from God's perspective Many believers never progress beyond the first stages. They experience momentary encounters with God's power but fail to become deeply indoctrinated in His word. True transformation requires moving beyond public displays of faith to cultivate a robust secret life with God. Your private devotion should far exceed what others witness. If you want to truly become like Christ, you must develop a genuine love for God's presence and His word. This doesn't happen automatically—you must linger in His presence until His fruit becomes sweet to your taste and His perspective becomes your own. Only then will you reach the maturity God designed for you, where discerning good and evil becomes natural because you see through His eyes. every weekday : http://www.caveadullam.org/zoom Crystal Rivers | Kingdom Mysteries | Apr 30, 2025 Follow us on Facebook & Instagram Facebook Cave Adullam : / caveadullam.org Ministers Rest : / ministersrest Preparing His bride : / phbfellowship #STNG : / securingthenextgeneration Instagram Cave Adullam: / caveadullam #STNG : / securingthenextgeneration
I'm excited to have Skye Jethani back on the podcast. When we talk about justice, we often think in binary terms - judgment or mercy, punishment or forgiveness. But as Skye argues, the biblical vision of justice is far more nuanced and holistic. At its core, justice is about the proper ordering of relationships - between humanity and God, as well as between individuals and communities. It's not just about retribution, but about restoring the shalom, the wholeness and flourishing, that God intended for his creation. This understanding upends many of our assumptions about justice, both in the church and in society. He challenges the popular American Christian idea that justice is something the government does, not the church. And he unpacks how this bifurcation between the "vertical" and "horizontal" dimensions of justice has deeply distorted our theology and our engagement with the world. But Skye also offers a compelling alternative - a vision of justice that holds together judgment and mercy, individual transformation and systemic change. It's a vision rooted in the cosmic victory of Christ on the cross, where the powers of evil were defeated and a new order was established. This is a conversation that spans creation, Christology, and the church's role in pursuing righteousness. Skye draws on Scripture, church history, and his own experience to paint a rich, nuanced portrait of justice that challenges us to rethink our assumptions and expand our imaginations. So join us as we reckon with justice.Skye Jethani is an award-winning author, speaker, and co-host of the Holy Post Podcast and co-founder of Holy Post Media. Matthew 25:31-46 // Ben BeasleyHell, in the Bible, is not some underground torture chamber. Hell is a place outside the city of the New Jerusalem, that God excludes because he wants to cast out the darkness for the light, to protect from the destruction of the fires of sin, and so the fullness of restoration will remain over destruction. God excludes sin and the powers of hell from his kingdom because of his goodness, and not in spite of his goodness. This ultimate reconciliation with God, this is the dream that we dream for our world. This is also God's heavenly dream for the world coming to earth. A real hell means there is real news to be shared. There is good news, and that good news is real: Jesus is here to reconcile you back to God. Take him up on it. Reach out, he won't let you go. Matthew 25:31-46 // Bill GormanCan we really believe in hell? In our cultural moment idea of hell is either something that humorous or abhorrent. But what do we do with Jesus teachings about hell? While it may not seem very Jesusy, Jesus spoke and taught more about hell than anyone else in the Bible. How do we make sense of his teachings? This is what we look at in this message. 11/12/2023 Sunday Morning
Is there is a significance in the different names of hell, hades, Sheol, etc. Is hell eternal? Do people in hell have a repentant heart? Are there different levels of punishment in hell? what is hell like? How bad is hell? Will people in hell remember life on earth? Can Adam pronounce annihilationism correctly?
The Lamb's Book of Life is God's Family Album with the names of all those saved through the Blood of the Lamb. At the Great White Throne at the end of time, Christ will open this Book to verify that the names of those who had rejected God and His salvation were not included in it (Revelation 20:11-15). So they are judged according to what is written in the books of their lives. Whether or not you are written in the Book of Life defines your eternal destiny (Revelation 20:12,15, 21:27). It is the Lamb's Book, for if anyone's name is included, it is because they have been redeemed by His Blood. Derek goes through the various Scriptures that refer to this Book (Daniel 12:1, Revelation 3:5, Luke 10:20, Philippians 4:3, Isaiah 49:16). On the one hand, the Bible talks about changes being made in this Book as time goes on, which reflects human freedom of choice. Many assume that our name is written in the Book of Life when we trust in Christ, but that is not supported by Scripture, which only talks of names of people being blotted out for rejecting God (Exodus 32:32,33, Revelation 22:19). In fact, everyone who is alive physically is written in the Book of Life at their conception, but if they die in a state of sin (having reached the age of accountability) their names are blotted out (Psalm 69:28). On the other hand, the Bible says that the final list of names in the Book has been foreknown and fixed by God from eternity, and so these names were written in His Book from before the foundation of the world (Revelation 17:8, 13:8), which reflects God's Sovereignty. Thus the Book can be seen from the 2 viewpoints of eternity and time, from God's eternal viewpoint and from man's temporal viewpoint. The eternal Book of Life is unchanging, but its manifestation in time necessarily changes, because of human free-will. At the end of time, as time moves into eternity, the temporal form of the Book will assume its eternal (fixed) form, which was written by God from the foundation of the world. Either your sins will be blotted out by the Blood of Christ (Isaiah 44:22, Acts 3:19), or your name will be blotted out of His Book (John 3:16,36).

Judgment is not always a bad thing—it can be in your favor! In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the fact that God will judge each of us one Day, and truly acknowledging this can change the way we live our lives. We are saved when we accept Jesus as Lord of our lives, but maturing as Christ-followers requires intentionality and effort. Pursuing godliness, holiness, purity, and righteousness unleashes something that will bear fruit for all eternity. The majority of our existence is going to be spent in eternity, and our opportunities there will be linked to what we've chosen to do in time—so choose the honor the Lord in all your ways. There are only 2 possible eternal destinies for every person - either (1) a state and place of everlasting life and blessedness in God's Presence, for those who have received Christ as their Saviour and Lord, or (2) a state and place of everlasting punishment, for those who have rejected Christ and His offer of Salvation. Every man's final destiny is fixed by God at the time of his death, according to the condition of his soul in relation to God (Ecclesiastes 11:3). There is a HEAVEN to gain and a HELL to shun! Before the Death and Resurrection of Christ, at death both believers and unbelievers went down to a place called ‘Hades' (in Greek) or ‘Sheol' (in Hebrew), a place under the earth for departed spirits, but the believers and unbelievers went to 2 different compartments of Hades, separated by the Bottomless Pit. This is revealed by the true story of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-26). Before the New Covenant it was impossible for anyone to be born again, and so it was impossible for their spirits to go into Heaven. But now through Christ's death and resurrection, the New Birth is available, which means that when believers die now, our spirits can go straight up to Heaven, because our spirits have been changed, born again, and made perfect in Christ. When Christ rose from the dead, He made the spirits of the Old Testament saints perfect by giving them the New Birth, and then took them to Heaven with Him, so they are there now. Jesus promised that believers in the Church Age would not go down to Hades, but up to Heaven for they are now in the Kingdom of God (Matthew 16:18, John 3:3-6). Derek gives a number of scriptures that prove that believers now go up ti Heaven when they die. On the other hand, unbelievers still go down to Torments in Hades, a temporary place of punishment for their soul, because they died in their sins and are guilty. They rejected the grace of God, the work of Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit. They must wait in this temporary holding-cell in Hades until they are resurrected at the end of time and made to stand before the Great White Throne for their final sentencing and dismissal into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20), which is their final and everlasting place of punishment, for both their body and their soul (Matthew 10:28).
God's eternal Judgment will determine each person's eternal destiny. God will ultimately divide all mankind into 2 groups with 2 very different eternal destinies, which is decided at death, when a permanent separation takes place between the righteous and unrighteous. This Judgment, which happens when we cross over the threshold from this life to the next, will be solely a judgment of that individual, and the decisions he has made in his life (Ezekiel 18:20). The Bible teaches that mankind generally goes through 3 Phases of Existence: (1) this life in a mortal body, (2) the INTERMEDIATE STATE, and (3) the ETERNAL STATE in an immortal body. After death the invisible part of man (his spirit- soul), will live on independently from his body. This is called the Immortality of the Soul (Matthew 10:28). Although the body is made from dust that dies, the spirit is made from God's breath (spirit) and so cannot die. It continues to exist and live on after death (Genesis 2:7). Physical death is simply the separation of the spirit from the body, when the body is no longer able to house the spirit (James 2:26). The condition of each soul at death will determine its destiny for eternity (Ecclesiastes 11:3, Rev 22:11). The first Stage of man's Eternal Judgment happens immediately after his death (Hebrews 9:27). Stage 1 determines a man's guilt or innocence. You will either die 'in your sins' (John 8:24) or 'in the Lord' (Rev 14:13). The righteous go up to Paradise, and the wicked go down to Hades, where both groups wait for the 2nd Stage of their Eternal Judgment, which is at their resurrection. After death a man enters the next phase of his existence, the Intermediate State (a temporary State, the time between his death and resurrection). After leaving his body, he continues to exist as a disembodied spirit. In Stage 2 of man's Eternal Judgment, at his resurrection, he will appear before the Judge for sentencing. Believers will come before the Judgment Seat of Christ to be judged according to their works to determine their eternal rewards. *Unbelievers will stand before the Great White Throne for their final sentencing. They are judged according to their works to determine the degree of their eternal punishment. They are then dismissed to their final place of punishment, the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:11-15). A major change took place through the Death and Resurrection of Christ, so Derek shows what happened in Old Testament times before the Cross (Luke 16), and the difference that Christ made possible for us by establishing the New Covenant and providing the perfecting of our spirits through the New Birth. Thus before the Resurrection, Heaven was not populated by man (John 3:13), but now in Christ, our spirits have been changed, born again, and made perfect. So now when believers die, they go straight up into Heaven.

There are two future judgments coming. Those who are unsaved will appear before God's White Throne Judgment. And believers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Those who are saved and in Christ will not appear before the Great White Throne Judgment. Nevertheless, our works as believers will be thoroughly examined and tried. Christ will then designate how we are to be rewarded. Hence, the way we build and steward our lives on earth will have an effect for all eternity. Join us for Home Group as we continue our discussion on the Foundations of Faith.
Some have left the Christian church because the Bible speaks about eternal judgment in Hell for some. But when we look at the teachings of Jesus, we can see that eternal judgment was not originally intended for humans, but for the devil and his angels. And yet, Jesus wisely judges those who continue to harm those around them and refuse his love and forgiveness. When we study Jesus' words on eternal judgment, we find that this message is good for society as it keeps us from being the judges and inflicting vengeance on our enemies. Scriptures: Matthew 25:31-46
